Siumu Village, Samoa, Apia
This serene, adults-only villa resort overlooking Vaiala Beach is 4 km from Mount Vaea and 3 km from rugby at Apia Park. The down-to-earth villas have open-air showers and air-conditioning, as well as tea and coffeemaking facilities. Some quarters feature ocean views. Upgraded 1 and 2-bedroom villas include TVs and beach access. Wi-Fi is available for a fee. Room service is offered.Amenities include an open-air restaurant by the sea and a lagoon-style pool surrounded by gardens and palm trees. There’s also a golf course, a spa and Samoan fire dance performances. Snorkeling equipment, kayaks and canoes are free.
Just wow! The resort is fabulous, feels like Samoa but with creature comforts. Best sunsets, sunrises. Best people...guests and staff. Rooms are great...beach front if you want or garden view...the landscaping is traditional and gorgeous. Seafood anyone? Freshed squeezed coconut cream, fresh squeezed pineapple plus a little rum...a "sinacolada" or their mojito! are so minty and limey...It is an intimate resort where you feel special and relaxed. BEST EVER.
A review of the restaurant! Place had a lovely view and wish we stayed on this side of the island where the beaches are better. Ordered the sashimi, chicken and chips, strawberry cocktail was well as a coconut. Sashimi was good and the wasabi had a great kick to it, chicken was okay but the batter was nice and crispy.
Visiting Sinalei Reef Resort as a couple must make you feel being in paradise. The most friendly service made the stay (4 nichtsa dream. We all know that there are hotels in New York, Paris and Berlin with perfect service, but this is a pacific island. Locals are trained in the best way possible. Its hard for me and my partner to read reviews where an Aussie bloke laments over a not so perfect steak (stay home if you want steaks). Our 3 visits were all perfect. We stayed after in fales, Aggie Greys and in remote villages. People are the most friendly and helpful human beings in the pacific. If you expect aircon and perfect steaks, stay at Aggie Greys or stay home.
Beautiful place and setup but the food was terrible
Peaceful
Great staff and a great location. A tropical Paradise
This place is great! We loved staying at Sinalei especially because they saved our holidays when we fled from Coconuts. They gave us a BeachSideVilla which was so nice and very clean. The resort is quite big but you don‘t feel it as the houses are wide spread in beautiful greens. So easy to connect to the staff which gave us almost a private atmosphere. Perhaps that‘s why we had that beautiful arrangement on our last dinner. The only drawback is that although the service is very nice you shouldn’t expect western standards in terms of efficiency or pace.. you are on relaxing Samoa - deal with it! ;-)
The staff here needs to know that being nice is not a substitute for being uninformed or unhelpful:- First Day: the kitchen and cleaning staff openly blamed reception when I noted getting inconsistent info- Second Night: overnight security was incredibly unhelpful when I had an emergency, basically admitting they have no point-of-contact or process to address ANY issue (ranging from a check-out to the room flooding to even a robberybecause the front office is closed until 7am.- Third Night: my roommate and I were robbed and the staff still insisted on closing the front office at 10:30pm because the GM is "busy" (yet she was around minutes earlier to give us a spare keyand without speaking to the cleaner who robbed us or calling the police. The guest experience has to be about much more than a nice view.
Top range in Resorts
Just got back from 7 nights at Sinalei resort, where my girlfriend and I had a garden view villa and it was pretty much perfect. Samoans are the kindest people I have ever met, and it showed in the resort’s employees, they were so helpful and ready to serve. The property was absolutely beautiful, from the rooms to the pool to the beach and dock, we barely had to leave the entire week. (Spent one day exploring the island with a rental we were able to get at the resort.)The food was great, everything we ordered off the dinner menu was delicious, the breakfast buffet wasn’t what we were use to coming from the USA but it certainly wasn’t anything to complain about. The small beach cove were the resort is located also has some great places to eat just steps away. The villa was perfect for us, we aren’t ones to spend too much time inside so it was just what we needed, the bed was comfy, the pillows were nice and they had a/c. The only complaint I would have for the entire stay is they need new bath towels. They were clean, but far from soft.I spent 5 days surfing as well which was included in our package and I scored amazing waves, with empty line ups. If you want to go on a surf trip with your chick this is the place, loved there was no kids, but at 28 we were for the most part the youngest couple there by 20 years.Already looking to come back, I don’t know why you would stay anywhere else on the south coast of Samoa.
