A truly mixed-use building, feels like a maze. It has a poor vertical connection. Be careful about your time when visiting this building for first-timer, because you may get confuse. Alternative for motorcycle rider, could park your vehicle at TEC basement, the entrance is next to this building on Jl. Tunjungan. For car driver, could park on-street at Jl. Genteng Kali.

Local heritage need to be develop so we wont forget our historical event

Good facilities, easy to book, even not easy to find access and not easy to reach from parking area. Eventhough, hospitality need to be improved due to much arrogant. Better during pandemic co-working should be changed in to in-working, since we cant collaborate to working in this space caused by individual space only :(

I found my old school chair here !! It was in my high school when I attended there 1995-1998. Yes. I am a Smala student. A school with a lot of history things. Including the chair. That cant be moved. Its heavy you know.

THIS MUSEUM IS LOCATED INSIDE THE POLICE PALACE: VERY POOR, NOT SO PROFESSIONAL EXHIBITION.(SURABAYA IS A CITY WITH BIG TRAFFIC PROBLEMS, LOW QUALITY FOOD, OVERPOPULATION AND SQUALID ARCHITECTURE.)

The artwork outside in the lobby is actually cooler than the museum itself. Unless you like looking at old furniture, it’s not that interesting. Indonesia needs more proper museums showcasing the huge variety of ancient local art, stone carvings, batik, etc...

Our visit to this museum was unplanned because we came to Siola to access public service. This museum displays some Surabaya-related history.I think itll be better to have a official guidance at certain times for museum visitors (eg. Every 10 am and 3 pm), so the visitors can get more information and knowledge from this museum.

The building mainly functions as a one-stop administration service for residents of Surabaya. The museum takes up one-third of the first floor, and shows the work of Surabaya City government. It exhibits photos, old documents (mostly old citizens registration and logbook, e.g. birth certificate & marriage record, citizen IDs), mannequins wearing uniforms of public servants, tools and equipment used in public services, including old hospital equipment (which was a bit eerieand several vehicles used as public transport in the old days.Its actually a good idea to have the museum in this busy building. People can stop by while doing their administrative stuff. If this museum were located elsewhere with less traffic of people, it would probably become a quiet and deserted place.Theres a souvenir shop in the corner of 1st floor, next to the museum.

Come here to learn for exam, do work and any other task isnt wrong. The place is very great. The atmosphere here is suitable for those who wants to complete their task and job.

Its a pity I only had lil time for my last trip & it was almost dark when I arrived here, so I couldnt go inside to see this local museum

One stop service for surabaya government. Quite interesting with museum inside and gift shop. And they have coworking space in across the building. The building itself was a shopping mall before but the government renovated it into beautiful building now. An iconic place in surabaya.

Nice place for a quick visit while you are on a tour, but does not worth a sole visitation. The museum displays some pieces related to Surabaya, but there is no information that could not be gained from elsewhere. They have too few collection from pre-colonial and colonial era, more stuffs from modern Surabaya.

Interesting place. There are mini museum, some Integrated public service units of Surabayas government, and also having co-working space for young people. These places are clean and comfortable.

Located inside the Mal Pelayanan Publik (Public Service Mallarea, hides a museum area displaying items of historical significance to Surabaya city. The museum is wonderful, second best only to the Museum of Sampoerna in terms of how the museum is organized and managed. Youre privy to maps and historical records detailing how Surabaya come about. They also showcases food, traditional dresses, musical instruments, famous Surabaya people, antique chairs and desks, and many more - including the explanation of how they came to be. These written displays are also provided in English, and most of them are correctly translated - which, if youre a museum enthusiast who doesnt speak Indonesian, is a pleasant surprise.However, since the museum area is inside a public service mall, most people who go here are public officials who work in the building or civilians who are perusing their services. This means that your typical touristy get up might not be looked upon well during your visit - try to scrounge up a buttoned up shirt or blouse in combination with a pair of pants (jeans are fineor knee-length skirt.

Hirtoric place from war time now it been turn to museum before it was depstore Siola .but they still use the same name for the museum . Inside of this building they have also public servis office for all the citizen that want to make some papers . They have quite cool collection of history about surabaya during war until now ,many thing been shown there such cloths ,old money ,old paper from dutch rules , equipment , uniform , furnitures etc , anyway they open from 9am to 9pm everyday . And they also have gift shop inside they provide food selling and drink too ,you can enjoy the food and drink at second floor of the gift shop store , at 3 floor you can find way to relax at siola sky bridge and hang out with friend there ,bcuz they have some garden chair to sit on while enjoying the view of jalan Tunjungan one of vintage building and street in town

This museum is in the same building with some public service unit(unit pelayanan terpadu). Theres so many history and characteristic of this city here. This place is also clean and good arrangement of things and its free to visit this museum. Recommended

Very good place to learn about the history of surabaya. The only thing that annoys me is the parking lot which is located at the 5th floor, while the museum is located at the first floor. Overall is good.

