Six Acres Restaurant - Australian restaurant in Brisbane, Australia
Spot on food with outstanding service.
Come here every year but this year not happy. Paid $55 for a steak - couldn’t even get the knife through it. They took it back to kitchen (with my side of greens on my plate that I had paid separately foragreed it was bad and replaced it. Second steak I managed a few mouthfuls before again was tough and sinew etc. My greens were not returned. When I mentioned the second steak not being much better and that it must be a bad batch of this cut - the waiter started to dissect my steak in front of me and made me feel like a child. He said he would ‘discount’ my meal! I was charged $35 for 4 mouthfuls of steak and a few chips. Not happy!!
Wonderful meal and the service was fantastic.Brett the manager was very professional and friendly what a great team.Thankyou for everthing.
Beautiful delicious and very reasonable price and very welcoming warming staff
The service was fantastic, personal but professional at the same time, and the food was sensational. From entree to mains and dessert, everything was what you hope for at a good restaurant, fresh tasty and presented beautifully.
Really disappointing attempt of service tonight - a Saturday night. Main restaurant website and Google Maps data both show as closing at 9:30pm on a Saturday night. We (group of 4walked in just before 9pm for dessert and coffee and were told the restaurant and kitchen were already closed - and we couldn’t even be served a coffee. Excuse of a quiet night was given but the experience is going to keep us away time and again! Expect better of such a brand and level of restaurant - especially on a Saturday night
Extremely disappointing, being a steak orientated restaurant I ordered a Scotch Fillet done medium rare. The steak was cooked perfectly however the cut of beef was so tough and chewy I could not bring myself to eat any more than 4 bites. Staff responded with a don’t care attitude which added to the poor experience. Strongly advise against ordering a steak at this restaurant
Wonderful steak how good the mash and beans were actually hot on arrival to the table. Congratulations to all the staff legendary...
Tried to order a drink at the bar and was totally ignored. Terrible service.
Wine selection wasn’t good enough but still got few wine from Barossa valley and other famous regions.Had a beef tartar and oysters for entree.Didn’t have any sauce for oyster but still fresh and yum🙂Steak was good. Cooked well. Hope they have more sauce option.Mushroom sauce was too salty😢Chicken was soft but didn’t expect there would be bone…😢 didn’t easy to eat.Mac and cheese was good😁I reckon they have enough staff but didn’t look after table😅 hope they were more friendly
Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sauces were amazing. A really nice dinner overall.
BIG disappointment with this place. I did a booking last week for 9 pp, all the process went through the platform they use to reserve a table, I received the confirmation of the booking and even a survey a couple days after my booking, we arrived to the place and it was closed, I never received any cancellation or a call. This was for a birthday, so literally we were standing out with cake and balloons in hands. I didn’t feel the need of calling to confirm, due Rydges is a hotel we use very often, they have in google times as open on Mondays as well, lucky there were more restaurants down the street. And just to finish 3 of the guests are black in the Rydges priority guest rewards, again very disappointed.
Without a doubt the best modern quisine with fantastic well timed service Ive struck in years. The food is fantastic the service is highly professional and super friendly. Every plate presented was perfection with spot on service, its been 3 years since Ive experienced such a fantastic establishment.
Delicious food, and good service. Well be back again
Huge portions for the price (we were so full after the charcuterie board!also a lovely place to dine! The nice lady that was serving us at the beginning really made the entire dinner much more pleasant - little things like checking in to make sure the food was okay. The gentleman who recommended the wine and cocktail also did a great job with his recommendations.
Steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare. Best mushroom sauce Ive ever had. Dessert was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. See photo. Staff were delightful and obviously knew the food very well
Had dinner here for valentines day was a wonderful experience waiter was absolutely lovely food was beautiful bit of a wait time between meals but good things come to those who wait and was worth it thanks 😊
Excellent service. High quality food.
First time dining at Six Acres last night and we were very impressed. Both the service and the food were faultless. Our Tomahawk steak was cooked absolutely perfect. Special thanks to our waiter Brent for recommending some new wines that matched perfectly with our meal.Honestly one of the best meals we have had in a while and we look forward to returning very soon. :-)
Can only give 5 stars for this would give 6 if it was possible. Visiting from the UK we were expecting toby carvery type of experience and bernard Matthews Turkey no disrespect to either. The 6 acres was just phenomenal. Amazing place and atmosphere. Top class food which was presented red so well and the service was fantastic. No expense was spared for the restaurant and as a customer we saw this. There was even free drinks. All I can say is well done the melon, ham, beef and the roast potatoes were just awesome.
