Signature Restaurant in Johannesburg

I went last night to celebrate my partners birthday, we thoroughly enjoyed the live music, the food and the service everyone goes an extra mile which is something I was looking forward to EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. I went into the built in wine refrigerator to see if I can try any of the wines and I think the manager told the waitress I should come out of there, it would have been kind of him to come and address me personally thank you. Overall enjoyed the scenery

We celebrated our anniversary yesterday. Signature Restaurant offers a Proper Fine Dining Experience. Service was impeccable. Food was amazing. Prices are a bit steep but generally a great place to visit. Great wine selection, a solo live one man band 🎺 kept us entertained..Be sure to make a turn there..

I have been here many times over the years. A few years back there seemed to be a slump in service, but it seems that they have upped their game. The food, service and the entertainment was excellent. The winelist is extensive but overpriced... Ive had some of the same wines at other restaurants at prices at least 50% cheaper

The service was just okay, the waitrons usually show enthusiasm and demonstrate good knowledge about the food they serve/ recommend. This time they appeared overwhelmed and seemed like they just wanted to push the numbers of patrons. The food was exceptional.

What a sublime experience. Elegant decor, extremely attentive staff without being intrusive, one of the best (most extensivewine lists I’ve encountered in SA, and exquisite food—both on the palate and the eye. Starters are roughly in the R150-200 range, mains roughly R300-400, desserts roughly R150-200. Live music is exactly the right style and volume to complement the setting. An excellent choice for a special occasion!

The staff is attentive and take care of your every need! The ambience is spectacular, we walked in at 18h00 and witnessed the most beautiful sunset. We absolutely love the place.

If you want a 5 star service this is thee restaurant. The service is out of this world. The food is sooo divine and not forgetting the live performance. You have gained another customer😋❤️

Wow, wow and woooow to the fabulous service and food at Signature Restaurant. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel so special, it warmed my heart. My boyfriend and I enjoyed every single course we had but I have to highlight that your steaks are beyond amazingly delicious 😋. It was one of the best steaks we have had and I would come back in a heartbeat for it.Thank you for making my boyfriends birthday so special. To many visits ☺️

Hi Signature. This may not make a difference to you, but I will never come to your restaurant again. We heard such great things about your food and atmosphere. We were in the area and spontaneously decided to go for a drink and an early supper. We were told that it was fully booked but because we were so early [it was around 5pm] we were shown a table. There were many empty tables, so the full house was definitely hours away. We sat there for 15mins being completely ignored by your waite staff and floor manager. Nobody engaged with us at all. No menus either. They walked past us several times without as so much as a glance. I will never come back. Rather support Hussars where we had a fantastic meal![UPDATE:] Deborah Bailey contacted me asking for contact details and offering me a free meal. I sent her details on 31/07/2022; and Deborah Bailey read the email on 01/08/2022 at 08.24am. But of course, Ive not heard anything since. More poor treatment from Signature - this is literally the online version of come in but we wont serve you. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, there are far better places to spend your time, energy and money on.

Beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent. Quite pricey but it was expected for a highly rated fine dining restaurant. Lovely evening entertainment even on weekdays.

Great setting with friendly and efficient staff. Foods a bit pricey, so make sure you have a solid budget. I enjoyed my meal.

Pictures dont do this place justice. The experience, from the very start right through to the end, is the stuff movies are made of. Did a waitress (not my waitressnot gently place a napkin on my lap while I was chatting away on my cellphone, after bringing my to-die-for desert? Signature is everything. 😭😭😭 Well done, team!

This resturant is a must. If you have never been before do yourself a favor and go.Their food is so well prepared and presented you almost wont want to eat it, it looks like art on a plate 😀.Staff are very welcoming and friendly.Ill be going back many more times in the future.

A truly fantastic fine dining experience! We were a group of four and ALL starters, mains and desserts were sublime! Perfect for a date because they have a great ambiance and live jazz music. Last but not least, the service was outstanding. We’ll definitely come back!

The experience was a greet one, nice and friendly waiters and the music was good too, loved the ambiance but an actual menu would have made the experience top notch or even a digital menu, something that wouldnt be a inconvenience with my phone

Decor. 1 star.Old fashion, dated. Looks like a banquet Hall from the 90s.Music. Live band. 1 star.Matches the decor. Bad taste 90s music.Food. Menu sounds amazing.Starters : Presentation of starters great.Taste OK, but not great.Chefs palate is very sweet.All the food had a "signature" sweetness.No depth of flavour as described on the menu.Just overly sweet.Mains: Seafood bisque.Menu promised greatness.Flavour. No bisque flavour. Just tasted like a Cape malay curry sauce with again "signature" sweetness. Seafood overcooked. The prawns were so rubbery and overcooked they curled tightly into a ball you could bounce off the walls. Had to ask for so lemon because the balance was so off that it tasted like chef put a pot of sugar syrup in the sauce.Dessert: Deconstructed apple pie.Also promised greatness.What was served was a stale tart crust that tasted almost rancid."ginger" ice cream that tastes like country fresh vanilla ice cream straight out of the tub. Black pepper custard tasted like ultramel custard straight from the box.Gel? What gel, it was cranberry jam from a bottle.I told them it was my sisters birthday. Their attention to detail. Nothing mentioned or acknowledged.If I could rate it a minus, I would.What a waste of time and money.The only things we really enjoyed was the Jamesons and Windhoek.And that wasnt prepared by Signature.

Tasteful spot. Great service with attentive staff. Beautifully plated food. A bit pricey but I guess that’s what you are going for. Desserts were not traditional to what we know but rather signatures spin on them. Not particularly my favourite thing but still okay. Fantastic wine selection.

