Si Thep Historical Park in Wichian Buri

เป็นอุทยานประวัติศาสที่เก่าแก่ทำมาจากหินศิลาแลงหรือคล้ายคล้ายหินลูกรังประวัติศาสตร์ยาวนานตั้งแต่สมัยพุทธศตวรรษที่ 12 เหลือร่องรอยประวัติศาสตร์ให้ได้ติดตาม มีการดูแลสถานที่ดีมากเจ้าหน้าที่บริการดีมากมีรถกอล์ฟพาเข้าชมสถานที่ค่าเข้าใช้บริการชมอุทยานคนไทยคนละ 20 บาทและรถยนต์คันละ 50บาท เราควรแวะมาชมและบำรุงสถานที่กันนะครับ

This historical park contains both Hindu and Buddhism monasteries. The oldest pagoda is approximately 1,200 years old.It locates in Phetchabun province and nearby the major highway route 21. So you may spend about 3 hours of driving from Bangkok.The park area is spotless and well-maintained. It is also shady with many big trees, so it would not be too hot during the daytime.Compared to other historical parks, there should be more information about each pagoda, stupa, and building.

สถานที่สวยงาม พิพิธพัณฑ์ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับสถานที่ดี มีโบราณสถานและโบราณวัตถุที่น่าสนใจมากหลายจุด ผมไปถึงก็บ่าย 2 แล้ว เลยดูได้ไม่ทั่ว แต่ก็คิดว่าได้เก็บจุดสำคัญได้หลายจุดที่คิดแล้วทำให้หัวใจพองโตที่ได้ไปเที่ยวชมที่นี่ คือ 1.ภาพหรืองานปั้นคนแคระ(ที่ทางสถานที่ตั้งชื่อให้)ที่เขาคลังในด้านทิศใต้และตะวันตก 2.ซากโบราณที่เหลือแต่พื้นล่างที่อยู่ส่วนด้านตะวันตกของเมือง(มี 2 ส่วน แต่เรียกว่าอะไรจำไม่ได้ละ😄😅)ด้านหลังป้อมทางเข้า ถ้าเป็นตามที่ผมเข้าใจ มันมีความหมายมาก(แต่ยังไม่บอกหรอกให่คิดเอาเอง🤣🤣😁3.เขาคลังนอก อลังการงานสร้าง สวย และผมคืดว่ามีความหมายที่สำคัญที่เกี่ยวกับงานหิน(เป็นสาเหตุหลักที่ผมมาที่นี่และเคยดูคลิปของเพจขรรชัย-สุจืตฯ เขาว่าเมืองโบราณศรีเทพอาจเป็นเมืองที่ชื่อว่า"ทวารวดี" นี่ก็เป็นอีกส่วนที่ผมมาที่นี่ เสียดายไม่ได้ไปดูปรางค์ฤษี เพราะเย็นแล้ว กลับถึงบ้านมานอนคืดถึงปริศนาเกี่ยวกับเมืองโบราณศรีเทพแล้ว นอนไม่หลับทั้งคืน คือตีปริศนาไม่ออก มาคิดออกก็อีกวัน🤣🤣😁ก็เลยเสียดายที่ไม่ได้ไปเที่ยวชมปรางค์ฤษี แต่ผมก็คิดว่าผมเก็บจุดสำคัญได้มากแล้ว ความจริงอยากไปที่อื่นก่อน แต่พอเห็นนั่นได้ยินนี่จึงลัดคิวมานี่ก่อนเลย🤣🤣😁

อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีเทพนั้น นับเป็นแหล่งอารยธรรมที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทยปัจจุบัน เนื่องจากยังเป็นพื้นที่ที่ปรากฎร่องรอยหลักฐานซึ่งสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่อาศัยของมนุษย์ที่มีมาอย่างต่อเนื่องนับตั้งแต่สมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์  วัฒนธรรมทวารวดีและเขมรตามลำดับ ซึ่งรวมระยะเวลาที่มีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองถึงกว่า ๘๐๐ ปี ก่อนที่จะถูกทิ้งร้างไปด้วยสาเหตุโรคระบาดร้ายแรงหรือปัญหาภัยแล้งประการใดประการหนึ่งหรือทั้งสองประการ   ในราวปลายพุทธศตวรรษที่  ๑๘ - ต้นพุทธศตวรรษที่  ๑๙  อันเป็นช่วงก่อนที่วัฒนธรรมสุโขทัยและอยุธยาจะเจริญรุ่งเรืองขึ้นมาแทนที่ในบริเวณลุ่มแม่น้ำป่าสัก และมีการพัฒนาการตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่อาศัยอย่างต่อเนื่องมาจนเท่าถึงปัจจุบันจากการขุดค้นทางโบราณคดีเมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๑ โดยโครงกระดูกมนุษย์และสิ่งของเครื่องใช้ที่พบร่วมกันนี้เป็นหลักฐานสำคัญที่สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการตั้งถิ่นฐานของชุมชนในระยะแรกเริ่มสมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ภายในเมืองโบราณศรีเทพที่มีมากว่า  ๒,๐๐๐  ปี

