Sik Yuen Supermarket in Curepipe

I was together with my sister who has twins toddlers and are both deaf and ongoing treatment for the same.We just came from our usual appointment for speech therapy in curepipe and both of them slept in our respective arms. We had to grap 1 pack of yogurt emergency for the children. There were long queues at every check outs even the less than 10 articles. However, my sister saw 1 checkout with 1 last person doing her payment. As she queued the cashier rudely told her to queue elsewhere as she is about to close her account.My sister went to queue elsewhere with a child who just finished treatment asleep in her arm for 1 pack of yogurt. I was speechless. I went to talk to the lady with the other child asleep in my arms plus a bag. She was very rude. I asked her for her name which she refused to give of course.If it was not necessary, i would have just left the yogurt there and go back home. I wouldnt mind queuing up if i was alone. It was a special case which my sister asked the cashier to do a favor. Its not easy to handle 2 children with disabilities. If they would have woke up and nothing to eat on our way back home, the situation would have been chaotic. Conversely, your staff doesnt even bother to understand the whole situation despite having told her.The worse is there is no manager to even see this is wrong. No employees at sik yuen stood up.I was baffled by the attitude of sik yuens employee when i know how Mr sik yuen does donation and give back to the society. Its sad that his own enterprise is failing to promote his philosophy.

getting worse and worse... attitude of checkout staff..no greeting . customer has to greet them to get a response..from putting things on belt to paying not a single word..it s as if they earn their pay by other means instead of just properly doing their job and a minimum of respect of the customer .

Supermarket with a wide variety of items. Widest variety in Curepipe. The only problem on rainy days you have to park and walk in the rain unlike other supermarkets in curepipe and Floreal

The biggest supermarket in the heart of Curepipe. Very convenient. Parking spaces are also available. Many products are also available there.

I find always everything i need...its a bit crowded but thats fine

A huge variety of products offered at Sik Yuen Supermarket, more than we can find in many other shops. Unfortunately, the access to this place is not attractive, the entrance looks terrible, the flow inside the shop is awful, it badly needs to be redesigned professionally, a huge revamping is absolutely essential, and the would then attract more customers.

Nice place for shopping. Some of the goods sold there are quite unique and rare. There are lots of parking space across the street. It do get crowded something in the evening.

The parking was a nightmare. Besides not finding many good deals inside, please buy a "Pâté Poulet" near exit door (lottery counterto cheer you up. They cost Rs 25, are warm and very delicious.

If u cant get somethi g in Winners / Jumbo or Intermart, you will get it for sure at Sik Yuen. Its amazing how you come across new things there. Wonderful.

The staff is polite and there is variety of goods, the goods are replaced constantly. The minus point is that there is not appropriate toilet for clients. I believe that this type of place, full of ambition and good tradition should have appropriate WC for its valued customers

Sik Yuen supermarket is well organised in all safety measures. Social distance , sanitising and marking for taking products is great.

Its my regular store.The frozen section is great, the layout good easy to spot stuff you need. The regular availability of cardboard boxes save the environment and prevents us from using plastics

Prices are on the high end.Unmonitored parking available.To get out of the parking is problematic during peak hours.

They got a myriad of stuffs over there, their prices for alcoholic drinks are good! They got a heck ton of different wine and tea! Definitely recommend if you got to buy your groceries!!

Atmosphere: Nice place for grocery shopping. Can be very crowded during end of month as many people do their shopping.Service: carton boxes available to carry groceries. Offers a vast choice of produce. What I like about this place is that it has not lost its identity to supermarket chains where you find the same standard products. Quite spacious also. Staff very helpful.One suggestion however: its becoming increasingly difficult to exit the main parking opposite the supermarket due to heavy traffic flow on the road. People who have to take a right turn take a lot of time to exit , thus creating a mini jam in the parking area. Maybe they could enlarge the exit, creating two lanes- one for right turn and one for left turn.

Has good variety of products. Grilled chicken was old and too long in the grill. Customer can’t check because packed in a paper bag and sealed.

Well equipped supermarket offering mainly foodstuff. Prices are very competitive specially with various promotions. Quality is up to level and staff is helpful. Worth the visit definitely.

Nice supermarket with some unusual products.

Its a good supermarket if you need to do your shopping. Its situated in the centre of Curepipe and easily accessible. The only problem is that there is lot of traffic and the road is quite narrow.

going there is like going to the curepipe bazar, very busy and un organized. the fact that the parking is found on the other side of the road is an accident waiting to happen specially that pope henessy street is always busy.

First: the nearest parking lot is on the opposite side of the road, so be prepared with rain gear (Curepipe weather, it goes without saying!To cross the road. If you opt for the larger one, its about 50m away!But inside, the products are quite varied, and unique for some of them: the Chinese seasonings and spices are one of the best there!Theres also a small place for snacks and warm drinks, so its quite a nice place for groceries. Pay attention to the announcements: there can be super bargains during flash sales...

Good atmosphere, a little too wide for me, no indication of what you need you have to go on all shelves to get what you need. You enter and you get chocolate then another ray has the same products. Not well arranged and need to walk a lot. Vegetables care was a horror, saw a salesgirl who was putting carrots on the shelf and 2 of the carrots fell she just leave it there or she will have taken it and put it back there without even washing, despicable for sure. But nice varieties of products.
