Shrimp Boat Cherry Road in Rock Hill

If I could give this place one star I would. This place made me and my mother absolutely sick. We both got two calabash shrimp dinners and one order of fried mushrooms and we dined in. Food was great at first but 30 mins later we both had cramps, bubbling stomachs and non-stop diarrhea. If you are elderly please do not waste your money on this place. I know a lot of elders do frequent this place but really its not worth getting sick over. My mother is severely dehydrated at the moment now. Ive got constant sweats and diarrhea as well.

Everything was hot a fresh out the grease waitress checked on me several times and was very helpful and nice will return there again on my next trip always good to meet good people and good food when ur away from home Im a truck driver

Ordered porkchops the breading was falling off and it was tough....fries are never good

When ever I go to Rock Hill I love eating there

I ordered a seafood dinner and when I got my food it was chicken. I guess the person up front gave me wrong order. Then I used my gas to take it back. This was a 15 minute drive 2 and from. I watch the girl take a bag to the back which I assumed was the chicken it wasnt it was what I ordered and when I got home it was cold. Who wants cold food especially scallops they get rubber as well as shrimp if you reheat. I threw away. I was not using more gas for foolishness. I do no recommend to any one. I am going to share experience on face book. $17 WASTED!

Food was good;freshly prepared (just b4 closing time)

I ordered 2 Dinners for me and my brother. The fish was like warm, and the Fries were just dropped back in the Vat to reheat. They were very greasy, and taste as though they been sitting for awhile. The waitress were fantastic, nice, went out here way to take care of us. She is the only reason I will come back there. The next time I will make sure they drop everything, I dont mind waiting at all. Quality and friendliness is what keeps customers coming back, when you disregard one of those, you are hurting your business. Managers watch the quality of your product that is going over the counter.

Man, Ive been looking for good fried chicken since I moved to NC and every placed failed miserably. But I happened to be in Rock Hill yesterday and tried this place and boy oh boy the fried chicken is DELICIOUS. I mean its well seasoned, not dried up on the inside but still moist, prefect crisp, etc...... Id definitely eat here again when I stop in SC. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Great scallops and hush puppies the rest of my food was good

This was my first time going there and I paid almost $17 for a 3 piece fried flounder fillet plate for the slaw to be nasty and the hushpuppies to be almost burnt, they were very dark and extremely hard. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

The fried chicken is always wonderful. My favorite is the chicken sandwich and fries. I have been eating from the Shrimp Boat since I was a kid and it always top notch.When they say "Aint no Chicken like Shrimp Boat" they aint lying.

The food is terrific! I love the chicken here I always ask for extra seasoning and fried hard. Staff very friendly.

Terrible,just terrible! The food was super small portions and for the amount of money we paid quantity and quality is expected. However, the service was good and extremely pleasant. But the food left much to be desired. Will not be ordering again until the quality and quantity is upgraded.

Love getting there when they first open. Chicken so fresh and hot. Bring your patience, they are short staffed like everyone else

Oh my goodness yall! This place is the BEST! The chicken is so crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Perfectly seasoned! The seafood platter is delish with the tastiest deviled crab and crispy flakey fish. But yall, those hushpuppies are to die for! Im a Southerner so Ive had my share of hushpuppies and these are addictive. I swear I would order them by their selves with some of that tangy tartar sauce! Hey dont ask me where I want to eat because you know my answer is always going to be Shrimp Boat on Cherry Road!

Horrible paid 15.25 for a seafood platter. Got 1 piece of fish 3 shrimp 3 hush puppies 1 scallop a deviled crab and some fries. It was not good at all I will never go back.

I love the pork chops. Shrimp is great too. Not really sure how people can say it’s the best chicken anywhere. The chicken has no seasoning at all it seems. I’ve tried at least three times and it was the same every time. If you like your chicken with no seasoning then this is the chicken for you.

Waited 20 mins for this. Spent 27.44. For the Manager to hang up on me.

The bad...Salt n pepper catfish was horrible!!!! Hush puppies were grease soaked / looked like they were left under a heat lamp with the limp, slightly warm French fries. Cole slaw tasted horrible. Restaurant was nasty/ dirty / Un kept. The good.... Staff kindly switched out the catfish for chicken....Go for the chicken if you go!!! Kind / friendly staff. Two stars...1 for the chicken, 1 for the chicken 🐔

Always professional and polite when I come in here. I had a door dash order here and ordered some hush puppies while I waited. Always good!

The people before me who wrote any reviews on how GOOD this food is, obviously does not like seasoning or flavor in their food! Fried Cat fish- mushy, not crispy at all, fried shrimp is out of a box fried chicken wings must be cornish hen wings. I am giving them 2 stars for the great service from the lady in the dinning room.If you dont like seasoning and have bad teeth, this is the place for you.

