Shrek 4-D - Amusement park ride in Orlando, United States
Unfortunately this long running gem ends this weekend. 3D and motion seating combined for a fun immersive experience.
8 month old didnt enjoy the water sprays (spoiler alertotherwise it was fun.
It is a 3-D movie theater with rumble seats, water effects, ect. Its what your expect from a shrek video. Only complaint are the seats. They jolt and make hissing noises from the pneumatics.
This is a great family friendly ride.
This ride was a lot of fun for the whole family. The wait time was much shorter than some of the other 4d rides. The story was unique but still a reliable Shrek story. The comedy was funny for the adults and the children loved the chase. Our youngest was nervous with all the fake spiders but we found it very enjoyable!
This one was my favorite ride lol I will go again and again. It’s so much fun just watching Shrek and now the 4D! Are you kidding?I loved it and I do recommend to go for this ride
Been going to this attraction since I was a kid. Sad to see it go next month, but always had a great experience.
Dated attraction with old technology. Tyme for a total refurbishment. Old seats with jerky movement. This park has so much more to offer.
I really enjoyed Shrek 4-D. It was interactive and entertaining. At first I was uncertain and told my family I would wait outside. Im glad I decided to go in. Would definitely recommend.
The best part about this ride is leaving it. The first time you go on it, it is a 3-star attraction. I wouldn’t recommend going on it than once, unless you like back pain. The chair “motion” is jarring and uncomfortable, the jokes in the waiting area are stale, and the 4D effects are fine, but pretty lame. The chairs make this horrible noise every time they move. It wouldn’t be worth it to ride with no wait, let alone a 20-40 minute one. The film itself is decent, but not worth the terrors of the rest of the ride. Easily one star.
Aweful!!!!!!! Long line just to be put in a dark room with some employee constantly saying move on in no open spaces! 15 min wait once inside to listen to a dumb dialog. Once in the 4d theater, its a 20 min fail. Worst attraction hands down.
The best 4D experience of Universal!! The pre-show including the Shrek characters (Pinocchio, 3 Pigs, Gingy, Magic Mirrorwas amazing too!! Overall, the entire attraction was amazing and epic‼️📸‘s taken on 7/21/2018
A true cinematic masterpiece. The shreks-caliber of rides. This circular price of wonder is the best zuggerat Ive ever been to. 10/10 place of worship, would recommend
Shrek himself and the movie they show are great, but the movement and special effects are incredibly outdated. The chairs moving are loud, jarring, and uncomfortable. If you have any back problems avoid this attraction at all costs. If they simply turned off the movement and used only the movie, the mist and water, and the visual effects, this could be a pleasant and funny attraction. But its mostly just an unpleasant waste of time. If you want a 3D motion ride, I highly recommend going on Jimmy Fallon Race through New York instead, which is funnier, newer, has less grossout humor, and is a very smooth and pleasant experience.
Not really worth the time, since the video that is shown in the attraction has been put on Netflix. Just watch it at home, shake your seat around a bit and spray yourself with a bit of water, you can experience this show at home
As a big Shrek fan I like the show and the waiting room experience . However I didnt know that the seats were going to move and the back of the seats in front of me kept banging into my knees.
They interrupted the middle of the show to remind people to cover their face with their mask... way to ruin the experience Universal Studios! You hold people at 6ft spacing upon entrance to an attraction, but the exits are a stampede through a gift shop! This madness has to stop.
DO NOT GO ON THIS, MASSIVE WASTE OF TIME. Even if the line is 10 minuets do not waste time go else where. I have seen and like all the shrek movies but this was garbage. We waited for 2 hours expecting something at least marginal then ended up with a poorly times blurry bad storyline of a show it made me uncomfortable honestly. If you want good ride suggestion is suggest the following: revenge of the mummy haggrids magical creature ride or harry potter and the forrbiden jurny. Now those are all great rides.if you go on shrek you will be majorly disappointed.
First time here, ride was cool. Seats didnt move half the time so it ruined the experience. Last few seats in row 8. Disappointed.
I like sitting not standing that is why I dont want to stand up for 30 mins, in that time they retold the whole story. Says 4-D even though nothing popped out (boring throughout movie I think that it should be more like 2-D, because I only saw outlines of the characters. The chair movements were horrible, they jerked at the wrong times. Also, the sound quality was terrible all I heard was pft pft pft. Needs to be replaced.Dont go on this ride unless you are 7 years or under.
The line was long but could have been avoided if they got rid of the lengthy introduction in the room before you enter the main room. I will add that "Sam" the employee was rude and obnoxious. He yelled at me for smoking when it was really the man next to me who was smoking. The man and me had a good laugh at Sams expense. Upon leaving, Sam thought he was the center of attention with his stupid actions. Oh, well, at least his mother loves him. LOL
Staff, please check the video quality of the attraction. The video was blurry for both me and my husband so the problem is most likely not in the glasses. I love the attraction, but needs quality improvement. The line was long, but it moved fast, as its like a movie theater inside with lots of seats.
A decent idea, which a few years ago would have been considered state of the art, but today it seems out of date. They try to make it more interesting with a back-story presentation at the beginning, but this is overly long and had little to do with the actual attraction.Inside, there is a 3D film and seats which tilt, shake and vibrate in line with what is happening in the film. The small kids in the room seemed to enjoy it, but anyone over 10 is likely to find it dull.Queues are also quite long on this attraction.
Worst thing in the park. Old "motion" chairs that just shake, jar, and yank you around. The image is terrible. Maybe you have to be in a specific seat to get the 3D effects. All I got were blurry, double images for the most part. Story is boring and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
Not great at all if youre not a kid. Also like others have said where I was sitting the 3D was atrocious, could just see double and nothing popped out, made me feel sick! Just boring throughout, definitely needs to be replaced!
