This funky hostel is a 6-minute walk from the beach and South Pointe Park.Basic rooms range from mixed and female-only dorms with 4 to 8 beds to private rooms sleeping 1 to 8 guests. All feature free lockers, linens and towels.Amenities include a kitchen, a laundry room, a daily happy hour and organized outings to clubs. There's an Internet cafe, a beer pong table, a sidewalk terrace, and an on-site bar open all night. The front desk and security cameras operate 24/7; all areas require key cards. Freebies consist of continental breakfast, Wi-Fi in the lobby, and a shuttle to and from Miami International Airport.
There is a man in reception with rasta he helps you with nothing is also not kind but the woman was very helpful.Thank you! Location is good but breakfast is so bad ı can throw up just the banana is good .Its one year ago but ı cant forget the bad smelling .Showers are very dirty.Internet is also bad.
I booked, before the COVID pandemic, a room for a few days in this hostel. A few weeks later, came the outbreak: borders closed, flights cancelled, hotels stopped working, etc... They simply decided that it was fair to keep all the money from the reservation, and didnt give me one single cent back. Ive been sending messages to them since March, but they dont answer any of them. think twice if you plan to stay in this hostel, because if have any trouble, you will be on your own.
So this will likely be one of a few ratings. I stayed here 3 years ago and had an amazing experience. I went back in Feb 2020 and the place is in shambles. Ok, I get that new owners have taken it over and are renovating but the conditions were less than desirable. Womens shower facilities did not lock, half to toilets did not flush, basically the place is falling apart. I will visit again once the Renos are done so I do wish the new owners the best!
1- BEWARE of where you book, specially if its not their site. I have witnessed them not having enough rooms for people who booked on booking.com. They will not give you a solution. They say the booking is done "for 12 people on just 1 bed" for example. They dont call you before you arrive. They expect you to pay extra or just leave.2- People have had ants in their beds and the stuff refused to give them a refund. Police were called and there was nothing they could do.3- Restrooms are a mess. Showers may only have cold water, they are not usually clean. Mens restroom upstairs has a closed urinal with tapes, never taken care of during my stay.4- Mattresses are ultra thin.5- I asked for a blanket because my roomates had the AC to high. They gave me a 3ft x 3ft blue sheet, which didnt cover me at all.6- Expect the staff to be SUPER friendly, and understanding. But they will not be able to solve anything. Managers dont solve anything either, but theyre A LOT more rude.7- Read the little print if youre booking on their site. Theres an extra fee for the WiFi and stuff that doesnt appear anywhere. Not in the confirmation mail, not in the FAQ where they specify whats included. I paid almost 50$ extra on arrival. Its like 4.50 per night, per person.8- Theyll charge you to change your sheets or your towel.9- I saw a HUGE cockroach just chilling on the lobby. They stepped on it and laughed, "all taken care of"10- Theyre remodeling one of the rooms. Expect noise from early in the morning, at any hour of the day.
Disgusting place. This hostel definitely need some improvement. Bathroom ms are DIRTY and always Clogged, rooms dont have any type of curtain or blinds on the window so you gotta wake up the minute that the sun rises, mattresses are terrible, tou can feel the frame of the bed, while i was there they were doing some type of construction in dorms where people were staying at, breakfast is toasts and banana only, never saw a happy hour or a tour as they advertise. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
The Nastiest place I have ever stayed at in my life. I will not ever stay here ever In life again. First and last, nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone. the reviews are not true it isn’t clean. It looks nothing like the pictures on the booking site. I wish I looked up the reviews on google before booking the stay vs booking it at a third party website.
I would give it 0 stars if I could. the bathrooms were just unacceptable. You could barely squeeze into them. and if you did, they wouldnt flush...so. The rooms are depressing. theyre doing construction and boarding up the windows. Customer service was horrendous. They didnt even provide towels even though I asked repeatedly. Not helpful at all. I knew many people who literally couldnt shower because of that (besides the fact that the showers were also disgusting/moldy). The guy with the baseball cap is the most rude and disgusting guy there. hes been there forever, but theres a new owner. I didnt think it could get worse over the years but it did...def def dont recommend. no matter how much $ you think youll save. not worth it.- poor student lol
If you are looking for place that’s low budget, safe and closer to the beach you can stay!I regret staying here, bathrooms were not clean at all, small room and not cleaned. They advertise as free breakfast but there’s a limit in food as well! You can only eat 2 bread slices and 1 banana per person!Giving 2 stars as for location and friendly front desk!
