It was like a maze,all kinds of passage ways and the tour guide made it fun.

Such a great experience! Our tour was small - just 10 people. Our guide was so knowledgeable and kind answering questions. He was engaged and interested and patient with our busy younger kids. The cave was SO beautiful!!

The cavern is fascinating and our family learned a ton about the Skyline Cavern from our tour guide, Courtney.. we enjoyed a lot of laughs from her jokes as well! It was an excellent tour and and a highly recommended stop!

Beautiful caverns. Spaces are not as grand as Luray Caverns, but everything is beautiful and a guided tour will help you feel more welcomed and warm. Caverns are in much better condition, no damage as in Luray Caverns.

We brought two 11 year old grandsons here and we absolutely loved it! The tour was small, the tour guide Donnie was willing to answer questions and engaged the kids. These are boys that love nature, along with their grandpa, so they appreciated that it didnt feel like a tourist trap. Interesting, beautiful place

I love that these caverns have colored lights. Luray is the go to and it is beautiful but Skyline though smaller is super fun with the colored lights.

We really enjoyed this tour. William had a great sense of humour and relayed lots of information to the group. Our group was a little on the large size , roughly 20, so im not sure people at the back had the same experience. The footing can be a little rough in spots and there are 60 stairs to contend with so it might not be for everyone. It is very different from the caves in Luray but we definitely recommend a visit.

This is a 1hr guided tour. We arrived without a reservation, and were on a tour in 30mins or less. There are several options to see caverns in the area. This is a smaller cavern (compared to others locallyand is most noted for its anthodites and colorful light show in the cavern. Our tour guide was very pleasant, a tad quirky, and informative. There are some tighter spots, up and downs, so be prepared for a little physical activity. The parking lot was large enough to accommodate larger vehicles, and there was plenty of parking.

Our tour guide Devin did an awesome job! The caves are really cool. It’s quite chilly, so bring a light jacket/sweater.

Ive been here several times. Always enjoyable. And 54 degrees underground vs. 100 outside is very enjoyable.

The tour takes about an hour and the guide was very knowledgeable. The artificial colored lights take away from some of the natural beauty but they are not found on every feature, thankfully. I walk with a cane and although the ground can be slippery at spots I didnt have much trouble. The worst part for me were the stairs at the very end of the tour.

Tony and I visited Skyline Cavern in Front Royal, VA. The cavern opens at 9am and first tour is at 930am. We had a private tour because no one else was there. It cost us $48 for both of us. The tour lasts about an hour. Our tour guy Samantha "SAM" was very young but very informative. She did a wonderful job.It was so sad seeing something from my youth which used to be packed so empty. It is very sad. The souvenir shop is full of lovely items. The parking lot is large. We enjoyed ourselves so much. Highly recommend to everyone.

Took my kids here on a Monday afternoon. It wasnt crowded and there were only 3 families in our group. Our guide was wonderful and so knowledgeable about the cave. Even my 13 year old had a good time!

Our guide, William, was very knowledgeable! The second half of the tour is better than the first (which was not very exciting or beautiful). The train was also super fun! The gift shop was kinda meh

Caverns were great! The tour guide (male - cannot remember his name with long brown hair and glassesdid an amazing job. He was very very informative and explained the caverns history and geological formations very thoroughly. I would definitely recommend going to these cavern before Luray as Luray Caverns are more self guided versus this, as a guided tour. They had some great colored lights and it made everything so pretty. Go early in the morning (9AMand you will get a smaller tour group!

Worth the visit. We’ve have visited different caverns that are bigger , but this one is definitely worth it. Small groups with a guide that was very informative. Loved it

A Groupon coupon put this on our radar and we are so glad it did! The caverns were great. Our guide was informative and lots of fun stories to share. We enjoyed seeing the signature wall from the Civil War soldiers and hearing about the dance parties down in the large cavern. The guide was especially good with the little fella nervous about the lights being turned off. Bring a picnic and make a day of it. A great way to reinforce geology school lessons or simply enjoy a unique date:

These are fairly "young" caverns geologically speaking, so the formations are not as extensive as some of the older caverns in the area. Our tour guide was very well informed and provided a great narrative during the tour. We enjoyed our tour as there were only 4 others with us some we could take our time and examine the caverns in some detail. The guide answered all our questions without hesitation. A very enjoyable and informative experience.

We came here at the end of October 2021. This cavern is smaller than Luray cavern but it is still worth a visit. The ticket includes a guided tour which was very informative but our guide talked so fast it was hard to catch some of the things she said. The price is cheaper than Luray caverns. Overall it was a great rainy day activity and recommended to visit this place if you’re in the area.

