Serving hummus, shawarma & other classic Lebanese dishes in a simple corner storefront space.
I love this place! The food is great! Actually No, the food is amazing, phenomenal! It is some of the best food Ive ever had! My only issue is with the fried Keibbeh... I want it!! and a lot of it!! and when I order [to go] they only allow a certain number of pieces of kibbeh per to go order. So if I had to say anything, it would be to raise up the number of fried keibbeh that is allowed per order. The keibbeh is amazing! Its the best Ive had! Wouldnt change a thing! And the service and employees are the friendliest and most polite, best people Ive come across in a restaurant setting! Always accommodating and down to earth people! I highly recommend this restaurant for all things, for to go orders, for dining, and for catering!
Some of the best middle eastern food around. Theyre specials are just like homemade also.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! We love this place. Food is amazing and the family is so sweet.
Delicious shawarma and friendly owners!
the food was good, first time tying this cuisine
Delicious food rendered poisonous by the cheap canola oil used to dilute the olive oil in all their dishes.
I’ve tried so many Lebanese restaurants in the region. While many are good, none offer a perfect combination of authenticity, quality, service, and atmosphere.
Amazing Middle Eastern food delicious definitely recommend this spot..
Excellent food and amazing service. Went for my mother in laws 87th birthday and they were amazing.
Great food. Just like home. Great service and the owners work on site.
The best and delicious Lebanese food in heart of Glendale , Ca
The owner is so passionate about this restaurant, the atmosphere is beyond welcoming. The service is amazing. The food is phenomenal and will leave your taste buds dancing after a nice authentic Lebanese dish. I had the fried fish and it was absolutely amazing, I would definitely recommend it. Not to mention the hummus and the salads are to die for. I am so glad that my dad referred me to this restaurant. 100/10 would recommend and would come back to this place.
Friendly service with good food. Parking available in the back, though it is perpetually full.
Let me first tell you that the people that I interacted with were not only super freaking nice but so helpful with explaining what each of the dishes were that I was curious about. Their hummus is absolutely bangin, the breaded meatball thing was out of this freaking world and honestly I think I found my new spot in Glendale for delicious Lebanese food. Do yourself a favor and get some of this savory goodness. Support your local restaurants and keep this hidden gem polished and alive!
We came here because LA Times rated it as one of the 100 Best. It is difficult to rate a restaurant during covid fairly as most people experienced them as takeout. We think it is fine but for an area full of similar types of establishments, hard to see us go back again?
The falafel plate i got here was truly inspiring. I have had many falafel plates, And this one is yummy and different in a good way. I really liked my plate!
Second time here and I’m extremely happy with my meal and the quality of the meat! Beautiful family owned restaurant & they do an excellent job on the food. The 3 meats platter is my favorite! Juicy & cooked to perfection.
Food was great, that I forgot to snap a pic😅, place is busy but is worth the wait, Armenian coffee was great I invite every one who is a coffee lover to give it a try. The whole environment is neat, restrooms were clean, this is always a plus for me, it tells me that the place is on top of everything not just your meal. Once your order goes thru the waiting goes smooth, remember that many menu items are prepare at the moment you order it. Delicious 😋, the host was sensational....
The best Lebanese restaurant. Great service and fresh quality ingredients. Their hummus is the best Ive had anywhere. Its made fresh daily like everything else. Yum!!!
Great service and friendly staff. Personal favorites were the lamb, kofta and shrimp kebabs but the beef shawarma ain’t a slouch.Ample space for dine-in and covid friendly as it gets. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
This is legitimate Mediterranean food people. Fresh, made to order, and truly delicious. This was the best babbaganoush I’ve had. For something interesting, try the Kibeh (fried meatball basically).
great staff and good flavors and fairly priced, but overcooked kebab with no juice is a big no no for me...hopefully its just this one time and Id still love to try more stuff on their menu
Skafs is that kind of family owned restaurant " where everybody knows your name". As far as I know, they have the best Lamb Chops in the City. Dont leave without trying the babaganoush or Humus. They are like everything here, made from scratch with long time family recipes. Get yourself dinner here and support your local businesses
I stopped here after getting gas on a short trip to California, and I am SO glad I did. I haven’t had Lebanese this good since I lived in Michigan over a decade ago. I got the lamb kebab meal and it was cooked to perfection. MAKE SURE you ask for the garlic dip - you can’t find it everywhere, and theirs is homemade. It elevates any meal, took my already delicious lamb to another level. The people here are super friendly and they aim to give you a meal to remember. Any time I’m back in the area this will be a definite stop, even if it is out of the way.
