Shoprite - Supermarket in Lilongwe, Malawi
Their fresh baked good are great. Italian bread mmm pies , cakes yummy. Tho the choices of brands are limited you can get just about any item you need
Plenty of food. Very nice shopping center. Decent crush did aisle
Absolutely beautiful. Well stocked. Pricing Is Awesome Much Better than Shop And Stop,100%.
I have been going to ShopRite for years. I am really glad to put on my side of Brooklyn. Its huge, plenty of parking and the food is always fresh
I usually Shop at this location , because it’s the closest one to my home. First I would like to say the Cashier Dorian was cheerful and very polite and helpful thank you , Kevin not sure of his Title, he was rude and spoke to myself and my daughter in a condescending tone , if someone asks a question It should be answered without making you feel bad for asking it , Maybe senior management could send him back for Customer Service Training!!!
I give it a 5 because they have everything food wise, and its stack up neatly, etc. Only thing you have to catch their sales whenever, because otherwise their prices are high. Example their carolina rice 20 ibs is $16, when in Food Bazaar the rice is 2 for $15. Two 20 ibs = 40 pounds, is only $15.
Shoprite is Shoprite. I go in get what I need and leave. The prices arent bad at all. The workers need to be a little more professional however. The stock people are always cursing loudly on the floor regardless if customers are around or not. Some of the cashiers are always gossiping when ringing you up which is so unprofessional. I went on Sunday and my cashier was having a conversation with someone on her cellphone. I guess only some staff understand its a job and treat it accordingly. I dont see customer service improving any time soon.
My first time at ShopRite, very impressed. Abundance of food. Love that I found wild caught frozen fish!
I dont like coming here. Yes its spacious, its clean and organized, the staff is polite and eager to serve but I just dont like the prices. I get better deals elsewhere. Im a mom on a budget. I come here less than 5x a year.... And not to grocery but primarily to access the food at the deli. Also, NY has moved to allow EBT for prepared foods, according to a signed legislation by Governor Hochul since Oct 2021, but ShopRite is still doing what they very well please. I just dont like it here.
Usually a great place to get groceries.
Like going to this ShopRite hate dealing with the younger female cashier attitudes just standing there and gossiping but overall not a bad ShopRite to go to just need to teach the cashiers how to be better when it comes to customers service.
I didnt like that the cashier put all of my can goods on top of my Breyers Ice Cream. When I got home most of the ice cream was mashed out in the bottom of the bag😖😠
Now the cheese is always spoiled and still hanging on the shelf!!! The crab claws are never in stock!!! And the Raspberry ice tea is non existent replaced by zero sugar added products! Give us optionssss
It was not bad at all. It was really early so there was hardly anyone in the store. My cashier was very polite and sweet.
Eight pieces of chicken for $10 it used to be $8 or $8.69 now its $10 $9.99 only thing a good bargain for was the ice cream Turkey Hill 2 for $6
Food is too expensive but the overall experience was great. They had almost everything that I needed.
For years I have come here for chitterlings for New Year’s Day. They usually have a whole case of clean frozen chitterlings at that time of year. Really wonderful. Unfortunately, this past New Year’s, they didn’t have any because there was supposedly a shortage, I was told. I had to go elsewhere to find them, but I did. (Suggestion: keep some in the back for people who come in and ask after the case is empty!)
Brooklyn biggest supermarket. Lot of fresh fruit, meat and dairy products. Price is right. I like its deli department and their roast or fried chickens.2022.07.14 Like all stores, prices are up up up. Theres no inflation???!!!
I needed groceries and they were open until 11pm!!! While I was there I shopped well past 11 and they were very nice about it! And someone even helped put the groceries in the car.
Great place to shop...this place is huge..Great produce section, excellent deli area, large selection of every products...plenty of parking.
Came for a late night grocery run. It was my first time and I thought I would have a hard time finding stuff but was surprised to find things easily. If you want to start with your dairy first, it is on the other side from the main entrance. The butcher was closed and the bakery too, so I don’t know how is that experience but overall it was great. Oh one more thing, while I was there, it seemed that it was the “restocking” shift, making more people available to answer questions.
I give it a 5/5 because of the savings they are providing for the community and the fact that you can find everything youre looking for in one trip. Their participation in Instacart also rocks.
I passed by yesterday to make a quick shopping for few items and I DID NOT SEE THE NO PETS ALLOWED SIGNS ON THE ENTRANCE NOR EXSIT DOORS WHY WERE THEY REMOVED?I did not bother to shop.
