Wife and I are total novices who have never been on the slopes. The staff were more than helpful spending almost 2 hours with us helping with equipment selection, boot fitting, setting everything up for us and getting the right outfits. Great service. Would definitely recommend.

Went to a craft beef festival there and it was 90 out and no shade at all! My 80 year old mom was having a hard time with her walker going thru the gravel and grass...disappointed with the lack of choices for the beer trucks and food trucks and they didnt show up after saying they would be there! You cant do that to ppl that depend on you!

Windham raised senior lift tickets 83% for the 22-23 season. Guess windham doesnt like the people who have been supporting them for 40 years. Get your butternut pass as soon as you can I feel windhams boot on my as*Thanks windham

The ski school is amazing. My kids were reluctant learners and the instructors were so patient and warm with them- they made them feel safe. By the end of the day, the kids didnt want to leave the mountain!

We had a great time bringing our Florida babies (aged 5 and 6snow tubing for the first time. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the last lane should have been blocked off for safety reasons, and it wasnt. Sure enough, someone got hurt flying off the lane into the wooded area. This could have been prevented. Overall, VERY FUN experience and our little kids loved the magic carpet!

The instructors at Ski School were very helpful and patient. They made it a point to learn and call my girls by their first name. Highly recommended for young learners.

This place was really fun for tubing. But they need to have a better system to have everyone go down at the same time after people at the bottom move out of the way. it was very dangerous and I and a number of others were knocked off their feet when another tube came barreling down before we could get out of the way.

Great place for everyone, from beginners to pros. Ive skied at Butternut since Mt. Tom closed in 1998.Great snow, 2 lodges so you never feel like its too crowded to get a snack, tons of parking, tubing on a separate section, terrain park, magic carpets on the beginners slopes (no more J bars!!!And awesome staff from lift operations, to ski patrol, everyone youre going to meet is going to be great! This is a great place to ski, snow board and have a great winter day. They have snow making capabilities and do an excellent job grooming their trails.

Wow what an amazing day we had! we are first timers learning how to ski. Adam and Mary were awesome. They are very friendly, helpful, caring, patient and gave us all their attention. It was 4 of us. myself, my wife and our girls took the lessons. We had great weather. I highly recommend coming here for ski lessons. Again I want to thank Mary and Adam very very much you made our day! We will be back for more lessons! Eddy

First time tubing here at night. It was way better than going during the day. The staff was helpful, talkative and the music was perfect (mix between 80s and 90s). My teens and husband had a blast. 4 stars because the bathrooms were gross, really gross. Floors were wet with God only knows and as a woman when you have to take down all your gear, it was impossible to not have it rest on the floor. Rubber mats with holes would help.

Is this a mountain the size of Vermont? No...but its as good as it gets for the area! We are a little over an hour away and the midweek rate for this is the best-price-to-ski ratio youll find anywhere in the northeast. There are some great trails here that will fill your day.

I cannot say enough great things about Butternut. We invested pretty hard into snowboarding this year for our family. While my husband and I were getting back into it, our 8 year old daughter Rowan was going to be getting out there for the first time. We knew that she’d do best with lessons (8 going on 18and I booked one via the online platform. In the parking lot she cried and tried to back out. We reasoned that she needed to at least try. Her instructor was going to make or break the experience and I was walking on eggshells until we headed to the meeting point and met Kat (Katinka).Kat has the sort of energy that I would like to bottle and sell. Absolutely genuine, kind and engaging-she was high-fiving my kid and quickly getting her over the intimidation of trying something new and just truly excited about how COOL snowboarding is. Rowan left her lesson feeling like she had an awesome new friend and super proud of herself for learning something new.Since that first lesson, she’s been back several times to take lessons with Kat. Rowan is progressing as a rider thanks to her encouragement and enthusiasm. We will continue to work with Kat until Rowan is confident on her own on all trails. SHE IS THE BEST.The Mountain itself is a gem. My husband and I have had the privilege of riding some great terrain across the country and Butternut has been a welcome surprise. We also like that we’re supporting a small mountain run by a truly great team. Everyone we’ve met is passionate about the place and you can tell they take pride in everything. Lift lines move pretty fast and there’s an impressive amount of groomed trails open considering the winter we’ve had.

A solid ski-resort for sure. There are enough trails where you wont get bored, and where a wide array of ability levels can enjoy themselves. The automatic ticketing system is convenient, and the lodge and amenities are adequate. A great mountain for skiing with family or friends. The weekday prices are good, although the weekend is a little pricy.

Great as a family resort. Nicely sized; small so that distances are manageable but large enough to have a solid beginners area and some lovely intermediate (blueruns that are long and wide.Food in the cafeteria we went to could have been better, it was the usual run of the mill burgers and fries, but there was a nice trailer with better quality items as a snack in the sun.

Very good for ages 8+, tubing is good, suggestion do not sit inside the tube or you can hurt your back with the slide bumps, sit on top allowing some space on the inside for the tube to bounce. There are some quick food on the place (fries, chicken, hot dog, sodas to eat outside, probably get cold before you finish eating. But overall is good activity for the family.

I’ve been going here for years. Always plenty of fun. Obviously it can’t compare to places out west but for the area it’s great. For the beginner mountains like this one it’s great that they have such a good terrain park. Super helpful for practicing more complex things once you get the hang of it.

A great mountain to start learning and a fun mountain for those with experience. They did very well to ensure social distancing and everyone was wearing their masks. And although Im used to the larger mountains of VT this hill was still a fun day out. Trails were as well groomed as they could be for the weather and I was decently surprised for it being a smaller mountain from what Im used to. I will definately be going back... And it doesnt hurt that they are the best bang for your buck in the northeast.

This is a review for the upper lodge. Filthy tables and floors. No one is cleaning and wiping down the tables resulting in unsanitary conditions. The prices are also inflated. $16.31 for a generic cheeseburger, fries and water. They charge $3.00 for a bottle of water! After getting ripped off, I got to eat my meal at a table that I had to clean myself. Disgraceful. My advise is to bring your own lunch and Lysol wipes.

One of the best ski places. It has several lifts to take you up, three different tracks to take you down and several places to relax and enjoy your time with your family. They also offer group and private classes which were great. Highly recommended!

I went snow tubing last Saturday and had a great time. The snow is deep and the weather was great. The staff is super cool and music was playing and they were pushing us down the hill. The kids had a fantastic time and I would recommend this to all ages. The price point is really low and safety was on the top of the staff list. Great time cant wait to come back to ski!!!

Butternut was good. If you cant tell by its name, its more of a skier destination but I snowboarded no problem. Trails are nicely groomed, though I went on the 2nd day it was open for the season, so it was very icy in spots. Would go back to check it out again when more trails are open.

This is a perfect mountain for beginners and young skiers. The slopes are generally quite short meaning even the most severe slopes are skiable by even novice skiers. Our kids, 9 & 11 were able to confidently ski every slope after 2 days and they loved this ski area. The rentals are very good quality with knowledgeable staff, great place to ski and we will return.

Honestly for the price during the week $25, you are not going to find a better deal for what you get anywhere besides here! The mountain is not huge, but there are some trails that will give you a good ride. In comparison its a tad bit smaller than Hunter Mountain, but much closer and way cheaper! I love this, im so happy I found this place!!!