Omg the beef and lamb kabobs here melt in your mouth 😋. The falafel and hamus are so authentic and have very generous portions. A true hidden gym in Glendale for those from out of town.
Garlic, citrus and olive oil... frog legs. Yummy stuff. Trying to go through the whole menu but it will take me awhile to do. The owners are great and the staff get you started on a wonderful salad and bread with hamus. That alone is a meal in my book. If you are into the 3 ingredients i just mentioned, ask for a bowl of "fool"... funny name but this vegetarian dish is a delight. Toss the parsley chopped onions and tomoatoes... ask if they can give you some pomegranate too... mixed with olive oil, garlic and the right amount of salt and lemon juice... your tummy will be wanting more. Meet me here for a meal... prior to covid I hung out at the table looking to see what the chef was doing ... that was entertaining too.
Pick up was super easy! Be aware of the tiny Parking lot. These are large sandwiches that drip all over but they are SO good! Fries are thick and amazing!
The shawrma sandwich is too small and has a few of chicken pieces and full of garlic sauce! The waitress was really rude! They also has weird rules! Every table with less than 6 people should pay 18% tips!
YUMMMM! Delicious food! Loved the staff as well, so nice and welcoming and really made sure I had everything I needed! The lam skewer was my favorite and the garlic sauce was amazing. Huge portions for hungry people
Almost everything we got was very good, and the service was excellent.I wasnt a fan of the spicy potatoes. They were mushy, and the garlic and spice were kind of burnt. But the kibbeh nayeh was very good, and the cabbage salad was great.
Absolutely delicious and 100% authentic Lebanese cuisine. Everything was freshly prepared. Kebab was exquisite. Sides/appetizers were fantastic. One of the best Lebanese restaurants Ive been to in all of the Los Angeles area.
The stuff collaborated in a lovely manner, the food was appetizing and my friends were very cheerful. We shall definitely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.Their Falafel is so moist their cabbage salad is the best! Service is always good. Only thing that sucks is parking,
Expensive. The fish was way too pricey and not much to it. We didnt like the soup and sent it back. Our server wasnt happy with us for doing that. She made someone else wait our table. Wont be back. Do not recommend, especially because of poor customer service.
We found Skafs Lebanese Cuisine, which is located in an unassuming building far from the craziness of Brand Blvd. We ordered the Combo Grill (one each of chicken, rib eye, and ground beef skewers), which also came with their ridiculously tasty cabbage salad, hummus, rice and pita. I am huge on value, and this dish is more than enough for two hungry diners. We also ordered the baba ghannouj, which was fantastic. The atmosphere is very casual and the staff were friendly and inviting. This place really feels like a great neighborhood restaurant, where the owners would know the diners, etc.
Any previous visit and this would have been a five-star review...That being said, today I would still give five stars for the food, but zero for the service. Why zero? It was practically non-existent.After being ignored by both servers for a while, despite only two tables being occupied when I arrived, I finally ordered. The food was brought, and everything was fine. Then, I tried to engage with one server, and then the other, and neither was willing. When you get passed by again and again and your eye contact is ignored - by people who do this for a living - then something is wrong. This experience is in total contrast to previous experiences, particularly when I was attended by the older lady there. She is always pleasant and professional, but her goodwill was largely undermined today.Whenever Im in LA this is one of my top, go-to places. No longer.
Nice little restaurant with parking space in the back. The servers here are very pleasant. Food were delicious and did not take long at all!