It’s like prison. Would give 0 stars, if possible.Pros: location - very walkableCons: Toilets were blocked up. Shower had caution type around it. No air conditioning. Small window unit that didn’t work properly. Customer service was nonexistent. Smell was was horrendous. No towels provided. Dirty everything. Kitchen was horrible.Again, seemed like we were in prison. I wish all the reviews reflected the hostel. We left on the first night. We did not complete our stay because it was so bad. We request reimbursement.
Good points: location.. can’t think of anything elseBad points: facilities, cleanliness, staff, comfortEverything seems like it’s either broken or about to be broken. The fridge is out of order, the toilets all have a problem either the doors don’t close or the whole toilet is out of order, even the tiles on the floor are cracked. The shower doors don’t close or the shower doesn’t run properly. The beds are really small and uncomfortable. The towels and sheets are stained. The windows don’t open in the rooms. The internet only works in the downstairs lounge which is small and uncomfortable. The staff didn’t give us any information when we checked in so we didn’t know about breakfast, happy hour, check out, or any important information.Basically we booked for two nights but stayed for one night and left because we felt so uncomfortable there. I advise you not to stay.
A poor visit, badly in need of renovation, cold showers and they do not keep full track of your deposit for the key so refuse to give you the $10 back. I waited for my deposit and got it back. Staff very kind, so sad to see them working in such run down conditions.
One of the worst experiences of my life. First of all we were 8 guys in a really small room. This room HAD NO WINDOWS. The beds were a disaster, my back was hearting every morning. I never had a warm shower, always cold water. I resisted just four days. Please never go to this place if you want to enjoy your time in Miami.
I get its a hostel and all but common! seriously! the showers have no hot water. Shower doors basically falling apart. The state of the toilets, absolute gutter! the pits! no correction, the basement of the pits! So overpriced for the private double bed standard room $98 for basically a coffin because theres absolutely zero ventilation and/or air conditioning. Only benefit you get is friendly staff and location as its a 5minute walk to Ocean Drive. Thats about it. Place is in desperate need of an overhaul
Okayish Hostel from a European perspective.A bit overpriced for what you get. Staff was friendly but the rooms and the lavatory and the showers seriously need to be refurbished.Location was good, if you want to stay in South Beach. They organize some events. Open bar formulas are okay, although the drinks are super low cost.
Dalara is the most helpful out of all! Not only is she a sight for sore eyes, shes also someone who doesnt mind going the extra mile just to help you out. Im happy to leave this hostel behind due to bad arrangement and the rooms are dirt cheap ( to be expected.. granted but I will definitely miss her outstanding service and elegant smile. To where is reading this : have an awesome day.
It’s a pretty good place for the price. Easily accessible off the 150 line, and they have free breakfast and meal deals. It wasn’t so much a party vibe, but that wasn’t an issue for me. I did not give it 5 stars because there were not enough power points (I found only 2 in the whole roomor any small lights near the bunks in the 12 person mixed dorm.
My overall stay I had no issues. I was very fortunate to have 3 other respectable roommates. Few things to be aware if you decide to stay here.-You can hear EVERYTHING outside the rooms.-A LOT of maintenance is needed on the bathrooms.-The staff is not the kindest bunch. Seems as if they dont like working there. Thats a HUGE hurdle for them.-WIFI is only available down in the main entrance. Seating area is usually full because of this. Not many outlets in rooms if you want to charge your electronics as well.-breakfast day 1- bagels, juice, coffee and 1 piece of fruit. Day 2-Choice of big waffle or a bagel with others options as day 2.Photos speak for themselves.I stayed here for business as many others I met. (Airbnb had a great priceBUT! This is ideal for the party scene. If you want sleep, quiet, privacy, comfort or anything that a hotel offers. THIS IS NOT the place for you.
Worst hostel i ve ever been!Usually I wouldnt take this much effort to write a bad review about something, as taste is very personal. However this place was so horrible that you have to think twice before going to this place. Lets first start with the positive points: they have a nice bar with a friendly bartender and the place is nice located on South beach, away from all the hot spots but close to the beach. However when paying 200 for a dorm room you expect at least a bit service. When arriving we had to pay immediately the deposit in cash for the key which was not mentioned before and was only alowed by cash not by card. When making a remark about this we got an aggressive reply by stating you signed for this!! and not even wanting to help us any further. Of course the rooms and showers were dirty but hey thats what you pay for! Except if it is 210 dollars for two persons in a dorm for one night then at least you might expect something. Furthermore the bed was broken (see picturewhich i I injured my shin with. After mentioning this it was only fixed with duck tape, which in this case didnt help at all.Lastly worth mentioning is check out time, which is stated in the house rules (which you signed for!!that it is 12 oclock however when asking at the reception it was suddenly changed to 11 and they charge you an extra 20 if you are late. For the rest snoring, dirty bathrooms and sticky tables was included in the price.PS dont fall for the free airport shuttle as they charge you ten dollars to bring you to the airport
The rooms are really small, have only two electricity plugs per room and the beds are not comfortable. No light at the bed. (1/5)Staff is very friendly and helpful. (4/5)Location of the Hostel is just amazing (5/5)
Didnt really stay here, dropped by the bar for a drink and to have some food at My Ceviche connected to the Hostel. The bar was ordinary and only accepted cash. the beer was watery. there were a lot of people hanging around the lobby and most seems to not have had a shower in a awhile. I had to use the bathroom and "Please dont" it was disgusting, the best part was that the cleaners had just fished cleaning the place and was having a drink at the bar !