I absolutely love this fried chicken! Mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and wings cant be beat...oh yeah the onion rings are hand cut and breaded!!! Makes me miss my granny and her home cooking!

I ordered a porkchop dinner and I did not enjoy it. I can say they did cook me two other pieces to try to satisfy me. However, I was still dissatisfied. Please make sure the grease is hot before dropping any meat in the grease.

Best fried chicken in Rock Hill. This location needs a major restroom upgrade. The restrooms remind me of an old gas station from the 1960s. Nasty.

I have never had anything from shrimp boat except for the chicken. I tried the shrimp and fish and fried mushrooms. The fish was not bad it could’ve used more seasoning but the shrimp was totally frozen shrimp it was mushy and I could tell it was out of a box or a bag with a little freezer burn. I am going to guess and say that the mushrooms were also frozen because they were watery. I am disappointed that they would use frozen, not even good frozen food. I could’ve did that at home. They give you a lot of food and I know why now. Best believe it won’t happen again I will not be going back.

So good! Eat here often, we love the managers special to go! Only thing I wish is the rolls were different, not our family’s favorite but chicken and sides are always delicious!

I ordered a flounder plate and the fish was not crispy it was limp. The fries were dark as may have been used in old grease. I don’t know. But it’s different from what I have experienced at the Lancaster Shrimp Boat. The food is fresh and GOOD. The waitress Angie is sweet and the cook Bobby is funny and make you laugh.

Hadnt had a good laugh in a while, but after reading all the "lowest reviews" on here, WOW! One woman said she waited 2 hrs. for her food...Really? 2 whole hours... What person would wait 2 hrs.? Liked the one that read: Fed my "take out" to the town stray dog, pray for the dog! Somebody over in Lancaster, at the Shrimp Boat, please get some seasoning over there quick! They are out! Thanks Shrimp Boat for the laughs!

I was really expecting more from a place called the Shrimp Boat. I believe their calling card is the chicken which I did not try. The fries were good, the battered they use was fair to midland, the fish was overcooked and came with the skin, the Shrimp and scallops were gummy, indicative of frozen product. The sweet tea was good as well as the hushpuppies and service was delightful.

Food is good, service is terrible. It is best to call your order in. My visit was a horrible experience. I ordered 1 plate, the restaurant was packed of people waiting on orders. I waited 25 minutes 😩. Finally I went to ask what taking so long ? The girl looked and placed a plate in the bag and handed it to me. No apologies or anything. Just rudeness. I get down the road, my food was almost cold! I was too frustrated to return. So I am guessing that the food was ready and sitting and they never called 🤔 out to give my order and if they did call out it was at a very low tone. I sat right in front close to the door. SMH cashiers need training. This is what causes customers like me not to return. Foid was good even though it was luke warm but not worth the rudeness and the wait.

Used to be my favorite place for chicken im done with them after tonight. Half chicken all white meat was always 2 breast and two wings. I get it home its one breast and three small wings, the fries were cold and greasy i called out there and the girl said thats how it is now the chicken qas also way to salty

My last 3 visits here wasnt Great!#1 Chicken size gets smaller every visit#2 Chicken prices skyrocketed I was paying $9 now I pay $14 for the same thing#3 The best employee no longer worksHere anymore ! I am starting to dislike this place I drive from Charlotte NC to rock hill SC to shrimp boat with my wife,.............

They are incredible and the food is Phenomenal!!!!! Lord I wish we had one back home. The people their are so very sweet and they show so much hospitality and love, they make you smile and laugh at the same time. I cant wait to go back. I Over Love Rock Hill!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💕💕💕

I loved my visit here. I miss the cherry soda but my tea was just right. The chicken was served fresh and hot. The hostess has a beautiful spirit. She talked to everybody. Should have taken a picture but it was too good. Enjoyed. Definitely will be going back

I ordered chicken wings. They were not cooked all the way😳🥺🤬😤. I had to drive back from Charlotte to get my money back. I opened the box and opened 2 wings. Cashier didn’t look surprised and offered to get more. I looked in the back to see who can’t thoroughly cook chicken wings?? Young people probably related to the owner. No hair nets, no mask, touching food with bare hands. Was horrific. I went in last year, entire cooking staff looked to be my age range, 50 years old. Food was great back then. I need to know when that shift works.

The service was friendly. I got my food in a timely manner. And it was delicious! Price was fair. Ill definitely dine here more often.

Busy at the top of the lunch hour on the takeout side of things. Only saw 1 family of 2 in the dining room. The smells coming out of this place will make your mouth water and have you overlook the fact that the property needs a good litter-pickup and pressure-washing outside in the parking area. Efficient staff behind the counter and in the kitchen keeps things moving.

Aint no chicken but a shrimp boat chicken! Love this place. The chicken is the best!