We were walking past Skafs on a cold December evening and decided to try it out. The welcome was friendly and service very attentive. We had various dishes: baba ganoush, prawn kebabs, falafel and some baklava to finish. The baba ganoush was a highlight. Despite the pita bread being commercial (not homemadewe enjoyed the flavours. Definitely recomended.
Excellent family run restaurant. Fairly standard selection of Lebanese/middle eastern favorites, with a few specialty items like frog legs. All dips are freshly made and delicious. The portions for the meals are pretty large, Id recommend splitting one appetizer and a grilled plate.
Its rare when you can go to a restaurant, order off the menu, and know that it will be good. Weve been to Scafs many many times, and order new things, and still dont have a favorite because everything is so good. The baklava is some of the best Ive ever had, the cabbage salad is outstanding, and their cheese roll appetizers or something we order every time.
Best hummus in town. The fish and grilled kebabas are wonderful also.
Skaf has been at this location for such a long time and the quality never disappoints. The owners are Lebanese and the food is very authentic. So SO SO good. The kababs are amazing and the hummus is so good. the salads...everything pretty much is top notch. The baklavas are not so intense and melt in your mouth. Syrup is held and not drenched like it should be.Great place for a date and for a rich cuisine.Get the Lebanese Ashta Desert! You will Thank me!
Nice little place. Food is really good and tasty, but i do think portions are somewhat small for the price. For example, we order the kibbeh nayeh (its raw), was very good in flavor but waayy too little for it to cost $11, it was like a very thin layer of meat in a tiny plate. Other than that, the other dishes we order were savory and good. I would recomend it.
One of the best Lebanese restaurants. Staff is super nice and courteous. If you dont know the dishes they can give you great suggestions and the results are always good. If you are vegetarian or even vegan you can still order a full meal. Amazing!
Hands down the best falafel we have had in SoCal. Excellent texture and flavor. Super smooth hummus and house made baklava (Yes. You can taste the difference). The lamb chops are a must! Very inviting and informative staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Skafs is a win.
Great food, friendly staff, has converted me into a regular.Update: this has become one of my favorite places to go whenever I want a good healthy food.
This place has wonderful food, and great service. Friendly staff. I LOVE the cabbage salad and their hummus is delish! We get the combo plates and share between two couples - plenty of food. Highly recommend! Im only sorry its closed on Sundays.
While in California for the Rose Bowl, we wandered upon this restaurant while walking around Glendale near our hotel. I have always heard good things about this chain restaurant. I was shocked by how crowded the restaurant was, especially during winter break from college. We ordered our food and was lucky enough to get a place to sit down.
Very very delicious appetizers. They have one of the best Tabolas i have ever had.
Great friendly service from the moment I arrived. Even better than expected at every step. You get more than you pay for even at the price. Each course compliments the other. Nice variety on the menu.Efficient attentive staff. Quick response and good table layout. Comfortable furniture and nice dishes and presentation.Several parking options nearby.I ate too much but felt good because it was all healthful and fresh. The spicy garlic potatoes are with the time, let alone the cabbage salad. Each item and sauce is its own well designed piece of a great meal.
From the atmosphere and customer service to the quality of the food, Skafs Lebanese Cuisine was a superb experience for me.I dined here a few nights ago for the first time and was really impressed with the customer service. A man, who seemed to be the manager, genuinely wanted to know my friend and I liked our specialty drinks. I ordered the rose water beverage and my friend got the blueberry juice beverage. I thought both were too watered down but still tasty. I let him know and he took it with a smile and told us his favorite, which was the blueberry one.We shared the SPICY POTATOES ($7appetizer, which was great. The manager gave us a free side of GARLIC SPREAD (normally $5to go along with the potatoes. It was such a perfect (and generouscombination.I ordered the LAMB KEBOB ($16entree - medium rare - and came with rice (or fries), their famous cabbage salad, hummus & pita bread. Oh, it was delicious. Everything was great. My friend ordered the COMBO PLATE ($19because she wanted to try a little bit of everything. Her dish was delicious as well.I will definitely come back again. Loved everything and cannot wait to try other dishes. They have a small parking lot available for you or theres always street parking.