There are definitely perks to staying at this hostel. It is literally a five minute walk to the beach and they have rentals you can take for free such as a beach umbrella, mats, and towels. That was amazing. They also have free breakfast in the morning. If you are wanting to meet other travelers, then this is the place to do it. There are opportunities to meet people from all over the world here. They also events every night that you could go to for a discounted rate. The bed is also affordable. Cant beat the price when staying that close to the beach. They also have free drinks from 5 pm-5:30 pm and then happy hour from 5:30 pm-7 pm. Its a cash only bar so make sure you stock up on cash. The cons of this place are that if you want to get sleep at normal hours, then this isnt where you should go. They also clean the bathrooms at the worst time (usually between 8 am and 9 am). This is when a lot of people want to get ready, but they cant because the bathrooms are being cleaned. Our room was okay. I wish I had brought my own pillow because their pillows are so flat. You can tell they have been used a lot. I woke up every morning with a headache and neck pain from sleeping on them. You will have to pay for parking and give a $100 cash deposit up front for the parking pass, so be aware of that.Overall, if you are traveling solo or want to party, I would recommend this hostel. I would also recommend it if you want to stay close to the beach and not pay and arm and a leg for a hotel. That is why we stayed here. Everything is within walking distance as far as food and entertainment. Or you can rent bicycles from the hostel or from the bike stands along the beach.
This is definitely a party hostel, so dont stay here if you want to go to sleep at a reasonable hour everyday. Theres a party bus going out every night, so always something to do with a group - great if youre traveling alone and you dont want to go out on your own. They also have free breakfasts and dinner every single day which is great for people on a budget. Very clean rooms and bathrooms as well! Theres also a small kitchen.
This place is so chill, even the front desk is so nice and chill, too. The breakfast is free, the beach rentals are free, and even there are free drinks from 5 until 5:30 pm. Also, I love the mirror wall, so big, whenever I enter the room hallway and bathrooms. Plus, its budget-friendly, so I would recommend those who rely more on their budget, as much as I do.
Worst experience ever. I would much rather sleep on the streets than inside this filthy and disgusting place. We arrived late at night and Austin checked us in. After we got our sheets and towels, we proceeded to the room which was on the second floor. Nothing like the online pictures. The place was dirty and full of mold and mildew. The room was nasty, with no ventilation at all, even though it was 67 degrees outside, it felt like 90 degrees in the room. Nothing but puddles of dirty water in the bathrooms, perfect place for disease and bacteria growth. The lockers were broken and had tape were you are supposed to secure it. They wouldn’t even refund our money specially when we never stayed. When asked Ramon for the refund, he said he needed to “protect the business” but it sounded more like protecting his money. Even after telling him that I would be sharing my experience online, he said: “Don’t worry because I will respond and lie if I have to.” Avoid at all costs!!!
Reasonably priced. The best hostel experience for your money. Great staff and customer service, fun crowd, and good vibes. The staff is so helpful and acomadating. The planned bar/club hops are so fun and you meet so many people staying at the hostel.Clean bathrooms and rooms. Large lobby space with free drinks great for pre gaming. The free breakfast is light but good!Make sure to account for the $4/day service fee in your pricing. We over looked this in our planning, but all in all it was very cheap and worth every penny.
Looooved lobby/bar area and great front desk. Disliked the beds and walls are thin so you can hear everything in the hallway. Showers and bathrooms could use some updates. Overall I was happy.
Rooms and bathrooms are clean and the receptions are nice. Kitchens doesnt look perfect but it does the job. The price might seems to be cheap but there are many better options with this price especially if youre not traveling alone. One of the problems we had was the bathroom because they clean those between 8-9 a.m. which is time for shower and getting ready. Also, reception forgot to give our IDs back so came back all the way. I wish the reception was more considerate and make the check in a bit faster.
