Former football coach Don Shula's clubby chain serving aged beef & other steakhouse fare.
Unfortunately there is no restaurant here anymore, only a small grill that serves burgers and drinks. The burgers were decent but not what we would have expected from a "nice" golf course.
The food at ML Steaks is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared. I loved the service and hats off to Master Chef Leo for making our first time there such an experience. He really took the initiative to offer the best quality food and service! Thank you for the wonderful and stress-free evening on a manic Monday. I highly recommend this place.
One the best steak houses all over the world I ever entered. The 48oz porterhouse offer is the best choice on the menu. Affordable prices, very attentive service and the typical charming interior of a SHULA´s steak restaurant.
Slow service. If you want to pay a premium price for great cuts of steak, go elsewhere. If you want to pay a premium price for sub-par cuts glued together and cooked poorly, eat here. Bury the steak in steak sauce and pretend you didnt empty your wallet for garbage.
I enjoyed my meal, there was a lot they got right but missed here and there. When frequenting these types of restaurants, you expect an above average effort, that was not what I received.
Love this place. We are Miami Lakers and eat there frequently. The staff is amazing. Delvis, the best bartender along with Sarai. Always super friendly, attentive, you feel like you’re among family. Hector is also very friendly and super attentive. Food has always been very good. The drinks are out of this world, especially martinis (they remember what you like). Love to go there on Fridays and enjoy a very nice dinner. Love the bbq shrimp, wedge salad, seafood trio, lobster soup and onion soup. The Docs
Steak was very good. Well seasoned and very tender. Highly recommend requesting Mark as your waiter. He’s entertaining, has great timing and awareness, and seemed very talented at making sure every detail of our experience was perfect and seamless.
Overall:Terrible. I probably wouldnt give this restaurant a try even during Miami Spice.Staff:My friend and I had reservations and we were on time. Just wanted to make sure I pointed that out. She gave us a look as if to say "why are you here?". She told us it would be a moment. Ten minutes or so passes by and in walks a couple; who were greeted by name. Its obvious that they frequent the restaurant a lot. They were immediately shown to their seats. Not a problem. Perhaps they had an earlier reservations and theyre late. A few more minutes pass by and in walks a party 5 that was immediately seated. They were early for their 6pm reservation. Our reservation was at 5:30pm. When we inquired about he wait we were told that they were getting our table together. Finally we are escorted to the back. The dining area is empty. The tables in the middle are primarily empty and there were a few booths that were occupied. So why the wait?Food:I honestly do not see what the rave is about. Ive always heard about the various Shula restaurants but never experienced them. When I saw that they were apart of Miami Spice, I thought to myself why not. My steak tasted as if I got to from Applebees or some chain restaurant. Shulas is supposed to be known for its steaks yet the one I had was subpar. And they brag about their "special" steak sauce. It honestly tastes like Heinz 57 and A1 mixed together. Basically, nothing special about it.
Don shula is currently participating in the Miami Spice and was a great experience. To enjoy a 5 star meal with the view of the golf course. The food was well seasoned and the service was immaculate svc
Be very very aware!!!Had dinner at Shulas Steakhouse and I must say the food is fantastic however do not Park your car at the property. Tuesday night we had dinner as we have been doing for the past 10 years on a monthly basis and park your car on the side where everybody else parks from the valet company. After dinner drove home half a mile away and saw a big dent on the top of the roof of the car that only a golf ball can do. Drove back to Shulas filed a claim and I’m still waiting for an answer. Spoke to one of the managers and they’re not very optimistic that anything will be done. So much for customer loyalty and taking care of the customer and doing what’s right because it obvious that the damage was done by a golf ball.
Went there for our anniversary, very "football romatical" restaurant for the die hard sports fan! Everything was so delish!
The food was excellent and the staff treated us like family! The two things that make for a great dining experience!
First time my wife and I had ever gone to Shula’s steak house we wanted to try it because they were listed for miami spice 2019 the view of the golf course was great the food was impeccable the waiters name is mark was spot on the other waiters were also good we will definitely will be back .
My food was great. My dinning friend steak was not that great at all . She ordered the portor house cut. Expected better quality for steak at this place. Doubt Ill go back.
