It's also 3.4 km from the Hill of Slane and 10.7 km from Navan Golf Club. The functional dorms feature en suite bathrooms and accommodate 6 to 12 guests. Linens and towels are also provided. Cottages add private bedrooms and separate living and dining areas. There's a 24-hour guest kitchen on-site, as well as a communal dining area and outdoor BBQ area. Other amenities include laundry facilities, a guest lounge and free WiFi, plus a game room with a lending library of DVDs and board games.
Very pleasent place. Enjoyed being there
Basic camp site but meets all needs. Cheap and cheerful. The staff are very friendly which really adds to the place. Handy location for site seeing
Camped for two nights. A great little site
The hosts were amazing. We arrived a week early by accident and they managed to give us a room although they were busyGemma was amazing giving us a lift into the town and picking us up when we could not get a taxi. Accomodation is basic but good for touring the area.
Refused to stay - very sloping pitch, unhygienic water facilities
Awesome place! Camping, cottages, and dorm rooms. Super accommodating staff, and helpful! Clean rooms, kitchen facilities, books, playpark for kids, interesting area. Close to the Newgrange monument, Battle of the Boyne, Slane Castle and distillery. Not far from Drogheda and all the major shops and attractions. Bettystown and Laytown has the best beach, cool shops, pubs etc and is about 25 minutes away. Slane farm hostel is my go-to place when going to Dublin Airport which is only 40 minutes away.
A group of our guests stayed at Slane Farm for our recent wedding. The owners were really friendly and everything was perfect. Thanks.
Stayed 2 nights camping, ideal location and great facilities. Spoke to Gordon on phone, very friendly and accomadating. Met Gemma on check-in, lovely helpful lady. Highly recommend this campsite.. Excellent, thank you!!
We were here last week for my dads burial in Slane. We rented 3 cottages and the whole experience was way beyond our expectations. I was a little worried when I saw the word “hostel” but these cottages were perfect! Gemma was an outstanding communicator and host.I will certainly share this place with any friends visiting and will return for another stay in the future.
Fabulous stay with family for 4 days. Fantastic hosts who were so kind & helpful. Safe, comfortable rooms with everything you need to self-cater. Close enough to Dublin Airport for quick pickups/dropoffs is an extra bonus. Highly recommend.
Really clean nice and friendly .And gave us a lift too our wedding 👍
Lovely place to stay with family and friends. Everything you need and plenty of beds. In the Boyne Valley and close to the sights. If you like whiskey and the distillery at Slane Castle is open, stop by! Cute animals and friendly staff. Even gave me a ride into town to save me a hike with a heavy pack. I plan to come back with my family.
Friendly welcome. Has a campers kitchen which exceeded expectations. And has hens whose eggs can be had for breakfast.
Lovely little campsite with playground, sandpit, animals and forest for collecting firewood. My kids had such a lovely time here. Only negative is the lack of any soap or sanitizer in the kitchen/bathrooms, which is concerning during a pandemic..
Great place. Gordon is a great host. Perfect place for going with a campervan or tent. Showers, toilets and a small kitchen with all you need (cooker, kettle, microwave, fridge). I strongly recommend this place. Thanks folks.
Incredible venue and facilities, host was amazing too. Recently here for a team building weekend and it was an incredible time. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or host. Highly reccomend.
Gemma was absolutely amazing. Looked after a group of us very well and was very accommodating. I would highly recommend the place!
Top site and family. Love Slane And whiskey tour in castle . Book early for concerts
We have stayed only one night in the cottage. It was a very good cottage. It is spacious, well equipped, the shower is very strong. The host is very helpful to advise us the dinner places.... there is also an donkey and a little playground for kids! We like it! And it’s is just 3 min drive to city centre and 1 min drive to the slane castle...
Friendly welcome on arrival, but the camping facilities could be improved: hot water and soap to be provided in the toilets and the kitchen units to be upgraded and cleaned.
Awesome gig. Available food for slane was event poor and over priced. Slane farm hostel should try and have a better variety for such a large attendance
Lovely, relaxing spot. Hosts are so friendly and accommodating. Its like a home away from home. High recommended! 5 stars
*This review is specifically related to the camping (camper vanfacilities for the Slane concert in 2019*The facilities were NOT as advertised - it was basically an empty field.24/7 Security - a teenager at the gateOn-site catering - did not existShowers - did not existToilets - a few portaloos at one corner of the field. Of very little use at night as there was only a single lighting pole for the entire area, leaving the majority in total darkness.Overall, was paying more for much worse conditions than were available at another campsite just down the road. A complete rip-off.
Not too bad was there for the metallica concert. Not enough toilets for the females.
Stayed here for Metallica for 2 nights... loads of room and site also had toilets which were kepts surprisingly clean and stocked...well done to all staff for this, there were also showers and food vans onsite. Food wasnt great and was overpriced but had brought food with me so wasnt a huge issue. Would stay here again for sure. There was also a playground onsite which im sure is available for when families camp here. 40 minute walk from slane town so about 10 mins drive.
Very well organised for camping at the Slane festival event, reccomend for young and old as facilities for camping were accessible and clean!