The food is amazing. But for the price, the service needs to be improved. I’m incredibly disappointed.I came here for fiancé’s birthday - I told them his name and to put it on the dessert. They gave us the wrong desserts. Didn’t even put happy birthday. We were not once asked how the food is, or if we’re okay. And our waitress was so unfriendly.I’m really disgusted. Not coming back. Not recommending. This was supposed to be luxury dining - it was very very mid.

This is easily one of the top 5 best restaurants in the greater Johannesburg area. Very classy and worth the prices they charge 😅The food menu is extensive and the food is delicious 😋The alcoholic drinks menu is insane with 70 pages 😳 They seem to have wines from all parts of the world, and some bottles are in the range of a couple of thousand Zar. 🙃The hosting staff is out of this world! Beyond kind and helpful. I have no complaints about them and I often criticize staff who are lacking. Here they are knowledgeable and well trained. 🙌🏾If you are celebrating, this is the restaurant to go to for that. They have a live singer who sings so beautifully 😍 great music 🎶 She also calls out your name to wish you a happy birthday or congratulate you on the occasion.There were times I forgot that I am in Jhb.

A fine dining experience you will not forget.The starter bread and assorted butter flavours were SOOO delicious.Enjoyed the main, it was done to perfection and the dessert was oh so heavenly. Great ambience that would make you want to stay there for a while.They made sure our table was always cleaned after and making sure that we were still enjoying ourselves.Live band is the cherry on top. Plus the band gives a shout out if its your special occasion.I advise you to look at the menu on their website before you go here.You get a free parking ticket to exit the mall.Overall definitely recommend 👌🏽

My Husband and I celebrated my Birthday at Signature last night, and we had an amazing time the food was outstanding, friendly stuff always right there to attend to our needs, live music was excellent, Signature has an amazing vibe, perfect for celebrations

Everytime i visit Signature it is always such a great experience. I celebrated my birthday here and the good was absolutely delicious. The service is amazing and so was the music. Definitely a place worth visiting!

During summer, i think 18:30 is the perfect time to be seated. Try and get the window seats if possible because the breeze and the sky and the vibe are just so gorgeous.The food wasnt as phenomenal as i heard it to be. We ordered a mushroom risotto but it was too sweet to our taste. The stars of this place are the steaks. So tender, aromatic and the food decor is a bonus.We went on a Wednesday evening and at 19:30 there was live singing done by the most amazing lady❤Dessert wise, we had the apple crumble and the fererro roche tiramisu and both were a good choice❤Definitely would go again for special occasions!

Signature is an great restaurant. Perfect to celebrate those special occasions. A reservation would save any disappointment. The meals prepared definitely justify the price tag. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and provide recommendations that wont disappointment. They are also very attentive. For starters we had the oysters prepared in the normal way as well as tempura. For the main I had the lamp rump which was prepared to the desired temperature. For dessert I had the Lindt fountain chocolate cake. There are also great cocktails.

The ambiance is amazing. From the greeting, the lighting, even the live music with such ability. Wow.The service is on point, not a single issue, very friendly, and constantly ensuring we are enjoying and if were in need of anything, but without disturbing.The food, although pricey, is scrumptious, delicious, mouth watering and the plating is just beautiful.Because of the level of excellence that this institute lives up to, there was one dish that I felt could have been better. The Lamb Rump, although decadent, the lamb itself was too chewey and on its own a bit dry. But luckily all the components brought the dish together and added the layers to uplift the dish and assist with these shortfalls.Dessert again, top notch, high grade and quality ingredients, you have to try their creme brulee assortment is totally amazing as were the other dishes.A lovely, classy experience.

Fine dining scares people but guys this is a must. The whole experience from start to end is somewhat special. Food is impeccable and service is excellent. You definitely getting what you paying for and is such a wonderful treat

Salmon Sashimi that melts in your mouth. Grilled teriyaki Salmon, tomato soup, lamb cutlets. Really high quality ingredients. But the portions are too small for the price you pay. I love the environment and the high standards or service but I am not happy about what you get for that price.

This was one of the best places we ate, ambiance food location all top marks. The staff was so quick and efficient. We as international travellers, and staying in Cape Town we drove 45 min from the airport to come experience this Signature restaurant and were so glad we have the privilege to do so. We will fly back for the food and the people. Thank you for the service and top quality food !!

I had a Great service experience, friendly staff and delicious food. I could have eaten my beef brisket with a butter knife, it was that soft.

Worst sushi I’ve ever had. The rice was so old and hard and when my friend asked me why I was eating so slowly I gave him a piece to try and he told me that he also really doesn’t like the ‘fishy’ taste of the salmon.My main also looked nothing like the photos and my friend did not enjoy his risotto because they put too much honey inside so the sweetness was overpowering.For this price the quality does not match at all. So disappointing and I do not recommend going here.

Great experience. Staff extremely welcoming and kind. Very good service. Everytime we needed a waiter there was one at our service without asking or looking for one. Undoubtedly one of the best spaces I have ever dined at. Always welcoming and truly Ubuntu ( I am because we are spirit exists here. The staff energy and service culture is par excellence. Man agent walks the talk and the leader and founder is a role model. He lives the brand. Great food , well presented and it’s arts and science of food making.Always a space I look forward to visiting.

We did not enjoy the starters nor the main course. It was beautifully presented but the flavours werent great. We tried the poached lobster and duck trio starter, pork belly and duck leg confit main course and chocolate duo dessert. The dessert was good but nothing extraordinary. Try the gin cocktail with chamomile tea if you prefer a refreshing and sweet drink. I would visit again because of the excellent service, beautiful view, live entertainment and to try other dishes.

Such an exquisite restaurant. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Great sense of humour, which just made our experience that much better. The food is very tasty and the dessert is ridiculously good. A definite must!!