Excellant service along with mouth watering steaks of the highest quality. The tuna and shrimp appetizers were also fabulous, as was the shared lava cake dessert. A great dining experience
If I could give 0 stars I wouldThis place has gone straight downhillWent for mother’s dayThey said they were setting up our table but all the tables were already setThey promptly took our drink orders brought them and then no waiter came by for 30 minutes7-8 waiters running around not one cameThere was no bread either and we had to askLast 3 times were like thisDon’t come hereIt’s not the place it once was
Had a party in the private room, the staff was attentive, and the hors doeuvres they served were excellent. Not a place for vegans, tho.
The worst. Do not support this brand. Slow as hell. We sat for 30 minutes after we placed our order and then learned it had only been put in 10 minutes prior. “It was busy” our waitress said. Not true. The place wasn’t even half full. Our waitress also didn’t know that a dairy allergy includes butter. I’m sorry about whatever her background was and opportunities she didn’t have — but you are responsible for training your people. Do not support this brand. It should die a quiet death and be held accountable for it’s horrendeous brand experience.
Been here several times over the years for special occasions., the last time was a few years ago. Staff wasgreat, but I felt hurried to order the main course. Biggest disappointment was that food was served lukewarm and got cold very quickly., from potatoes to steak, Filet and rib eye were not as tender as expected, I make a better ceasar salad; the anchovies were tastless. For us there is nothing worst than cold food. Sorry to write this, but we were very excited to be going back, and left very disappointed.
Out of of all the steakhouses, Shula’s is the best. I love its food, ambience, lighting and the dragon. Unparalleled customer service provided by Armando, wich is my favorite, Rene, Hector and Roman. Prices are reasonable for the quality and size they offer. Valet parking but also plenty of spots for your own parking. Highly recommend.
Driest and toughest piece of steak I’ve had at a steakhouse. Had to send back the NY Strip and exchange for a filet mignon that was undercooked. Not what you’d expect from a steakhouse. The staff was nice about it though and that’s the only reason this wasn’t a one star review.
I took my friend there for his birthday. The staff had no personality they seemed to be bored. The steaks were good not worth the price. The mashed potatoes were bland it seemed the only thing that really had any flavor were the mushrooms. My friend had a glass of wine and there was no way that the amount poured was correct. We left there very disappointed and felt that the staff let the Shula name down.
Extremely dissappointed, from the time the server/ waiter approach was mediocre. As the dinner progress it was not any better. We were greeted by our waiter a lady who’s body gesture and the way she came across did not want to be there. We overlooked it as anyone can have a bad day... We were on important business negotiations with business partners. My husband and I were appalled that we had to actually ask for silver ware that weren’t replaced and the table was left unattended. This is what you are paying for the actual customer service beside the food...as the night came to end we were given our bill close to $300 and we submitted two $50 gift card 20$ in cash and the remainder to be charged on credit card. The sever came back in a loud voice and asked very annoyed that he couldn’t understand our method of payment and went on explaining what we had submitted. I was in complete shock and embarrassed that this person didn’t have the proper training to work in such a repretable place. As I’ve taken many times for lunch business partners and never had this treatment this server should have been working in a cafeteria instead of at SHULA’s. As a shula’s member, we like to support our town businesses and with great regret this will be the last time we take anyone to Shulas Steakhouse. What sets any business apart from the rest is how you treat CUSTOMERS.
The food was amazing and ALICIA, our server was the very BEST. THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM.You must order the filet mignon, also the scallops. You wont be disappointed.TRULY WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE!
It was good until we were told after ordering drinks and appetizers that if we stayed a the bar it would be 25.00 a person! Really your drinks are 16.00 at 4oz pour! And were spending 200.00 on appetizers and cocktails! So we paid our tabs and left! Its not a night club! Again just like 3 weeks ago at Shulas 2.. Not the same what the hell happened in Miami Lakes!!!? Super disappointed!! Never again! When my clients come into town Ill be placing them somewhere else!!
Steaks are tasty. Dinning room is not well lit.( Poor vision? Youre in trouble. Friendly staff.
