We went for post dinner cocktails, and So bar didnt disappoint, nice atmosphere and great drinks.

Really intimate, good music and food

Great bar, great service, great cocktail menu - terrible music! Pounding dance music at 6pm on a Friday evening didn’t match the clientele or the vibe they were aiming for at all. Could’ve been 5 star if the music enhanced the experience!

This place could maximise its profit of they could make more than 1 drink every 10 minutes. You can’t order at the bar so if you can’t find a table you can’t get a drink.Oh well, drinks are nice though.

Staff forgot our order several times, food took an hour to arrive and at some point they brought the bill without us asking for it, when we were still waiting for food and drinks. Rude. Tapas were really good, cocktails meh.

Best bar/restaurant in the area by far. Drinks are well priced and good. Staff is amazing and the food is banger. Would deffo recommend especially if you’re getting ripped off by the hotels nearby.

My regular haunt when in Richmond and never been disappointed.  Having booked for 2 people online requesting the table by the window as I am in a foot cast , extremely disappointed that we were shunned to the back in a corner.  We were told the table is for 4 people but the table was vacant when we arrived and it wasnt busy. Asked to sit there and if they needed the space later, wed move.  The friendly staff asked the manager who was unwilling to accommodate.  Having had one drink,  the table was still vacant so we asked a member of staff again if we could move. Yet again the manger declined so we left. Irony is, we would have stayed longer had she been accommodating and flexible. Was I being discriminated because I was in a cast???

Came in on Saturday with my partner and sat at the bar. We were served by Ariana, Ana and Omri - what a delightful bunch! Cocktails were great, the service was superb and the music was also fab. I have been to So Bar countless times and as always, would recommend it to anyone!

Delicious, high quality cocktails. Only downside is that the service is quite slow and the tall bar stool seating is uncomfortable after a while so you sadly can’t stay for a whole evening!

Super intimate and cosy. So it’s a good spot for a date! Drinks were great. A bit pricey but as you’d expect from the area. The staff were also very friendly

The ambience is very lovely, the cocktails supreme. I loved that it is tucked away and all the staff especially Isheka were excellent in customer service.

Glad that I made a reservation because they were so busy that we wouldnt have got in otherwise!Brought my brother along who just turned 19, and the staff said that under 21 year olds arent allowed in the bar. But that as hes with us (and we are over 21that its okay.Would have been very disappointed otherwise! Never heard of such a rule really.Overall, a very nice cocktail bar with a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

30 mins and the drinks never came. Had to leave and go somewhere else! Felt bad for the waiter who was a lovely bloke and trying his best but it really was hopeless

My little secret bar...not any more! These guys deserve a shout out from all of Richmonds rooftops. The cocktails transported me back to exotic destinations where I tasted similar flavours; Bahamas, Mexico, South East Asia - delicious! The staff are so friendly and attentive. Cant wait to go back.

We went about 2 months ago, but I completely forgot to leave my review! This bar has such a lovely, cosy atmosphere. It was freezing outside and the interior was so inviting and warming, we just couldn’t resist!Cocktails were delicious, we went during happy hour and were left very happy! Prices were reasonable, service was very speedy and the staff were very friendly! Thank you for a lovely unexpected surprise!

Small, cozy place for wine and/or cocktails. I visited the place midweek, wasnt that busy,. Theyve got area upstairs for private hire. Nice ambience and friendly people. I missed the-happy hour, but still affordable. No loud music, so you can easily have a proper chat. Will visit again, recommended if you are looking for a hidden gem in Richmond.

A really nice wine bar and tapas place in Richmond. Great friendly service and prices are reasonable. We didnt eat but the tables next to us ordered food that looked amazing.

All staff seemed very miserable. The waitress we had was incredibly rude throughout the night and when I asked why she dismissed me with her finger in my face. At that point we decided to leave. Thanks for making our birthday celebration so special. With service like this I suspect you won’t be open too long 🙌🏼

Had a really enjoyable evening at So Bar this week. Cocktails were great, Paella sublime and, best of all, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of low-key sophistication with cosy/relaxed. It ended up being a pretty long evening (in hindsight starting at quarter past five was possibly a mistake, but the 2-for-1 deal was quite attractive..)Staff were brilliantly friendly and attentive, table service was efficient and well-timed.Ill give five-stars next time if you get some rye whiskey in so I could enjoy my beloved classic Manhattan. Let me know!

