Casual eatery serving creative Mediterranean, Balkan & Albanian fare in a diner-style setting.
A great family dinner everyone in the community should visit. Always good food, good service and the staff are so pleasant.
Nice clean place where you can have a relaxing dining experience.
Great breakfast. You have to try the Albanian sausage. Friendly service.
Absolutely some of the best Albanian food I’ve had in the US. Warm, welcoming and professional staff, and probably the best Qoftë (Albanian SausageI’ve had outside of Albania!I was happy to treat my friends to brunch here and give them a real taste of Albanian food and Hospitality - I look forward to visiting again when I’m in the Madison area again!
Great food, fast friendly service and fair prices.
Albanian sausage & the Greek skillet are must haves for anybody who enjoys good tasting food.
Friendly and super quick service. The Albanian skillet and omelette were very, very good.
First time : The lady I worked with was really pushy and but decent food… 🤷🏾♂️i like it but I’ll pass. This was not a fun experience. I am 0/3 in Madison so far with local family cuisine . I would love a good referral at this point.(Decent ppl/Great Foodvibes 🤙🏾(maybe I am just talking to ppl on a terrible day each time)
Great brunch. Great service. Wonderful family owned spot
Don’t leave without trying the Albanian sausages. All food is excellent. Good coffee. Usually a quiet breakfast can be had and the sidewalk tables are great for summer. Bonus - they offer raisin bread as an option for toast!
Its always so hard to choose what Im going to eat! Lots of great breakfast and brunch options. We like to go Sunday after church. Try the Turkish coffee!
If you’re considering going here, DO IT!! Great service and felt like I was in Europe. Started out with Turkish coffee which is stronger than American coffee and naturally creamy and comes in a small cup. You drink it until you get to the grounds at the bottom and then stop. Highly recommend trying it. They also have American coffee with free refills. Also highly recommend the Albanian omelette. The homemade meat was amazing and comes with this homemade pepper spread on top with a side of hash browns (get these with cheese and onion on top). We also tried the eggs Benedict with hash browns. Everything people were getting looked so good. Lots of choices on the menu. Try this place out for some great service and hearty homemade food!
Our absolute favorite breakfast place! The food is always so delicious! 😋 They have specials often so you get to try some different dishes! We feel like family when we walk in 💖 thank you for all you do, Sofras fam!Not to mention, sometimes you get to try Krenares Custom Desserts creations including cookies, cocoa bombs, cakes, and more! 🎂 And in the summer they get creative with their Sips and Sweets events 🍹So grateful to have found this gem in Middleton 🙏✨🙏
If youre visiting Middleton, dont leave without stopping here. The Albanian sausages and Turkish coffee are a MUST to have with your meal. I get the black cherry crepes, and they are so perfect every time.
While most dining experiences feel transactional, eating at Sofra feels like spending time with good friends, even if youre hardly a regular. The food is as good as the atmosphere--never once have I been even close to disappointed.P.S. Try their Proje Benedict special when its available; you wont regret it!!!
What a wonderful place, friendly at home atmosphere. The food is amazing and fresh. A definite must if you are in the area for breakfast or lunch.
Truly a hidden gem in Middleton. Food is reasonably priced and very tasty. The restaurant is family-owned and staff are very friendly. The Albanian sausage is a must if you come here!
Such a wonderful diner with a lot on the menu! My family and I really enjoyed our lunch.
Food is amazing. Love the Turkish coffee. You will feel like part of there family.
OH MY GOD Sofra is literally a must go to if you’re in Middleton. Their food is genuinely to die for and i promise you that you won’t have any food left on your plate when you leave
Excellent breakfast and lunch place. The menu has a great mix of traditional American fare and with some Greek favorites as well. The gyros are great and so are the breakfast egg scrambles.
Interesting place with tasty food. Service was quick. Seems clean and the french fries were done of the best Ive had!
The food was fantastic, but the service was even better. We had never had Turkish coffee, and our waiter took the time to explain how its made and how to drink it (let it settle and never add cream). We had the eggs benedict with salmon, a Greek salad, and a Mickey Mouse pancake for my son. Highly recommend!
This place was amazing!!! Food was top notch. Felt like having having breakfast with the family even though I was eating just by myself. I had Aldon as my waiter. Dude was an awesome waiter. One of the best spots Ive ever eaten at, and I eat out atleast 5 times a week. Only place Im eating at, when I visit Madison again. Looking forward to next time.
We had a great Sunday breakfast sitting outside. Palms in pots all around create a nice ambiance. Service was great and hostess was a hoot! Greek omelet and Albanian sausage and eggs were delicious. Toast included is a thick and heart slice. Food came out super fast. Wonderful experience.
Very fast and friendly service. Mediterranean scramble was really good and the Albanian sausage was just excellent! Highly recommend both. They have outdoor seating too which is really nice. Ill definitely be going back to try more of their menu options.
Kicking myself for not taking photos but I have the eggs Florentine and a Turkish coffee (so yumand my boyfriend had the Southwestern chicken skillet. We both loved our food and immediately knew we’d have to come back to try more on the menu. Waiter was SO friendly and on it the whole time. Highly recommend this place, stands out from the other diners around Madison/Middleton.
Enjoyed outdoor dining with my Mom at this place. Breakfast was a special omelet, thick raisin toast with hash browns. Friendly service.
My favourite place to go when it comes to Mediterranean delights. Beautiful family. Great service and amazing food!
