Absolute brilliant we had a fantastic time over the weekend at the Shortts Bar Brighton DJ-ing, MASSIVE Thank you To the management and all the bar staff for looking after us so kindly. We are locals from peacehaven and know the Shortts Bar Brighton very well and we "Highly Recommend" Going to Shortts Bar Brighton, for a great evening/ night out.... Definitely 5 Star βββββ from me.Looking forward to going back asap
Brilliant night of rock n rollCant believe Ive never stepped in before! The hillmans and the headliners(name I cant remember atm)
I pass this place everyday and had no idea how cool it was inside till I got invited to a Saturday all-dayer here featuring Soul music, a pop-up clothes shop and a full-spectrum of people. In all, this is what a venue should be with community at the heart.
Great bar, friendly staff and punters. Good choice of beer, nice wine and food (South African, which was refreshingly different). I didnt venture to the beer garden so cant comment but I enjoyed the live music
We had been to a concert and was told it shut at 12 but there had been a incident in the road, when we got in the barman said he was so sorry that had to shut at 11, that was no problem still had time for a couple of drinks and a great chat with the barman who was so helpful, sorted out a cab for us, and it was only 45 minutes but enjoyed the music that was bring played, great bar.
A proper lively pub / venue with friendly staff and a friendly up for it crowd, happy to dance around tables and generally have a good laugh. They have regular dance music sessions on Friday and Saturday nights.Well worth checking out.
Loved it. Cool drinkers pub. Hospitality excellent
Great bar with an awesome open mic on Thursday evenings! Excellent choice of beers, wines and spirits at decent prices for Brighton. Friendly, efficient service with many characters ti chat to. Highly recommended π
Brilliant cosy bar. Plenty of room. Went to a music gig on Friday night. Good atmosphere.
Love it! Its really friendly and accepting. An amazing garden too. π
Amazing atmosphere.. Lovely stuff.. and fantastic live music..
popped into the shortt,s pub while on holiday, really friendly staff , a great little beer garden , no complaints only praise, thank you π
Smashing little pub with the warmest welcome. We were only passing through but the bartender, (might be called Nick?could not have been friendlier. Made us really welcome and couldnt do enough to accommodate us. Never seen a harder working more attentive barman. Nice selection of drinks on tap, friendly atmos and cosy beer garden. If we lived local this would be our local. Highly recommend.
Friendly, π friendly. Good pub in Kemp Town π
Great staff and garden live mic on Thursdays and djs at weekend
Cracking pub with a great beer garden. The bar staff are brilliant, going out of their way to create a table for us in a better location purely because the sun had come out and thought we would prefer somewhere in the sun. Couldnt recommend the place and excellent service more.
Genuinely amazing service, the owner made a personal effort to move us to a better table in the sun and kept us updated on the status of the chef, which ensured we had a great experience in the sun. Great food and drink in prompt service
I love this place! Ive been there busy, quiet, mid eat out / to help out, every kinda way of living and every time without fail it has been great! Im used to top level service - within my work etc and they have always been up to par! Which is rare! Recommend highly!
LOVE it here! The bar manager/staff are lovely and the food is amazing. Would highly recommend.
Lovely pub, nice outdoor seating area, great customer service from staff and doorman
Nice bar with a dartboard, friendly staff, decent range of beer and a quality beer garden too.
Always have a great time here, great music venue, lovely staff and fantastic foodπ
Friendly and great open mic night, could do with a facelift and some comfy chairs but really enjoyed the music, thank you to musician Joe Rivers and the pub team!
First time visit & live locally. Nick the bar mgr was so attentive & professional. I am very picky wth my drink orders bt service was excellent & Megan also kept up the friendly, spot on service. Singer Jennie Castell was on who was brilliant. She sang to the mood as it changed she was so good to almost read the audience mind on what we wanted her to sing.what a g8 nite thanku
Only been in a couple of times, had a couple of beers with my son, everyone was friendly, the bar staff were attentive, atmosphere was ok, but it was quiet in the afternoon
Such a great place, the bartender Matt brings the pub to life. Always provides service with a smile. Best bartender in Brighton by far
The superb team at Shortts continue to serve up incredible Sunday roasts, accompanied by a whole host of delicious veg and sides. A good location and with a nice yard, though sadly not much of a view, Id recommend this place to anyone -- regardless of diet choices or needs.
Nice old pub with wooden floor boards Excellent draught beer and reasonably priced for Brighton. I believe they regularly have live weekend music
Great bar we absolutely loved it this is our local and we dont even live in Brighton we travel all the way from the outskirts of Brighton. They do food during the day we havent eaten there but I have heard people saying it is very good. The staff are friendly and there is often live music on in the evening I think there is every night to be honest with you.The landlady is delightful and the prices are reasonable fantastic we love you shortts
Stumbled on this little gem yestersay and spent the majority of our weekend in here. A Dublin landlady who is really friendly and helpful. Great beer. Great staff crew. Great entertainment. Sunday roast was excellent too. Will defo return on my next visit to Brighton.
Simply the best roast dinner in Brighton... Consistently good served with an additional plate containing a separate cauliflower cheese, huge Yorkshire Pudding and extra gravy....lovely selection of vegetables....do yourself a favour and try this place...you wont be disappointed!!!!
The vibe in here was lovely, all the dΓ©cor was very cool. There are posters on the ceiling that date back to the 70s. Staff are very friendly and there is live music every night! Making this place our new local without a doubt.
Having gone to 55 pubs in the forsf year I moved to Brighton and Hove, I missed coming to Shotts. Came here to specifically taste their burger as there is a lack of reviews of pub burgesb IN Kemptown. Im using Big Bro burger which is the best in Brighton IMHO. The plate with its trimmings came with clean presentation. The fries were crunchy and spicy mayo dip delicious. The Cole slaw was tasty, reckon most are made with a tad more mayo than I like. Still I finished it. Now the burger which came on soft sesame bun. I would have liked it to be juicier. It had a good taste to it nevertheless. I like my burger to have the mayo, onions, ketchup on it. May be worth to request it in the future. On scale of 5 with BB being a 5, I would give it a 3.5. Pub wise this is one of the more spacious and chilled pubs in Kemptown to do a bit of work or chill with mates. Bar staff pleasant. Will come back to check out the music.
What a great spot! We wandered in at the end of our evening out on the way back to our hotel - live music blaring, short wait to get a drink too. The band were fantastic hence this review! (20.4.18)
Really nice place to enjoy drinks and pub food. Friendly and helpful staff. Good looking interior with a nice fireplace.
Great choice of wine....beers....really friendly atmosphere and staff soooo welcoming...and apparently the best guiness in town.
I like this pub. I really like the landlady she is funny. She lets my dogs wander about.Lovely log fire and no one hogs it...unlike other pubs. The bands are good but wish they would sing something more modern and not Stevie Wonder all the time.Good atmosphere ππ»
this place has really perked up under new management and total refurb! its a lovely place with a sunny garden in the back. very friendly staff, good food and lots of live music. π
Really nice bar. Gone with work a couple of times. The outside area is lovely and very cosy. The toilets could be better (small and not so tidy). Other than that I like this place. Will be going back here.