Great hostel ever. I had a blast here. And everyone is friendly. Noone should ever book anywhere but a hostel and of your in Miami this is the one to go to. Walking distance from literally everything. And most importantly the strip and the beach. And everyone is young and cultured in there. You get free breakfast. And dinner which is super dope. And the prices are amazing.
Friendly staff as a whole but Elderly lady who works behind the bar completely diminishes any ambience the hostel is trying to muster up. Her attitude gives you the impression that she thinks she is actually doing you a favor when you order. In essence... this lady has no business working behind a bar simply because customer service is not her strong point - and as long as the hostel dont recognize this, it would always be a tainted mark on their reputation.
This hostel has a great location and the staff is friendly. However, the rooms were too simple even for a hostel. There was only two bunkbeds in our room. No shelves or places to put our stuff so that everyone had to spill their things on the floor. The beds were very narrow and hard to climb on to and as there was also no shelf up there you had to sleep with your phone and water bottle inside the bed.As linen we were only given a thin sheet. This wouldnt be a bad thing if the air-conditioning hadnt been so extremely cold. Also the hostel should remember oiling the door hinges because ALL the doors were squeaking so loudly there was no chance of getting a proper rest.Last but not least we had booked a shuttle to the airport at the reception and were happy that it was rather cheap but unfortunately the driver was not informed about this booking and it only arrived late after asking for it again.
The thing that annoyed me the most is that they dont serve free dinner AS ADVERTISED on their website. Thats straight up false advertising. They instead have a deal with a restaurant, myceviche, thats next door. The deal is between 6:30pm and 7pm you have a choice of 3 meals at 5$. Thats not really a deal if you ask me, as their prices are already high.Breakfast was disappointing also. You get one ticket for a single waffle or bagel, depending on the day, and a banana. The waffles and bagels are pretty big but still, its not much.Wifi is only available in the common room. I understand the philosophy behind this, they want people to meet up but at times its annoying. I dont like having to go there just to check if I received a message. Its especially annoying when the commun room is full or at night when they have a party happening there. The rooms are pretty small also. I was in a 8-beds mixed dorm. With everybodys luggage laying around, you dont have much space left.Other than that, everything is pretty average, what you would expect for that price.Honestly, its decent value for what theyre offering. The best thing about this place is the staff. Theyre very friendly and helpful, and some of them speak many languages such as French and Spanish. If youre looking to party, its a great place for you.
I cant say enough good things about this place! Ive stayed here 4 times throughout the 4 years Ive lived in Florida (Tampa Bayand its just the best. The location is only two blocks from the beach and they offer (limited numberresidential parking passes which have been a lifesaver for me! They always have some fun events/trips going on..Ive been to club LIV with a group put together from the hostel and I had so much fun! Staff is always friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, showers are clean, free breakfast....the list goes on and on! For real, I love this place so much!
Great location, moderately clean rooms and bathrooms, i.e. a lot or sand on the room floor.. toilet cabin was a little too small for a 6 ft guy like me but still manageable. The staff was extremely friendly, plus we got free drinks at the bar while watching the game. Overall a good experience.
I had a really great time at this hostel. I will be coming back everytime Im in town. The staff are so fun and kind! No hassles, just great vibes. The free breakfast is delicious! Lazara was a delight to meet from day one of my stay. Shes kind, funny and makes a great waffle! The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen area as well. No noise at night on the main halls which I was initially concerned about. This place is right on the bus and trolley stop! Walking distance to all the main parts of south beach, including the beach. I just loved this hostel and had a really great stay!!
I definitely recommend this hostel. Location is super convenient to/from Miami International Airport, South Beach is just couple of hundred meters away and there is diversity. Expect good breakfast and light dinner as well. Couple of restaurants nearby providing various choices. I wasnt worried about the security inside the hostel and outside with police officers fairly every after couple of minutes walk.
Very cozy spot. Value for money. Staff is very nice and helpful.free breakfast and dinner included in the price of stay. Internet is free. A lot if international guest staying there. A lot of night activities planned by the staff. The rooms are small but extremely clean, so are the bathrooms and kitchen.
I really appreciated the welcoming staff when i arrived. We each got a free beer which was a great start. The bathrooms were small and having a mirror in the room would have helped this so much. I could have done my make up in the bathroom instead of taking up valuable sink space.Being in a mixed dorm, I found it hard to change in the bathroom because it was so small. Everything seemed to be broken or out of order. One stall was out of commission because the door was hanging off the hinge. All the wash machines and the change machine were broken. Overall it was an ok place to lay my head for a couple nights in Miami.