Put into a field across from hostel.. No hook ups.. No running water.. No where to drain black tank.. Very disappointed. Payed 32 euro per night. Had to stay 2 nights on account of Metallica concert.. Travellers came into site and stayed till they were kicked out.. Watching everything.. Worried in case motor home would be broken into..
Handy place to stay for the Metallica gig but the only thing I would say is the toilets werent working properly and there wasnt enough food Vans for that amount of people.
Metallica 2019. Super well organised. Great directions. Signposted. They had a cute farmers house with chicken and a playground. Closed those for the festival crowd as no need. Load of amenities shower toilet kitchenette. They rented extra for the crowds loads of staff keeping everything clean and thats so not a pleasant job but was greatly appreciated. And 5 min from the castle and 15 from the vintage walking. They even laid on a bus service at a charge but really took longer on the bus with the crowd but brilliant idea!!! Stellar experience thanks so much forhosting us
Camp sight during the Slane festival was well serviced. Decent loos and shower facilities.
Stayed here for Metallica was very busy but really well ran and managed! Well done to all involved.
Stayed here for Metallica concert. It was brilliant, could not fault the set up. More toilets would be the only thing but other than that it was really well organised.
The staff worked super hard all weekend for the concert, they had alot of people to deal with and I think they performed exceptionally well.
Was a brilliant place to stay can really recommend to stay here room was lovely and very comfortable and great staff great service
Charming location, wonderful hosts. Great amenities. Lovely little forest walk out the back up to the Hill of Slane, saw a pair of pheasants on the way. Kids loved it!
Owner seems nice and theres a camp kitchen with microwaves and a kettle which is useful. However the toilet and shower doors dont fit the openings properly leaving gaps around the edges and we had no hot water while we were there.Disappointing.
Did seem like the sheets were hardly washed. Friendly people! Great value!
Slane Farm is a very handy location for weddings in Tankardstown. Cheap and cheerful accommodation only minutes from the venue. The owners kindly gave us a lift to collect our car the next day. The only thing I felt could be improved was that the bathroom could be cleaner
One of the best places what I visit in Ireland. Very kind staff nd owner. Very clean place. Quiet place for visit nd rest from noise big city. Defo I come bk there again.
This is my 2nd time to the farm..Both experiences were great...Perfect place for my family to camp. Kids cant wait to go back
Great time here, very well set-up,. Plenty of toilets, showers well maintained. kitchen has a microwave, hob cooker with sink free to use.
If you want a warm welcome and extremely helpful owners this is the place to stay. Gemma & Gordon couldnt have been more helpful. Camping facilities are basic and in April a bit chilly, but that was a small price to pay for the overall quality of service. Charges were really good value for money. Its only a few miles from Newgrange & Knowth. Has some great friendly pubs in the village centre which is only a 20 minutes walk away. Loved it and would happily go again.
We stayed at slane farm on St Patrick weekend 2018. We were attending a wedding very close bye. The accommodation was perfect. We booked a one bed cottage and a room in the hostel for our son. The people who run slane farm were really friendly and there accommodated a extra single bed in the cottage for the second night of our stay with no problem at all. We would highly recommend slane farm and would stay again. Walker family.
It was cold when we got there.. left my top on the radiator to dry overnight however the heating is automatically cut off beyond the visitors control and eclectic seems to get cut off also.. headboard broken in the bed too, good shower cheap and cheerful I guess
Great lodging overall, great staff and also really fun to explore the woods beside the hostel
I stayed here for my party at the campsite there are lovely woods right beside and I got a bunch of cute pics worthy of Instagram I highly recommend this place.
Really lovely set of self catering cottages. Good kitchen/living room in each. On farm with donkey/goat/hens. A field for camping also. Very friendly and nice service.
Nice hostel, clean rooms. We stayed in cottage so was nice and detached from the rest. Everything worked properly but there some obvious wear & tear.
The hostel is great, as they described it is not luxurious. Its really functional, the kitchen and the rooms are well equipped. The less comfortable part are the showers because it takes them a long time to get warm
Slane farm was the Ideal location for this fairy themed hen of 30 women of all ages. I searched all over Ireland to find this gem. When I visited the site I knew it was the most perfect location! The staff were lovely and incredably helpful from start to finish and answered every request with enthusiasm. We were left to our own devises. Taking over the farm. Decorating the hostel and cottages and dressing up as fairies. We stayed in two cottages and the hostel. These were all spotlessly clean and well maintained, had good facilities and thier own homey country cottage feel.We cooked for ourselves using the ovens at our disposal and all fit in for a sit down meal in the hotel dining room and kitchen.Cottages and hostel were very resonably priced which ment that our hen didnt cost the earth for people coming to us. We ran our own activities and cooked our own meals every one pitched in and it felt more like a themed girly family gathering that almost everyone could make.It was ideally located just off of the M3 motorway not far from Dublin and very accesible from everywhere in Ireland.A shuttlebus was arrainged to the local pub Ryans and Gormloughs for the nights activities. This was a 5 min drive away and had a seperate room with a stage, sound system bar and stove (which was on full blastwhen we got there. Fab time there. then back by bus to the hostel again where we stayed up till dawn eating left over cake and chatting. It was great that there wasnt anyone to disturb getting back in.two thumbs up for this venue. Brilliant for groups, families and couples.
