Zoo and wildlife conservation charity with creatures from hedgehogs to owls, meerkats and a lynx.
Lots of fun for our 5 year old, and nice that itβs not too spread out. Very clean and staff very friendly and really informative about animals and creatures. Great day!
Lovely afternoon could have been whole day. The cafe and play zone kept little one entertained. Not a large scale Zoo, but plenty to do and very clean and tidy. Staff all very friendly.
Really enjoyed this little gem. We had been out in the morning and needed a little something else for a few hours. We found this on Google maps and I am so pleased we did. Its a great little place. Cute animals, big and small. Walk through bat enclosure and walk through with the rabbits. The outside play area is brilliant for young or older kids and they had a disabled play area which I thought was a lovely touch. They also had a soft play, but we were too late to go in there, but looked good. Nice little cafe there too. Also seating for your own picnic. My little boy had the best time, he loved the dinosaurs.Could easily spend half to full day here, depending on how quick you are and at Β£13.50 an adult, its so reasonable. Under 2s are free too.I will happily drive the hour and 15 mins to come back again π
I absolutely adore this wildlife park, we have been coming here with our children for 10 years. The staff are always lovely and the park is kept in great shape. Today I was lucky enough to enjoy the red panda experience which was just amazing!! If you are in a position to purchase this expensive I highly recommend it π genuinely made my year βΊ
Small wildlife park but good selection. Animals all look well cared for. Worth the visit just for the Nocturnal house with the fruit bats flying around you. As long as you are fine with that sort of thing! Took nearly 20 mins to convince my daughter to go in but once in she didnt want to leave! Was in there for ages and she loved it. Ive been a few times and with any wildlife park its sometimes down to luck what Animals happen to be out but more often than not you get to see most of them there. Personally I would recommend and think its worth a visit.
What a joy Shepreth Wildlife Park is! I received a Capybara VIP experience for a gift and this was such an amazing day out. 30 minutes of being with them, feeding and fussing over them. All while Eve the keeper was giving us all the cool facts about Capybara and other animals that share their space.Highly recommend this as a wonderful day out. Lots of other animals to visit in a place that is well looked after. Has a cafe, lots of play things for children and is easy to navigate.Thank you
Been coming here for years and have fond childhood memories with my friends here. Came here again recently after a few years and thoroughly enjoyed it. So nice to know the money is going to all the animals that havent had the best start to life. Highly recommend for all ages
Lovely wildlife park with plenty to do, but not so big you have to cram everything in. My young children both love going. Soft play and play areas are both brilliant and a great place to finish off our visit with our lunch.
We had the Meet the Otters experience today and had a great time. Thomas the keeper was really knowledgeable and we enjoyed feeding and training the family of otters
My family and I love it here! Its a small wildlife park but with the indoor and outdoor play areas combined with the talks every half an hour (recommended), given by the very knowledgeable keepers, its definitely a whole day out. The cafe is nice and clean and the food is always good.
Took our grandson here. It is a nice size zoo for younger guests and caters well for them with play equipment sandpits etc. Shame the train was not running. It has a good selection of animals for its size. The bat experience was very good but I found the owl enclosures too small for the poor owls. Catering was well priced and food was ok. Overall a good value day out and all the staff we met were very friendly, professional and helpful.
We had a lovely relaxed day, beautiful animals in nice habitats. The whole park is clean and well looked after, with plenty of hand washing stations. Good play areas for kids and a nice cafe.......wouldnt change a thing.
A good variety of animals here. We spent 3hrs looking in the many areas. The staff talks were informative, and the highlight was seeing the Tigers.
Nice little wildlife park. We spent 3 hours here. There are several animal talks. You need to bring a mask for the nocturnal enclosures. There is a cafe with the soft play. Where you can be sandwiches, hotdogs and pizza. It can get quite noisy from the children playing which was fine for us, but might not suit everyone. The education centre had some nice activities my children enjoyed, the keeper chatted explaining the answers
Lovely little zoo with large well kept animal enclosures. Very family oriented - lots of play areas, including an indoor soft play, suitable for children of all ages. Reasonably priced food and plenty of picnic seating.
Great for kids and not so much of a safari. Animals are not freely roaming around.
This is a hidden gem of a park. The staff are very knowledgeable, enclosures spacious and clean with plenty to look at. There are lots of picnic tables and play areas and good signage as you go round. Great value, would highly recommend.
Good accessibility. Smaller than I expected. Good talks. Good playground and lots of picnic areas. Toilets werent very clean.
Brilliant wildlife park, lots of very interesting talks, nice cafe.
Highly recommend their experiences, met the Aardvarks which are so cool! Some great views to be had and talks on the animals are scheduled throughout the day. This park actively works towards conservation and education. They have a great play area for kids and are currently building a new one which looked like its going to be awesome when finished.
Nice place. Not as big as some zoos, but they do good conservation work. Theres a cafe and childrens play area with enough to keep them entertained while you sit.We bought the aardvark experience which was great. Dean the curator was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable while he had us feed and pet the aardvarks. The fee goes towards their conservation efforts which is a bonus.
A very nice place to visit. A little small so dont think your coming to a whole day zoo but definitely worth the visit for a few hours. 8.5/10
A wonderful little zoo, especially for families. It definitely caters more towards children, but the views of the animals and the experiences they offer are fantastic. Me and my wife recently participated in their ringtail lemur experience and it was worth every penny! Staff are very friendly and animals are well cared for.The cafe also houses a childrens soft play area so unfortunately its very noisy and kinda off putting for childless adults, but nothing egregious.
