Skanderbeg Square - Tourist attraction in Bajram Curri, Albania
The main place in the city, where you see life and lots of people of course, have a good one
Totally free attraction, very pretty to look at. Just stumbled on this when out walking. Only spent about 5 minutes here but there is a nice seating area if you wanted to stay longer x
Nice big open square to meet people and see local architecture as its being built around. Also the start of the local free walking tour which I have just gone on and would recommend.
I can recommend to visit square. It’s modern and can give you lovely evening sun show like on the attached photos. Close to the swuare you can find small mosque, shops, cafes. That’s very nice place to visit during few days trip in Tirana :)
Large space in the square and green place behind. Must spend some time, have a beer or two and watch the passers-by.
One of the busy streets in the city. Surrounded by other landmarks and statues. Very good for an evening walk. Lots of restaurants and small street vendors.
I love all of the free music events that happen in the square! 👏🏼♥️🤗♥️👏🏼
Really big square in the heart of Tirana, there is also option to ay for a parking space underground and the price was really cheap and there was a lot of space.Lot of shops near the center and beautiful sights.
The best place to walk in Tirana. All the greatest buildings, cafes, shops and parks are near there. Good atmosphere in the evening.
It is very good large space in the morning but needs some enhancements (like some lights especially at nightwill be very good spot for outings, pictures. Maybe some small activity places ( will add great value). There is night life bars that are open there till late hours and of course the trademark of the Skabderbeg Statue, that Albanian Solider that has great value for the people there.
An impressive square. I did not expect what I saw. Really nice.
Not impressedIt was clean but you didn’t have much to see.On the statue it wasn’t even an explanation of what you are looking atThe opera house was pretty but was running some silly commercials on the big screen on front
Nice easy 👌 square with some good 👍 places
It has changed a lot from what I remember. Its a beautiful place to visit.
The main square of Tirana, shaped from the time of Italy presence in Albania, around 90 years ago.Often reconstructed and changed the forms. Wide square, with the statue of the Albanian hero Scanderbeg in the center.
Great historical hill squart of the city. The collor of the floor are beautiful, and the tree pitts are amazing.
Nice place, clean. Water running down the ground allows people to cool off
This is the main square of Tirana, sorrounded by goverment buildings, hotels, a mosque, and the Opera of Tirana. The square is 40000 square meters, making it on of the largest in the world. The square features a tile floor slightly sloped from the center to the edges; this is because the square include a system of ground fountains that spill water on different areas to then collect it again on the edges of the plaza with the purpose of cooling down the temperature of the plaza, but be careful, these wet tiles can become slippery. The Opera side of the square features several cafes and restaurants and the Skanderbeg statue is the main monument and a great meeting point. Many Free Walking Tours departure from this plaza.
I had high expectations after 8 years! I think the square needs more changes!
Very vital place with lots of streetlife, surrounded by historic buildings and inthe second row some high rise buildings still under Construction. The place with stone heats up in summer, plenty green around is relaxing. And the famous Skanderberg is watching from his horse.
Love the place. Statue looks nice. Bike riders everywhere. At night nice place to sit in and enjoy the fresh air.
Very overpowering square with a freshly renovated Ottomon Mosque among the modern buildings and museums and governmental offices.. The Skanderberg Statue and the floor comprising of many different shades of marble squares brought in from the various regions of the country are particularly noticeable.
City center of Tirana, a lot of activities to do, mostly crowded at 5PM.
Beautiful square, with undercover parking. Always full of people and such a lovely environment. Water fountains for children and plenty of seating for people in shaded and unshaded places. A must see in Tirana
Expansive square. Not flat but convex makes for an interesting feel.Limited shade so can be very hot. However you will find some shady characters around.....
Nice square with cool design plenty of bars and caffes nearby.
You can join a free tour at 6 pm, highly recommended. There you will find a beautiful mosque, status, opera, many coffee shops as well.
Very happy to see that theres no more cars in there. Very hot during the day and definitely the grass and bushes around it need work done. Other than that is great for the people to enjoy concerts and other activities.
Big square, works as a fountain on Hot days.
Nice square, spacious. Concerts over there but still respecting the night regime after midnight. I would just appreciate some greens/grass. In hot Tirana green places are missing.
