Slovenska Hiša in Ljubljana

A must visit place in Ljubljana. Ide for breakfast, snack or simply to have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. We went there several times during our stay in Ljubljana.

Worst eggs I’ve ever eaten. We came this morning for a nice breakfast and got TOTALLY tasteless eggs that were still snooty (undercooked). We both ordered the veggie ones with cottage cheese and pesto. I was so hungry I forced myself to eat some and left most… def never coming again.

Very nice place for breakfast, inside there is a beautiful floor and superfriendly staff waiting for you. Slovenian products, incl vegetarian options. Try the strawberry juice, it is yummie!

Excellent service with some very friendly waiters. We had the Prekmurska Slovenian dessert specialty which was very well presented, consistent with all the layers, but honestly not a desert I would have again (It’s just a matter of taste, you should definitely come to this place to try it yourself though). Coffee was great. Place is very cosy and local.

I loved this spot in Ljubljana. Its right on the river and has great brunch. I had their vegetarian eggs which were delicious. You can add on Rose with your brunch as well which was a nice addition.

Very disappointing breakfast and service, but decent location.

The cocktail was called Slovenian mojito. But it had nothing to do with a mojito or a good cocktail. It just tasted like nothing and boring, the same with the "black Hugo" of my friend.We were disappointed of the drinks, the staff is friendly and the place nice.

Went here for beverages and snacks. Reasonable prices for drinks and they have only locally sourced food and drinks (as an example, they don’t have Aperol Spritzwhich I enjoyed and appreciate.

Ive been there during a vacation. The dishes are all very good, particular and well served. Very recommended

The old style of serving the turkish coffee was a nice touch, as well as the deserts on thin wooden boards.

Pretty riverside cafe with good coffee. We popped in to hide from the rain but it was already busy with the breakfast crowd and the plates coming out looked delicious.

No food at lunchtime (kitchen ran out of foodLemonade with bugs. Unfriendly staff. Meh.

We had some great food here. However, the service wasnt the best. The staff were friendly but lots of things went wrong. They brought out 1 main dish whilst we were still having our starter. The mains came at different times with about a 20 min wait in between meaning that the first person who got their meal finished it before the next person got theirs. They also gave us the wrong main dish and that was after the wait. Again the food was really good and the staff were nice but lots of things went wrong.

Fantastic bar along the river - the staff were so friendly and helpful, plus everything is delicious! All the food is Slovenian, with many different meat and cheese boards available. We ordered the protected characteristics food board for 1, and it easily served us both for a full meal! The cocktails (rusalkawere incredible too!

A really nice place to have breakfast also for dinner if you’re in to local cold cuts and cheese. The staff is really friendly.

I just stopped by for some tea to pass the time before my train departed, but the staff was very friendly and the service was great. Awesome location as well.

Service was bad - they are either severely understaffed or the waitresses don’t go around and follow up.We came here on a weeknight and it was around 15 minutes to get a drink - that’s fine, they looked busy. We never got a follow up with ordering a second drink though.Decided to come back for breakfast the next morning. We got our menu right away, but almost 20 minutes later our waitress never came back to take our order, so we left and went elsewhere. Looking around, we saw a few other people with menus still that hadn’t placed orders.

There is gibanica on the menu - a traditional Slovenian dessert - and a good one. Should be included on Google maps information.

Nice restaurant in the centre of the city for having dinner. They only serve cold tapas. There’s a wide range of cheese and different types of ham to choose from. The staff is very nice and efficient. Price is quite good, a bit expensive but you are also paying the location.

Literally ice instead of cocktails. These people cheap-skate so badly it makes me sick. You dont feel any alcohol in the drink, only water and ice - it makes me incredibly upset to pay an insane price, around 6 euro, for what we got - just ice.Was so disappointing we had to go somewhere else to get some proper drinks. Only thing they have going for them is location. Their cheap-skating made me resent the place and we wont be coming back here.

Hi, i ate here today.Im from Italy and i wanted to eat a good slovenian dish.Here i ate the best dessert in my Life, thank you, and a good cheese plate with a very special dip.Unfurtnately i cant speak well english so i wanted to Say this.

Great place to come for some Slovenian platters, coffee, drinks. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in town.We loved their cheese platter with selection of Slovenian cheese.