โบราณสถาน “เมืองศรีเทพ” ภายในอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีเทพ จังหวัดเพชรบูรณ์ คือหลักฐานสำคัญอย่างหนึ่งที่แสดงให้เห็นว่า ณ สถานที่แห่งนี้ครั้งหนึ่งเคยมีมนุษย์อาศัยอยู่มีความรุ่งเรืองเป็นอย่างมาก มีการตั้งถิ่นฐานมาตั้งแต่สมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์อีกทั้งโบราณสถานแห่งนี้ยังสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความรุ่งเรืองของวัฒนธรรมทวารวดีและเขมรตามลำดับ ก่อนที่จะถูกปล่อยทิ้งให้รกร้างและถูกลืมเลือนไปในที่สุดในปี พ.ศ. 2447 สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ กรมพระยาดำรงราชานุภาพ ครั้งดำรงตำแหน่งเสนาบดีกระทรวงมหาดไทยได้ทรงค้นพบเมืองโบราณแห่งนี้ พระองค์ได้ค้นพบทำเนียบเก่าที่บอกรายชื่อหัวเมืองและมีชื่อเมืองศรีเทพ แต่ไม่มีผู้ใดรู้ว่าว่าเมืองแห่งนี้ตั้งอยู่ที่ใดต่อมาพระองค์ทรงค้นพบสมุดดำเล่มหนึ่งกล่าวถึงการให้คนเชิญตราสารไปบอกข่าวการสิ้นพระชนม์ของรัชการที่ 2 ไปตามหัวเมืองต่างๆ และมีอยู่เส้นทางหนึ่งไปทางเมืองสระบุรี เมืองชัยบาดาล เมืองศรีเทพ เมืองเพชรบูรณ์ จึงตั้งสมมติฐานว่าเมืองศรีเทพน่าจะอยู่ทางลำน้ำป่าสัก เมื่อเสด็จตรวจราชการมณฑลเพชรบูรณ์ได้จัดหาผู้ชำนาญพื้นที่เพื่อที่จะสอบถามว่ามีเมืองโบราณอยู่ใกล้ลำน้ำป่าสักที่ไหนบ้างและถามไถ่หาความจากชาวบ้านในพื้นที่ที่ออกมาต้อนรับว่า ละแวกนี้นั้นมีเมืองโบราณอยู่หรือไม่ และได้ทำการค้นหาอย่างจริงจัง จนในที่สุดก็ค้นพบเมืองโบราณแห่งหนึ่งซึ่งตั้งอยู่ใกล้กับลำน้ำป่าสัก และทรงเรียกเมืองนี้ว่า “เมืองศรีเทพ”เมืองโบราณแห่งนี้มีลักษณะเป็นเมืองซ้อนเมืองแล้วมีเนินดินสูงล้อมรอบคล้ายกำแพงเมือง ด้านนอกของเนินดินเป็นบึงน้ำขนาดใหญ่ล้อมรอบอีกหนึ่งชั้น การขุดค้นเมืองโบราณแห่งนี้เริ่มขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2521 โดยกรมศิลปากร และเป็นที่น่าแปลกใจของกรมศิลปากรเมื่อเห็นว่าภายในพื้นที่บริเวณเขตเมืองโบราณนั้นไม่มีชาวบ้านคนไหนเข้าไปตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่ภายในเมืองโบราณเลย แต่กลับสร้างบ้านและตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่รอบนอกเขตเมืองโบราณเท่านั้นชาวบ้านเล่าว่าพื้นที่ดังกล่าวมีความเชื่อว่าเป็นพื้นที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์เป็นที่อยู่ของเทพเทวดา เมืองโบราณแห่งนี้เทพเทวดาได้สร้างเอาไว้ก่อนที่จะขึ้นไปอยู่บนสวรรค์ ในสมัยก่อนจึงไม่มีใครกล้าเข้าไปอยู่อาศัยและมีความเชื่อว่าหากใครเข้าไปอยู่ในพื้นที่เมืองโบราณแห่งนี้ ก็จะเกิดอาเพศกับตนเองและครอบครัวบางคนอาจล้มป่วยโดยไม่มีสาเหตุ หรือบางคนถึงขั้นเสียสติเมื่อเข้าไปอยู่อาศัยภายในสถานที่แห่งนี้ ชาวบ้านในพื้นที่ทำได้แค่เพียงอาศัยพื้นที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์แห่งนี้ประกอบอาชีพเท่านั้น ซึ่งในสมัยก่อนก็จะมีการประกอบอาชีพการเกษตร ล่าสัตว์ และเก็บของป่าการเที่ยวชมอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ศรีเทพนั้นจะมีรถรางนำเที่ยวชมรอบอุทยานขอบพระคุณเจ้าหน้าที่ให้ความรู้และบริการดีมาก รวมถึงเจ้าหน้าที่ขับรถด้วยครับ ประทับใจมากๆ สถานที่สะอาดเป็นระเบียบเรียบร้อย ห้องน้ำสะอาด มีของที่ระลึกจำหน่ายด้วย เลยช่วยอุดหนุนเสื้อกับหนังสือ

