Not sure whats happened to this place. For a tenner you used to be able to get one of the best breakfasts in Cardiff, Glamorgan sausages, tomatoes on the vine etc etcNow for nearly £30, 2x coffees, 2x breakfasts whats supposed to be a white bloomer or malted bloomer got served a flat bagel with every ingredient from the tescos a couple doors just look at that pre sliced packet chili cheese 😅 honestly beyond dissatisfied, i wouldnt go out if wanted something cheap I can knock up myself. You cant charge a premium for putting balsamic glaze on a plate. Also all the normal tables have gone, replaced with flimsy garden tables, one nudge and I spilled my coffee over.Coffee was good I guess, just get the coffee.
Update 23/06/2022: The food menu was developed and the taste was good. ThanksQuite frankly, the place has everything to be the five stars neighborhood cafe starting from the customer service either in the shop or online (replying quickly to customersthen to the perfect presentation and vibe of the place reflecting the coffee culture and knowledge. The reasons for the fair score is the taste of the coffee and the cookies. We ordered flat white and mocha. For the flat white, I got a sip the taste journey started with sweetness then a bit ashy taste and ended with very bitter aftertaste. The cookies was very sweet and not balanced. I have not tried the food 🥘 which looks delicious.I had couple of visits and the review for the most recent one, although I had the same experience when it comes to the taste
Ordered a chicken and bacon sandwich... was incredible!!! Wife had avocado, bacon and egg which was just as amazing. Super tasty.A 5th star would have been awarded if they had gf brownies haha
Promised more than it delivered. Small and quaint and the food looks good. But after sitting there for 40 minutes to see everyone else after me served, I gently prompted the staff for the one hot drink I order. It came out in under 2 minutes. It was lukewarm and not the best. Its a small cafe, run by two staff, but it took too long and the drink was lukewarm.
Overnight oats are amazing!
Friendly!! Good coffee!!
What a find, saw it whilst dropping son to uni. The guys where doing coffee and cake. Had a chat, looked at there menu. Nice choice. Not much seating space. But hell the food a drink was lush. Had a good takeaway trade going. Also the cakes are nice.
We had such a lush time at bottomless brunch and the staff were so amazing at arranging it. The drinks were so fresh and the food was delicious. The drinks kept coming and the staff were so attentive and fun vibes! Would definitely go back again for such a good price too 🥰🥰
really good food and cosy atmosphere. food is always presented nicely which is a plus! would highly recommend ☺️
Great coffee, food and staff. Independent owners who are passionate about what they do. Highly recommend
Food is fairly average, price was quite expensive, quality quite good. Main issue is rude staff. Complete lack of customer service and treat customers like theyre an inconvenience, felt invisible. Wont be returning.
We when there this morning for first time, and wasnt open. Even the time table said its open. Really disappointed
Visited the place few days ago. Most of the reviews are really good so I was looking forward to it.Unfortunately I left disappointed.First of all the place is really smal it literally has only 4 tables so if you want to sit in you need to book it in advance (or wait outside like we did). I didnt know about it and I think its important.Coffee was really good and not too expensive. The only good thing about this place.Food was tasty but... Really small portion. Ordered a large portion of pancakes (£9.50plus extra strawberry (+£1.00). You can see on the picture what I received. I was really disappointed and hungry! My partner ordered a granola bowl with extra blueberries and all he got was a bowl with yoghurt with sprinkle of granola and few fruits on top.Its a great coffee shop but not a breakfast place.
Outstanding coffee, amazing layout and their brownies are to die for.
Great healthy options for breakfast in a cool setting. Highly recommend.
Really really really good. Food was excellent. We had the Social Breakfast and the Eggs Benedict and both were terrific. Coffee also excellent. Highly recommended.
Amazing food, delicious, healthy and fresh. Awesome cakes, loads of Gluten-free options. Staff were fantastic. Highly recommend. A MUST visit if you are in Cardiff.
Delicious meal and great venue. Quite disappointed by the Buddah bowl, menu said sweet potato and sesame seeds which were missing from the dish. The £4 added halloumi gets you two slices of halloumi which are delicious however not worth the price for just two. Id suggest more slices and actually adding the menu items to the dish.
Nice little place with decent coffee. I will return.
Great cafe. Daughter had the vegan breakfast which was scrummy. We will be back.
Visited Social Eats today for the first time and loved it! I’d contacted in advance and booked a table and they were really helpful. I visited with someone with allergies and Social Eats were really understanding and helpful, didn’t make us feel awkward and checked things thoroughly for us. The food was amazing, the Buddha bowls are delicious!I would happily recommend visiting here, such a lovely atmosphere inside! Can’t wait to visit again.
I had my first experience eating out at Social Eats today and I have to say what an amazing place to go for food. I had the salmon fillet with giant granola and I would definitely have it again. I highly recommend Social Eats to any who enjoys clean delicious food especially after they have done physical training session.
A lively little bar. Very friendly team.
Cozy, tranquil and splendid. Highly recommended to all
Without a doubt one of the friendliest coffee shops in Cardiff. My gf and I continuously come here as it’s a nice experience, well priced and the food is great.A couple weeks ago I even decided to buy a full biscoff cheese cake (that’s how good it waswhich they currently don’t do full sizes but we’re nice enough to accommodate and make a full one for us to bring home. That’s what I call customer service!
I stumbled on the place while it was raining, was planning to go somewhere but couldn’t resist the coziness in this place, friendly staff member and lovely cup of coffee made professionallyWould definitely come here again.
Really good coffee (just what Salisbury road was missing). The cakes/pastries look wonderful too.
Most flavoursome breakfast Ive had in Cardiff - Avocado, Vine Tomatoes with poached eggs. Absolutely delicious.
Will go again.I only popped in to get take-away cappuccinos, but I was struck by how friendly the service was. The cappuccinos were wonderful too! And very well priced.
