Had dinner and it was delicious
Very delicious crispy barramundi yellow curry
$31 dollars for lunch takeaway rump was tough and gravy was bland manager couldnt care less and hung up on me , coming from $18 and beautiful food to what it is now has gone downhill.go somewhere else.very disappointed
After going to this venue for as long as I can remember and the whole family enjoying their food, we decided to go there to see what the new menu was like after new owners. While the menu is good the cheap lunch menu is now gone. It’s full price and full meals all day everyday. Will need to find a new place for lunches when we go out on the odd occasion as this was once our go too. My husband ordered a schnitzel……it’s a processed schnitzel in the shape of a love heart. As soon as we saw this we knew it was not the usual awesome pastoral schnitzel. Wasn’t nice. Was not what we expected. My meal was awesome. But the schnitzels…..what happened to the home made REAL CHICKEN schnitzels?? Pastoral was known for its chicken schnitzels now all you get is a giant processed chicken nugget. Bring back the real meat!! Also the salad, feta cheese and olives…..potato salad, cheese and carrots and pasta salads went down a treat there now that’s also gone. If the new owners don’t bring back cheap lunches with smaller serves or keep up the high food quality that was once there I feel this place will have to close its doors.
Dinner with my daughter, absolutely delicious
Really nice well priced food
Have stayed here and currently staying here again for work. They look after their guests magnificently and the food and service is great the rooms are great. Only place is stay in Augusta!
Food good. Betting facilities are top quality.Large selection of beers andwines . Friendly service. Pokey room is excellent.Room and accommodation very good.
Chef got 1 meal wrong and for the price and considering We ordered early there could be no reason why there should have been a Stuff up ,Im not in a hurry to Waste any more money there
Dropped in got a meal very quick service , they actually had salads not just lettice on the plate , good food, very pleasant atmosphere.
They have nice steak there.
Had a delicious and cheap lunch there. There was homemade potato salad too. Lovely friendly lady serving me. Im looking forward to going back again.
One of my favorite places for over 25 years.Great food and drinks.Fantastic friendly service
The Drive through/bottle shop is basic but the prices are good and the drive through staff are nice.
Was dissatisfied with the wait time & size of the portion for the money spent. Looked like roast of the day! So asked for a refund which was refused by the chef saying “ the price of the meat was expensive”. Well I’m sorry if you can’t provide what your menu says, Take it off 🙄
Headed out to the Pastoral Hotel for a bite to eat recently on a work trip to Port Augusta. This was on a recommendation from another work colleague. I ordered the Filet Mignong with mashed potatoes and vegetables, with a rich, mushroom sauce. This is probably the best steak Ive had in a long time, let alone in Port Augusta. The bacon wrapped steak was 350 grams, cooked to perfection, tender and jucy. Just quietly, I think the Chef is a relation of Gordon Ramsey. Dont take my word for it, if you are in Port Augusta, head out to the Pastoral and order a steak, you wont be disappointed. Sorry I didnt take a photo of my steak, I was too busy enjoying it!
Friday nights has the best meat tray raffle ever. We got crossed up with the lions club members and had a ball.
Female bar staff had a terrible attitude and one in particular was very aggressive regarding mask wearing etc. I would not recomend this place to anyone 😡.Food was very average and over priced
Stayed and had the car broken into. Would not recommend parking overnight. Rooms are ok however had 2 rooms over 3 nights and both toilets dripped all night.
Mondays great schnitzel offer for under $15.00 with chips, salad and sauce
Most creative pub menu we have seen in a long time, great meals well presented with better salads than the usual
We contacted a former local, were do we go for good pub grub in Port Augusta? This is the pub he recommended. He was right, the steak sandwich hit the spot, the fish and chips were delicious and the other halves chicken snitty, amazing. Her chicken snitty had an amazing crumb and chips cooked to perfection. We went on a Saturday night and we were lucky to get a table.
Worst service I’ve seen. Staff are rude and arrogant. Tasty meals, if only the chef could deliver them to your table.
Great staff and really good food... Been there a few times and I am very happy with the service and Tucker
The staff were friendly however not very knowledgeable on their own menu and got confused when ordering same goes for kitchen staff as they came out to confirm again what was ordered. All the food look good but I had the Bourbon St Pork with Pear and Rocket salad. The pork was cooked perfectly and the bourbon sauce had a nice sweetness to it, the salad was nice however the pears were from a can, it is disappointing to have tinned pears when they are plentiful and in season.
Staff are friendly. I had a nice rump steak cooked to my liking. Good value too, very good value.
Great country meal and plenty on the plate to eat. If you want a great steak you cant go pass it. Easy parking friendly staff and the beer is cold. On my to do list again 👍
Very good service four large meals served reasonably quick .Best Lambs Fry I have had.
Looks like a dump, but seriously the best pub meal I have had for a while. Clean and not too bad at all. It was dark, might look better in the daylight.
Great friendly service, delicious food. Highly recommended
A great Sports Bar and Hotel with a nice priced happy hour during the week days, just book ahead if your looking for accommodation to be safe.
Amazing food. Great pricing. One of the best pubs in town. One of my favourites
Very clean good sized rooms.... staff were so very friendly...definately recomend this place
Great meal, friendly staff lunch mains $13.50 good value
Great prices and selection of choices for meals
Great atmosphere, great service and meals, great value. The best pub in Pt Augusta!
Lovely meals very friendly atmosphere from all walks of life
Ambience of a modern country pum meets restaurant quality options. The rump of lamb was very good and the price of $27 reasonable. Made better by the $5 pints.
Awesome meal reasonably priced & friendly bar staff.
Great family atmosphere, TAB facilities, Poker Machines, Hotel and Motel accommodation at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended
Absolutely disgusted in the way you get treated at this hotel. The customer service was disgusting. So rude!! Sorry i cant say that I will back the next time I visit dubbo. Very disappointed
Great meal, reasonable prices, good value over all!
Great place for an ice cold beer and an amazing feed, at reasonable prices. Clean environment with lots of room for a big crowd. Bar staff are extremely friendly and always ready to do their best to help.
Friendly service & a decent pub menu at a reasonable price. Go very cautiously if you need to eat gluten free meals...I have reacted to salad & roast pork & I think it is because they put chips cooked in the same oil as the heavily crumbed schnitzel on my plate....I didnt eat them but they were touching the roast meat & salad.
Nice food and Excellent service all around . Thank you to the Pastoral Hotel Staff.
Recommended by locals. Chips were a bit soggy this time around, but rest of the meal was great. Well worth the $
Wow. We arrived at 11:30pm after a long drive from Adelaide. We were lucky to get a room without prebooking. Absolutely beautiful room! The beds are beyond amazing, everything you need for the night, huge tv with ample channels. Sort of disappointed we are only here for one night! Bloody beautiful.
Visited the Pastoral in August 2014. A group of 15 dining in the bistro, we were told on arrival that we were late, & to hurry up and order as the kitchen was about to close at 8pm... after being told on the phone it closed at 830. The service from the surly attendant was rude & abrupt. Probably the rudest waitress I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. One member of our party asking about the serving size of the burger had "its normal burger size!" barked at him. We should have walked out.The rest of the service in the bistro was average, our meals were hurriedly brought out & slapped on the tables by staff who clearly did not want to be there. The food was average, dirty mens toilets with a smashed toilet bowl.In this day & age, abhorrent service & average food is unforgivable. At least the service in the front bar was good. Its a case of "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". Ill never set foot in the pastoral again. Ians Western Hotel is far superior on all fronts.