I was just reading someone elses review about the issue of restaurants that are tied to hotels as theyre rarely great and often the meals are just churned out. Well, this certainly isnt the case with Six Acres. We (four of uswent to the Six Acres again this week for dinner and hoped it would be as good as the previous two visits. We neednt have worried; the place is still on top of its game and is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. The setting is great. The surrounding area is being developed and there are some fab little venues nearby. The restaurant itself is well decorated and modern. The food is unbelievably good; all four of us ordered different dishes for all courses and all tried each others. We were all in agreement that the food was a superb...every single meal. Every plate was clean.
We were staying at Rydges for the weekend and planned to dine at the Beerhaus next door while enjoying a few ales. The Beerhaus menu had changed from traditional German fare to disgusting American mac and cheese and burgers. As this is not the kind of food we like to dine out for, we decided to dine at Rydges. Again the Paddock Bar’s menu had changed to American rubbish served in a cardboard box as well. So we ended up at Six Acres. We ordered the eye fillet, rump and lamb cutlets. Sides of mash and broccolini and bok choy. And a dessert to share Creme Brûlée. All were fantastic and delicious. Although my brother-in-law complained the rack or lamb was chops not a rack. Technically he is correct, as once the rack is broken up it becomes cutlets. The service was great. I can’t remember his name but we had a young fellow from Miles, who couldn’t be more helpful. I will definitely return.
Fantastic !I have some food intolerances and allergies. The wait staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the ingredients used in all the dishes. My meals were adjusted by the kitchen. It was fabulous !
Fantastic meal and really attentive staff, would give this place more stars if I could.
Booked the Christmas Buffet Lunch on line for December 25th. Staff were very friendly on arrival and throughout the buffet. We were seated on the second floor which appeared to be the overflow for the restaurant. Food was placed in L-shaped buffet but had no sneeze covers.Lunch was good for a buffet but lacked the Christmas theme. Roast beef and ham were good. Seafood was a bit tasteless and bland. Turkey was a processed roll instead of real turkey. No roasted or mashed potatoes or stuffing. No Christmas cake or minced meat pies. Food was good but seemed to be on a budget?
Excellent services and friendly staff. We have a child and it was very well accommodated. The restaurant staff was friendly and attention to detail The food was good and decent size. We are in a group of seven and because we had the bookings separately the staff member advised not able to put us in one table. That was the only disappointment as we saw many empty big tables.
One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Impressive restaurant in both food and service
Greeted by Steph at the front desk and was absolutely welcoming. Service was absolutely exceptional from the Restaurant Team Leader Joel. The food and wine was absolutely perfectly Cooked from the entree to the Scotch Fillet and Chicken Breast for mains! Unfortunately couldn’t fit in any dessert. A big credit to The chef’s as well on the night June and his team Ben and Locky.
We went early on a Thursday night and were hesitate because it was quiet, but definitely do not regret! For starters we had a focaccia & the kangaroo. Both were divine and couldn’t fault. The kangaroo was tender with plenty of flavour and the focaccia was the best I’d ever had.For mains we had steaks, both cuts were cooked perfectly and very delicious.Make sure you leave room for dessert! We had the apple tart & it was mouth watering. The caramel sauce and butterscotch ice cream are a great touch.Service was also good and cannot fault. Will be back for sure.
