Snapper Rocks in Darwin

Our experience started with the Gin which was yummy then we got the whole snapper the flavours were punchy and yummy but so filling. The service was good some big tables kept staff on their toes but they were attentive and pleasant highly recommended

From Melbourne! We headed to Darwin for a relaxing holiday! And many restaurants in Darwin are quiet slow and hardly any service! But that all changed when we headed to Snapper Rocks!My partner and I went 2 nights we were in town! We didn’t have a booking and we did go on busy days! (One being a busy Saturday night)Staff were so wonderful and friendly as they managed to squeeze us in both nights!Everything was amazing! We had the whole snapper, steak, prawns, burger and gnocchi across the two times we visited! And everything was AMAZING! Drinks were so great too! And speedy service even when they were quiet busy!The stand out for us was wonderful BELLA! Our waitress both nights! She was so efficient, kind, knowledgeable, patience and helpful throughout our nights! She honestly made our experience so enjoyable! We did not find that kind of service anywhere else in Darwin! And we did eat at lot of places! All the other staff were sweet also! We couldn’t recommend Snapper Rocks more!:)

After a disappointment at another Darwin based high end restaurant, this terrific little place restored my faith in the Darwin foodie scene.All our dishes were faultless, clean eating and delicious.The servers were very attentive and all smiling throughout. Its clear the employees are happy to work here.I cant wait to come here again. Highly recommend.We had croc bao, snapper cervice, Carpentaria bugs, and the Barra main all to share (2 of us). Absolutely incredible, well done

Enjoyed the happy hour mango daquries, not the iciest. Staff were ok but not overly friendly or efficient. Great waterfront location and cooling water misting in the outdoor verandah section.

Great food, location & service. So good to be served by people who understand where their produce is sourced & how the dishes are constructed to compliment flavours. Highly recommended, try the Crocodile, Barramundi & Snapper.

Our food was very good. Service was friendly and efficient. A nice range of cocktails. Good atmosphere. It was nice to sit outside on the verandah. Don’t think that you will be disappointed.

Great restaurant in the waterfront precinct. Food was brilliant and great portion sizes too. Definitely try the crocodile, was delicious. Customer service was fantastic and beverages were on point.

We had a dinner booking for fathersday. First dish was yum we had Salt and pepper Crock. From there it went downhill. Ordered oysters 2 ways spicy bacon and cheese and Thai vinagaret. The spicy bacon and cheese tasted like ham and cheese and overpowered the oyster. When the Thai was served it tasted like red curry sauce on top. Told the waiter it was terrible and then had the Manager argue with me about the sauce. Barramundi was soggy skinned and uncooked in the middle and the wifes Gnocci was terrible. Defs would not recommend to anyone.

Great looking place, awesome location. Food was very tasty and well presented. Service was ok, had to actually ask for our order to be taken after waiting 30 minutes. Other than that, enjoyed our visit, would definitely come back.

Sat on the terrace for lunch. We had to ask for cutlery and the food came before the drinks. I had the wonderful experience of having water drip on me from the water misters. When the food came the buttermilk chicken was breaded chicken deep fried, not what we ordered more like a small schnitzel. Safe to say we wont be going back.

Had a beautiful dinner at Snapper rocks with our 2 little children. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating with our boys. Delicious food, an excellent dining experience.

Enjoyed some absolutely delicious reef fish croquettes and an eye fillet cooked perfectly. Amazing service by Mairica really made the night memorable! Will be back.

Walked up and very politely asked if we could have a few drinks whilst we enjoyed the views, said we didn’t need table service and would only stay for a few drinks. The lady at the counter said no, the outside table I had pointed to happened to be booked at 5pm, so I asked about the other 7, she said all are booked at 5pm. So we walked over the road and sat and watched as one table turned up that was booked at 5pm, then 3 others turned up booked for 6pm it would seem. Now 6:20 and there are still 3 free tables. I enquired at 4pm. Top marks to terrible customer service and top marks to a terrible management team. Won’t ever return no matter how good the reviews.

At the recommendation of a friend we went to Snapper Rocks as a group of 6. I had previously checked out the menu and could see there was quite a variety of options including sea food and kids options. I am coeliac and there were lots of choices for me. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed sharing 3 small plates with my husband: prawns, crocodile and fish. The kids enjoyed their kids meals and our friends had lamb and laksa which they said was delicious. Overall a very pleasant evening with great food and atmosphere.

