Shorefield Holidays - Holiday park in Ferndown, United Kingdom
very pleasant staff. Decent facilities. Nice outdoor pool and atmosphere in the summer.
It was amazing plenty to do places to go really friendly staff very polite entertainment was absolutely amazing fantastic defo go there again xx
Another fantastic break, absolutely love this place. Lovely dog friendly place, reception staff were very helpful and friendly as were the bar Staff, will definitely be back soon.
Stayed 5 nights 15th to 20th August. Beautiful Hern forest near by but caravan was ant ridden and hadnt been cleaned (sweet wrappers and dog hair around)! Found a dried layered lump of sugar in the back of one of the kitchen cupboards just a night before we left!!! We were handed ant repellent and on the second day the wonderful Dennis steam mopped the floor for us👍 The facilities were over booked and was impossible to get seats for the evening entertainment bingo etc until after about 9.15 pm. Need to show the entertainment pass on your phone even to buy a glass of coke! Queues for the swimming pool, etc. Felt like we really over paid. Twin beds in caravan not for adults or older kids. They are very very narrow!
Nice location, park has a good selection for the kids, but not loads and the park is quite small.
Excellent site. Our lodge was very clean and well equipped. Staff are all very friendly, chatty and happy.Site is well equipped clean and tidy.
There was 5 of us for our 50th Girlies birthday weekend, the site was lovely and clean, the staff in reception were fab! We had a drink in the club house was a little expensive but hey your on holiday! We also played the crazy golf which was good for an hours fun and laughter. The Caravan was clean and tidy but I do think that they could do a bit of a clean on the areas that you cant see all the time like under the sofas and beds,we only went looking as we kept loosing the ping pong balls when we were playing a party game. The site was nice and tranquil and the hot tub was great if like us you just want a chilled weekend away.We will be back next year!
Lovely park in a beautiful setting. Caravan clean and had everything we needed. Didnt participate in any activities apart from one evening. Food in Acorn Cafe was disappointing. Only big negative was caravan being right under an oak tree which was shedding its acorns. These dropped continously day and night making such a noise on our roof.
Amazing place to stay very clean, facilities are excellent, staff are there for all your questions, dog friendly which is great,We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended 😀
Having stayed at both would recommend staying at their sister company( Shorefield Country Park less than 20 miles away
Lovely site, nice facilities. Friendly staff, great little arcade takes me back to my childhood, my granddaughters love it. We have been 6 times this year. I would recommend booking direct through shorefields, rather than Hoseasons, its cheaper and if you encounter a problem shorefields dont fob you off they deal with it. Its great place for families 👪 💙
We had a 3 bedroom lodge with hot tub it was well presented a lovely park and would go there again facilities for children entertainment shop restaurant.
Had a great visit here when out of season ao it was quite and we were able to enjoy the facilities without being over crowded caravan was slightly on the small side but we managed it was comfortable
Myself & my sister and brother in law, stayed in privately owned caravan, and had a wonderful time their, and would recommend Oakdene Forest Park to anyone, who wants a quiet site, but has got every thing you need for a lovely holiday, we will be definitely be going back,
Lovely holiday park with great facilities, perfect for a break we used hurnforestlodge.co.uk for our break and the lodge was amazing the kids loved it,The entertainment and restaurant were faultless and food was nice and reasonably priced, theres a pool inside and outside and we even had use of the Gym thats also in the main building, onsite laundrette and convience store and they even have an escape room experience and crazy golf, didnt realise until the day we left that they even have an onsite delivery for food if you didnt fancy venturing out.The site is impeccably clean and we would recommend a holiday here for all the family.
As expensive as a haven holiday site for all drinks and the shop prices are like a theme park, with £1.90 for a 500ml bottle of drink..Despite this, the staff were friendly, helpful, the one girl doing all the entertainment and bingo was fabulous and got everyone involved.