On arrival, we where ignored, seems everyone was very busy so where jubious about how the night would unfold. Had cocktails in the lovely lounges near the bar and relaxed, great idea before sitting at table for dinner, which we found to be very noisy, would of been great to have some plants to buffer noise and some privacy, or even the option to dine outside on the verandah or some tables in bar area away from noise. Once seated we had a lovely big round table in the middle, the only one in the resturant and the flowers in the middle of the table would of been great done in a low round vase, not a tall vase blocking our conversation to each other. Our meals where, oysters, garlic breads and Panni, Steak, Kangaroo, Salmon and Duck foolowed by green beans, roasted potatoe and chips, followed by breme brulee. Our family can cook so we make pretty impressive meals at home, so it takes alot to blow our socks off. This food menu not only did that, but the food size portion where big as well as the sides. Wed love to praise the chefs, manager and the staff whom made up for all our reservations in the beginging, we where treated to wine tasting of other wines we had not tried and very indepth information from the bar waiter whom knew hes suppliers. I would have liked to give 5 star overall as the food and drinks where worth it, but they have to have someone at front desk to welcome guests on arrival and some quieter dinning areas away from the noise........4.8 is my score which it wont let me do on the stars above....WELL WORTH TRYING......Rozz/Forest Lake
The steak was first class and delicious - the side of bok choy and broccolini was also tasty. Staff are friendly and the service is great!
Amazing restaurant. I had the opportunity to eat the buffet breakfast here by chance , as I was staying in the hotel and the brand I work for was holding a conference in the exhibition grounds.I just had to return for the dinner experience. They did such an amazing job, that my wife and I decided to have our daughter’s 18th party there. The food was fantastic and our guests raved about the quality and portions served to us.My wife and I have been back multiple times for dinner since and the high standard continues. The wait staff are knowledgeable with wine pairings and the food quality is always perfect.I’ve yet to eat anything I don’t like there yet.Compliments to all staff for an unbelievable dining experience, every time.We will be back, again and again.
1 star for our eventual waiter who was helpful, happy and quick. 1 star for the beer/ wine which they were able to pour from the tap/ from the bottle without butchering it.$4.50 Oysters that were room temp, milky and mushy, honestly they were disgusting. Sent them back after forcing 1 down and spitting a half chewed one back in the shell. Hoped the Kilpatrick would be better as often when Oysters not at their best cooking/ sauce will help, they were a disaster, why was the sauce so thick? Horrid.Medium rare steak was overcooked, nicely presented and mash was really nice to be fair. But for the eye watering prices you expect a lot more. The waiter who served us first was a total toss pot, imagine having that bloke as your first impression guy. Honestly with only 60 reviews at this point when I write this, many must be fake because this place is not worth the money, its not even close.EDIT (In response to the reply from SA):They were awful, the fact I chew naturals is a sign to most who eat them that I enjoy them and eat a lot of them. Its possible they were delivered fresh but the storage options were poor from there as they were room temp borderline warm when I got them (gross). The Kilpatricks were not taken off the bill, we ordered 3 Kils, 3 Chef specials and 6 naturals. The 6 naturals were so bad I sent them back and they were taken off the bill, thank you. We ate the others as were hungry and couldnt possibly have asked for them to be removed.Errrmmm, flash grilling should have had it undercooked not over?!?!?!As for the guy who informed us about the time issue on the Tomahawk, he was great as per original message. First guy, horror show. All good, just saying it how we experienced it. For the money should be panels better.
Six Acres experience was an absolute pleasure!!! Firstly, the area (locationwhere the restaurant is located is fabulous (Lane filled with amazing Bars & restaurants)! The restaurant was so easy to locate (next to Brisbane Showgroundsand was very welcoming! The presentation was great with good amount of lights, people and other amenities.BRETT was a pleasure to deal with - He explained every part of the menu clearly and even gave us a bit of knowledge about the meat cuts and things!!One of the BEST fine dining restaurant’s we have ever been!!!-> Entree’- Yellow Fin Tuna - crusted in sesame seeds w/ watermelon, black olives & Wasabi aioli - The most DELICIOUS Tuna I have ever had, the dish was filled with amazing different flavours and we didn’t want to stop eating it - Perfect portion as well - 5/5-> Mains 1 - Eye fillet (Medium - From the Grillwith Mushroom forest sauce - The meat was perfectly cooked with good amount of seasoning and flavours. Mushroom sauce was great and it went perfectly well with the Eye fillet! - 5/5-> Mains 2 - 4 Point Rack of Lamb - Lamb was well cooked with good marination! Vegetable ratatouille, garlic & chive butter, wild forest mushrooms were NOT WELL Presented - and I got a bit of supermarket gravy taste with the sauce - considering the price of the dish ($49- I would expect this to be well presented and well made - 3/5-> Sides - Crunchy Fries with Parmigiana cheese and Truffle oil - I cannot believe I am saying this but, The BEST Fries I have ever had - It was absolutely DELICIOUS with perfect seasoning and parmigiana cheese - Cooked with perfection- really cannot wait to get back to eat it again!!! 5/5-> Dessert - White Chocolate & Star Anise Brulée with Assorted berry compote, fresh cream - One of the BEST Brûlée’s we have ever had! We had dinner here last night. Love love loved it. Amazing food!!! Amazing wine and fantastic staff. We will be back!!!!!!
