Skull Island: Reign of Kong in Buenaventura Lakes

One of my favorites rides! Graphics and attention to detail is AMAZING

Id like to like this ride given the impressive exterior, but apart from a very impressive animatronic at the end, its just screens and thats a huge disappointment. My suggestion is that you dont bother unless the queue is under 20m.

Much better than I expected, for starters I didn’t know what to expect, there’s no preview of it, I thought I’m here I might as well, even though I am trying to be choosy as wait times are long, even though it’s a Monday in October.When I saw that you had to wear 3d glasses I was a little put out, having done stuff like this before and not been massively impressed.However, it was pretty cool, it was fun exhilarating and the 3d-ness of it all was actually pretty impressive. Really felt like a 4D movie experience. The ride jolts, the screen gives you the real feeling of rushing and falling and having Kong come right up and breath in your face, I’d pick a side seat if you can.***The videos I’ve posted are just in the queue***

Not worth any long wait times. Id say skip it if the wait time is over 30min. Nostalgic in its nature but generally speaking a pretty lame ride. Theming is awesome and you can see that at the entrance. No need to get in line.

I love this ride a lot, but I cant give it a high rating. For being a stationary ride, the visual effects are very convincing, unlike the fast and furious supercharged ride.The only drawback with this ride is the maintenance issues. Every time Ive tried to ride, theres been a problem with it. The most Ive waited with an additional wait is 80 minutes, while the least was 5 minutes. And unfortunately, during the last ride, there was a glitch where all of videos froze and there was gapping static line going through it. Resumed after about 20 seconds, but doesnt seem like the ride is very stable.

The set pieces since you walk in are incredible. The que area is very impressive, including the animatronic lady. But, it is just a 3D ride. Definitely better that Fast and The Furious. That last moment is a great nod to the original ride over at USF. Will I ride it again, of course, specially since I rode the abridged version due to bad weather.

Fun ride and family friendly unless you have little ones scared by dinosaurs. You do have to turn hard to look at scenes as you ride as nothing in the visuals is in front of you. Sometimes the show is only on one side of the attraction vehicle.

I thought it was very scary, I didnt even want to try, but Im very glad I did, because it was really Cool!!! I enjoyed the ride and the story. Dont miss this ride. Dont be afraid, King Kong will save you!

This is such a cool concept. It did freeze up for a split second near the end but it was running well for the most part. I love the feel of actually being in the middle of the action. It does need a good cleaning or possible a better cooling system because when I is very busy, it really freezes up and sometimes shuts right down and then you dont even have sound.

I remember the original Kong ride from years ago, and this feels like the equivalent of CGI vs practical effects. Its simultaneously more realistic but also completely unrealistic, if that makes sense. The screens are a little monotonous at this point. The action is fun but the ride is underwhelming. The queue is themed perfectly however and we still had fun.

Expected something way better. Youre packed into a safari like vehicle with little viability. Im sad to say Id skip this one unless the wait is less than 30 minutes.

The 3D effects were really great. It was also cool because things would be happening on one side of the vehicle and just jump across the vehicle and start happening on the other side without any Interruption it was like you really were in the middle of something.

Very fun and well paced dark ride. It was my first 4D experience and the start spooked me with a 3D bat that came into the car! The inside line was equally immersive and helped prepare for the experience

One of the best 3D rides on adventure island park.higly recomend it.

Great ride it is 3-d Wich I usually don’t like but this one is good. You can take your glasses off at the very end to see the totally animatronic Kong it’s really good .

As hot as it was that day I loved that they put fans around to keep everybody cool in line, it did take a little second to actually get on the ride but they had a lot of stuff that you could see and view around you while you were waiting that made it fun,

If youre a Kong fan youre going to love this little 3D interactive ride! Lots of action and Kong fury! Entertaining while waiting in line, definitely dont miss it.

Truck ride like Fast and Furious, with some amazing screen effects as you move through the ride.Great resolution large scale surround screens show synchronized action combined with simulation movement.Some nice (scaryanimatronics too!Line felt kinda long (50 mins?and the "entertainment" while in line was repetitive (some wizened bloke gibbering in a foreign language).At least it was air-conditioned :-)

This was our first ride of the day and it didnt disappoint. The queue line looks like your walking into the movie set. Very impressive job. The ride itself is fun, can be a bit scary for smaller children. Line moved pretty quick so the wait wasnt that bad.

Great ride, uses 3D glasses during the ride to give more thrill. More so an adventure with a theme but fit is not a roller coaster. Just like riding through the jungle looking for Kong. You will find him and he will be up close and personal even with some special effects you can actually feel.

The last ride I was on when I was on Islands of Adventure which it was pretty outdated but still pretty good to be on! It’s one of those classic rides where you can ride and still enjoy it no matter how many times you ride it!

