Description
Historical Building
Very quiet monastery
Beautiful monastery, the woodwork is exquisite. Very calm and peaceful place. Thankfully there was not many people there, so it didnt disturb the serenity of the monastery.
MoreThis place is very Ancient place so I am so like it..
Absolutely stunning teak wood monastery. A little away from downtown but absolutely worth it. Also a meditation hall.
MoreOld culture monastery
Very interesting Temple made from wood. Worth to see.
its really nice and quite place to visit.
Informative place. A little sad the monks were eating when we visited so we could not get a glimpse of their daily life.
Morewood carving monastery.when you visit in side of mandalay you should go there.
Beautiful and quiet wooden monastery, intimately scaled proportions.
There are three wooden monasteries in mandalay, shwenandaw, bagaya and shweinbin monastery, all the three monasteries are wooden temples and very similar to each other. This is my personnel view and my opinion only.If you visit either one of the monastery, there would be no need to visit the other two monastery, the best of the three would be Shwenandaw monastery which is quite close to the palace and within the city centre
MoreShweinbin Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Mandalay, Burma, built in the tradition of Burmese teak architecture.
MoreOrthentic ancient teak monastery hall that is in use.
Amazing architexture of ancient Burmas architects
Wooden spout is very rare to see around this town. You can also see the lantern that was given by British mornach.
MoreBeautiful place with walls transpiring its history!
I was the only visiting person at the time. Beside me, there were only some monks. Beautiful.
MoreQuiet but beautiful, not just the wooden building but also the path around it. Small but really nice atmosphere.
MoreBeautiful old place
It is the place to enjoy the beauty of wood carvings.
We though in a place with people or monks, but not, the place it was empty and in not good conditions, eventhough is nice to visit for the experience.
MoreBeautiful ancient monastery.
Nice break from the usual grand big monasteries in the area. Wooded structure with different vibes. Monks engaged in occult practices back in the day (ref: sightseeing write up at sanctuary hotel), and sure feels like it.
MoreAn ornately carved temple that must have been spectacular in its heyday but now in need of restoration. Its surrounded by the old dwellings of the resident monks, but its eerily quiet.Note the sign to remove "slippers" (shoes), but then you walk around on the ground barefoot - unusual vs only entering a prayer hall.On the one side, the wooden gates at the top of the staircases are open and you can go to the first level and enter the prayer hall upstairs.
MorePeaceful place
Nice and quiet monastery! Beautiful architecture!
Good
It’s an interesting neighborhood if you’d like to walk but in terms of its architecture nothing really special.
MoreBeautiful old teak woods monastery
Impressive and aesthetically pleasing structure. Very relaxing, we were there at 3pm on a Monday and were absolutely alone. But please, send somebody with a hammer to re-nail all those planks, nails are protruding a bit of everywhere and it isnt pleasant as you have to walk bare feet there...
MoreQuiet and nice place. Surprisingly no tourists at all. Good to have a look if you are around.
MoreNice quiet place with good preserved wood carvings. It is a visit worth.
Worth visiting. Quiet and peaceful place.
Really great impression. Original very rich wood carved decorations ! Definately worth visiting. Were lucky to see it almost alone without turist traffic. Being in Mandalay you should go there !

MoreVery Peaceful place, No Entrance fee is Good 👍 better take a plastic bag to put your shoes because shoes are not allow to wear in the Monastery, surrounding have no restaurant or shop, better let your Taxi wait for you.
MoreA beautifully built monastery using the tradition of Burmese teak architecture.
Nice wooden monastery
Very nice and very peaceful monastery with the central structure entirely made of wood on stilts, more than 100 years old. Entrance is free but you can leave an offer for the renovation of the building. The best time to visit is early morning or before sunset as it becomes very hot there after 11am like in other places in Mandalay.
MoreVery beautiful monastery made of teakwood.
Beautiful wooden architecture with wonderfully intricate wood carvings and decorations. Interesting history.
MoreOne of must see attraction for tourists
Really worth to go there ! Amazing temple and not crowded with tourist.

Nice and pleasant place with no tourist for me.
Very peaceful place. Also you can easily meet locals.
This is an amazing tranquil place with great woodwork all around you. You can walk around and enjoy the teak woodcraft on architecture and then meditate inside.Recommended!!
MoreBy far the cutest pagoda Ive seen. The one in Innwa is not half what youll see there. None seems to know it so its very empty but this is such a nice place. The sculptures on the doors and walls, the pillars under which you can walk, the for-once-not-shiny temple inside. A place to see