This is a museum that is integrated to several Integrated Service Unit (Unit Pelayanan Terpaduof Surabayas City Government. The information about the collections are very related to Surabaya, such as the map of Surabaya in several hundred years ago, machines that used in Surabaya a long time ago, and souvenirs from Surabayas sister cities. It is free to come here, just enter the building (from the North Sideand follow the instructions.

I should say it was one of the best museum running by Government. It was very clean and comfortable to walk around and see the collections. But I think the collections must be added with things related with Surabaya history. It opens until 9 pm from tuesday to sunday, free, and located in the heart of the city. There also government public services and co-working space in the building.

It is a good place to go. Plus it provides facility for students to work on their assignments like computer, wifi, internet, etc. I highly recommend to use this facility.

Its a nice place, to get to know additional things about indonesia.Whats good is that its free. There is no entry charges or anything..however dont expect a guide. U will have to read the cards to understand. But its not bad.

Always proud of how the government try to develop this place more and more. We visited the museum and explore other parts of the building. So we went to the next floor which is open for public. On the second floor there were some office and a place thats called taman gantung. Many plants are placed here and surprisingly, on the third floor theres a cozy contemporerly coworking place. The place is awesome.

Great integrated place, such mall pelayanan publik... Best ever i known. Near by Tunjungan street which Surabaya museum has great history of kota pahlawan Surabaya... There are many place here for hang out, discussion, learning center and any kind of entertainment. This place also has large parking area in siola building

Located in Gedung Siola, you might need to ask security or some people how to get inside the museum. Because the entrance gate is not discoverable enough - since it is located in mall pelayanan publik Surabaya.The museum explains you about Surabaya. There are a lot of historical thingams inside. They also provide air conditioner so visitors are comofortable enjoying their visit.

Unless you’re really interested in Dutch registration records, you can skip this tiny “museum.” A locomotive section is outside. (September 2018)

I dont visit the museum but the bridge outside which connect with another building. There are some chairs to sit and enjoy the air in the middle town.

This museum needs to be more attractive. But the effort to show ordinary things of 1900s is gone well. It reminds me when i was in elementary school and paints a smile on my face.If you are new to Surabaya and want to visit the real museum, i recommend you to visit Tugu Pahlawan Museum. Best place to relax, find peace, and know something new here. There are many informations about Surabaya. Its free. You can see many things from colonial era in Surabaya, the cultures, traditional things, old vehicles, medical tools, etc. Its also in one place with "Taman Gantung" which is in the third floor. You can see beautiful view there.

This place is not worth making a special trip for.If youre in the area then maybe pop in and take a quick glance but theres nothing that interesting. It is a collection of old artifacts such as an old dental chair with very few annotations so no clue what its all about and why things are on display.The museum seems to be in a relatively busy local government office.

Its a building to make your personal administration form such as Citizens ID Card, License, etc. But, there are also another place on upstairs floors for meeting, workshop, museum etc. Placed on the most strategic area in Surabaya. What a wonderful place!

GREAT museum of the city. Old items from heritage places are exhibit here. No entrance fee. Not too many exhibits here but its adequate for people to have a glimpse of Surabaya.It located also in a historical building in the city. The city took credit for saving the building from economic interest.The whole building has taken over and becoming a city property. Public services offices also took place in this building next to the museum.

Great place for understanding the citys history from before it was founded until today. Theres so many historical collections especially dating back from colonial times. You can also see more collections of the citys historical documents, photographs, and paintings.

Free entrance fee at first floor of Siola Building. They have many old equipment and history like hospital or some government tools. This place is not too big but at least we can spend minimum about 20 minutes to walk around and read some information inside this museum.

A museum that is recently built by the government of Surabaya. A museum displaying some things unique to Surabaya only. There are also some displays of Dutch colonial era objects and a brief history of Surabaya. They also have a tour guide who can speak excellent English. There is no entrance fee here.

This museum is ok to visit but the museum is really lack of historical collection. Every weekend, theres an event being held here. The air conditioner really in function.

A quite new museum and the only one national museum in Surabaya. Surprisingly they have a requested local guide from the staff of the Surabaya Government that can speak English and explain well. But the size of the museum is quite small and not much things to show to the visitor

Amazed by the goverment, who made a museum inside a building that looked like an unused one.At first, I though there were nothing there!The guide was nice, she was good at telling us things, (quite profesional I suppose). But, her outfit was less than a formal clothes.Overall, it was really enjoyable!
