Wide beach with lots of activities including volleyball, with an event pavilion & pier access.
It is beautiful beach park by the lake michigan. The pristine clean beach, and high wind and wave, make the beach lover thirilled. The fine grian sands make the beach an amazing place to have fun time. I liked beach so much, is higly recommended for anyboy want to nice beach family time. It has a kids playground. The pier you will love to walk by,
Despite the temperatures this location is great to visit even in the cold if winter. Watching the splashing waters and seagulls is a great way to pass the time. Even if it just 15-30 minutes. Great pictures to be had, although any I take will fall short of the splendor.
Beautiful place to catch spectacular sunsets! Great beach also!
I call it the Hawaii of the midwest. I was born here in 1960. In the 60s Silver Beach was polluted, eroded, foam in the water, dead fish, couldnt see 2 inches deep. Now the whole area has football field sized beaches, almost white powdery sand on the entire beach, 10 feet down green blue water, fine sand under water under your feet as far as you can stand. Clean, concessions, plenty of rinse areas, fixed restrooms, play areas. A fresh water ocean...no sharks or jelly fish. An AMAZING experience. Yesterday in late September the air temperature was over 80 and the water temperature 70. Yes...I swam above and under the water ( with eyes open and loved every second of it. In the summer, I call it the pretty people beach, and it gets crowded with tourists. I simply go to the north side of the river to Tiscornia or Jean Klock as I do not have my girlish figure at 62 years old.
Very well kept park beautiful sunset.. playground great for kids .. nice clean beach restroom were there
Clean, spacious beach with no rocks to clamber over. Beautiful area and park.
It’s a nice park, we used to have my oldest child’s birthday here every year. It got pretty crowded and there’s a lot of rowdiness now. We’ve found other parks near by.
Very clean beach, waves were too high to get into the water fully, but it was a lovely day.
Absolutely love this beach.. I love the water pad and and the famous Merry-go- round. Perfect place to take children. Perfect place to take children. Only downside is that the public restroom for the beach was very smelly and the entire floor was always wet everywhere in the bathroom. Do not enter without shoes.
Beautiful sandy beach area that is very well thought out. Spots to sit and eat off the sand, plenty of garbage cans available, chair rentals, large bathroomschanging rooms, and very clean. This park takes things seriously, you can tell they care about the park experience. One of my new favorite places!
Beautiful views. Amazing splash pad. Easy parking and wonderful beach on Lake Michigan. Great little shops, cute downtown, great coffee and chocolates! We will be back to spend some time here next summer.
This was my mine and my husbands first time here and well definitely be going back. We ate at Silver Beach Pizza and it was some of the best pizza weve ever had. We took our chairs and sat close to the tide coming in and I walked along the beach collecting rocks, which I found some pretty cool ones.
Very nice! Charge $15. Lots of playground for children and water play area.
Nice beach costs 15$ to get in playground snack shop chair rentals lifeguard and peir the water is REALLY COLD!!!
Really nice spot for kids. Water was cold but shallow all the way to the buoys. Parking was $15 at the park but free up the stairs in town, so its easy to take a short walk and stay cheap. The kids museum and spray ground were also really fun for the kids. Dogs are allowed on the pavement but not on the sand or water.
Beautiful beach, nice sand, food, nice bathrooms for a beach. The only negative is the price. Its 15,00 no matter how long you stay. I just wanted to take sunset pictures for an half hour. I parked down the street instead. I wouldnt have minded that price too much if I was spending most of the day there.
Love the beach it is great place to spend the day with the family. Changing rooms could be a little cleaner but there are a lot of people so Im sure it is a lot of work. Either way come to the beach and enjoy the water.
We went during the week and it was more crowded than I had expected. However, the beach is very long so picking a spot wasnt a problem. The pier is cool to walk on and we did try to fish off of it. It was very windy that day, so we caught nothing- lol! My only issue was having to pay $15.00 to park, regardless of how long youre planning to be there. If youre there all day, its a great value. If youre only there 4ish hours, not so much... Still, its beautiful and I enjoyed it.