I love this ride but its short... and it broke down twice when we were on it. Seems to break down everytime were there. On a brighter note it is a fun ride. The Kong animatronic is so cool and real life like. Hes my favorite.

I usually wait until my fast pass kicks in to ride this one. Definitely not worth it if you have to wait a long time for this one. I do enjoy it, just not as much as Spider-Man or Transformers.

The kids love this ride, even though the skulls scare them. Its a must do ride for us every time. This is not a fast ride, but it does have a lot of movement. We love it.

One of the best rides in the park! Made me feel like I was in the movie.

Interactive 3-D ride with a lot of action going on everywhere, nice effects and fun.

Loved this ride. Great special effects. Family friendly, except may be scary to some young kids.

This was a super boring ride and definitely NOT worth the wait. My 3D glasses kept falling off my face and make sure you sit on the right side of the bus because on the left side I saw nothing exciting.

Good ride. Even our 2 year old liked it. A little scary for him but he toughed it out.

I suggest if you visit the island this is the 1st or at least, the last ride, you will be visit give this ride the honor of that because this ride is epically amazing, Theres a lot of 5D interaction types of rides, such as, what comes to mind is the Harry Potters ride, but this ride has to be the most thrilling, if not scary.

Really great ride what an amazing experience. We wont talk about who didnt come back from that Journey

Was a long wait because they closed other outdoor rides were closed due to weather for a little while. But the waiting area is very intertaining.

**NON RIDER REVIEW**Standing in line with your riders isnt bad, theres a lot to look at. Of course the lines always suck. Theres a nice family room for the non-riders like myself, with bench seats, a TV playing the movie Kong and a baby changing station.

One of the best rides in my opinion. The entire set up makes you feel like you truly in the middle of the actions. The visual effects are top notch. Family friendly ride.

This is such a fun ride! Great with the kids or with your friends. Itll move from room to room and end up in a room with a 360 degree screen thatll bring you into the world of KONG!! Such a fun experience!

I really enjoyed this attraction despite it breaking down at the end of my experience just before the unload zone and us be stuck on it for about 10mins before it began running again.

Youll have to wear 3D glasses... but it is fun , great ride for kids and adults.

After a long day , I kind of dragged my feet for this ride ,I am glad I did !!! One of the best ride in Island Of Adventure.

This 3D ride in a bus with animation and automatic decorations was really cool.(best place at the back and either left or rigth =different movie sequence)The journey to the ride was very entertaining. You will enter underground caves with skull head walls, a dark priest hall with ligth and sound effects. A real good atmosphere builder for the up coming ride. The animation is very cool.Definitely worth 40-60min to wait for it.

Absolutely a must ride at Universal. The walk in is as entertaining as the ride. Absolutely does not disappoint! You will meet Kong himself face up close and personal! Watch him battle dinosaurs and of course break things. I loved loved loved this ride.

Great and fun experience, but the quality might need improve, the same day we visit we met the disfunction car for Kong, heard that the Hagrid and another attraction got delay or closed. There are firework, buts its very short, probably only 5 min, and there is no notice that the light when would be the night show start.

My fave Islands of Adventure Ride, only because I am not that into roller coasters anymore.... this ride is just fun and seems real. 3D glasses make sure of that. The line queue is def part of the fun. Its dark and maybe a little scary, but my 2.5 year-old grandson LOVES it. Its a trackless ride on a super cool bus-like, sits like 6-7 people per row, so wear your mask!!!!! We are annual pass holders and def ride this EACH time we go, which is about monthly. This is a really fun ride, with a mix if real animatronics and video. It is very short and only seems to last for a few minutes. The video experience is much better in the Hollywood Studio tour but this is a good sample of it! I would not wait for more than 30 minutes for this ride.

For a simulation ride I truly loved this ride. From the moment that you enter the entranceway til the moment you finish the ride is very exciting. There is a character from the movie that warns you to turn back until the moment you enter the ride. Then you get into the ride whish is a tram based ride with Huge 3d video screens you watch with Goggles provided at the entrance to the ride. The action scenes with Kong and the dinosaurs are very exciting.

Kong is a really great experience for what it is. Yes, there are screens for the majority of the ride but the experience from the load area to the first screen is really cool. The level of detail on the outside bus ride area going into the show building is astonishing! The story line really keeps your attention and the 3D aspect really takes it to the next level. The Kong animatronic at the end is amazing!!

The queue is great when it comes to atmosphere and buildup. Its dark and scenic. The build up is great but the ride is a let down. The quoted time was 80 minutes and we were in line for almost two hours. You think you are towards the end but its just room after room of more lines.