Its very nice supermarket. Remind me of Wal-Mart of NYC. Good prices !
I guess it depends on the day. Lots of expired food dates with limited options. Cold cuts old, greens off, chicken grey. Mismatched prices and discountsAmazing gem with huge selection of fresh and frozen foods. So often city markets are lacking but this particular location had everything drag and on my list. Priced better than the stop and shop and way cleaner. Huge and completely stocked.
Please stop going to areas where people don’t want to work. This supermarket has a whole sign that says these cashiers bag your groceries. Then a row that says these do not. But guess what? None of them do. They don’t even offer you a bag. Please do better
Colin was such a patient and friendly cashier. He helped my friend and I with our large purchase order and was very pleasant.
For the most part, I am going to find what I sought. Get there early enough, and be home starting your meal sooner rather than later! Usually well stocked place to shop.
The store is getting terrible by the day, the eating area has been closed since covid started and never brought back, their cashiers still dont help pack, the sitting area to wait on the way out is dreadful on a cold or hot day cause the heater/air conditioner has been broken in over 2years. Their service Clerks have been manually pushing carts back since 2020, are you telling me you cart buy an electric cart pusher Iin2yrs.?. We need to be treated better. The store makes enough money to do better
Great if you like crowds. I went around noon, so it was packed, but the checkout lines were moving fast and almost all the lines were open. Best time to go is early in the morning
Going to ShopRite has always been a great place to shopped. Its peaceful regardless of how many people in the store and the workers are friendly. The prices are awesome.
The security guards need proper training, especially in customer service. Last Friday, I was followed throughout the entire store. Im a weekly shopper and I cater so Im very familiar with shoprite-gateway.I wasnt properly assisted with an issue- missing cart. I was mock, told by a supervisor, " security is not in business in finding carts". One of the security guards even started to dance, as if he not standing in front of a customer, and a supervisor. It was a storm coming and I was unable to do my shopping, so I became very overwhelmed and upset with how I was dealt with.Overall Shoprite is awesome, but at this specific location they lack customer service and attentiveness to the customers.
I want to give a shout-out to Terrance in the seafood department. Although it is New Year’s Day and they’re about to close (the seafood department was already closedhe saw me shuffling through the available crab legs. I was semi unhappy with what was left and Terrance walked over and gladly helped me although he didn’t have to. I really appreciated his great customer service so shout out to you terrace and happy new year!
GREAT SALES AT TIMES HOWEVER STORE IS ALWAYS KLEEEEEEAN😁
This store has every thing you can need from a grocery store and then some. The food quality is very good, and the prices are ok, but you can get some good deals on advertised specials. They have a fresh sushi section, a hot bar (food by the lb.), deli, fresh fish section, etc. The store is huge and there are a lot of parking spaces but be prepared to drive around for quite a few minutes because its usually very hard to find parking.
Love to get my produce from this store!!! Good variety, very large...not a fan of the new speedy check out area! Too small for carts and trying to pack your groceries in the tiny window is virtually a nightmare!During this Thanksgiving season...these guys were ravaged!!! No celery, only leaves left from heads of Cabbage... I thought a tornado had touched down!Maybe during the Holidays, clean up should be prioritized so more can be brought out? Just my opinionBut you guys still have a really great store Generally!
You are spoiled for choice in this supermarket. Seriously, this place is huge! The fact that it is located in a much needed area is amazing. The staff are polite. Deli selection is yummy. Super clean. Good prices. Has a café.The only reason I dont give it full 5 stars is bc they didnt have enough cashiers for the weekend rush. There also should be self check out lanes for people to have more choices. IMO.But, overall a positive place to shop at.
This supermarket is large, clean and theres so much variety! Different product brands, plus cooked food, sushi and bakery items. Theres something here for everyone. Lots of sales & discounts even if you dont have the store card. Alot of check out registers and staff are not too hard to find for assistance. Thumbs up!
The seafood department is very unprofessional. I shop here weekly and their customers service and rapport is rude. There are new employees, they dont even assist them, so they can learn how to assist the customers. I do see no one really like to deal with the seafood department, but that not the customers issue. They need to hire proper people to clean the fish as well.
Great store. Always has a large variety of all types of foods. Love that they have KOSHER cheeses! And KOSHER candies! And allot of other KOSHER goodies. Hope they keep adding more 🙏 Staff here are great always enjoy coming here
Ive always had a decent time visiting and shopping here. The staff is very friendly and respectful. The seafood is a good place to start. Special buys are up front and easy to get until gone. Finally, Ive been lucky to have had great cashiers so far.
