Sohoton Cove - Tourist attraction in Surigao, Philippines
It was an amazing experience! The only way to go inside is through this cave and it can only be accessed during low tide...
First time on cliff jumping! Never tried anywhere, plus I am not a swimmer. Thats why I was lol. 🤣Really thought of drowning, before I jumped. But I trusted the guides. Kudos! 🤙🏼
A must place to visit! The place is very relaxing. Snorkling in Jelly fish sanctuary, the underwater caves, cliff jumping and many more. Great experience! Its my second time to visit and would like to go back again if I got the chance.
A bit far from Siargao Island but worth the 4 hour boat ride! The view is trully mesmerizing and the experience is worthwhile.. We haven’t seen the jelly fish around since we were told they only appear when it’s their season.
Bucas Grande is an island in the province of Surigao del Norte in the Philippines. The island is contiguous with the municipality of Socorro, Surigao del Norte. Its area is 128 square kilometres (49 sq mi). Its name means "large mouth" or "large opening" in Philippine Spanish in reference to the wide strait in between Bucas Grande and Socorro Island.
Amazing experience on this tour. We had to dive and hold our beaths for 10 seconds in order to get inside the cave. Once you are inside you’ll see your skin is glowing. It’s lightning specially if you are white, uts because of the reflection from the light outside. And the second one would be cliff diving. After trecking and climbing the other cave, you wont have any other way out but to jump of r dive in 12ft high water. It was exciting though. Lots of jumper were firstimers. Then you can swim at the jellyfish sanctuary after. It was an amazing experience.
Amazing scenery! And they have a very accommodating tour guide.
About 2 hours boat ride from the port to this place. Crystal clear water! Makes me feel so peaceful. Cliff jumping from the platform was fun. Swim and play with sting-less jellyfish (although amount not too much). Superb experience! You can rent snorkel mask @ PHP100.
Amazing place and highly recommended to visit with a tour group. We used My Siargao Tour and was blown away. The locals are very kind and so welcoming. Be ready to step out of your comfort zone as there a few parts that you need to be ready to go I see water and through caves. Those who can not swim do not worry the guides are basically fish people and will take care of you just follow instructions and enjoy! FYI when yo il swim with the golden jelly fishes don’t panic they have no stingers.
Love the package tour. As soon as we dock we immediately love the clean waters, the guide that tells the story of each cave you enter..the diving and the jumping is thrilling and awesome experiences.
Interesting place to visit, we paid 2100 pesos for all atractions for 3 people.
The best place for swimming with the jelly fish. Its a santuary for baby jelly fish. Best if you have go pro camera and underwater diving equipments.
Love the jellyfish part! Really fun bc I was able to to touch them! 💖
This was by far the highlight of my trip to Siargao. The boat ride from General Luna can take up to 3hrs one way so come prepared with snacks and earplugs! You can find tours for 2000PHP that include the other main islands (Daku, makes, Guyam), but Sohoton cove outshone all the other stops. My favorite was swimming with the stingless jellyfish and the big cave climb. Make sure you bring goggles or scuba gear, and if you don’t like heights just skip the cave climb. The rest of the tour is worth it. Beautiful clear waters and amazing wildlife. Will definitely do this again next time I come to Siargao.
3hrs travel from siargao gen. Luna, worth it the place is awsome. Thank u siargao joiner tour
Its really, really nice. One of the top places in the Philippines so far. It’s a 2-3 hour boat ride from the port. The information personnel are really approachable. You can also rent googles and fins for 100 pesos each, unlimited time of use. Once you’ll arrive you will just have to wait for your number to be called. If you didn’t bring waterproof bag, they also sell it. It’s a must visit spot in the Philippines, especially in Mindanao Area. There are lots of jelly fish especially on its season.