First time in Albania if you traveler one day is very good in Tirana
Nice huge area, lots of coffee shop around, museum, library and many building are still under construction which looks good. Also Ethem Bey Mosque is situated here. And for those wanting to use public bus transport it is near the mosque.
This is a really fun and open space to walk, snap photos, and let your kids run around. It seems like theres something fun going on at this place all the time so its definitely worth visiting.
Great place - very big - got lucky with a festival been on as well
The main square in Tirana. Its where most major events take place. There are imposing buildings surrounding thr outside, including the national museum, opera and government buildings. Some cafes also along the outside. Definitely a cant miss when in the city.
Its a nice square where many events take place, spring festival and some concerts. Its nice that there are no cars there and you can set down and just enjoy
Huge square, nice flooring. Opera house and green areas around. Feels like a big city Square. Benches to relax. Underground parking. It will be even more attractive when the skyscrapers will be finished, one in every corner. Big mosque too there.
This plaza is the checkpoint for any direction in the city. Here you can enjoy the view of the opera and the statue of our National Hero Skanderbeg.A lot of coffee shops in the site.
Beautiful big square! Lovely!Clean, like everything else in Tirana!I wonder how this will look like during the summer with the heat and everything hot! Id like to see the fountains and have the opportunity to feel it again during another season!Cheers!
Super nice dry square during Christmas time. There is a lot of places to have a beer or a coffee in the middle of the square. Be aware of the smoke produced by the fire places the set during cold weather.
Loved the place! Late November and they were setting up stalls, decorations and all things festive December. Lots of interesting places on and immediately round the square. Round a square! History Museum, a gorgeous mosque, statues, the opera house and more. Im pretty sure you couldnt avoid the place if you tried. Airport shuttle goes from very nearby too.
Super cool place, of course is Tirana’s city center, surrounded by museums, shops, bars, mosque, library, bank etc. A most visit when in Tirana
Skanderbeg square acts like your compass..whenever youre lost just go back to it and it will guide you towards your destination ...i loved it by night when monuments are lit and the breeze is fine and you can sit and watch people dancing to the sound of music of a street band or you can hop on the carousell horse 😊
Nice big open square bounded by cool buildings, some trees and you can see the mountains. There is a museum and opera house and an old mosque. There is the Opera coffee shop that looks like a nice place. Its very pleasant walking through here.
Interesting place to walk. I guess must see in Tirana. Interesting combination of different architectural styles and periods.
There arent any trees. This is big square made of grey plate, if youre interested in post Soviet places it is for you. You have to like that kind of architecture. Also it is the center of Tirana, the best place to park your car on the parking place under the square.
It is the heart of the historic city centre. It is a beautiful plaza where you can find the great statue of Skanderbeg, the National Hero that led the rebellion against the Ottoman Empire. It is surrounded by several cultural and historical landmarks, such as the clock tower and the Ethem Bey Mosque, both of which survived decades, nay, centuries of a rich history. Also, you can find good coffee shops near by, especially under the National Opera. Many buses arrive/depart from this plaza, so it is a important commuter point as well.
This place really has a spécial Energy... Something so délicated that its not even possible to understand how Strong is the vibe of the ILLYRIAN symbole... Skander welcomes you from the ground to the Space in littérally less than 144meters. As the Stargate do not forget to visit the Muséum that will make you understand how Albania is the cross road of the Eurasia Humanity. Close to 2222 years of history this Land Seen the blood of every Society as the flag you can see sylbolized by the Brave Double Heads Eagle Owning Strenght and Bravor ! From the tribus to the largest Empires. This just ÂGE OF EMPIRES !So lets Land in Albania and lets play all together 🙏Hajde
Its nice stop you get to see all the important buildings not that busy, you can see all the mountains. very clean and new, it looks completely different to other Europe capitals and that is one of the reason I love it there so much. ( I hope you in joy if you visit.)
An amazing beautiful town square, especially after it’s been reconstructed from the original. It maintains its uniquely Albanian heritage while making you feel like your in the heart of Europe. Be sure to check out the museum for artifacts that are equal to almost anything else you’d find in southern Europe, other than the major ones of course!
