Been eating at skins for a long time. Never had a bad hotdog. Service is great and someone will come out and ask if everything is ok. My wife and i love skins.

Loved it! The Chilli dogs and cold pickle spears very good. Great service, too! You wont go wrong if you want a good hot dog. Try the chocolate pound cake, to die for!

The entire staff here are very pleasant and always greet you with a smile. The service is quick and efficient, and the hot dogs are the best in town!

Skin Thrashers is one of my favorite places to eat. When Im in Anderson, I always try to get hot dogs to go, always chili with them. So awesome. Wish there was one in Georgia in Hartwell area.

I want to preface this by saying that i eat hot dogs almost every day.I stopped in this place on my way back to Charlotte. The name appears to now be skins. This was one of the worst hot dog places Ive ever been to. I informed the cashier I had never been there before hoping to get a suggestion, but all I got was and air of hurry up and get out. I ordered a hotdog with chili. The bun was soft, and the dog was okay. I like boiled dogs. But the chili tasted like reheated potted meat. Ive had better chili at the gas station. She didnt even ask if I wanted any fries, which I didnt even see on the menu anyway. Dining in didnt seem to be an option because she rang it up to go without asking. I definitely wont be back, and I dont recommend it to anyone else.

I live about 40 minutes away. I went 3/12/22 (placed my order online…so convenient!and enjoyed my 2 chili dogs, chocolate chip cookie sandwich, and piece of chocolate pound cake. I plan to get my sister to stop by and get me chili dogs as often as she will since she works in Anderson. LOL

Poor quality food like many poor southern restraunts oh well

Ive never ate at skins so I thought I will go today and get two hot dogs with chili and slaw and I had to pay $6 and something got home had no slaw and the hot dog buns was really soggy I would never eat it that one again. I dont eat at so I thought I would today but it was sorry.

This place just renovated and opened not too long ago. You used to be able to go sit down and have a hotdog either at a table or at the bar. I walked in today to find out it is take-out only. I asked, "Can you not eat in here?" The lady said, "We dont do that anymore." But yet they have tables and chairs in the corner.I left.

The name use to be golden. The corner store sells better hotdogs plus the way cheaper

All locally owned— still no franchisees — meaning better quality control and a more consistent experience from one location to another.Other than being among the last and best hotdog stands, what makes Skins special is their unique hot dogs. Their frankfurters are high quality and less salty or spicy than some.Their chilli is especially unique. It stands in harmony with the flavour of the wiener itself, not overwhelming it. Many hotdog chillis are of poor quality beef, not minced finely enough or overwhelmingly spicy, sweet or both. Skins? Quality, finely minced, not bland but not overwhelming flavoured. (I suspect some other places use intense chilli flavour to mask the lesser quality of other ingredients.The buns seem to be steamed, but never soggy.These are hotdogs prepared the Carolina way. If youre looking for consistent quality go to Skins, if you are looking to indulge your nostalgia for New York, Philadelphia or Chicago, go elsewhere; but be warned, by doing so, you may find different but you wont find better.Unlike any other fast food restaurants Skins offers table service. And its fast and courteous!

As long as you know what you are going for you will give it 5 stars. No frills just a great hotdog at a fair price. Ive been eating Skins for over 40 years, so that should tell you something. Enjoy

Place has gotten worse over the years since Mr Thrasher past. Overly priced, bland taste, Coca Cola made them taste better

Skins is a southern thing. Some people, we call them nonsoutherners, think the hot dogs are too bland. Not true, the flavors are subtle and you can taste every ingredient in every bite. This is not a place to get crazy with the toppings, besides you are eating a traditional southern, dinner on the ground, family reunion, perfection of a hotdog. It is not about the fries, there arent any, grab a bag of chips. It is not about some fancy soda dispenser, not one of those either, grab a bottle or can of soda or tea out of the cooler. This is about the hotdog. A subtle flavored meat that shines in its deliciousness topped with a mild chili and any combination of mustard, ketchup (packets onlyand onions. Truthfully the ketchup slips in there for the kiddos. To eat it right order it all the way and it is served with chili, onions and mustard - thats it and thats all it needs.

Just left with 2 hotdogs and only one was fixed the way I ordered it. The hotdogs are not the same anymore. It was a waste of money for me.

Hot dogs are decent, the chocolate cake is definitely delicious. Service is usually fast when I go to get my food.

Well I just got told if you want a cup of ice or ice you better bring it in because all they sell is hotdogs I thought that maybe they might sell ice and tea in a cup but so I wont be going there

Only giving one star because I have to, rather do negative stars. Worst hotdogs on the planet. Chili was a joke. Way overpriced for the disturbing food and atmosphere. Stay home and microwave your hotdog...youd be better off!

Cheap eats, ok if thats what you grew up with.I grew up with natual casing hot dogs on charcoal grill and greek texas hots was disappointed chilli meat didnt taste like beef.

After all these years of watching the Hot Dog show we stopped. What a great "weenie and bun". Will be back on our next trip from DC!