We did enjoy Sinalei resort as our Samoan destination. The staff couldnt be more helpful and pleasant. Restaurants are attractively laid out with a delicious menu, and cater well for individual requirements .The property is most attractive, beautiful gardens and a well tended golf course. Pool and spa facilities are in peaceful and tranquil surroundings. The views of the ocean are breath taking. Snorkelling, swimming, paddle boarding are easily accessed. Local traditional experiences are shared and are entertaining and eductional. Their own Sinalei string band is brilliant!.... Rowena
Nice views staff were also nice, a bit pricey for what you get, but still enjoyed our stay
We had a cleaner steal money from our room! once I contacted reception the cleaner returned with the money. It was a adults only resort it there was children in the pool. The gym was removed and the spa was broken. The food was extremely over priced & poor.
Lovely and spacious Beautiful surroundings Lots of white sand Great food and staff were really attentive Lovely place to swim, kayak and snorkel
Clean and beautiful resort.
An excellent place to get away and recharge.
Beautiful location, fabulous facilities and the warmest, loveliest staff make your stay so special.
If you want to relax, recharge this is the place to go to.
Friendly and Intimate. Great food
Beautiful resort. Amazing breakfasts and great people
Dont rent cars there. I payed 80 tala for the afterhour pick up from the airport. So they had one job to pick up the car when we arrive there at 4am. But nobody was there. The problem is that they still have my driving license as a bond. So now I just left Samoa without receiving my bond back and a email from them witch says sorry we thought u mean 4pm. Again I paid for the afterhour pick up. So thanks for nothing
Talofa, spent a wonderful 6 nights at this fantastic resort. What an awesome experience. Fabulous grounds kept immaculate, with an impressive pool for relaxing on those hot days. Stayed in an Ocean View Villa which had all the facilities required for a relaxed stay with a very comfortable bed. The staff were fantastic - very friendly, and caring and always happy. My husband loved joshing with them. They do a splendid job. The food was lovely; a set menu for dinner, but with three choices for each course it catered for most tastes. Loved those steaks - all beautifully cooked. We enjoyed some lovely spa treatments pampered by the ladies at The Tui Lagi Spa right on the beach front listening to the waves.Having stayed in a number of resorts in the South Pacific this would have to be the best and we will be coming back as soon as we are able to.agalelei alofaSue
The Sinalei reef Resort was like being in paradise. The pool was beautiful, the gardens and surroundings were spectacular. Right next to a beach just topped it all.
If your getting married then Galen is an amazing wedding planner. Sinelai Resort is my favorite. I have been there many times and I will definitely be going back.Charmaine New Zealand.
Beautiful place with tidy rooms, outdoor showers and great facilities for fun in and out of the water.
Spent Christmas and New Year at Sinalei Resort. Lovely people. Very relaxing
Beautiful spot, excellent service that goes beyond normal accommodation. A true gem in Samoa
Beautiful relaxed atmosphere, warm ocean, good food, friendly locals
Had a very nice stay for 5 nights. Staff are friendly but have that island slow motion thing; but that is everywhere. They responded consistently to polite requests asked with a smile. Tina is a great tour guide whether on transport from airport or on the recommended eastern island tour. I received a nice room upgrade even though the place was fairly full.Check your receipts carefully when you sign for meals and drinks. 3 separate incidents of being double billed for something. All quickly corrected when pointed out but makes one wonder. And bring toiletries. None supplied in room which seems incongruous with the quality of the resort and price. Make sure you jump off the end of the pier into the hole venting water out an old lava tube. Good fun!
Very unhappy, the food was bad, had a steak for dinner,it was cold, and tough as old boots, got a rental car from the resort, got to Apia and got stopped by police, told no wof and no registration, that was the end of our out. Day we checked out told we had to pay for the shuttle, then told we had to pay $700 a night for 4 nights as they thought there was 3 person in the unit(helloare they crazy. What a nightmare of a holiday.
Great place to relax.... lovely staff. Will return again loved it.
Poppa says la le lay
Great relaxing place
So havent actually stayed here just went there for lunch but the food and service was excellent!!! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed and the scenery is beautiful. Each room has ample privacy and the services provided seems top-notch. Probably tell best part about it for a relaxing get away is that they dont have children there meaning it is very peaceful. Only reason for 4 star is cause I didnt actually stay there but 10/10 want to.
