Simpson's in the Strand in Beaufort

I was here in 1968 with my parents. I was 14 years old. My mothers dream was to have dinner here, she was in heaven. I will never forget the experience. We were from a small town outside of Seattle, Washington. If we did nothing else on our trip, we were going to have dinner here. I think it was the most dressed up I had ever been. A wonderful memory.

We went there for lunch and high expectations as usual, yet kinda disappointed with the steak and tartare. Salmon was fine though.Dinner is more preferable.

If you wanna try a traditional high quality restaurant in London, this is the place. The wellington beef and the pudding dessert are delicious.

We truly enjoyed our time here. From the live music the table side service, we relaxed and let the atmosphere of their grand dining room set the mood. We enjoyed lovster Thermador as well and the table side roast. Only downside they ran out of the dessert we wanted to order.

First visit was exceptional, we had one waitress who was amazingly friendly and professional, we didn’t seem rushed and had an excellent time. So we booked to come again a year later.What a change. We had so many different waiters we lost count. At one point we were asked to order 3 times by 3 different waiters. We were told to hurry as ‘the restaurant is getting busy so we should order now as it may take too long for our food to arrive’ I could expect that sort of spiel in a local £20 per meal restaurant but not when you’re paying £200. The waiters just seemed to casual to command this sort of price. We went for the great service and left with a sour taste. Its a shame as the first time was so memorable. I hope they retrain some of their staff.

As usual the service was impeccable. Our dinner was superb and the wine was first rate. All the team can answer any questions that are asked and are very well informed. My one and only criticism was that the roast potatoes were dry and really not that crispy or fluffy inside. Other than that it was excellent!

Such a rare combination of tradition, ambiance, service and wonderful food.I went (for my birthdayfor Sunday lunch. My guests and I had the roast carved at our table.The portions were generous but not too much. The meat (gammonwas succulent and cooked to perfection. The vegetables were delicious (even the cabbage which I havent eaten since school). At the end of the meal I was given complementary birthday ice cream. A nice touch. Coffee and (complimentarypetit fours followed.All in all a five star experience. Oh and the piano vocalist, brilliant.

Had an excellent dinner here with some great meat. The staff come to your table to carve your meat. The ambience reflects a older time.

If you cant get rezzies in the restaurant, pop upstairs to the bar where you can relax over stellar cocktails (best Bees Knees Ive ever hadand elevated bar snacks. Elegant, yet cozy, its perfect for drinks pre/post-show or just for fun.

Enjoyed my time at the Simpsons. Service was great and I appreciate the place keeping up with the tradition. I ordered the roast beef on the cart and it was delicious. My partner ordered the sole and we shared the Christmas themed desserts.

What a place! The hustle and the bustle of The Strand is left behind as you step inside to a time you thought had long gone.Helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, gentle music, grand staircases, even a chess game available upstairs in the bar which I urge you to go to before going to dinner.I had to have the Roasted Ham which is still carved from a silver domed trolley.

We absolutely love Simpsons. My partner and I got engaged here. The service is next to none.We celebrate most of our special occasions here and it is always excellent.The food is very tasty and I havent had beef as good anywhere else.My partner participated in the beef carving course and Simpsons make the event very special.If you are looking for something thats a bit extra in London, this is definitely it.

Known for the roast beef. A beautiful high end restaurant. The restaurant is located in the Savoy hotel one of the most beautiful and historical hotels in London.

If you want to experience traditional British dining this is a great place to visit. On my last visit had traditional fish and chips. My Canadian friend had steak and ale pie.

The Best Gin & Tonic Ive ever had! Old Tom gin with Franklin tonic, sprig of rosemary and citrus peel, just perfect! Delicious prime rib with fresh horseradish. Excellent sevice.

Nice Restaurant ambience. The style is very class. Kind Sommelier. Carving Beef was not so good because its dry. Lobster is fresh but the sauce is too overwhelming. Half lobster, Rib carving and Sweet wine then I paid 166.00 Pounds. 너무 비싸요

Surprisingly tasty food, which unfortunately my pictures don’t do justice. Haven’t been in years, but the mix of classic staples such as the beef trolleys together with more modern comfort food really works.Must give a mention to our lovely waiters who made it a truly special occasion!

Simpson’s in the Strand is an institution that has been going for a long time. If you want traditional British food this is the place to go. Ate at Simpson’s twice within a few weeks. First time was dinner which was faultless with some great English wines. Second time was a lunch which was marred by some undercooked chicken but the staff bent over backwards to make amends. Would go back.

