Siam Thai - Thai restaurant in Derry, United Kingdom
Lovely place for thai food
Beer was sourRice comes in a bagMy dish was bland and very tasteless
Very nice, very good resturant and take away
Wonderful food. Great service. Highly recommended.
We managed to order the two spiciest dishes and they were both delicious. We were aware that they would be hot and they were. The chef is Thai so dishes are authentic. Good value meal and very friendly server.
Food is delicious and the staff are great! 🍻
Main course a little on small side
This is the best Thai food Ive had in years,!
It’s so good that you could eat here everyday.
Great food. Are here on the bank holiday weekend, so the staff were a bit overrun and frantic. The food was lovely, eventually. Seating was a problem. We couldnt get a table for six. However we could get 3 X 2s, a 4 and 2 or two 3s. Maybe even a 5 and a 1 at a push. Lovely food though.
On a very busy weekend they fitted a group of six in for a meal ,the food was very tasty ,They were understaffed but still managed to serve us reasonably quick !
Great food, got the chicken pad thai. Good service. Would recommend!
Amazingly good thai restaurant, we had the mixed vegetarian starters to share and that was already a delight, and then our main courses, plentiful and equally delicious. Very, very, very good value for money and excellent service.
The best thai Restaurant I have eaten in Northern İreland. I got lost in the menu when I went there to order! because there was so much variety!!. and their prices are very fair, even less for this taste! As a thai restaurant hunter, I say; This restaurant is in the top 5 in Ireland and Northern Ireland❤️☘️👌🏽 I didnt even wait 15 minutes for my 2 orders, ขอบคุณ☺️🙏🏼
No not good. Seen ad in the Derry Takeaway Booklet that was put through our door so we said we"d give it a try. Ordered 2 Thai Chicken Green Currys and 2 bags of chips; curry is advertised as coming with boiled rice and at £7.95, I should think so! Over 1 hour later, no food so I phoned them. They said only 1 curry was sent. What arrived was a joke: a small tub of watery Thai Green Curry, NO. RICE, and a very small bag of soggy chips . We were charged £1 extra for the chips and £7.95 for the portion of Thai curry sauce with small bit ofchicken and peas. Joke. No good. Never again.
Fresh and tasty authentic Thai cuisine. I have previously had the green and red Thai curries, also the Panang curry which are all delicious. Tom yum soup is also gorgeous. Ive also tried many of the different rices with the coconut rice being my favourite. Singa beer on draft. Friendly staff and great take away service too. Well worth a visit.
Great food and excellent service .Enjoyed the night out
Love the food! But portion size is abit small when I had the yellow curry , very little chicken and veg
Staff are friendly. However food is extremely disappointing. Best thing on the menu was green curry that was probably from a paste made 5 years ago.Satay doesn’t taste like satay. Chicken was rock hard. Fish cakes made the satay taste gourmet.
Good food, not so good service. We were there on a Tuesday night, the card machine was broken (nothing dodgy thereand the staff seemed more preoccupied with takeaway orders than serving the three tables sitting inside
Great food every time. Delivery service is excellent, small mistake on order was handled superbly on phone and food re-delivered in no time.
Very enjoyable food with friendly eager-to-please service. Whats not to like? Reasonably priced and pleasantly relaxed.
Highly recommend Siam Thai, food was amazing, service was flawless and an over all great experience. Looking forward to eating here again.
The taste they offer is so close to authentic thai that it reminds me of the food I had in Thailand. The service is great too and it is such a relief that when the menu promises a kick to their dish they offer it and not be disappointed. This does not necessarily mean that the spice level diminish the other taste in the food it is infact always in right balance. Pad kra pao is absolutely gorgeous and even the papaya salad is wonderful. Hope the food continues to taste like this and thank you for it all.
I have enjoyed the food from here but my past two orders have been lacking big time. Think Im done with them for a while.
I love this place, getting a takeout for here is the highlight to my day! Super delicious and quality food! I recommend the gang kiew wan with sticky rice, my favourite.
One of the healthier take aways you can opt for and whilst I havent tried everything on the menu I can say that what I did taste, which was the red and green Thai curries on separate occasions, were top quality. Egg fried rice was absolutely spot on too, couldnt fault it.
Always super tasty and amazing food. Customer service is great, we had a tiny issue with our order and they were super helpful in fixing it and making sure we were happy with the order.