I came here on Tuesday with a friend, and I have to say this is the cutest little cocktail bar I have ever been to! And the staff were so lovely! The waitress was kind and funny and the boys behind the bar were amazing! (And the drinks were good too!10/10 would recommend!

Had an excellent time at So Bar.Despite the unfortunate/cringey pun business name -- So Bar (sober-- they actually have a few decent cocktails. They even made me an Eclipse which most places wont do. Our server -- Hayden -- was very friendly, helpful, and timely.Would definitely go back again.

It is nice to find a cocktail bar whose "mixologist" (sicmakes my favourite cocktail, a Pina Colada, properly.The ambiance was just the right side of lively. The seating was of the correct height and patron separation.My wife and I popped in for a quick "nose wetting" before seeing Noel Cowards Private Lives at Richmond Theatre.

A really disappointing evening. Despite the bar being empty, the service was extremely slow and it took 30 mins to bring over 3 simple cocktails. When we questioned the speed of the service, the manager rudely replied There is only 2 of us here! I appreciate that a new member of staff was being trained up but the courteous thing would be to inform the customer that service may be slow due to staff training, so they are aware on arrival. The quality of the cocktails were also disappointing. We raised our concerns with the manager who was extremely rude and had NO customer service skills. I will not be returning here again or recommending it to friends and family, which is a real share as it use to be a lovely cocktail bar!!

The drinks were great and very original, and we mostly had a nice time, but the service ruined the experience for me. During the last half an hour we were reminded 3-4 times that our time was almost up, and then at 7pm the waiter started clearing our table despite the fact that I wasnt finished with my drink yet and we were just waiting for two of our party to return from the bathroom. When confronted with this the waiter claimed the next party had arrived and was waiting for the table, which we discovered quickly was a blatant lie. We left without making a fuss aside from asking for my drink back, but the interaction left a bitter taste in our mouths.

Visited last night with a friend after a long pause due to lockdown and restrictions.Not one thing has changed since before the lockdown. Atmosphere is easy going, chilled and friendly. Staff super nice, professional and welcoming and cocktails are luscious just as before.An absolute local gem. Highly recommend and cant wait to go back!

Such a great intimate friendly bar to enjoy our first date out of Lock down.Dont forget to book ahead of arriving. Youll be warmly greeted at the door and shown to your seat. The staff are fun & friendly. Just go and enjoy.

Based in Richmond, the bar is nicely located in a quiet spot (its in an alleyway, so can be easily missed). Really nice ambience for both intimate settings or for groups. Offers non alcoholic mocktails amongst a litany of other drinks. Welcoming staff as well

Been this bar a few times and its one of the better bars in Richmond.Quite a small bar but the staff are very friendly and attentive and the drinks are good.Recommend booking due to popularity and size.First time weve visited since lock down and felt quite uncomfortable. The tables are 1 metre apart but seem a lot closer when people are sitting in them and so the social distancing seems difficult especially when you have a big group next to you. We only stayed 30 mins or so of our 2 hour booking which was pretty disappointing.I understand they have to make money and the website said the bar is only half capacity but it seemed pretty normal.

Very welcoming and cosy space! The staff is friendly and the drinks are good, with a good selection and variety to choose from.

Ridiculously slow service. Average cocktail, but thats too nice to say. We saw our cocktails melting on the counter before the staff served them to us, jocking and caring about their phones.

Good venue. Good wait staff and good vibe. However for a cocktail bar the cocktails are quite below average. The pisco sour was terrible (for a Saturday evening you’d expect to have the highest quality bar staff on, right?not recommended if you know you’re cocktails...

let me caveat this review with explaining we were here mid-afternoon and this place feels like a late night place.Having said that, I agree with the review below ... happy hour was pretty standard.Almost every table has a reserved sign discouraging us staying long.And although the menu said food was available from 2pm - apparently the kitchen doesnt open until 5pm?

We popped in on Thursday evening around 11 oclock.Cool atmosphere, nice music playing in the background but we could still have a conversation.What makes a big difference is the table service, no need to queue to get served. Staff is very attentive and friendly.Cocktails are amazing!Deffinetly recommended and definitely going back!

Great bar. Lovely atmosphere and very nice variety of both unique and classic cocktails. Must try the roasted peanuts along with your drinks!!