The food and service were fantastic! A very nice family owned and operated Albanian restaurant. The owner took us through the details of the menu, and we felt like family afterwords!
It was such a delightful experience! Some people dont understand when I say it is difficult to find restaurants that prepare food that tastes home made. For those that do, this place has you covered! Not only does the food taste delicious, but the owners, Gjyner and Zamira, will make you feel right at home too with their wonderful hospitality. Many thanks to both of them!
Been here twice and the food is excellent. Standard breakfast food with a flair. The time between ordering and getting food was super quick and the service was amazing! Will definitely go here again!
Delicious breakfast and wonderful service! We’ve gotten take out a number of times throughout the past year and haven’t had a bad experience yet. The Malaga crepes with gelato topping is a definite favorite amongst our kids!
Sofra is one of the best restaurants in the area. You can have delicious Mediterranean food here. Special dishes are available to order for Friday and Saturday nights and also for special events and holidays (just ask someone inside).
Delicious food, fast friendly service. We couldnt believe how fast our food came. Really appreciated that our waitress offered to inquire if something was in what I ordered without me saying it was because of an allergy. Portion size was perfect. Cant wait to go again and try a dinner.
House recipe sausage and turkish coffee were great! Well priced and good quality for breakfast.
This place is great! The food was super good and the wait staff is attentive and efficient.
Great little restaurant!!!! Gyro was perfect, albanian sausages delicious, service fast and friendly! Loved it and will be back!
Excellent everything!!! The Owners make sure of it! Squeaky clean from front to back! Weve never had a bad bite and weve been going there for more than a decade!!! The staff gives great service! Always personable! And the food is absolutely delicious!!! Theres something for everyone on the Menu. You will want to come back again and again!!! A great place for Business Professionals to meet.Classy yet Comfortable. Handmade Breads and Soups...Desserts that are not typical...and every Salad and Entree made with fresh ingredients!!! Be ready to switch from your favorite place to eat! Go early...they close at 3:00 for the day.
A mid-upscale spot with a cozy small town feeling. Full 5 stars for the ambience! This is one spot for a broad range of food options (Turkish coffee and Flan are a must!).Good and unconventional Mediterranean dishes, hummus was nice and mellow in feel, good appetizer to start off with. Hummus sandwich and Sonoma panini were really flavorful. We also had salmon club, which had a very light feel and salmon boasted juicy flavors. Egg Florentine would be appreciated by a complex palate.. Just end with the flan and Turkish coffee;)
28 years in business! After eating breakfast there this morning i can imagine why they have succeeded. Fresh ingredients make the best tasting foods and this is what they use. Also talented cooks. Friendly staff like Sandra who give great menu recommendations. Best breakfast out in a long time. I am now a fan of crepes. These were incredible. Where else in town can you get Turkish coffee?! If I were available tomorrow evening i would go to the High Tea. What a jewel in the heart of Middleton! Thank you for a great crepe breakfast. I will be back with my family and friends.
Good food at a family run diner. Chicken tortilla soup and a Bacon Cheeseburger. Outstanding chocolate cake.Update 02-18-2019 - Outstanding burger, better than the new Point Burger bar. Bumping up to 4 starts for continued good service.
Not hungry enough for a heavy breakfast, I tried the breakfast sundae and I’m glad I did! It was beautiful and the people I dined with definitely had order envy when it arrived. 2 minor critiques, the yogurt and fruit wasn’t particularly cold. I don’t know if it sat out while the rest of the tables food was being prepared, but it would’ve been 5 stars had it been cold and refreshing. I also didn’t care much for the coffee, but nothing some creamer couldn’t help.
I had heard many rumors of a nice Albanian bistro near Madison, but never managed to find it until a friend brought me. No regrets! Its usually quiet (many patrons are on the older side, since theres a senior center nearby), the staff is incredible, and the food is so very good and relatively inexpensive considering some of the other breakfast options in the area. Definitely get the Albanian sausage. Its delicious!
Amazing. We got the Smoked Salmon Benedict and Albanian Skillet. Great customer service!
Great option for tasty food, both savory & sweet options with several Albanian 🇦🇱 traditional preparations. Our party of 10 was accommodated in their lower dining area. The food was delicious and very reasonable overall for our group. We will plan on a return visit soon!
A nice family friendly stop. Good quality food with nice original touches. A very solid place to have a nice breakfast. Albanian sausages are a very fine thing. The crepes are well worth ordering. Easy to locate and park. The service is very good quality. I found the Albanian skillet a good choice. The singular brawback is the lack of a liquor license, so back into coffee or tea (they have a good Turkish coffee).
The food was excellent! Our waitress asked if we had eaten some of the more exotic foods, and explained how to best enjoy them if we didnt know. They have some of the best crepes Ive had in Madison. The Turkish coffee was delicious, strong but smooth, and came with a little Turkish delight. I highly recommend it.
Ive been a customer here for over 20 years. You wont find a nicer staff anywhere. The food is outstanding. Breakfast is perfect every time with the Albanian breakfast sausage. The Bistro Burger for lunch and lamb chops for dinner. There are many other items on the menu as well.May 2017 update. Now that Sofra is closed for dinner you will have to order the fabulous lamb chops for lunch. You wont regret it.
I really like breakfast at Sofra. I love their Albanian sausage - you break it up and dip it in the coarse salt and pepper flakes they bring you on the side. Super delicious. Breakfast portions are generous and always cooked to order. A very nice family restaurant.