nice place to visit

Vast place with historical view and ancient infrastructures. Very well maintained place. Family and elderly people friendly place. You have to buy tickets. There are tour shuttle to take you inside the park. Very peaceful place.

Large and quiet.

The historical explanation organized well with both Thai and English written in Museum. The park providing vehicle to send you to another point and return to nearby exit. Personel was very friendly. Worth to visit for the one who really interested to history and ancient building

Impressive to see the ruins from a city from 9 to 14 centuries ago in a beautiful park setting. I would not drive here just from Bangkok. If you pass by it is worthwhile your time.

Interesting historical site to visit enroute from Khao Kho/ Khao Yai to Bkk for under an hr. Entrance fee is higher for tourists vs locals. There is a tram that takes you round the grounds manned by driver who speaks simple English. Exhibits are mainly explained in Thai so not alot of info for foreigners to understand and take home.

Amazing place

Off the beaten track place to visit! But worth weil to come here. Its a large area to explore and there is a shuttle bus running all the time. They drop you off where ever you like. The place has suffered erosion over the many years but its still a beautiful site not to miss .Best way to find it follow your GOOGLE MAPS GPS and it will show you the way. There are nice BUNGALOWS nearby to rest for the night. Enjoy

Si Thep Historical Park covers a large area and has an inner town and an outer town, both encircled by moats. There are three large monuments of which Prang Si Thep and Prang Song Phi Nong are Hindu temples built during the Khmer period. A later Buddhist monument, called Khao Klang Nai looks like an elongated stupa where the top structure has long since fallen and disintegrated. Take an electric cart to explore the ruins as its a long distance to walk, especially when its hot and humid.

This is one of the most beautiful place to visit in Thailand.

I went to there by car and it wasnt guided me whether I have to pay for enter or where I can see in side because I read on website this place is ancient and interesting!

Beautiful landscape dotted wuth numerous ruins dating back to the 7th century CE. Small but informative exhibition center and small tour trams are available. Worth the trip if youre in the area.

Very well kept grounds, and information centre. Not as much here to see as some other sites charging the same entry fee. But still amazing to see.

Very much for the scholar. The remains are not on a big scale. The park howerver is large and pleasant. One hour and youve seen all Si Thep has to offer.

Great place. Great feeling.

Peaceful historical park. Good if small museum. The site is quite large but free transport provided to main temples. 100 baht for foreigners. 40 for locals. They charge 20 baht for parking.

Historic place in Sritep

Really well done place. Not much to see compares to the old capitals of Sukhothai and ayutaya but very very interesting museum

One of The great thai historical

Much less known then the well known historical parks of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai but that doesnt mean its not worth a visit.Very friendly staff, good service with the electrical car and very well preserved historical village.

A beautiful big park with trolleybus service.

A must go place for whom interested in archeology.

Went first thing in the morning before it got too hot. They have an electric tram to ferry people from the parking area to the sight. But its only a 5-10 minute walk.The park itself is very nicely maintained and clean.