Crocodile and prawns shared for entree then Barramundi, Snapper fillet, Steak, and grilled fish & chips plus kids bolognaise (for a large group- everyone thrilled with their meals!!!Thank you!!!

The food was absolutely sensational. The only thing that can get more perfect is the size of the dish, or at least adding some sort of starch for people whove got a big appetite for good foods.The flavour and freshness of the fish was 👌

Rated 5 stars because I cant give it 6.Food is sensational fresh and great flavours.Staff arr wonderful and friendly.Great location. I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the view and watch the wheel light up.Went there 2 nights in a row and had the barramundi and the Poke bowl both where great.

This meal made my day. We shared a salt and pepper croc which, amazingly, came with a delicious shaved slaw salad; a perfect balance to the crunchy crocodile. The standout was the crispy skinned barramundi cooked to silky perfection, served with the right amount of vegetables. Very satisfied that we have tasted the top end food served with some thought to balance. Simple but sophisticated.

Our experience was okay, however the foods were bit salty.

Went with great expectations, left with disappointment (and hunger). Ordered the barramundi. What arrived was a plate with three chips, about 6 beans and a piece of barramundi no more than 3 inches square. Cost $42. Called the waiter and tried to explain that a barramundi was a fish, not a pattie of ???. He took the plate and came back 10 minutes later with a plate containing 3 chips, 6 beans and a piece of fish about 3 in x 6 or 7in. Staff were friendly, service quick but when you go looking for a hamburger afterwards.............

I’ll start by saying that I had high hopes for this restaurant. We arrived with a party of four and no booking on a busy Friday night. The staff were super accomodating and arranged a table for us which was amazing! We were seated and drinks were order. As drinks arrived we placed our entree and mains order. The entrees arrived about 15 minutes after our drinks this is where the good review ends. We waited for over an hour and half for mains from the time of ordering to when we received our meals. At one point we asked on how long they’ll be and the staff seemed confused that we had any more ordered. Finally after asking for a third time time we received our meals which were delicious despite the fact we were incredibly tired and fatigued from our wait. We were able to negotiate a 10% discount despite asking for 20%. Overall we walked away with a sour taste in our mouth about the entire experience.

Absolutely loved everything about Snapper rocks. Staff were great, gin & cocktails were amazing and cant recommend the 4 course chefs menu enough! The BEST salt & pepper crocodile in Darwin hands down!

Bit disappointed with meal here. Barramundi was terrible - dried out and tasteless, Ive never experienced this before. Manager barely acknowledged polite feedback. One waitress repeatedly ignored dirty plates on table.New UK waiter and waitress were attentive, friendly and apologetic.Not a great meal for nearly $70.

Very pleasant restaurant at the Darwin waterfront.Has inside and outside dining, for lunch and dinner.When it is hot, mist sprays keep you cool.Extensive menu of snacks and full meals.Went there 4 times during our stay. All meals were excellent. Good, attentive service. Reasonable, prices.

All the staff were very friendly and food and drinks were very nice too. It was our first time and wont be the last. We were impressed by the range of the dishes on the menu too. They deserve 5 stars but if I can say one thing to improve, the steak had bitter taste to it, which is usually caused by uncleaned grill (burnt bits left on the grill).

Great restaurant, nice environment in the Waterfront makes it enjoyable to spend time with family. The staff welcome you upon arrival and ask you if want to sit inside or outside. The staff are friendly and nice to have a good conversation with.The menu has a great variety and its always good to ask the staff about special meal.

Me and my husband went for a dinner on our anniversary and food was nice but the staff member who took us to the table was not pleasant, we didn’t feel welcomed. Through whole time she never smiled and when we are going to pay the bill she talked to us with a attitude like she had to pay our bill. Never going to this place again and never recommend to anyone.She ruined our day, I’m also working in the hospitality industry and never treat our customers like this. Managers, please train this lady to be helpful

Have been to Snapper Rocks a few times and rate it highly for consistently good food and the service is not bad either. My one "first world" complaint is with the Lamb Shoulder. Had it recently and it was not good, the first time it was perfection! Everything else weve ever had has been very good, including the Baos, the poke bowls, S&P Crocodile, Snapper and the steak.Highly recommend!

Arrived at 6pm to find the place empty but somehow they ran out of laksa.The service was fast for the drinks - ordered the frozen mango daiquiri cocktail, it was a bit sour.Potato Chips aren’t listed on the menu. Only nori chips (seaweed- probably should update the menu for clarification. FYI you can order the nori chips or potato chips.Our Waitress, Julia, was polite and well-mannered. Kudos to you. She was very attentive and checked on us to see if our meals were okay.Place was clean - all tables were set.I ordered the Gnocchi, it was beautifully presented, not thrown together. It was also very well seasoned. I would definitely recommend come here. Thank you to the chefs, our table of 7 people had beautiful meals, not one complaint from us.

