Came here for the Shingon Shu Bon Dance. Danced a lot, lit incense for my ancestors, picked up obento for my adult "kids" and danced. Theres something beautiful about keeping up our traditions from our home 🏡 country.

Its an ok place. Bishop is rude, and reverend dismissive. Couldnt even take 5 minutes out of their day with us. As gas as Temples go, rather second rate too. Save your time for nicer temples with friendlier welcoming.. expected alot more in Hawaii. But I guess theyve caught the COVID indifference.

We were observers of the 2022 New Year worshippers arriving in the morning. This seemed to be a well coordinated scheduled arrival as the lines were never very long and came as a steady stream of visiting worshippers. This went on all the while as we watched from the neighboring McDonalds parking lot and are our food.

This place is important not only for the Buddhist sanctuary but also for the scraper architecture at the temple entrance.The round Temoe at the top of the entrance roof represents the cycle of life.It is easy to come to visit this place by bus from everywhere of honolulu .

Very beautiful, ornate building, that I walked by on my journey. Well worth seeing. I loved hearing the bell ring. The location is next door to a McDonalds & many people who went to the services at the temple were eating at McDonalds when services had concluded, which made for a pleasant atmosphere at the restaurant.

Beautiful temple. It reminds me of being in Asia. I dont know anything about this community, but they put a lot of effort into their building and surroundings.