Set in a nice environment away from road noise with a good sized forest area to go for a long walk. The pools were nice as was the arcade area.
Its a nice, place neat and tidy.we got given a weekend away by a friend but we didnt get the booking code so were denied a meal. so went hungry the first night as the little shop on site was closed.to order drink was a mission as signal to download the app was poor.over all was nice but wouldnt go again unfortunatly.
Great facilities, good location, modern mobiles,.Only thing worthy of comment, poxy speed ramps, even going at slower than walking pace, our car grinds out, not nice, if youve a bad back.
Conveniently situated, nice enough pool. Great for short forest walks and rides.
A fantastic caravan site. Our caravan was immaculate and the grounds well maintained. Brilliantly placed for travelling to the New Forest and Bournemouth
Stayed in caravan for 4 days during heatwave. Nice and clean caravan based near all amenities. No problems with anything and great WiFi. Will go again next year.
Back from an amazing week. Great facilities, superb staff and lovely food. Will definitely be back
This site is really no different to any other site, its dog friendly...there were dogs EVERYWHERE there is access to the forest with great walks but sadly there was "those" dog owners who allowed their dogs off the lead when it clearly states on a very large sign that all dogs must be on a lead and then there was the other sort of owners who didnt clear up after their dogs.... the swimming pools were great until the big kids who were unsupervised turned up, thank god for the life guards ,the food area was very restricted on its choice and very expensive but for an odd treat it was OK the kids entertainment was really only for the small children but the ax throwing day off site that my son and his children went on was fantastic and worth every penny, activities for children on site was £15 per child we had 9 with us so we didnt use the activities, everything was very expensive, we have actually decided to go on an all inclusive abroad next year as it works out a lot cheaper which is a really sad statement, this site really is lovely for small children especially if your not bothered about staying up for the evening entertainment, the site itself is beautifully kept and had some beautiful lodges on but watch out for the speed humps they are brutal and when the sun was low and in your face you cant actually see them until you have hit it !! We made some great memories on Bournemouth beaches they are beautiful and because there are so many of them they werent packed we had plenty of space for us all to spread out. We wont go back to this site but to be honest we have never come across a site that we have wanted to go back to, this site is ideal is ideal for disabled users.
The chalet was privately owned and was well presented. The resort, however, was a disappointment. It is marketed as a holiday centre but is in fact a residential estate. Every available space is occupied by a cabin with no leisure space other than the 12 feet or so to the next van. The first thing you see is the marketing area for cabin sales. The central building that houses the pool, restaurant and evening venue was over subscribed in the evening and the pool was murky and cold. Overall , not a place I intend to visit again nor recommend to others.
Sensation caravan was spotless upon arrival. Comfortable and modern. Felt new actually. We took our dog so was in pet friendly accommodation.Park has loads of activities, which you pre book on the app. Very clean and tidy park all round. Caravans are cleverly positioned so although ofcourse you can see neighbouring accommodation, you’re not looking out of your windows into the neighbours windows. Good parking. Quiet park and no rowdy behaviour. Felt very safe.WiFi very good and free.Staff are very friendly and helpful. My son exchanged his arcade tokens for some ear phones and thought they were faulty. The lovely lady in the tokens shop set them up for him. They were not faulty. Thank you so much!
Beautiful caravan park, clean tidy and staff are very welcoming.
The pricier accommodation is larger but still very basic with no additional "luxuries". Youre just paying for a bit more space and decking. Inside very clean but outside was filthy with lots of cobwebs and dirt.
Was a hassle from the minute we arrived. The Key didnt work, apantly it was the wrong key. Called reception and left message but noone got back to me so had to go to reception. Then no info on anything, swimming times, food times etc. Was told I would receive an email with the passes but nothing was sent. Was reluctantly give a temporary email with passes but still no information on anything at all.