Service was impeccable. Armando was an exceptional server and catered to our every need. Steak was cooked exactly how I like it. If you like steak, the miami dolphins and nice people, this is the place for you
Great ambiance and experience. 48 ounce porterhouse is a must have. (At least onceIt can be shared. You could get 2 24 ounce porterhouses, but the 48 ounce just has to be seen. Its a thing of beauty. It also comes with a signed photo of Coach Shula.
The service was goodHowever, the food was disappointing.I ordered the 22 ounce cowboy steak which was tough. My wife had the crab cakes, scallops, and filet. Just ok.The mushrooms were good, however not as good as the palm. The shula cut is their own grade. Most top steak restaurants have US government prime grade. The waiter said the shula cut is better then prime. However we were both disappointed in the quality of the beef.Additionally, most top steak restaurants offer dry aged beef. Shula only offers wet aged.It would be nice if shulas offered some dry aged prime beef even at a higher price point.
My Husbands favorite steak house ! The best meat !
This place is my favorite. My family come to eat at least once a month and we are never disappointed. Our server, Armando is great. Our food perfect. Value for what we received is on target.
Loved this place! Excellent steak selection and very knowledgeable staff. Atmosphere was very quiet and welcoming. Prices are what you expect from a nice steakhouse.
We had the pleasure of dining at Shulas in Miami Lakes on Friday night, August 3rd. It was my husband Steves birthday dinner. They had a special insert in the menu honoring his birthday! The food was superb, we love the nostalgic decor, and the service we terrific. We especially enjoyed talking to Wilburn. He was delightful and very attentive! He made sure we were well taken care of all evening. If you have a chance to dine here, we highly recommend it!
Filet mignon trio and potato gratin were incredible. I was expecting more from the ambience or more tables with a view. The house salad and cheesecake werent impressive.
$$$$ Very professional, and optimal service. High class atmosphere, al a Cart style menu, and waitresses that recognize proper etiquette mannerism. The building is gorgeous, luxerious oversized booths and high and low tables fit for family or partys of 20. The dinners where absolutely amazing, I was glad to get the opportunity to visit this place during my vacation. Definitely 5-Star dining!
This is regarding the Bull Pen which is the signal bar for the golf course. Ive eaten here many times and have always been satisfied. The chef here is excellent, and Ive never had a "sub-par" meal (pun intended!). The burger comes in several versions and all are great. The NY strip steak sandwich was excellent today as well. But I want to give a special thanks to our server and the chef for going the extra mile today. I ordered a BLT salad with blue cheese to share with a friend. I had forgotten she cant tolerate blue cheese till it arrived and she registered her dismay to me aloud. In an instant, the server whisked it away, and in less than 5 minutes a freshly made salad, with blue cheese on the side, was served to us, all with a smile. Thats service! Thanks, gentlemen. See you again soon!
Good food. The fish and esparagus were delicious. However too much intrusion by too many waiters, give no space to an intimate dinner.
Awesome steakhouse right next door to my hotel. For there too early as I didnt expect it to be closed just shortly before 6 pm. We had a drink in the bar and a few minutes later we got told to move over to the restaurant. Staff was incredible. Super friendly and we got an overview of all their cuts they have on a little cart the rolled out to our table. We placed our order and got the steaks exactly as ordered. The waiter came by many times to check on is if we need anything and to refill our water glasses. I was able to finish the 48oz porterhouse with ease and got congratulated by our waiter and he gave my a card to fill out to join the 48 club. I also got a photo from Don Shula and a postcard. Awesome.
Had the crab cake to start which was all giant lump crab, little filler. For dinner had the bone in filet, crab Mac n cheese and corn and all were delicious! Finished it off with the best key lime pie I’ve had and a decadent molten chocolate cake. Great food and service here!!!
I would rate the service as good. The appetizers calamari and shrimp cocktail were good. Steaks horrible quality for a steak house known for its steaks. The quality of the meat I would rate below choice. The order of roasted brussel sprouts were burned beyond recognition.