Islands, beach, blue waters. Swim with the jellyfish. Picturesque place. 😊
One of the most beautiful places that I visited. You can reach via boat from Hayangabon Port in Mainland Surigao del Norte or from Siargao island. The place is similar to El Nido or Coron. I joined the group tour for 1,700/person and its worth it. Food, guide and boat are included in the package.
The most picturesque destination Ive been to so far in my travels. Simply beautiful.
In my opinion this is as close as we can get to nature as we possibly can because the place is minimally disturbed and, on certain levels of tide, inaccessible, which is a good thing as it preserves the mystique around it.
Clean blueish greenish water. 😍😍
Nature lovers gonna love this place! Its greenish-bluish water is so clear that corals and other sea creatures can be seen along the way through the cave.
One the best attractions in Socorro, Surigao Del Norte. 2 hour boat ride from General Luna, Siargao Island. Discover all this places in Sohoton;Crystal Cave, Bolitas Cave, Tundan Cave, Magkukuob Cavern, Hagukan Cave, Bubon Group of Islets, Club Tara Resort, Tiktikan Lake, Bubon Beach, Marka A Island and Jellyfish Sanctuary. Just be cafeful and vigilant while swimming, I heard that Siargao is home to the largest crocs, the salties or saltwater crocodile.
I visited in Sohoton Cove in Siargao. I’m amazed at how Mother Nature has given us a satisfactory living on this planet. We should discipline ourselves and not wait for the government to clean our trash. There was a lot of plastic garbage floating in the area especially on the way to the Jellyfish Sanctuary. It is for us and for the next generation to experience this kind of paradise.A simple "keep ur trash in ur pocket" and throw it in a proper segregation bin is the attitude thats NEEDED from people.
Sohoton Cove is an enchanting place where you can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of nature. In Sohoton area you can visit twelve (12places of interest. These are the following: ✔ Sohoton Cove ✔ Crystal Cave ✔ Bolitas Cave ✔ Tundan Cave ✔ Magkukuob cavern (Diving Cave✔ Hagukan Cave ✔ Bubon Group of Islets ✔ Club Tara Resort ✔ Tiktikan Lake ✔ Bubon Beach ✔ Marka A Island ✔ Jellyfish Sanctuary (Non-sting JellyfishYou can explore and discover the majestic place with hospitable people and great tour services. Make sure to contact reliable and registered tour operators for you to have a safe and sound getaway.
2-3 Hour boat(bangkaride from Siargao. When we went there, the jellyfish were not in season. But they offer other attractions too besides the jellyfish. You get to see the beautiful rock formations, the clear waters. You get to experience going inside the cave where it "Glows" inside. Also to top it all, you get to jump off a 15ft platform. Be careful though, once you climb to the top, the only way down is to jump.
One of the best places to visit when youre in Siargao. Boat ride is 2 hours from General Luna but its worth it.
A must visit place when you travel in Siargao. Its like travelling chocolate hills but in the water. :)We found a local guide that offers cheaper cost and shared with other travellers we met there. Since it was full island hopping, dont forget to bring your water and lunch. We had fun swimming and diving with the jellyfish though we didnt see much.