A good place to hide out from the sun! The show is cute and the workers are really nice. About a 40 minutes between waiting and show. The giftshop has lots of Shrek merch!
Worst ride we went on in the park. Jerky seats and the 3D is appalling.Might have been because we were sat to the side but anything that popped out or moved looked blurry. Also shrek itself hasn’t been relevant for years. Poor and long queues
Very fun "4D" show that typically has a shorter line, a great way to get out of the Florida heat on crowded park days. Features a lot of the clever humor from the movies.
I like it. Its cool. Fun lead-in... good experience interacting with the show. Not my favorite... but still a must see. If youre in line... place yourself somewhere in the middle and try to end up center row, center room.
Always loved this show. Gives me serious nostalgia and coming back now as an older teen I still like it and thats a difficult feat to accomplish. Overall great and a much shorter line than Minions had.
I had very high hopes but were shattered once the ride started. The chairs are not comfortable and 4 D effect makes sitting in those rock hard chair makes the experience unpleasant. Random jerks and shaking which does not synchronize with the show. Luckily the wait was not bad. We were in line for 15-20 mins they express line. I would skip this ride unless you have lot of time to kill.
4D cinema style ride, which isnt bad, but not that good either. I wouldnt queue very long for this, but if theres no queue then give it a go, if all else fails at least your taking the weight off your feet for a few minutes!
I did not like this as much as other rides.dunno why the waiting time is always higher here. (cause of kids? ). You basically just sit and watch a 3D movie for 10 or 15 minutesfirst They take people into the attraction in large groups in a room where they tell a story about Shrek and Fiona. pain part was all these 20 minutes we were standing.then they took us to a big hall with 50-70 chairs. You are in a movie theater style room with moving seats, its not like other rides with simulation. you ll get 3d glass and movie ll be starting like a typical movie theatre. like how Shrek saved his wife Fiona with help of a donkey. Chair shakes and vibrates in sync with movie, bumped up and down in your seat. thats it. my wife slept in between. lol.when dragon snizzes you get water or smells sprayed at you. The movie was funny enough to keep me engaged but it really needed a few more special effects.Overall, the experience was not that top notch especially when you have already ridden transformers Simpsons and F&F.Rating - 4/10
Super crowded in the waiting room and we had to wait forever. Then you could barely hear the beginning show because people were talking. We were expecting a ride, but it was just a movie with some special effects. Not worth the wait.
I love Shrek and all the movies, just not this "ride" I fell asleep halfway through because I was tired. I would also sleep right through it if I wasnt tired. Time to change this one up, Universal!
This is not a ride. Its a movie theater with 4k experience. The seat jerks and shoots water just like a 4d movie theater. Very annoying when the seat jerks non stop. I really hope we could turn that off.
Basically the Shrek 3D short thats available on DVD, but with some simple augmented reality added. Fun for the kids, which is why I was amazed it was so stupidly loud. Seriously the loudest thing we did today. There are more amazing rides in the park but for kids who are Shrek fans, this is a good one, if you have earplugs.
Worst ride in the park. Not fun. It would have just been more relaxing without the stupid seats shaking. Its a waste of time.
This ride is terrible and even my girlfriends 7 year old son hated this ride. I wouldnt go on it if it didnt have a wait and the fact that we waited 45 minutes for this only makes me feel like it was a complete waste. You sit in a big theatre where the chairs move, and honestly the graphics are really bad.
Really nice 4D movie experience ride for the family. The theatre holds hundreds of guests and they have two theaters running during the busy season to make for a short line experience. No food or drinks allowed on this ride. 3D glasses are provided for this experience.
They take people in to the attraction in large groups, so you are waiting for 30 minutes in a long line and then the line gets cut in half. The ride itself, well let me just say that the most thrilling part is when something touches your leg. You are in a movie theater style room with moving seats, but some of the seats are disfunctional so they hardly move at all. With young kids it would be fine, but dont wast your time going on it by yourself.
A moderately good attraction. It doesn’t compare well with the other attractions at the park. The 4D effects are cool, but I don’t feel it does Shrek justice
Dont wait more then 20 minutes for this. It actually takes about a half hour once youre inside for the experience. Its cute for kids, but I couldve skipped this and been ok. I like the Shrek movies but this was just a bit extra for me. 4D experience was pretty cool - never had that before!
Wasnt too great, was nice to see a new Shrek mini feature. But other than that, the crowd werent listening to the instructions and the special effects didnt seem to fit well with the movie.
Not bad. Your basic 4d. Water, something poking your back, etc. Just ok
This should have been great but.... it was a bit old and the shaking seats were bordering on painful rather than an enjoyable part of the show. Only go on this if youre a die hard fan.
Dont bother.Wait times are bad as is the queuing system. Just when you think you are going to be seated you are packed into a room where there is a sequence involving the 3 little pigs which lasts for at least five minutes and is boring. If you have kids, unless you lift them, they will not be able to see what is going on as the room is quite tightly packed. It may have been impressive when it first opened but it is a boring 4D movie that is lazily written, predictable and contains next to no laughs.
This ride was good in its day, but now tries too hard to be a 4D ride. Lots of pointy things in 3D and dated lighting effects on the walls either side of the screen.
I love shrek 4-D in universal orlando for being such a fun classic original ride. It has great workers and a awesome decent priced gift shop. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
This ride ranks on my least favorite list when it comes to Universal rides. The show at the beginning is way too long and unnecessary, and the actual ride isnt anything new. I love Shrek but I always avoid this ride. The gift shop is packed with unique Shrek merchandise which is a positive though