You neee to grab the attention of a waiter, but once you do, you get great food and drinks with tips according to your tastes. I highly recommend the cheese platter and any Rusalka drink. The local gins are quite good

Lovely spot at the river recommended by our Ljubljana Food Tour guide. Local Slovenian cuisine and good for brunch/lunch. The serving took a bit longer however much worth the wait.

Fantastic. Great for some drinks and a plate of assorted meats and cheese. Try the "Forest Delicacies" plate, unbelievable price/quality.

Very authentic place, beautiful location, serving exclusively slovenian products.They also have the best iced coffee in Slovenia if you ask me.😍 Looking forward to having breakfast here next time were in Ljubljana, since this time we only made it for a drink.

Nice concept and friendly service, eggs were really good. However there are no light breakfast options… I am sure there is fruit that grows in Slovenia that would make it possible to have a fruit salad. And no black tea? Coffee beans do not grow in Slovenia either but there is coffee on offer.

Great place for nice snacks and drinks. They have delicious patê, cheese and meat board. Perfect for evening time.

Nice breakfast spot. The food is good and very reasonably priced. Breakfast comes with your choice of plate and a drink. The egg dishes are flavorful and just the right amount of food. Good service.

Great meat & cheese platter with local wines. Had wild boar, homemade fermented foods and theyre not pickles but zucchini.

My favourite place to have coffee in Ljubljanja.It is right of the centers very center, on the banks of the river aaaaand... For like 4 EUR you get a full pot (local name džezvaof delicious, hot, freshly brewed coffee and s small bottle of fresh milk, together with two tin cups to drink from. It is ancient Slavic tradition you dont want to miss 💕If you go there, and I honestly hope you will, order Cankarjeva coffee.They also serve traditional breakfast, and it smells delicious. But, you know... Coffee 😍

This cafe-restaurant draws its inspiration from Slovenias local, rural traditions with meat and cheese platters in particular. Sitting outside by the river is nice when the weather is good.

19/05/2019 - came back couple of years later and this place is still awesome! They serve Slovenian delicacies only, even tea is local. Must try their platters!You just have to try the sandwich with krajanska sausage! Very good local food and beer. Affordable prices. Must try!

The pumpkin scramble with salami and the “pastirska” scramble with pesto were delicious. Staff were nice and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Good breakfast place by the river. The food is cheap, less than 12 euros for 2 people, plus coffee.We shared the eggs with garlic pesto and the mixed platter. Both were pretty good. Well worth a visit when in Slovenia!

Cute little breakfast spot by the river. Freshly baked bread and a handful of jams to choose from. The hill eggs with pork crackling was yummy!!Friendly service and reasonable prices!

Perfect coffee (Cankars coffeeLovely food(štruklji with walnuts), superb service(friendly personell), clean, accommodating, gracious and so cosy. I think your place is absolute perfection. Super great coffee - super great food - super great job. It wasnt my first time at Slovenska hiša and Ill be back for sure.

Located by the river, place for a quick bite accompanied by local wine with wild deer prosciutto and fantastic scenery. If you are on a stroll in the centre I would highly recommend a visit.

We dined here on several occasions and had overall good experiences, one time we didnt end up ordering despite sitting for nearly 10 minutes waiting, regardless they are often busy and there are plenty of other places close by. We had some great breakfast specials here and the service was always friendly, albeit prompt. Very reasonable pricing and a great spot for people watching.

If you like watching 3 groups of people who arrived 20 minutes after you get their food 20 minutes before you, this is the place to be. If you like water downed cocktails, look no further. What about small portions? Then this place is perfect for you.Beers not bad though. Nice little venue with cool mood lighting in the evening. Youre better off going next door to either the Captains Cabin or Kavarna Divine.Overall. The waitress was sympathetic, offered us some cake and a shot to make up for it, grossly underestimated how long it would be, we waited an hour+ for food. Beer is cheap. Cocktails watery. Long waits. Nice views. Food wasnt too bad, but its not a meal, more afternoon tea level size.Would recommend for a pint, maybe not the food.

This place looks fancy, is next to the river and what is the most important, the breakfast was super delicious. Their home made bread is a heaven in your mouth. The prices are also good.

Great service, great ambience and view of the river. Good beer but the collection is only alright, not extraordinary. The food selection is severely limited. The taste is great, but hardly any choice. Overall, a good place for a fun night out.

Great canal side spot with small plates and unique cocktails. Prices are very reasonable and the service was attentive.
