Sinbad's Mediterranean Cafe in Nanaimo

I wanted to go until I read in the reviews they use very little filling in their Donaire

Good food, and service

My partner and I came in for a quick lunch yesterday. When we arrived the restaurant was just opening. The customer service was amazing and the food was great! We both got beef kabobs, and they were some of the best kabobs that I have ever had. We will definitely be making this a regular restaurant of ours.

Too bad they left. Nanaimo was not ready for true flavor.

Stopped in to this establishment for first time, food was made fresh and very tasty - great value !!

Was quite disappointed with the lack of filling in my donair. The taste was fine but the meat was microwaved, not grilled :- / Im still hungry!The place also was not very inviting, messy and empty..

Food was tasty. Not enough meat in the wrap. The premises were not well set up or have nice appearance. Looked as if the furniture was taken out of someones garage or basement.Not pleased with the quantity of food. The ambiance felt like a warehouse.

Nice little store/cafe .. has halal food !! Great taste and friendly owner .. takes about 15/20 minutes for the order to be ready

Arab imported food

Wouldnt know if from the outside but the food was so good and the fella working there was also incredibly welcoming

Food was small and over priced

Great Mediterranean food. The sandwiches and rolls they make are just wonderful, filling and the prices are really good and low!They have variety of lamb, beef, chicken, and sardines, just to mention a few of my favourites. They have many unique and special deserts and soft drinks!Not to mention great people and service as it is family business.Absolutely one of my favourites in Nanaimo!

I ordered the lamb shawarma wrap and asked for medium rare but got well done had the beef kebab wrap asked for it medium rare got it well done it tasted like it was precooked than just cooked again

Lamb shawarma is my fav.

We absolutely love the amazing food, its affordable and the gentleman who works there is so nice, it all keeps us coming back for more! They have a lovely grandfather clock that strikes on the hour, great little shop and good music :)

as a Canadian this food was so good.. if they had bigger portions i would gorge for days..

Very good shwarma wrap! Tasty tahini sauce on flavorful spiced lamb meat with fresh lettuce and tomatoe wrapped in a grill pressed soft and crispy pita. Clean restaurant. Friendly owner. Fair price.

Get the Donair and the tea drink with basil seeds

Tiny tiny portions. My donair rap had almost no filling. The meat tasted like it was cooked a few days ago.Edit: I could not finish the wrap it was unacceptable.

Always tasty !! Really enjoyed it - for the price though they could at least include a drink.. But other than that its really good!

Visiting from Seattle and found this little Halal cafe. Had the delicious doner. Owner very friendly. They also have a nice goodies market in the back.

Ordered donairs through skip the dishes, was the worst donair Ive ever had by far, need to find a good donair place in Nanaimo cause this is definetly not it.

I ordered delivery through SkipTheDishes and I was pretty disappointed when it came. The meat in the Shwarma was dry and tough, and it was pretty small for what I paid for it. When I paid $8 for meat and bread I assumed Id be getting a couple of pieces of bread but it came with one with a bit of ground meat thrown on top, another surprise as the site says it comes with cubed meat. The only thing I found worth it was the hummus for $5.50 and only because you get a good amount in a reusable container. Probably wont be coming back.

Good donairs. Fresh Iranian desserts and an assortment of imported canned goods and beverages.

Delicious shawarma wraps. Always sure to finish off with some baklava. I stop in maybe once a week when I can. This is a family run spot with very friendly service.

A very simple family run cafe with great fresh food and friendly service. I love the bright blue colours that remind me of coral seas.I highly recommend you try out this lil cafe, where one can happily support a great local, small business while enjoying flavourful food at a fair price.

I just visited this cafe and market for the first time tonight, and i was so overwhelmed by the hospitality of the owner that I felt compelled to write a review. The open sign called us in on a snowy night so we figured we would give it a try. The small cafe is bare bones but the food that is produced there is fresh and delicious. The owner suggested we sit and eat the food in, so we ordered a lamb shawarma and baklava each, both were incredible and very reasonably priced. The owner was gracious enough to give us a sample of his hummus, which was also fantastic. I will be frequenting this place for tasty meals and friendly service. I highly recommend giving it a try.