Food rated out of maximum 5 "yum yums"...Fish wings- 5Salt and pepper crocodile - 4.5Mango cocktail - 4.5Focaccia with 2 dips - 4Snapper crudo - 3.5Cauliflower popcorn - 3Carpentaria Bay lobster -3 (but Im not a huge fan of crustaceans)The 5 stars is to get the average to 4.4

Experience my first time having Mortan Bay bugs and it was amazing and soft and delicious with the garlic butter herb sauce. Customer service is excellent, friendly and helpful. Main dish of spaghetti bolognaise was the absolute BOMB... great food, great company and outside tables was a nice idea.

What a great spot to grab a drink and enjoy the lovely sunny weather in Darwin.We went during snappy (happyhour and had fresh mango daquaris and Alice spring pale ale beers for reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Quick service and fantastic drinks from a well-stocked bar. Food was good and the outlook was to the waterfront. Would come back.

I had lunch here today and it was amazing the food and service was great and I would happily come here again next time I was in Darwin. I had the salt and pepper crocodile boa buns and the fish wings and they where both devine.Highly recommend coming here!

Fantastic friendly restaurant experience that serves interesting array of excellent dishes and a great drinks menu.

Lovely place for lunch, the food is delicious! We had salt and pepper squid and a salmon poke bowl. The poke bowl was amazing! Service is nice too and they have a great selection at the bar!

Nice selection of cocktails, beers and spirits. Food is okay my favorite was the side dish corncob. My main course was Buffalo steak. It’s nice presented on the plate but the steak was way to salty. I did not return the food as I don’t want to waste the food. So I finished the whole steak luckily I got roasted corncob as side to balance the saltiness. I believe it’s a chef’s mistake probably accidentally put too much salt on my steak. All in all, it’s a nice restaurant with attentive waiting staff. I’ll try one more time and hope that time my food is all good.

We stopped for relaxing long lunch here. I had the spicy chicken burger. While it was full of flavour and very tasty there was no spice. 9/10. My daughter had salt n pepper squid. It was very tasty Not over cooked. And just the right portion size. 9/10. My wife had the Bao bun with battered reef fish, the fish and salad was excellent although the bun it’s self was more chewy than is normal and seemed like it was frozen not fresh ~ that’s a thought not a fact she gave it 7/10. We shared the green paw paw salad which is a quintessential Darwin salad. I think the chef has had a crack at reinventing it and the salad we had was a collision of a Thai green curry and a more traditional Pawpaw salad. Not sure if it worked. Was a little rich and creamy. I love the creativity though.The table service was excellent 10/10

Delicious food and great service! Oysters, Poke bowl and the Fish Burger was excellent. And you have to try the mango Daiquiri!

Went here on Valentine’s Day with my partner and can’t say a bad word about the place.We felt adventurous (and hungry !so we ordered the seafood sharing platter for starters and the beef for seconds.To be honest, the seafood board is more then enough !Luckily they were nice enough to change our large meal to a smaller one with the beef.They give you the option between large and small for main dishes.Both dishes were excellent. The seafood board gave us a nice selection of local seafood with homemade dipping sauces.The beef although we were quiet full, was extremely well cooked and had a great taste.Overall a very satisfying experience ! Little bit expensive, but this translates into quality and service.

I have eaten here a few times and each time the meal has been excellent. It is in a great location near the water front with ample parking close by. This restaurant is dog friendly.

This is my fourth time here now in a few days. The food has been wonderful, such flavorsome dishes. All of the staff members have been fantastic, very friendly and happy to chat and offer excellent service. Great value and a place you must dine at if you are here on the Darwin Waterfront. Or pop in for a drink and enjoy the view. Thank you for making my last day in Darwin enjoyable and relaxed.

We read about this restaurant in our Qantas inflight magazine and decided to give it a try. Overall the food was really good. A lot of taste and cooked on point. Serving style is meant for sharing but smaller portions are also available if you want to have a main course for your own. The dessert (grilled pineapple with milk ice creamwas very tasteful!

Yummy food, pretty location - the wait was long due to 2 big groups ordering before us but all in all we loved our visit!We shared 2 small and 2 large shares (smaller optionwith 3 and all had dessert. Total bill was close to 200 AUD.