Perfect as always. The town is great. Wonderful shops and food throughout. Pizza by the splash pad is a must and fishing the inlet never disappoints. The beach is always busy but with plenty of parking and room for others. Has good hills to ride and skate while being mindful of others. No signs posted at all and the boardwalk has plenty of room for everyone walking or riding. They have a beach house with ice cream and all the beach needs. The atmosphere is always great. Highly recommend this place.
Excellent beach/park located right next to downtown St. Joseph. Silver Beach Pizza is conveniently located next door so you can order a couple pies and take them on the beach. Large public restrooms available as well as tables and a small concessions area. Great for a beach day.
Great place for a family day- trip if you live within a couple hours drive or for a few nights if youd prefer an air b&b experience. They have bathrooms (they are small stalls, not very handicap friendly though they do have one handicap stall), rinse off station, playground, splash pad, carousel, refreshment center, and a little pizza shop near the beach, itself. The cost for county residents into the beach parking lot is $8 and $15 non Berrien County residents as of July 2022. There is a lot to do just up the giant stairs over the hill...lots of shops and restaurants, and sometimes they have art fairs/flea markets and farmers markets in the summer months. We enjoy going!
Ive been going to Silver for 10 years. This is the most action packed place to bring the kids! Whirlpool sponsored splash pad with BIG water guns every 15 mins, beach time at the Lake, playground on the beach 200 yards from shoreline, ride on indoor horse carousel about 500 yards from beach (mostly Fri, sat, sun, hours vary), and visit concessions or Silver Beach Pizza for mid-day lunch or snack. We set up camp on the beach and run around doing different activities. My tips: there is no shade, be prepared. All parking costs money or youll just drive around aimlessly looking for open spots on residential streets (I buy the Silver Beach parking pass and highly recommend if youll visit more than 2 times a year - pays for itself). If you go to Silver Beach Pizza on weekends, make a reservation or check-in early (long waits 2+ hoursand you need shoes and cover-ups for girls suits, boys are fine with beach shirt/shorts. Running water restrooms are available at beach with rinse off areas. Have fun, bring minnow fishing nets and challenge the family to catch a minnow for a group reward of ice cream at the concessions!! Bring boogie boards, and tons of sand toys!! This whole area lacks shade, sun protection is really important.
This is one of my families favorite beaches. No rocks at the beach and a larfe bathhouse. The beach is also close to town so you can walk right in and eat or shop.
My granddaughter loved it!!! It is a very nice beach ⛱️!
Thin crust pizza LOADED with cheese. It is even a little crispy close to the edge - our favorite! We generally get the margarita pizza but sprung for pepperoni today - fantastic. A schooner of Summer Shandy after 4 hours on the beach was a perfect way to help wash down lunch. Kids love it, every time!
I liked the atmosphere here . Waters rather clear beach itself was rather clean when we were there just all in all a nice visit I do recommend 😊
Highly recommend this beach if youre in the area. Theres a parking fee but its worth the price. Theres an area for grilling near tables. RVs are welcome. Not a lot of shade so bring gazebos. You can walk to the pier as well.
Always a great place to visit. It’s usually very busy, but downtown St Joe is a great place to be
Nice beach but a little expensive considering the bathrooms were gross and the outdoor showers were broken. Otherwise it’s a pretty beach and perfect for swimming
It was a great time. The atmosphere was wonderful. There was swings, water, sand, a playground, and a restaurant to eat at. So many things to do for kids and adults. 10/10 ratings for a fun time for kids. Theres bikes, a splash pad, a playground, swings, carousel, a place for kids called the kids fun zone, and much more. Definitely going back. I also 100% recommend it for any adventures adults or adults who just want to chill. The next time you consider a small get away and not pay a ton of money think about going here.
What can you say about a beautiful natural resource? Its gorgeous, clean, well maintained, with breathtaking views. Bathroom easily available and they were clean. Many receptacles for trash to keep the beach clean. Close to town so that, if you dont want to eat at the places available at the beach, there are many other available places to eat. Loads of parking. Well monitored. Saw police patrolling quietly . People playing in different areas available for games. Drinking fountains and foot washing fountains available. Area around the beach is beautiful and clean.
