Definitely it’s the worst museum I ever been. Rude people working. You pay 12€ for something you can see in less than 1 hour (and it’s bad btw). And there’s more bad stuff… however I can’t fully describe how bad was my experience. Giving one star because it’s not possible to give 0. Never again!!! Don’t recommend!!! Hipster material.

This is a museum for modern and contemporary artIt is well organized. The exhibits are very limited. You can be out in 1 hour.Only visit there if you are a big fan of modern art or if you have a museum pass.

Interesting place from architecture point of view. From art point of view - inside could be very different exhibitions

It does not worth 12 euro for just one exhibition. Better buy a museum pass.

Very expensive for such a small exhibition (12€ for an exhibition of around a dozen artists. The layout was also a bit confusing- the blurb about the artists was not always at the beginning. The curation was mostly good- the paintings were interesting.

(March 2022).There were two available exhibitions, and I choose the one about painters who opposed national socialism. You can easily spend a good hour if you are interested in the subject.

A really impressive piece of contemporary architecture in the heart of Frankfurt’s old town. I loved the lil piece of art right outside, and it’s on my list to visit the inside as soon as possible!

Great exhibitions in the middle of the city, easily accessible by public transport. Instead of an audio guide, take your smartphone with headphones with you and scan the app over the exhibition. The Kunsthalle allows a great presentation of the artists works in thematic blocks.

Interesting exhibition but the price quality ratio is quite disappointing. For the same price you can stay in the Städel museum for 4-5 hours, but this Schirn Kunsthalle has only one floor of exhibitions. Before you realise, you are already at the exit in less than an hour. I don’t think this small amount of content is worth the 12€. However, it is still worth visiting if you have a museum pass.

Our daughter attends to the music school lessons there and she likes it very much. They dont really push children hard, its more like a game with basic music theory.

Lovely exhibit of woman in surrealism, we had time tickets because of corona to stop overcrowding but in the end it felt a bit to many people where allowed inside at the same time!

The first museum I have been to where they do not like children. The ladies working there should be given guns! That would complete the atmosphere in the exhibition room. It was a very stressful experience.

In addition to impolite employees at the desk, VERY impolite controllers in the rooms, too many people for such a small space, I wasted 14 Euros for an exhibition that I didnt like. Not even an audio guide in English !...

As far as I know, they do not have a perminent exhibition. Last week, I visited 2 exhibitions; one about female artists including Frida Kahlo, one is by Richard Jackson. Both were really amazing. I recommend you to buy your ticket online because there was a very long line in front of the cashier. Also, you can buy a combined ticket to save some money.

Loved the idea behind this particular gallery based on unorthodox musical instruments. But I give 4 not 5 because it should be more clear to the public that to really enjoy the soul of the musical instruments mixed into your living space you had to be there for certain times of the day on certain times of the week. I saw a guitar made completely from parts of guns... Very cool

Permanent exhibition? No. No collection. No stock. So all is changing often and they have to beg for any item to be exposed here. And this is performed in an outstanding way. Many fabulous exhibitions have been composed over the years with item that have not been released before or never been relinquished to third parties. On my Top list: Miro, infinite jest, German PoP Art,

One of the best museums in Frankfurt. It is situated on a really good location in the Innenstadts Römer square. It always has interesting exhibitions, kudos to the curators. And the best part for us, there is a playground inside, the Minischirn, where you can leave the kids for a maximum od 90 minutes while youpu enjoy the exibitions. The tickiet for the Minischirn is included in the price for the exibition, just ask for it - you dont pay anything extra. There is also a very good restaurant by the entrance, with very good coffee. Yes, it is OK to sit just for coffee :)

Small museum with enough room for two small shows, but always cycling through a number of good exhibits. I suggest looking up what they have before you go, to see if its worth getting the Kombi ticket.

I cant say I was too impressed with the current exhibitions about the wild and about Africa. Aesthetically, everything was nicely presented. Content wise, im not sure I follow the curatorial decisions. The space of each exhibition was large, entrance was 7,00€ pro exhibition, so 14,00€, which I found to be a bit too much for this specific combo, especially as I didnt see the artistic value of the Africa exhibition, beyond the context of colonialism, and I didnt feel like the perspective was critical, as I believe it should be

Great art gallery in the centre of Frankfurt. It displays temporary exhibitions of different themes, all of them very interesting. In addition, it contains explanations and comments, both in German and English, about the artists life, the paintings, etc, which tremendously helps! However, I just found the building a bit confusing to visit.

Cool location near old town center. I came here for the Basquiat exhibit and had a very good experience. My German is limited but the staff spoke good English and customer service was very friendly. The layout of the museum is also really easy to navigate. I spent about two hours here and will return for other exhibits.

Always very nice exhibitions but Thursday evenings are really not a good day to visit. The guided groups even prevent you to walk, so you just get stuck and wait they move to continue the visit. Very very annoying, the museum should limit to one group.

Went to see the Basquiat exhibition. The exhibition was nicely put together. I understand that the art is expensive, but 12 Euro for an exhibition that takes about an hour to see is a little expensive. Also, for this exhibition, you have to drop off your purse/ backpack and coat at the cloakroom. Obviously, the current cloakroom is not meant to cater to that many people. It took a long time to drop off and get the coats. Almost as long as the time we spent in the exhibition. But generally I love the Schirn and have seen many exhibitions over the years. Its a fantastic art hall.

I dont think I have missed too many displays here and Ive loved every single one of them. Id highly recommend that you try to go on a weekday at an unusual hour to avoid the crowds since art should be enjoyed with a minimum number of interruptions. The bookstore on the way out is well worth your time to browse on your way out and theres coffee right across the walkway when you go out the front doors.

Great exhibitions but it can be very crowded. Be aware that taking pictures is not allowed. You need to request a permit at the cassier desk before entering the museum.