Honestly, if it was possible not to give this place any stars, I would. We got to the restaurant and immediately ordered our drinks and what we wanted because we were hungry. Among the items we ordered, there were at least 2 appetizers. That was the first time the server came to our table, the second time he brought our drinks and we asked him if he could bring out some bread or something to hold us over until the food came and he said he would and said that there was a party of 16 holding up the kitchen. Understood, not his fault. Probably 45 minutes later, all of the tables around us were getting their food, no bread was brought out, the server didnt even show face to apologize for how long it was taking. I get it that the kitchen was help up because of the large party but if theyre held up, how is it that the other tables are getting their food, or that you cant bring out a simple spinach and artichoke dip, which is an appetizer and should come out before the entrees anyways? or that you cant even bring out bread? The server tried to justify himself by saying that he told us there was a large party- that was his "apology." We ended up getting up and leaving. Huge disappointment, I would never recommend this place to anyone.
The food was mediocre but what made it worse was the service. I cant emphasize more that the service was horrible and the manager could care less that people complain. They had no service recover and the manager was an angry little man. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Save your money go somewhere else!!!
Great place and great service from Gelvis at the bar. However the last two times I’ve been there my steak has been over cooked. (Ordered medium and got medium wellYesterday is probably the last time I go to Shula’s
We went in for Happy Hour before an event over at the Hard Rock Stadium. So much football history here at the original Shulas Steak House. The 1972 undefeated Miami Dolphins team has a remarkable shrine in this very traditional restaurant. For Happy Hour there is a great selection of wines and cocktails, plus some bar bites. We had the shrimp and the blue cheese steak fries off of the HH menu, but we ordered mostly off of the regular restaurant menu.French Onion Soup is just okay, we have had better elsewhere.Grilled Asparagus, Roasted Corn, Bacon Wrapped Grilled Shrimp - all were great. Our star dish was the entree sized Scallops - they are huge, beautifully prepared, a winner.
The waiter was rude. The bread got to the table after the soup and salad. I asked for a second drink it never arrived. Very disappointed this is how great business go out of business.Dont mind paying...do expect service.
The food was fabulous and service was great! And, even with their computers going down and very busy she professionally handled the situation and gave us the final bill (which she had to hand write all of it)in a timely manner! Will always recommend Shulas!
We came here for my birthday and had an email offer for a free entree for the celebration. This location is in the Dolphin and valet is comped if you eat at Shulas. The restaurant was a little tough to locate as the hotel is massive. We were quickly sat for our 6:00 PM rez. The manager Joe greeted us and checked on us. Our waiter John was OUTSTANDING the entire experience and offered excellent choices and good advice. The menu is on a football and our daughter loves that! The steaks here are very good and our wedge salad was on point too. You really cant pick a bad piece of meat here! The lava cake dessert is a must do. Very nice wine list too. We will absolutely be back and we will always ask for John!
Not what I was expecting at all. I knew the place was a little dated, but expected the vibe, service and food to be OK, it was not. The food was eatable, but did not justify the price by any means. Appetizer or BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp was bland and heated in a microwave or high powered oven, they were not fresh nor freshly cooked. Chewy, and the bbq sauce tasted like Hienz. The steak was OK, no a $40 ribeye by any means. The side of asparagus had a drizzle of balsamic vinegar reduction to hide the poorly cooked veges. The service even at the bar took fooooreeeevvvvver even though we were 2 of 4 people there. Wont go back to waste money or time. Sorry, not sorry Shula. The place needs updating as does staff and the menu.
Went here with my fiance and had good food but horrible, horrible service. We made a reservation for our anniversary, and they called for confirmation and specifically asked about whether we were coming for a special occasion... Not sure why since they didnt acknowledge it at all. The steak presentation was pointless since they just listed the steaks, and our server seemed annoyed at our presence. We maybe saw our server for three minutes in the two hours we spent waiting for our food, even though it was not busy whatsoever (not an exaggeration). Food was good (the steaks were especially great), but not even close to similar establishments such as Ruths Chris or Charleys. At almost two hundred dollars excluding apps or dessert, just plain not worth it.
The meat was burned . Not good not worth the money . Want good steak dont go here . No entries come with sides everything is paid for separate. And I could barely understand what the waiters say. They can barely speak English..