The caverns were cool if youre into that kind of thing. Got some pretty cool pics. The tour guide sounded very scripted, however, I feel like her performance will improve with experience.We also went through the mirror maze after the cavern tour. To say it was less than impressive is giving it too much credit.The souvenir shop is drab, not a whole lot of stuff to say "I was here". It almost seemed like one of those places you see in movies in a small like ghost town with nothing to offer, right before a dust storm comes through and buries the place; or the ground opens up and swallows it.All in all, a cool place to stop if your in the area, not really worth a really long drive.

A unique cave experience. Theres plenty of time to look, and walk as the story about the cave is told. Americana at its vintage best.

The cave here is a perfect companion cave for some other caves in the area. This is a wash out cave, which means it is completely different in formations. It also has those special crystalline formations that are extremely rare. Our tour guide was so-so. He had memorized his lines to the point that the delivery was stilted. Even so, the cave was interesting.

My 2nd visit and I loved it. It was a bit challenging but nothing too hard. It was actually pretty cool down there but not unbearable. I took many photos.

Beautiful caverns. The guide Virginia did a very good job. Would recommend wearing tennis shoes cause some spots were very steep.

This place was great. It is a guided tour. Our guide, Aidan a great. He was informative and did not hurry you through the cavern. The caverns are beautiful. Seeing the anthodites were amazing.

We had a blast. We got there early (about 9:30our guide was energetic, just spoke too fast to catch everything. Our group was small so social distancing wasn’t an issue. The formations were cool. Great photo ops!

I loved visiting this location on the rainy day that I was in Front Royal. It was about an hour tour but the group can linger if you need more time. A great summer activity as it is much colder underground. Home to some incredibly rare sea urchin-like formations only going found in a few locations in the world. The tour guide was funny, informative, helpful, and kind. The gift shop has really cute dishes and rocks and really nice items that were reasonably priced. I’d come again just to see the colored lights in the caves again.

Was pretty skeptical about how impressive this cave would actually be after wed just been to Luray caverns earlier today, but its an extremely unique cave. Turns out some of the crystal formations are so unique that theyve only been found 4 places in the world! For that alone, I dont regret the money. Very informational tour, beautiful formations, and not too strenuous. It is a tighter cave, so if youre not comfortable ducking or winding your way through tunnels, this night not be for you.

Absolutely loved it. My girlfriend surprised me by taking us here on the way to our vacation spot - incredibly fun and absolutely beautiful caverns. Aiden was an awesome tour guide, informative and fun - would love to see this place get more attention. Puppy friendly (must be carried, I believeand they have even held weddings in the "chapel" chamber. Definitely give this place a look.

Loved everything about this place fun information our tour guide was amazing and funny the caves are well maintained and safe it is cool in there bring a jacket 89 degree out side 51 inside.

Beautiful cavern/cave. the tour guide was very informative and took time to answer all our questions. it was a very nice way to finish off the Skyline Drive. Gift shop was well stocked and prices were very reasonable.

Skyline Caverns is a great place to learn about the caverns in Virginia and how they formed. Smaller than Luray Caverns, but they still understand the importance of human tour guides! Apparently Luray caverns have switched to only self guided tours with only a brochure as reference.

Worth the stop and visit! Great gift shop! Audrey our tour guide was delightful! Very nice and informative. I loved her jokes throughout the tour! People working in the gift shop are friendly as well! I will come back!

Me and my family loved this place. Just make sure you dress comfortably and bring a sweater even if its hot outside because it gets chilly in the cave. And its also not stroller friendly, just keep that in mind if you have small kids.

It is an amazing place to visit. The price is a little steep. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The formations were stunning. We absolutely loved it. The gift shop has something for everyone.

We went on a Sunday morning tour, overall group was about 12, including our family of 3. We took our 2 year old and she did fairly well during the tour although she got antsy towards the end and was impatient with the talking and waiting on the tour. Tour guides were good and patient, it was difficult to understand some info only due to the masks. The staff at the gift shop and ticketing were polite and casually visited with us. The cavern was beautiful and floors were mostly smooth, 61 stairs on the back end of the tour when youre coming up at the end. FYI. Wear shoes that have GOOD TRACTION! and it wasnt too chilly in the cavern, maybe a light sweater or long sleeve shirt. Restrooms are clean and I recommend using before tour. 8/10.

While traveling down south the kids wanted to stop in. They have a really nice and large gift shop. The caverns themselves were really cool and I mean cool too at about 54 degrees. Its was really interesting seeing how large some of the caverns were and how old it was. The tour guide we had was wonderful in showing all the different type of rocks and formations.

It is one of the three caverns in the world where a large amount of Anthodites were discovered.The tour guide was very nice and gave us sufficient time to look around even we were the only two guests she had. She is knowledgeable about the cavern and its history. Great tour.Safety precautions were followed including wearing masks and proper distancing during the tour.This is not a cavern with grand scenes.