We decided to visit Samoa for the first time at the beginning of this month ( May 2018), after seeing Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa advertised on Australian TV. It looked & sounded like an idyllic island paradise. Advertised as an adults only Luxury Resort (no kids under 12).It didnt live up to this promise with several children under 12 staying during our first few days. Resort management needs to be on top of this for adults only status. This isolated boutique resort on the opposite side of the island to Apia Town has stunning, traditional buildings & fares surrounded by lush colourful foliage throughout the enchanting grounds. A quaint spa is located on the reef front, where you can hear the water lapping below, whilst being pampered "island" style. There is a shallow beach for swimming with unpredictable currents deeper out. There is a relaxing grotto style pool with tray service.Staff were extremely friendly, welcoming & accomodating throughout our stay. This trait constantly lures us back to Pacific Island countries for our holidays, to unwind from our busy lives. There are 2 Restaurants & 2 Bars & nightly entertainment by talented house singers who double as bar & wait staff during the day. Loved them !Sadly, there is Only 1 restaurant & 1 bar open at a time. Minimising your choices greatly, in this isolated location. Needs a relaxed, low key option in the other restaurant in evenings for guests wanting a quick, quiet meal.We loved Fia Fia (Fire dancingnight & the food was good !If you are looking for 4 star luxury by western standards this may not be the place for you.Our Beachside room (actually reef frontopposite end of resort to swimming beach, was clean & comfortable enough & certainly spacious, with a large private deck, pool lounges etc but it wasnt luxury. The fridge froze our drinks on all settings, the safe was broken & needed coaxing to lock with a key throughout our stay & NO in room TV.The only TV is in the common room near the beach. Soft Furnishings were old & tired & lounges cheaply upholstered. The Bed was soft & comfy with quality linen. Bathroom privacy was limited due to the construction style.Weather was warm & rained a lot, we swam most days.We arrived in heavy rain & were unacceptably taken to our room at far end of resort "without" umbrellas ! Yes, we were soaked through. Many of the furnishings are old & worn in the resort.Loads of mosquitoes & we didnt see coils etc in reception or common areas. Bring strong repellent ! I had many bites. Mozzie wipes supplied in room.Sinalei could be an awesome holiday destination to relax & unwind if they "greatly improve" their Food quality, choices, presentation & service. Breakfast table needs overseeing by experienced food staff to ensure hygiene levels are maintained throughout service. This was concerning!Several nights we had to send raw or over cooked meals back & werent inspired to order another meal or we chose a very basic item hoping it would be satisfactory ie: fries etc.Drink bottled water to avoid stomach upsets. For our travel dollar, Good food is a major part of the experience & is an expectation, especially, in a 4 star rated hotel.Advisable to take snacks, nuts, biscuits etc with you as nowhere to buy them locally & not available in resort.Robert Louis Stevenson museum/house was a good place to visit near Apia town.Taking cash in Tala is a good idea as resort charges credit card fees. There are ATMs at new Faleolo airport & in Apia town which are both approx 40 minute drive from Sinalei on opposite side of island.
The staff are amazing!
The staff here are amazing. Food was good but a little more variety could be nice
One of the best surf/resort setups in the Pacific. Jess the manager is super friendly, very genuine, and a great guy to have in the water. I’m also grateful that he snapped this shot of me during none of the many glassy sessions I had while in the area
Sinalei is an extremely peaceful and beautiful place. The staff are wonderful and always wanting to make your stay the best it can be. I would recommend Sinalei to any couple wanting a perfect holiday!!
Sinalei is one of the best hotels on Upolu island. It is a perfect place to escape from the daily routine. All villas are located spaciously from each other with a front deck and amongst tropical trees. Beautiful white sand beach and clear sea make the resort the great place for snorkeling, kayaking, and SUP boarding. Fantastic food and a great variety of drinks.
Magical Tropical Island Spa, great accommodation, great food, fantastic staff
What a wonderful place. Everything was fantastic from the food to the resort grounds and the lovely staff.
Ok lunch. Nothing special. Nice staff though.
FIRE Dance and buffet review: both fantastic. Good value and highly entertaining. Buffet includes traditional Samoan foods (whole pig bbq, palusami, oka, etc). Fiafia was fantastic. Best I have seen.
great resort. is adults only, but fairly expensive..
Stayed at a resort nearby but came to restaurant often was yummy good value and had some non resort type food which we loved as a change! Chicken and chips! Plus a great range of cocktails to try. Staff very friendly
Took a fishing boat (Fishing the Dream!from here - beautiful location and decor - would consider as a place to stay on future trips!
Fantastic location and amazingly friendly staff. There is a beautiful white sand beach in front of the resort and you have free access to snorkels and kayaks. Nice relaxing pool too.The villas are very comfortable and have everything you need. The beds are especially comfortable. It would be nice if they felt more "island/tropical" though - more Samoan decoration and even more of a fale style build. The Fia Fia night and cultural day are great, as well as the BBQ night and the tours they offer. The only thing that lets Sinalei down is the food. The selection is not huge if you are staying for a week, and a lot of it is quite bland, fried, and overcooked. If you are gluten free you will struggle. It would be great to see a lot more fresh seafood and healthier options on the menu. What they have is definitely edible though.I would definitely stay here again.
Sinalei resort is nice. The staff are very attentive and friendly.
Most relaxing location Ive been to. The staff make the experience even more enjoyable.
