Singalila Jungle Lodge in Ilam

The property is situated in a picturesque small village of palmajua. The place is very remote but the natural beauty is all that you need to know about. It is better to experience such beauty from your eyes rather than words, and to experience such elements one must stay at the singalila jungle lodge.The property is situated in a very centered location and you can have a panoramic view of the surroundings from the property itself.There are limitations as it is located in the remote area but the warmth, hospitality given by the staffs at the property is more than enough. pankaj bhai, sange bhai, anmol bhai and the cook didi made our stay very comfortable and full of fun and entertainment.one can stay a very peaceful no of days in this beautiful and well maintained property without any sort of hassle.i wish them all the very best for the future and will visit them again .

This place is almost an hour away from Dhotrey, situated admist the beautiful forest. More than a homestay, it felt like we were at a retreat! Its perfect to de-stress oneself from all the city life chaos. The food is amazing. The hospitality and management are commendable too.All one can hear whole day is the sound of the birds and insects chirping and the flowing stream nearby.

Thankful to the host for their wonderful space theyve provided us to stay in. The food was commendable. I highly recommend this place if you want a comfortable place to reside in, where there is less pollution, population and one can only hear the sound of the flowing stream.

Had an amazing time there. The staff is kind and humble. Their service was excellent. The taste and quality of food was really good. Its an amazing place to visit. 😇

Just sharing my experience that may not match with others...the location is off beat, therefore needs extra effort on the part of the owners who, in my opinion, lack the zeal....they hardly know cooking and seem to be unaware of the term hospitality....offering a khada doesnt compensate everything...and last of all, you(ownersshould not offer a package if you cant manage it...after all, we are to suffer, not you...and that too, after paying a lump sum !!....very bad....

Geyser or free hot water should be provided.2. Food can be improved, specially snacks.If possible please try to provide locally produce organic chicken.

Absolutely secluded place away from daily hustle bustle. Must visit for nature lovers. Stay is very cozy and comfortable with all basic amenities in the room. But the outside bloom and greenery is what keeps one mesmerised. Food is always served hot, cooked with utmost hygiene and of course delicious. Mr. Sangay took care of our every need and always happy to help his guests. Met three pets over there,friendly and welcoming to the guests. Loved my stay 🥰

It was a nice stay inside this calm, serene nature surrounded property. You can hear the sound of nature and feel it. We have stayed there for three nights. Property owner and their staff were very helpful and cordial. They continiously stayed in touch with us from the very moment we started enquiring before booking upto the end of the trip. We went there with our three year old daughter and she enjoyed the open space like anything. Played a lot, strolled and made friendship with their pets. We walked through the jungle and met with several birds of that region. The food was tasty and we got the flavour of their local preparation. They also prepared food for our child separately what she eats habitually. Even on the day of departure they arranged for lunch before leaving there as we had our train in the evening. It was really a homely feel and their hospitality was awesome. They also arrange night safari, trekking etc. though we couldnt opt for these at this time. They arranged our pickup and drop and the drivers were also very friendly and helpful. We really spent some beautiful time during our journey having chat with them. Wish to come back here again.

This is an excellent place in the lap of nature. The host and other staff are excellent people. They give a homely feeling. Food is very tasty and always served hot. We stayed here for 3 days and these 3 days are excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Great for bird watching also..but there food packages are different from other hill areas home stay like Evening snacks and tea are chargeable. Should consider this.. Now what can I say about this place..! One of the best nature resort I have ever stayed with my family. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They made sure that the guests are comfortable and satisfied. .. Special mention goes out for Pankaj, Sangay, Manisha and Mani for making us feel homely. We thoroughly enjoyed their momos and other meals. This is the best place one can get to stay amidst the nature. Theres a beautiful fountain few minutes down the hill and a must watch. I highly recommend this place to all nature lovers. I still miss this place because of their hospitality. Thank you guys.

A quaint little place, providing an authentic experience of rural tourism. Serving the most authentic Nepali food, which one can enjoy watching the hills, amidst white fog and fresh air brushing past your face. Built with bamboo the living space is all about warmth and comfort in anytime of the year. Mr. Pankaj Pradhan the host is very helpful, courteous and reachable anytime of the day!

Ohh, such a lovely place and peacefull one. Loved it... after the Sandakphu it felt soo soo calm, had a very good rest and food. Hospitality was also good. I think they recently renovated but now its very nice.

A peaceful place for spending a couple days away from all the city tantrums.If u want a view if the Kanchenjunga u need to walk 2kms. The location of this lodge was so good that it felt too comforting ☺️☺️🤗

The place is very nice. It is in the lap of nature. The rooms are clean and cosy. Host is good and helpful. Many birds are there. If you are a bird watcher, you can get plenty of birds in that area. Nearest bird watching site is momokhola.