One of the best lake Michigan beaches. Fun for the whole family. The beach area is pretty big and well maintained. Few lifeguard posts with couple lifeguards at each. There are few beach volleyball fields, kids playground area and splashing fountains. Paid parking lot 15$ non residents
A great beach with a lot to offer. However, when we went they had shut down parking which made it really hard to find a spot. Also, just a few restaurants in the area unless youre willing to drive, so probably best to bring your own food. All that being said, its a great beach with lots of space, a great playground and a great splash pad for kids.
Beautiful, clean, relaxing, and so fun! Fun for everyone. Sand is so soft. Dunes are astonishing. We will be back. I lay thing that could have made it better is if water was available to get the sand off of you. There were huge sprinklers about a block down that worked.
Lovely beach for a simple hang out to chill and spend time with family and friends. Sand is clean and soft. There is a playground, and some swings. Decent eateries within walking distance of 10 minutes. Head over earlier for a warmer experience - it gets chilly as the sun goes down.
Beautiful park that fronts Lake Michigan with stunning view of lighthouses and piers. Playground for kids. Beach volleyball courts, concession stand, bathrooms, paved trail connecting to Howard family Trail. Paid parking is limited in season. Beautiful sunsets and walking distance to many other local attractions. No dogs in beach but allowed in paved trail.
Always relaxing when taking a stroll on the pier at Silver Beach. Any season is a stop and walk treat. Beautiful views which will include stunning sunsets most every evening year round.
I had to get out and take pictures. The view and the sound of the water was relaxing. People were enjoying themselves even though it was a bit chilly. My husband and I will definitely be coming back here. And yes the bike rider rode that wheely the whole time.
An exceptional Beach with a view of the heavens that only God himself could have painted. People were literally running to fetch their cameras and take the pictures.
Mesmerizing beautiful clear water clean beach...Ive witnessed the most beautiful sunset from the gazebo on the top hill...cant wait to go again.
Relaxing & beautiful place to spend time with family, friends or by yourself. Restrooms are near, parking is close by and you can grab some really good pizza. Benches are all over to have a seat & enjoy the view.
Packed up Mickie and cruised to Michigan. The park is a little hard to find, there arent very many signs to follow, so make sure you use your Maps app! We stayed in Niles Michigan because it was only 20 miles away and much cheaper! This beach is only a two hour drive away from Kokomo, let me say its well worth the drive. Beautiful sand and the water crystal blue with gentle waves. Do not bring your furbaby here, they are only welcome on the sidewalks and the sand gets to hot for them anyway. Pack up, get out of town, perfect mini vacation will definitely return!
You will not be disappointed with this beach. Very clean and very well kept Beach and very clean and clear water. Lots of things to do here for the whole family
Great sandy beach. Wonderful for families with kids! Not deep! Warm water. Parking limited, get there early.
This was a really nice beach and was clean. There was a clean bathroom. If you want to park close it costs $15 if youre not from the area. You can park elsewhere and walk but I suggest paying. It would be hard to carry a cooler over the stairs if you choose to walk. I had a nice relaxing day on the beach. Dont forget your sunblock!!
One of my favorite beaches on lake Michigan. More urban and thus has access to lots of extras like kayak rentals, food, playgrounds splash pads, lifeguards. But on a good day it crowded. Beautiful view though with the light houses. The city has developed it nicely. I recommend it highly.
This wonderful beach is amazing. The water is clear and relatively warm. The sand is clean. Its perfect for all ages, especially children. The scenery is great as well. Parking is quite close to the beach. There are also concessions, a playground and easy access restrooms.
I completely love this place. Has everything a beach should have. Huge playground area for kids, changing rooms/bathrooms, concession stand and lifeguard stations.Even when its busy there is plenty of beach to have your own little space. To me its a beautiful beach and very relaxing place
Super popular, nice beach area. Beautiful and fun! This is a spot worth visiting several times a year. The first time I went was Easter weekend (see picsthen again Fourth of July weekend.
Great family beach with nice amenities. We are visiting the area & just wanted to walk around to see the place, but it costs $15 just to park! 😳 So we parked up on the bluff & walked down, which was nice because you can see the cool splash pad from above. The park is well maintained, quite beautiful!