Honestly I would give 10 stars if I could. The meals were INCREDIBLE and the staff were more amazing then we could’ve asked for. We had dinner there on Friday night (30th novand I hope the staff realise how welcome they made us feel and just the whole experience of dining at Six Acres was perfect. We will definitely be back, thank you!!
The food was great.. they were understaffed and so were a bit stressed.. which didnt bother me too much but they were a bit like deer in headlights. A few staff were calm and explained delay...which was fine
Google asked for another review so who am I to argue ?! Really great food, excellent wine menu and an even better level of service ! The staff are all amazing and knowledgeable, particularly Jack ! Sarah also responded to our previous review positively - a true class act.
An amazing meal ❤️. Loved the service and venue. The wait staff was helpful, and very informative. And the food came out quick :). Really loved the Creme Brulee, and the Lamb! Definitely coming back
Superb food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and informative about the menu. We were made to feel very comfortable. Highly recommended.
Thanks to our lovely waitress Daniel, the service is amazing, food is out of heaven. Sure will be back!!!
The rib eye and the rack of lamb are to die for! The service is excellent, we will sure be back
Went with a 50% discount and was still fairly underwhelmed. One saving grace is that the dessert quality and portions were great. Hard to recommend at full prices.
An absolutely incredible dining experience. Served by extremely friendly and attentive staff, they knew their stuff and werent afraid to share their knowledge/opinion. Steaks were phenomenal, they were cooked to absolute perfection. Paired with perfect sides (creamy creamy mash and roasted root veggiesand divine sauce (peppercorn was on point!). Overall a 10/10 experience. Will be back, and will definitely be telling anyone willing to listen!
Great experience from start to finish. Greeted and/or acknowledged by every member of staff within eye contact. Each member of staff were very courteous, professional and knowledgeable of the food and beverages they were serving (and Im sure much more! The food arrived in prefect time (ie. I finished my beer and it arrivedand was cooked as asked for. I had the eye fillet, which had great flavour and was super tender as it should be. My partner had the lamb rack. The mustard crust was amazing. Wonderful, relaxed dining experience.
Ate here recently and the steak was under-cooked, the "crispy" fries werent crispy at all, and couldnt taste parmesan or truffle. I then decided to try a dessert, which was okay but took about 30 minutes to arrive (the restaurant was quiet at the time as well. Very disappointing.
Hubby and I had an absolutely marvellous date night at Six Acres last week. From the warm and very attentive staff, to the wonderful and relaxing ambience we were more than thrilled. The food was par excellence - we had the chefs special oysters and a beautifully presented beef carpaccio for entrees. For mains we had the sirloin and eye fillet, both cooked to perfection. My angus eye fillet was the best steak Ive ever had! Although we were sufficiently satiated, we made room for the apple tartartan and boy, it was just brilliant! Kudos to the chefs and the lovely staff, we shall definitely be going back there again.
To the ENTIRE Team!I just want to say Thank You for the fantastic experience last night at your restaurant. The minute we walked through the door your customer service was exceptional. The restaurant itself was the perfect vibe but what made it amazing was the service, the food and the continual vibe that was in the restaurant the entire time we were there. It was , to date , the best restaurant we have experienced in terms of the whole package. Including the tasteful music that set a great tone to the aesthetically pleasing surroundings. We have dined in several restaurants as we travel alot and we want to show our appreciation for this by sending this review. The food was exceptional so please do compliment the chef. We loved the entire teams dedication to ensure our night was perfect. And to top it off the awesome suprise of singing happy birthday to my partner who had been working such long hours and actually got the most amazing suprise. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend to anyone!Once again thank you for a perfect night!
Great dinner with Fish of the Day in delicious sauce. The steak and salmon were great too but you will have to buy any sides separately which really adds to the bill.
Excellent food and first class service to provide gluten free food to us. Even going to cooking a special dish for my wife. Amazing!!