Singalila Jungle Lodge, a privately run homestay by Mr Avinash Rai & his family is the only accommodation option at this pristine calm and quite destination Palmajua. They have 5 Rooms in total, out of which 2 are double bedded cottages and 2 are deluxe rooms built above the dining area and 1 four bedded family cottage. Standard Cottages costs Rs. 1200/- each and Deluxe Rooms are for Rs. 1500/- each while the Four Bedded Cottage costs Rs. 1800/- (As of June 2019). For Fooding, they charge Rs. 600/- per person per day for all the meals. Avinash Ji’s brother Mr Jeevan Rai, a very nice and co-operating person, looks after all the guests.The rooms and washrooms are very clean. The property is very well maintained and beautifully decorated with colourful flowers in the garden amidst the cottages. It’s lush green everywhere your eye can wander. The food is really awesome and tasty. They can also arrange Barbeque & Bonfire. I have done Barbeque at a lot of places and Singalila Jungle Lodge at Palmajua is one such place where I loved it most amongst few others like at Rishyap, Shivakhola and Mousuni Island. With most of the homestays, the issue is they over-roast the chicken which results in a bitter taste. However, this was not the case here and the chicken was properly cooked and roasted!Regarding the destination, Palmajua, well, I’m short of adjectives here! Palmajua is still an offbeat destination, unknown to mainstream tourists, situated within Singalila National Park. Palmajua is a quaint, calm & quite destination where you can listen to your heartbeat other than hearing the chirping of birds. I would categorize Palmajua as a hidden gem and a secret paradise right within the lap of mother nature where you can rejuvenate yourself. It was simply a breathtaking experience at Palmajua.

Was looking for some offbeat place around darjeeling and found the place and when checked for place to stay this was the only option. Went through the reviews and got some negative reviews about the host and service. Still just thought of going for a gamble and went ahead with the booking. The host talked in a very serious tone over phone and the negative reviews went on playing in my mind. I drove my way to the place from Siliguri and was delayed. It became all dark on new roads. With just one call to the guy called Jeevan who takes care of the property the path became all smooth to reach the place. Had normal welcome and after dinner went off to sleep calling it a night. The next day Avinash came to meet and right from then things took a turn. He didnt let feel that it wasnt home. Did whatever we had requested for ofcourse with sources that was available. He made it feel just like home. Made us part of their own activity and made sure we enjoy to the extreme. For the evening Jeevan took the lead planned a beautiful entertaining event till late night. This guy Jeevan is a damn good entertainer. Avinash even took us for the night ride to the jungle and it was one of a lifetime experience. One small advice be good to them and they will get you the best. Now i am bound to say Miss you Dada.

The place is great for stay and the view of the village is beautiful. There is not much scope for activity. The host is professional bt service is not up to mark. The rooms looks beautiful bt the chimni inside the room is non-functional. In winter it is difficult in night to stay in that rooms. Service is bad and costly. Foods are good bt less verity in vegetables. Men at service are not efficient and quite rude in behaviour. Stayed there for 2days bt having bad experience for first time in hill only for the host. He is not so nice and gentle.

A very beautiful hamlet surrounding the homestay. We passed a couple of hours there and loved the serenity of the village as a part of our stay at Dhotrey.

Calm and peaceful place. Not much scope for activity, just relax on the lawn for a day. Friendly staff. Owner Avinash Rai is cooperative and lent us his hammock and speakers. Standard food available. This place does not have a direct view of Kanchenjunga. Rooms are spacious. No television. Good place to spend a day or two in silence.

Mr Avinash Rai is very caring and responsible person. Nice cozy property, fantastic location. Very good service. Always ready for assistance. Food quality is good , homely and quite sufficient. Fabulous view from the property. Fell in love with the place.

Clean rooms..nature near the hotel is great..it is a very peaceful place..if you want peace you should definitely go there..but here is a negative experience also;the service is not so good.staffs are good but service is very slow..

Palmajua is a nice place, a kind of valley within greenery at an altitude of about 6400 feet. Its not really a forest at this location but at one end of singalila, a small village upon the road to rimbick from dhotrey. Lot of opportunities for bird lovers and photographers. A place to relax amidst nature. Google map does not show a road to this place but there exists a motorable road through this place, as i said, from dhotrey to rimbick. Road is a bit damaged but small cars can easily run. Public transport is available onwards to rimbick in the first half of day and return to dhotrey in the second half. Only one vehicle runs in the return direction from rimbick to siliguri in the morning, which passes palmajua at around 6:30 am. Electricity is a bit futile here.