Fantastic place staff so friendly and helpful. Bar prices are London prices so expensive, food not brilliant. But would go back again as really central to other places
I didnt go for a holiday but to view a lodge for sale there. It was immaculate over all the site, the staff were very friendly and helpful I would imagine a holiday there would be fun
Stayed for 1 week with excellent facilities, although did state dog friendly only one small area for dog.
its quite a track away from the beaches, low score ,It is mainly on greed a pint of shandy and a packet of monster munch £6.20. the shop prices was excruciatingly expensive. Some items was two to three times the price. Of a supermarket, Do yourself a favour and go lidls
#FANTASICWe have had a really lovely time, food & all the staff were all greatWould definitely recommend staying here especially if you can hire a lodge like we did. Ours was out of this world!!!!Since weve been home we have re- booked another stay in the same lodge for October this year & this time we are taking our cockerpoo Loki with us. Theres plenty of walks for him ,which he will love Regards to the owners of the lodge Keith & Tracy from us both xxx
Absolutely fantastic little holiday with the family, beautiful scenery, fantastic, immaculately clean caravans, caravans include all cutlery, plates, bowls, cooking utensils, fridge/ freezer, bedding and pillows, TV and free wi-fi. No towels, however the option to rent them is available for a small fee. On site shop, entertainment, swimming pools, sauna room, gym and arcade. I must say, the entertainment staff were absolutely incredible for our family visit, options to sign up for activities daily (we done slime making and pottery paintingwith all 3 children (3,9,10also an on site play park too. I have to add, there is a restaurant on site that also deliver to your caravan aswell. 5 star rating from us. Brilliant time away and highly recommended.
We had a lovely stay in one of the superior lodges. The lodge its self was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. The hub has a shop, small.arcades, bar, restaurant and swimming pool. The lodges are in the nicest end of the park and the hot tub is a real treat. We chose the park due to its proximity to paultons park.A couple of minor things that would make it 5 star. The bedrooms come as 3 twins and 1 double as a group of adults with small children in travel cots it would be nicer if you had the option to request these were doubles. The other thing is the pool is slightly chaotic with families and although the weather was glorious the outdoor pool was closed till the end of May. We also had a minor problem with water pressure in the lodge. Overall though a lovely stay and we would come again.
My family and I had a really nice time. The park was clean and tidy. As was the caravan, to my surprise. It was more upmarket than other caravan parks iv been too before. There were activities for the children but they were really aimed at older children whereas we had toddlers. The lesser star was because there was not a lot to do for the children and the activities I booked with the go active, 2 of them I paid for and had booking confirmations and reminder emails to attend but the go active team had no record of my bookings.
Excellent stay. 2nd time of coming here, will be back again. Great facilities, extremely clean and tidy. Every member of staff always has a smile, a credit to the company. Thank you, from 4 adults and a very happy dog.
Weve stayed here a few times. Im not a great fan of holiday parks but the kids enjoy it. This time we opted for a hot tub which we all enjoyed. The caravan was fine.I really like that the park has an entrance straight into Hurn forest. We had a poor experience in the swimming pool. There were a large group of kids being dangerous on the slide and in the pool. The Life guards were doing there best to avoid addressing their behaviour. While taking my 3yr old down the slide we were his by two kids who went straight down afterwards. They then then pushed my oldest out the way to jump the queue and were verbally abusive. When I spoke to the life guards they just shrugged. TBH I dont blame them, all the Life guards were very young and in no way equipped to deal with the inevitable conflict of addressing the behaviour. I consider it more about a lack to support from management. We decided to leave early as we didnt feel it was safe.Overall our stay was ok. Would I come back... probably not.
I was a bit adement before coming here ...how wrong was I ?!....came with 12 people and a dog and everyone absolutely loved it. Its not your average camping its like a place in-between Butlins and center parcs, to me its perfect and will certainly be back again.
One of the best holiday parks I have been to. I booked via Hoseasons. Friendly staff at the reception and for maintenance. No problems with the accommodation or facilities. Located in a peaceful setting surrounded by forest, close to Bournemouth. There are a couple of superstores within 5 to 10 mins drive. I highly recommend this holiday park and would be visiting again.
