Sichuan Chinese Restaurant in Addis Ababa

A great place to have a relaxing low budget delicious meal within walking distance from several five star hotels. Try the Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Shrimp Fried Rice. Heavenly.!

The place do not have a visible poster for its name. I have not tried the Chinese food but the Ethiopian breakfast foods.I have tested some of the foods and, they are tasty with a fair price.

As other reviewers have already suggested, you probably will not find a better Chinese restaurant in Addis, Genuine Sichuan spices throughout. Fifth star lacking since not only do they charge for a small serving of ”shrimp crackers”, but they are completely blend not even a hint of shrimp noticed here…I.e. Dont even ask, otherwise highly recommended!

Best place for authentic Chinese food in Addis Ababa.

Very expensive, and the staff experience was terrible. The server told us the spicy beef roll was mild. It came back very spicy. She told us after she had no idea actually, as shes never tried it and basically lied to us. The management didnt care, and told us theres nothing they can do. I said so should we throw it away, they said you can take it home. This is not as great an experience as youd hope. I can see why theres no locals who eat here. You will not get the most of it unless you are used to Traditional Chinese Restaurants.

Worst restaurant ever had in my life

Good Chinese food from Ethiopian chef. Had fried rice and sizzling lamb.Staff very attentive and kind.

Ordered Mapo Tofu， spare ribs and noodles with soup. Tofu is not recommended as little tofu in the dish and flavor is just ok. Ribs and noodles are good. The decoration inside restaurant is comfy and prices are cheaper than other Chinese restaurants. Will come back.

A lovely Chinese restaurant in Addis with nice food. But they could do so much better with the location. It’s on the third floor in the mall but at night everything might seems ghostly. Anyway, coming back to the food, you get a lot of authentic dish options. We ordered golden fried veggie dumplings (yummm), Vegetarian Tofu (spiced with black pepper & freshly madeand Steamed Rice. Overall good place if you’re craving for Chinese food. They are also on Deliver Addis. We saw only few staff but didn’t have to wait a lot for our food. We were also served complementary spring rolls.

We ordered Vegetarian dumplings, dumplings soup, spring rolls and egg fried rice. These are our favorites. Brillant restaurant even for Chinese people.

As a Chinese stayed in Addis already 4years, I am shocked when I reached here and heard about the onwer is Ethiopian. It means the food will be cheaper than other Chinese restaurant.And after I tested the fried noodle cook by the local chef, I can say excellent.Of course compared with local food, Chinese food always expensive, but in here the price is very reasonable.I am satisfied.

Terrible

I havent seen a single Chinese cooking or managing in that restaurant. Its named Chinese but locals are in charge and food doesnt test Chinese that much. Its surprisingly pricy for nothing as place isnt that fancy. Bad experience.

Quality of food is very good and cheap compared to other restaurants. Veg spring rolls are worth mentioning.

Besides the Oriental restaurant at the Hyatt, this is the next best Chinese food in Addis. Although pricey compared to the standard local food, the food is very good. This is my 4th time having take out from them. I ordered the Hot and Sour soup as well as the Chili Chicken. Both are EXCELLENT. The restaurant is very nice as well. They gave me a fried spring roll while I wait. I like waiting b/c I know they are making the food fresh.

Hidden charges and unimpressive food. Chicken was coated in a dough, when I peeled that off there was only a small piece of chicken inside. Came with a very starchy sauce which I dont fancy at all. On the bill 10% service charge and then 15% tax are added, none of which is mentioned anywhere on the menu, which would be downright illegal practice in Europe but probably not here, however it shows a rip-off attitude of the management which I regret having patronised. A simple plate of rice which was even overcooked and is not included with any dish is already a steep 75 birr on the menu, with tax and service added it comes to 95 birr, for which you can already get a decent meal elsewhere, and definitely a tastier one. Will never eat here again.

I googled for Chinese restaurant and found this place. I called the number on the website and was directly connected to the Chef. I was looking to see if they had a lobster and the Chef took the trouble of searching for and buying it. I was really impressed because I had tried another Chinese restaurant and was simply told that they didnt have it.On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and a table was also reserved for us. And we were served with very delicious soup and tasty spring rolls for the appetizer and sizzling chicken and a delicious lobster for the main course.I recommend this place for all habesha folks who dare not try other dishes to try it. You wont go wrong with it.Thank you Chef Neba! I appreciate the service you gave us tonight. We are definitely coming back!!!

Food was alright. However, it is expensive and we were very disappointed by the hidden 10% surcharge.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Addis. Chef Nebiyou is great, the service is very good, staff very friendly and the food excellent. A simple menu yet with a variety to choose from between vegetarian and non vegetarian option. We really enjoy it every time.

Its okay to visit once when you starving as Asian food. Nice service

We ordered two soups, were good. As a starter they offered for free two rolls.As main course, we ordered a chicken based dish, 225 ETB..not cheap so I was expecting a delicious and decent quantity of clean/clear chicken...But...What we found was a scrambled small dish with so few meat...maybe 100gr or even less..and even more, it was very difficult to know whether was chicken or other thing since it was so thin and coated..As finished this "big meal" the personnel, who is really kind indeed, asked us if we were full and as my answer was NO, they tried to compensate with a noodle dish...thats not the solution ( only good to fill the stomach but also was anodine..).To wrap up, not so good quality and very expensive (Notice also we paid 595ETB for a bottle of vine....european price and 50% more than other places in Ethiopia)...I was disappointed..considering that score of this restaurant was 45...I hope my comment is useful and help you to implement improvements.Regards.
