Karl-Anton-Platz 8, 72488 Sigmaringen, Germany, Sigmaringen
Renaissance chateau owned by Hohenzollern family, built on a 1200 castle. Visit by guided tour.
Astonishing castle.A lot of things to see inside. The audio guide is included in the ticket price with a lot of language options to choose from(even Romanian language)
absolutely amazing, worth visiting and for a saturday there were not too many people. We basically were alone in the castle doing the tour. 14 euros worth the entry
So we checked the day before the programed visit, also 1 week before travelling to Germany, if it is open. It says very clear that it closing at 5.00 PM clock and the last entry it would be at 4.30 PM. We checked the program every day. In the day of the visiting, we managed to arrive at 4.15 PM and they said that last entry is at 4 not 4.30. But they changed the time of the last entry somewhere when we traveling to them. So they didnt let us get inside. This is so disrespectful for the clients!!!!!So when you will travel to this castle check at the phone if it is open!!!!!
Picture says it all, very much worth seeing Castle Sigmaringen. Interesting tour of the inside
Beautiful castle in a magnificent nature corner. Lots of castle ruins near, river Danube and forest.
Very beautiful and impressive castle, I was going to say that its "perfectly preserved", but its more than that - it feels alive. Part of the interiors are castle-style, part - palace-style, all of them beautiful. Its worth the effort to cross the river and climb the hill opposite the castle to get the best view of the castle on the rock
Wonderful castle
Nice audio tour... Great old stuff... 😂
Beautiful views from the outside. The grounds are very peaceful with walking g trails along the river. We did not go inside. Admission seems a little expensive but not unreasonable.
Unfortunately no time to go inside but it looks worth it from the outside. Sigmarigen is also a nice little town.
Rather short tour. The castle is big, but you can visit only 2 floors. The whole tour took 1h.
It was a really nice experience, just to find out how it was by the castle long ago!
I visited more then 100 castles, but this castle is one of the biggest and richest I have seen in my live. You can take audio guide & buy castle vine or liqueur in the end of tour. You need around 3-4 hours to see everything inside. Highly recommended to visit this place.
Very beautiful castle! Polite staff, audio guide available, parking lot close to the castle (you can pay only in cash).
A beautiful castle - there is an audio guide that was interesting. There is a lovely walk around the river that provides beautiful views of the castle
Takes a long time to travel to (at least from stuttgart), so be prepared. But other than that its a nice castle
Amazing private Tour through the Sigmaringen Castle.
It was truly lovely castle, so neat, charming and it was worth to visit. Highly recommend it.
Very Good Experience! Luxury rooms are constantly connected from the top to the bottom floor.
Looks a lot smaller in person. The interior is pretty dull unless you like looking at old weapons and portraits. The best spot to view from outside is over the river.
Its the most beautiful castle in Germany but its actually really nice. You have an audio guide and you can visit all by yourself. It is allowed to take pictures and theres nobody around while you visit. I really enjoyed my visit!
Wonderful experience. However, if you have limited mobility be sure and talk with them before you visit. Lots of stairs , inclines, and declines.
Second largest city castle in Europe, almost central to the city of Sigmaringen and ancestral seat of the Hohenzollern nobility.Definitely worth a visit and tour of the castle.
A great looking castle in a small town, very thorough audio guide. I would recommend. I only wish some of the upper rooms were accessible to get a view
Castle looks breathtaking! Unfortunately I couldnt visit it inside, as there was a modernisation break during my visit in Sigmaringen
Lovely castle, very pleasant environment, definitely worth to visit!
Beautifully maintained. Nice place to spend on a rainy or a really hot day.Audio explanation in most languages . The staff is really happy. There are a lot of small resturants around the castle. A must visit.
What a diamond, what a brilliant touristic attraction! One of the most impressive castles on the Danube - with pleasant little park around it. The must
12,5 euros the ticket but totally worth it !Such a beautiful castle and private collection !
Beautifully maintained. Audio tour was very informative. I (and must guyslove the armory. Easy to get to. Parked at the train station and an easy walk.
The castle was closed during Christmas but its worth seeing even without visiting the inside territory. Just nice walking around the lake capturing this gorgeous pice of architecture. On the lake there were also young swans with their parents 🕊️ and many ducks of different kinds 🦆
We visited the beautiful city of Sigmaringen and the palace. We took an audio guide to help us navigate the palace. The audio guide was worth the price. Very descriptive and informative. The palace is filled with antiques, paintings and furniture from the glory days of the palace. This palace also has a big armory with the combat weapons, armor worn by soldiers and their historical evolution.Hardly 2 hours drive from Stuttgart, its an ideal weekend plan.
Didn’t enter the castle, but I think it’s its impressive, fairytale architecture at the river Danube that deserves 5 stars!
A very beautiful castle and Wonderful place to visit.
Amazing. The best castle i ever seen in my life.
Great place to visit. Very big castle, smaller exhibition, but the weapons room and halls are impressive.
Incredible castle; drives you back in fairytales 🧚🏻♂️- take time to visit; you will step back and start dreaming.
Castle good kept, a bit expensive the ticket, just 2 floor available for visitors out of 400 rooms you can visit 15/20. Audio guides are not available in Spanish.
Can visit only on a guided tour and only in German...but the staff offer tour information nicely folded in other languages and it works ok. The castle is huge, but only a few rooms available for tourists. The armour museum also very interested, just remember to take the audio guide.
Very nice place alot of history specially the arms room dont miss it , the stuff are very nice
One of the castles also owned by Hohenzollern family. Beautiful castle in a beautiful city! Good place for hiking too! You can go into the castle for a tour but you must purchase a ticket at the entrance. One of must place to visit in Swabian Alb.
Great place to visit. Can only be done with a guided tour. Inside of the castle it is definitely worth seeing.
One of the biggest weapon collections I ever saw. The castle is also interesting and the guide was really enjoyable. Allow yourself at least 120 minutes for the whole visit: 60 for the guided tour and 60 minutes for the weapons collection.
The OTHER Hohenzollern castle, also a must see for Prussophiles!
Fantastic big castle! Unfortunately guided tours only in German.
Beautiful Castel, with a great view. Its a mandatory place to visit in sigmaringen. However, we only understand English but the tour guide was always speaking in German.
A true lesson of history. A special place where history has been forged, and where nobility and kings are at home. Where to start? The castle - valiantly watching from a high rock, above the Danube. The train station - built before other countries have existed. The wonderful guided tour around and inside the castle. Being a privately owned estate, the castle can only be visited by guided tour. Please be aware you should not take pictures / record videos inside the castle. What you will see there is truly special and a piece of European history. You see, there are alot of important people that came out of this castle. Cherrish your visit to this special place!
Nice castle that can be visited with a guided tour.
Another well maintained beautiful Castle... Guide was very exciting. have a lot of collections from past. Interior with glass combinations was marvelous...
Massive castle and very historical tour. The armoury was impressive. But I would have liked to have seen more of this huge castle and grounds....