One of the best most friendly holiday parks we have been to.Nothing is to much trouble. All staff are friendly.Good entertainment. And good value for money with food and drinks.
Wow, what a super site. We have generally visited Haven sites and this was our first Shorefield visit. The site was great, we had one problem whereby our kettle wasn’t working, called the help number and a replacement kettle was delivered within 5 minutes. The keys locked in a key lock when you arrive is great. The pool, entertainment block was awesome and all the staff were so friendly. If I could give 10 stars I would. Well done everyone at Oakdene, you make a Haven holiday look poor.
The park itself is nice and set near a lovely forest walk, my husband and I enjoyed it as we could walk our dogs without a worry, we had a meal in the evening and sat in the Acorn restaurant which was only place we could sit with our dogs, the entertainment music was so loud as we ordered our food and drinks via the app, easily done and a quick service, the meal was ok and we found the music very loud so we closed the door to the entertainment room and it was lovely, we was enjoying the evening until they opened up the door again, my husband went and shut the door again and he was confronted by a member of staff who said you have to keep it open so people can walk in and out easily, Really? Does he think the people in there are incapable lol it as put us off going back in there which is a shame, just like to add we was the only people sitting in the Acorn restaurant and maybe we know why now!!
Stayed at the park with family. Its a lovely place. The facilities are very clean and the park well kept. The night entertainment was very good, other camp sites could learn from this place. High standards and the music was good. People really enjoyed themselves. Some of the staff on reception where a little off putting, somewhat defensive. We had a problem with the car ramps on the park as I dont know weather they are set to high or the ground had spoken before some of the ramps but we lost a part of the bottom of the car as it scrapped the ramps every time. They said that they would send the manager around but no one came.
Wonderful place to visit - with a great range of activities and events to attend should it interest you (but book ahead before you arrive to avoid disappointment as some it get fully booked very quickly - such as the archery & panic room). There is site-wide WiFi, which is great as the mobile signal is terrible; but the WiFi is strong enough that we didnt even really notice it.
Because I didnt use any of the facilities I cant really comment, and my visit was October 2021 and in the rainy season , but looking around the place I saw an indoor pool, amusement arcade, crazy golf, archery, motorised little cars for the kids, bar and restaurant and a small shop.We rented a caravan which was lovely, lots of the caravans are really nice, its clean and kept very tidy.Im betting its great in the summer, seems lots to do for families.Theres even a chance to buy your own caravan, lots of new ones for sale.Recommend it there!
Had a really nice stay in lodge on the site, this was immaculate with everything to make your stay really comfortable. The on-site shop is quite expensive but local shops are not too far away, including a Chinese,Fish & chip shop, and a all round store selling beer, wine, fresh milk etc. Close to Poole & Bournemouth, plenty to do. Went for a weekend, really relaxing & enjoyable.
Great place to holiday. We visited with our 5 month old son and it was perfect. We stayed in a 3 bed elegance which was clean and tidy when we arrived. We were apprehensive to begin with as it was located quite close to the main building however we had no noise issues at all. Plenty of local takeaways to collect from once baby is in bed! The pool is simple but does the job, changing area could be cleaner however we did visit later on in the day and there is only one changing table. All in all I would 100% recommend the park!
Fantastic 2 weeks at Oakdene, reliving my childhood visit. So much to do in the local area, staff friendly and helpful.Facilities are kept clean, the pool is never overcrowded thanks to booking system and the park is very tranquil despite it being relatively large. The only issue we really hit on was reception not grasping that theyd changed how to book their pool (from website via a link they sent, to appwithout notifying people whod already arrived, which I found really frustrating as they werent listening.Would definitely return. Hope they keep the system implemented for Covid with much of the services booked via App/online and ability to order food to table too.