One of the most worthwhile thing I ever did in my life.I looked for package tours on facebook groups for Siargao tourists - Siargao Business Classified and I found there Kuya Doods Almacen who offers package tours for Sohoton and 3 Islands (Guyam, Daku, Naked, or Secret Islandfor only 1,500 pesos or 30 USD for the whole day with free lunch.I highly encourage everyone that before travelling, research first to know the expected budget for the trip, also for you not to waste time looking for package tours that are often, too expensive offered around GLSohoton needs around 2 hours to reach via boat, but im telling youuuu IT IS SOOOOO WORTH IT. ❤❤❤The tour guides were fun to be with and will always look after you during the tour. It was hightide when we went there, we hid under the boat (literally hahabecause our heads might hit the stalactites 😊then after few meters, there is the beautiful Sohoton cove. Theres a part there where the guides will bring you to a hidden cave and will push you to dive for about 8-10 seconds (youll just hold your breathe and trust the tour guides!and cliff diving as well.Jellyfish sanctuary was my most favorite part. We transferred to a smaller boat and only one tourist with one guide ber boat was allowed. about 10 mins. of paddling to reach the beautiful place. I was really in awe. 😍😍😍 Lots of jellyfishes - white blue purple and brown in color! 😎
One of the best day trips weve done in the Phillipines. It is tricky to get to and not many places in Siargao offer the tour anymore. We decided to go to Dapa and found a local guide that was willing to take us there. The guide actually got lost on our way there! Shows exactly how off the beaten path this place is.Once we arrived in Sohoton were then passed over to pay the local fees, then a fee for the tour. We werent sure what we were signing up for but it ended up being a fantastic adventure. The cave tour was great fun and the Jellyfish sanctuary was spectacular. We were the last boats out so it felt like we had the whole sanctuary to ourselves. I feel like that is what sugba lagoon was like before it got popular.Bring a packed lunch of some kind with you as it will be a long day. There are no restaurants in the vicinity. We were lucky that the locals took pity on our lack of preparation and shared their lunch with us.
Great summer destination! If you’re facing the Sea you see the beauty of Nature! Unfortunately if you are looking the mountain from the sea you’ll see how those greedy people abuse the nature due to open pit mining!
The adventure is superb. First youre going into the cove wherein the water inside reflects the light. It was like gloeing inside. They called it as the hagukan cove in which it means snoring cove. It says it will snore during high tide. And it was only accessible during low tide. Next is the proper sohoton Cove in which you go inside and climb into the rocks and go out at the top of the cove in which you must jump into the water. Dont worry there is someone waiting for you. In case you dont know how to swim.
No one can enter sohoton unless its lowtide ss the entrance will be covered with water during hightide. Its a large area inside covering about 60 hectares. There are two activities offered one is in hagukan cove where you get dive upon entering during not so low tides. The other one is in magkukuob cavern where you get to climb about 15 feet and jump to the sea upon exit.
If you want to enter the cave of sohoton you better prepare your breath because the guide will help you swim 7-9seconds underwater (holding your breathjust to pass through.
A place where you can find your inner peace and serenity. A good place to relax while enjoying the beauty of nature.
the place is stunning, you wouldnt believe it dies exist.
A bit pricy but amazing :)
It was the best experience ever. I dunno how to swim but the tour guide really guided me to enter the Hagukan Cave.
A trip to this secluded place is really worth it. Dont forget to try their caves as what youll see inside is surreal.
One of my most memorable experience in Surigao. The sceneries can be compared to Puerto Princessas underground river even though its a cove. They offer organized tours in the area. I travelled with TourEatGao, a travel agency operating in Surigao Del Norte and Del Sur.
Nice place , its more fun in caraga
This place is by far one of the most memorable travel experience that i have i love the view and the tours and also the people their are very friendly !
This place was beyond description... The silence, the calmness of the water, the whole experience was very good. Although we arrived there with a gloomy weather the place didnt lose its awesomeness.
Me and my guest enjoyed the nature trip. Be back very soon!
Crystal clear water.Friendly locals.Great experience!
One of the best destinations in Caraga! A must visit at least once in a lifetime. No words can describe the beauty of Sohoton. You can swim with stingless jellyfish here!
One of the best place I visited in the Philippines. No filters needed
This is a perfect tourist attraction, the beaches and lagoon waters are so clear, stingless jellyfishes, wonderful caves.
Visited Saturday 14 May 2016, weather was bad, site was packed with locals, and not so many boats to take visitors into the cove. Result: Long waiting time to start tour, tour was done so quickly (boats had to short-cycle back to decongest the visitorsthat you dont have time to appreciate the beauty of the place, when one activity is delayed make sure you bring snacks. When visiting, TIMING is important.
Awesome experience, but the google location is wrong. The location of the dock is west of this pin.