Shame on every supermarket Ive ever been to. This store is absolutely phenomenal. Never mind the beautiful layout and how perfectly set up it is. Never mind how everything I needed - and more - was in stock. But the staff at the store were perfection. So helpful. So nice. I fully intend to call the Corporate headquarters and congratulate them. All supermarkets should model themselves after this store. Thanks to everyone there for a wonderful experience!
It was so big and the layout was so different then other stores that Ive been in. But we were able to find everything that we needed. They were surprisingly pretty fully stocked. There was so much parking but be careful nobody seems to put their carts into the corrals for some reason so driving can become an obstacle course. Other than that it was great.
Cool, clean spot to purchase groceries in Brooklyn New York.
Buyer beware- How can I, as a consumer trust a grocery if they dont honor there prices. I saw the below sale, and asked an associate working in the aisle to confirm the sale price. He states the items are sold as packaged not individual. I take the 5 cases to the register to purchase. Upon checkout, the sales associate calls 3 managers (assuming various authority levelsto complete the transaction. The most senior manager tells me " its not his fault that I misinterpreted the sign, and that its the customers job to open the package and take one bottle".🤔.. It is customary to break open a package of bread just for one loaf? This is unjust. And last I checked -- English is my first language ... maybe its customary to insult the intelligence of a single black and polite mother who just so happens to be an MBA graduate 🤷🏾♀️
Theres a food bar here. Good stuff. Staff is usually nice and helpful. Great variety of fruits and veggies. Lots of options. Parking is available. Decent vegan selection.
This super market has a great selection of foods that suits all cultural backgrounds. I have been frequenting this establishment for a few years now and they never disappoint. Each time that I visit this market the employees are always knowledgeable of where items are , and they never give me attitude. This morning I visited the super market and I was so excited to see a display of DIVERSE SANTA CLAUS STATUES. It’s rare that you see Santa Claus statues that depict or at least look like people of African descent. Seeing these statues made me so happy that I had to take a picture ! Seeing Santa Claus figures that I can identify with made me feel included , and heightened my Christmas spirit even more ! Companies could aim to make Christmas statues , figurines and stockings more inclusive to represent people of various backgrounds.
I really enjoy going to this store. There is a great variety that the whole family enjoys. The prices are good. Could be better
This place has everything! Salad bar, sushi bar, buffet, fruits, vegetables, beer, wine, flowers, dunking donuts etc. They also have a nice selection of meats and breads.Staff is ok, most are friendly-enough and the shopping carts require $25 cents. There is also a recycle machine, once you use it you can bring in the receipt for money back.Overall great place to buy groceries, hot and cold foods.
I dont usually write reviews, I take them seriously; because I use them as a reference for my own purchasing decisions. So where to begin with this store? I want to grant this store the fact that it is ideally located where there was a dire need for a supermarket. However, I have lived and traveled to other parts of the northeast corridor and I have been going to Shop-rite because I do believe that Shop-rite corporate does care about the product they are behind. It is endemic in this store the lack of customer care. Sunday mornings has got to be the worst day to shop there. It gets hectic in there this is an area where people mostly work late weekday shifts and are mostly able to get their weekly groceries on weekends. The shoppers are courteous for the most part everyone pretty much is patient and generally courteous to one another. The produce is not replenished by even 10 am the staff lays out the pallet and jacks blocking access to products from about 10 am on forward. I have empathy for anyone that has to work on a Sunday morning. But my experience has been that some workers, not all, have a very nasty disposition. I thought it was a one time thing but I had the same experience again and again there. This is Brooklyn I get that, but there is no need for the nastiness. Exactly what do I mean by nasty? For instance the produce people are restocking while guests are shopping but they are restocking when this could have probably been done before doors open considering the equipment obstructs the merchandise and access to it. Then to be polite I have asked the worker to please hand me one of the produce items so I didnt have to get in their way and more than one time the person pretended not to hear me and stopped and looked the other way. on another occasion the worker gave me a nasty look and did not speak. I just went around the equipment and grabbed what I needed. On a couple of other instances the stock workers are pushing pallet jacks at a fast pace through a very packed store with handicapped people and toddlers walking in the store. I know they are adept operators of equipment but when the store is busy is no time for these operators to be racing through the aisle. I dont know if this is just a New York thing but even the management has no sense of ownership, and are as immature as the staff or maybe that is where the staff gets their lead from. I will start looking for another store to get my groceries.