I loved everything about this place! I literally booked a trip back when I got home. They offer free breakfast and dinner. I only made it to breakfast and they had Belgium waffles, juice and fruit. It was super good! The whole vibe and atmosphere here was perfect. The rates are good too!
I saw many water bugs in the kitchen. Staff was decent and the guests were friendly. Met many cool people. Its affordable compared to other hostels and I would go again just for the vibes amd location but the cleanliness needs a boost. Also the showers didnt always work with hot water.
Good position in town, great price. Room cleaning could be better, and lockers should be included (you have to bring you own lock). Bathroom is ok and dinner and breakfast are appropriate for a 20$/night hostel.
I stayed at Sobe Hostel & Bar from February 13, 2017 to February 18, 2017. The location was awesome, it was three blocks away from South beach! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved how the staff hosted events every night for the guests. Every day was a different day filled with different activities and events. The hostel was very clean and the amenities were great. Free Breakfast & Free Dinner every day! Keep up the good work guys!
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Clean. Large private Lockers in room. Breakfast provided. Very very colorful atmosphere. Lots of international people here. The one negative thing I experienced was cold showers all the time. Never any hot water.
Location, location, location, the rest is just plain horrible. This hostel is a party hostel, its pretty run-down, needs renovation, noisy as hell especially when its swarmed with low-quality party guests that like to scream in the hallways because they chugged vodka. The washrooms get really dirty. This is not the hostels fault. They clean everything many times a day, some travelers just do not know common courtesy. The beds are super small. Theres absolutely no proper cooking facility (no stove), not sure if there is a fridge. The mattresses are clean an 100% bed bug free because they are vinyl lined (a plus in a hostel). They offer clean linen and towels, however I would advise to bring a small sleeping bag or blanket. The food was not to my taste, its free though, so you can spend your money on more booze, like everyone else. The downstairs handicapped washroom is the way to go f you like having some space in a shower...On a positive note, the location is amazing. 2 blocks from a shocking sky blue water beach. Walking distance from Ocean Drive and the Art Deco district. The staff is friendly, always smiling and contribute to this hostel success.I will not go back as I hated my stay, might be because I am over this constant drinking trend, I also like to sleep at night and not get woken up by drunks.I have traveled around the world a lot and stayed in over a thousand hostels, this was one of the worst experience I had aside the Apple hostel (2004 Prague Czech Republicand in the hostel Casa EL Zapote dorm (2016 Semuc Champey, Guatemala).I would not recommend to anyone to stay in this dump. Its a good value if you are in your 20s and like to drink until you throw up.
Id give a 3.2. Overall, its good but there was a lot of little problems. No heater or blankets (well, you cant call what they gave us blanketsso it was kinda cold. Lockers broken. Kinda small/limited breakfast. Kinda noise (avoid rooms close to the door in the first floor especially 105But it seems good for party
Great place to stay at. The beds and bathrooms are clean. But it can get messy if there are many beds in the same room. They offer breakfast and dinner which is great! Problem is, its on first come first serve basis; so even if youre half an hour late, theres a good chance that theyll be out of food. You get a free drink as well. Overall, great place and reasonable rates.
The place was pretty cool and a GREAT location. The biggest reason why I wont give them 5 stars is simply because you cannot drink your own alcohol anywhere but your room or the kitchen, because they want you to buy the alcohol from the bar. However, it was still an amazing experience.
The staff were all cool and helpful. There was a diversity with people staying. The complimentary food was good to have but wasnt amazing. The bathrooms and rooms were clean for the most part. The open bar was a rip off mostly soda barely any alcohol. The daily party set up an sign up was cool.
Bedrooms were very noisy, and not clean. Have to make your own bed And are given blankets fit for a small child, not an adult. Breakfast was decent considering it was free. Bathrooms were discusting and staff was rude. Wont be staying there again.
Worst hostel ever. The rooms are dirty and lack openable windows; causing unpleasant smells to cover the whole place. The music in the hall is ridiculously loud and wont stop playing until around 4:00 am; making it impossible to get some decent sleep. The staff at the counter is incapable of handling even the most basic situations (they lost my ID twice!)The restrooms came straight out of a horror movie: they stink of urine and theres a single toilet for all the guests on a floor (1 toilet for 25+ people; are you serious?)So if you care about your life and want to have a good time in Miami please stay the hell out of this place.
Spent a great weekend in South Beach hostel. The rooms and furniture are very minimalistic and nothing to brag about, but they get the job done. More importantly the space is very clean, and it seemed like there was always someone on shift cleaning the place up. The staff was also very friendly and helpful which made our stay that much more enjoyable. Overall, this is a great hostel, and I would recommend it to anyone!