Really frustrating take away service, complete opposite to the restaurant experience. Numerous times Ive ordered for pick up and items are missing, with the promise of delivery to make up for the mistake, but then either forgotten about or the issue is never resolved. On one instance, they forgot items, they where to send it in a delivery, we waited an hour, rang back, to see where it was, said they forgot and the kitchen was closed and that they would speak to the manager and call us back the next day, no contact. So, obviously through frustration, I left it for a few months. Decided to try again yesterday for pick up, double checked the bag and received correct items, red Thai, nice, papaya salad, nice, then beef massaman was severely over salted, under cooked potatoes, and it had more star anise bits than anything else, literally every fork had a whole piece or peanut sized pieces. Rang to resolve the issue, polite young lady on the phone apologised, but due to previous experiences of nothing being done about it on their end, I drove back over again to get my money back for massaman only. I Love supporting local restaurants, but this is making it tough to do, a simple taste of food/check of items, and a more professional response to resolve issues with customers would be appreciated, because its causes alot of wasted time, frustration and money.
Restaurant with good thai food. Menu with several different options. Nice decorations - I like the umbrelas on the ceiling. However it is not remarkable - good is a bit greasy. The duck could be better cooked - do not expect crispy skin. Not all staff was wearing face covering. Even though it ia a good option to eat out on Derry city.
Absolutely amazing food! I will recommend the massaman curry (peanutand the sticky mango rice for dessert. Lovely staff too.
I thoroughly recommend Siam Thai. The food is always incredible, the staff are lovely, and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely say its the best Thai restaurant in Northern Ireland.
Food: amazing. Had the mixed starter for sharing which was a nice start, but the pad see aew was for sure one of the best Ive had (incl Thailand!). Service: because of the eat out, help out scheme, they were crazy busy, they kept apologizing for any delays, but this food is worth the wait so we didnt mind. I forgot to ask her name, but the (I think Thai?lady who served us with a big smile and laughter all night was amazing!! Also thanks to the guy (bald & black face mask - sorry, again no name asked..behind the bar who was very attentive.
I had a delivery of food. The curry I ordered tasted okay but the sauce was really runny and had very little meat and potatoes to speak of. The Tom yum soup was truly awful. Very little Thai flavour and huge chunks of very tough squid( thought it had been in the freezer since lockdown. Overall very poor quality for the money. So very disappointed.
Impressive! Taste like traditional Thai food!
By far the best Thai restaurant in the UK. Nice taste, affordable price and great service.
Nice meal and affordable. Missing a few authentic ingredients but understandable given they are in Derry. I will b back
Beautiful interior, engaging staff, fast service and authentic Thai food that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Excellent.
Friendly staff, well decorated. Perfect for our first thaï food. Pad thai, khow pad and tempura sprawns are fabulous.
Great Tom yum, but duck was good also but too sweet and few vegetables would helped this dish a lot
The food is fantastic and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. I have been several times now with my children aged 15 and 7 and there is plenty to choose from, even for a fussy younger child! They love it as much as I do and the staff always make us feel very welcome.
Well. Empty plates! Wish I took pictures before we finished all our food. Food was so tasty en we felt good after eating there. Good clean food and service was excellent. Street parking outside so I suggest parking somewhere else.
I love the food here and all the vegan options for every meat dish, which makes is a simple choice when dining with a mixed group
Really nice authentic Thai food. Lovely Thai food went with friends and ordered in proper Thai style where you order a load of dishes and stick them in middle of table and share them and have a bit of everything so no food envy. Portions slightly smaller than western ones so ordered 8 dishes between 6 people. Pineapple fried rice, pad thai and steak dish were particularly good. Flavours very different not as sweet as western food more sour and spicy but nice for a change. Waitress was lovely and asked how spicy we wanted it.
Not recommended. Derry is not full of choice for Thai food but I wont be returning. Pad see ew was chewy, Tiger Cry beef was fatty and neither char grilled or served with a sauce that would make a tiger cry.its supposed to be lean, charred meat with a very hot sauce. Overall the meal didnt seem fresh and was not worth the money shelled out.
Pad kee mow vegetarian style was great with take out. They did have a card issue so it was only cash. Convenient ATM across the street! Plus, food was spicy, which keeps the true essence of thai food!
Waiting staff helpful and friendly. Tom kha chicken (sweet coconut milk soupwas delicious, sharing platter had enough variety and selection of classic dips. Thai panang pork curry was just like Thailand with a great amount of flavor. The chef special pineapple fried rice was enjoyed but I felt it lacked spice(personal preference, perhaps an accompanying sauce would be ideal, nam chim). Thai rums were sangsom and hong thong but no beer chang :( food well priced and will go back. Real Thai chefs.
Food are delicious. Service also 5 stars
Ordered the tom yum soup, the pad kee mao and chicken skewers. Everything was delicious- until I got home. I violently threw up the soup and had horrible food poisoning for the rest of the night. Beware !!
Amazing food and service. Had a minor mix up with the order that was sorted with absolutely no fuss. Really affordable and great atmosphere cant wait to go back!