Iconic London restaurant. First class silver service restaurant presenting classic English fare. Food quality and presentation was a very high standard. Wait staff were proffesional and attentive. Wanted to dine at Simpsons in the Stand for years, very glad I did. Great experience

Simpsons has earned its stellar reputation after years of perfect service and incredible food.Housed by the iconic high end Savoy hotel on the Strand, right in the heart of London.Their Sunday roast has a world class reputation and for good reason. The huge racks of roast rib are wheeled to your table and carved right in front of you. You choose whatever you want, well done to rare, they will give you a good plate of meat and an array of side dishes.They organised flowers and allowed us to bring a celebration cake.Excellent food and service does come at a price so be prepared.An opulent authentic English dining experience.

We recently visited for a festive celebration. I absolutely loved the food and the service. Our waitress was very informative and always alerted us to meat/ alcohol which she thought we may not want due to religious reasons. Great attention to detail throughout. Would return here and definitely recommend.

Had a wonderful evening on 5th December with two friends. Excellent food, very friendly and professional staff. We all had starters; I had the devilled eggs, which were very nice. Two of us had roast beef from the trolley. Without exaggeration probably the best roast beef that I have ever had. Fantastic quality beef, perfectly served medium rare (you can have it more cooked, if you want). Excellent gravy and Yorkshire pudding and potatoes. The third member of the party had another version of beef, with which she was very happy. We had a most enjoyable evening.

Had a Christmas meal a la carte with my work colleagues and its the best Christmas dinner we have had in the 17+ years of Christmas dinners!Good service and very good food. For me only let down a little by dessert, but that was mainly down to my choice.Formal sophisticated dining with personable staff and good food, just what you want!

Fabulous! Visited here last week with my boyfriend for our anniversary as he seen it featured on a programme he watched a while back. So glad he chose here. It was the best roast dinner Ive ever had. Brought out to you on a trolley and cut infront of you. Someone plays the piano and sings quietly in the corner which just adds to the charm of the place. Service is amazing, the atmosphere lovely and the building itself is beautiful.

Fantastic for food and drinks. Came here for my 1st anniversary and my wife and I loved it. Food is definitely worth trying. Would recommend this place to everyone.

I started off my evening in the bar upstairs where I had some excellent drinks served by incredibly knowledagble bartenders! We then proceeded to the incredible main dining area which has been recently refurbished. I had a delicious roast beef which was a perfect medium rare. I finished my meal with a lovely sticky toffee pudding. The reason its 4 stars instead of 5 was the speed of service at the end of the evening. We were almost forgotten about as the main wait staff had finished their shift. All in all great place and great food!

I went for the sirloin steak with triple cook chips. Amazing stuff, everything was delicious and the staff was very lovely. Live piano music made a great atmosphere.

Roy was absolutely fantastic and made our experience wonderful. As Americans, we are generally used to better service than what youll find in London due to it being a viable career in the US where the best can do very very well. In London, it seemed, there were no career servers but Roy would have fit in the best fine dining establishments. A true professional at his craft. Food was good but Id come back for the service!

A unique, original, elegant and beautiful venue and restaurant with its original decor and settings. You must order something from the trolley, which is an original and a 150 years old. British fine dining at its best. Extravagant interior and high quality service albeit a little slow when youve finished your meal. Meat carving plate is an essential choice for your main.

Fantastic Experience. Food amazing, service very friendly and do anything they can for you. I visited on Fathers Day so a busy time for servers too. Price absolutely worth it for the whole experience.

The best roast beef ever!!Service was superb, staff were very friendly and attentive. And the food was amazing!! I had the the scallops to start with - wonderful flavour. Our friends had the potted shrimp and they were equally happy! Three of us had the roast beef and, oh my goodness, it was cooked to perfection, the meat was so soft and succulent and our friends pork chop was also amazing in flavour. Portions were quite large and very satisfying. We will all be returning for another evening very soon!!!

Went there to see Sleight of Hand on the Strand (highly recommended). Very elegant, very gentle staff. Enjoyed a cocktail before the show on the first floor.

Service and atmosphere are great.skip the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Meat is sliced deli thin and pudding is dry and chewy. Beef tartar and sticky toffee pudding are excellent.

The recently refurbed Simpsons doesn’t disappoint. The beef and Lampe cavern are spectacular. Chilled live piano sets the tone along with a spectacular lofty room and on point service.

Simpsons-in-the-Strand has a great atmosphere and tasty food. Best roast beef! As a local photography company, we can say that this place is great and our clients also liked it. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and was able to experience generally good service. The three course meal left us so full and satisfied. Will highly recommend the crab cake with soft boiled egg, and tender and juicy lamb. One interesting thing is that there are many people celebrating their birthdays here and this means youll have the listen to the birthday song over the speakers multi times an evening. It might not be ideal if youre looking for a romantic night out.