Parking available and small cafe and toilets. Gift shop and hedgehog hospital are other attractions. Great little place to introduce tour children to wildlife. Very educational and displays and feeding is exhibited daily. Favorite of small children is of course the train which does a small tour of the surrounding animals in their habitats.
Brilliant park. All animals are easy to spot, but still have plenty of space to roam/relax. Everything looks well kept and looked after. Big play area outside and good soft play for both 0-5 and older. Can take a picnic or hot/cold food from the cafe. Plenty of seating. The bat walk was great and lots of keeper talks throughout the day. Would recommend for all ages.
Superb time with Grandson, he loved it and managed to get some lovely photos.
While not the biggest wildlife/ zoo Ive visited. Managed to get round the whole park in around hour & half, it certainly makes up for character. The park is very scenic, lots of little streams & ponds scattered around the place. Makes for a really peaceful & nice environment, the animals seem very well looked after.
Little one (2 years oldwas very interested in the park and the sandbox.... word of advice ... take lots of pound coins for the toy cars. Diggers and merry go round.Little one was only interested in red panda.. so as a zoo it was okayAs a play ares great
Excellent day out, great selection of animals to see close up. Also the talks that the staff give on the animals were so in depth and give time for a Q&A.
Had a great time at the widlife park today tookMy daughter she loved it . We had our lunch in the cafe reasonably priced. Friendly staff and excellent talks about the animals. Will revisit again.
Visited here on the way to Great Yarmouth and was a great stop for the kids to enjoy before we carried on. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals especially the otters, red panda and the big cats. Walking around is easy and once we needed a break the cafe has a really good softplay great for younger and older kids. Food was decent and gave the adults a break while the kids could carry on going crazy. Great for a day out.
Very nice place, well organized, well maintained and clean. There is a soft playground for the kids with a cafeteria and seating area. Free parking and reasonable ticket prices.
Visited Shepreth Wildlife Park with my partner today and Im pleased to say I highly recommend it! Theres a large number of animals to see and its the park is broken up into different areas in which animals reside habitually (Africa, Asia, etc.)It was great to see that all of the animals appeared happy and healthy enjoying a sunny day at the park. We didnt see some of the animals in their enclosures but were unsure of whether they may have been elsewhere in the park (Clouded Leopards & Aardvark).Theres plenty for young children to do both indoors (soft playand outdoors (play park), add the animals into the mix and you can easily make a day out of it. There is also a cafΓ© where they serve both hot and cold food (the price is a little steep so its worth bringing a packed lunch). The souvenir shop has a ton of good gifts to remember your trip by too so be sure to see what Shepreth Wildlife Park has to offer!
Kiddos had a great time here. Its a lot smaller and quieter than most wildlife parks and with fewer animals but enough to have a nice time with the family and for kids to go a little wild and learn something new. They have a nice little cafe with an indoors softplay area that the kids absolutely loved!. The park also has a shop to buy little souveniers. I highly recommend this place. We went on a Sunday and it wasnt crowded at all.
I took my kids here during half term (Februaryand it wasnt to busy, was quite a nice day out for the kids, there were an a mix of animals, red pandas, Llamas, monkeys, tigers although the looked sad if Im honest they was just pacing up and down, there insects and more, the bat walk is ok you can walk through while they fly freely about. My absolute favourite was the prairie dogs, they were hilarious bobbing up and dog and "talking" to each other. We ate in the restaurant as I didnt take food (Id take a picnicthe food was reasonable price for these types of places Β£4 for a hot dog Β£2 for a coffee but we waited such along time (20-25 mins for the food, 4 hotdogs)There is a indoor play area which was busy and no where to sit so we didnt stay there, seating outside also outside play areas one is closed at the moment. There is an educationan center bit there was a nice lady called liz, who showed my children the i sand box, which was fascinating and fun and chatted away to myself and the children. They also coloured in some pictures.Overall it was a good day out, it wasnt as big as I had thought but we made a day of it.
Me and the gf went for the Otter Experience Monday 21st February 2022 Alice I believe her name is, was absolutely fantastic very bubbly and chatty she took loads of photos for us and it did not feel like she is just doing her job But was genuinely involved and got us involved like she was beaming with happiness throughout which really made the experience for us, we had an absolutely wonderful Otter Experience because of her and we had a wonderful chat as well. All in all a wonderful day.
Me and my partner did the red panda experience at Shepreth Wildlife Park and had the best time. I did not expect it to be so closely involved with the red pandas. We got to do basic training commands with both of the pandas and feed them lots of grapes! Sam their keeper was great at explaining all the details of red pandas to us and took plenty of photos of us throughout the experience, so that we could get the most of it. Once we were finished, I wanted to book again straight away! This place is great overall and a very thought out wildlife park.
Was great day out and the park has lots of beautiful animals to see. We were lucky we got to see them all. I went there when I was pregnant and now I canβt wait to take my baby girl there when sheβs a little bit older. Iβm sure sheβll love it too.
Went to the park with my girlfriend to do the wonderful Aardvark Experience. in October. Managed to see almost all the animals, they were really sweet and very well looked after. Liz, the keeper leading the experience was really friendly and knowledgeable helping make the experience a once in a lifetime event for us! The park was lovely overall, well definitely be coming again, keep up the great work!
Great zoo. Nicest arrangment for kids. Small, interactive, packed with wildlife and canteen with play area.
We took our 2 year old out and had a lovely time! There are so many different animals there! Otters, Wolves, Tigers and even Bats and Rabbits! There is a lovely gift shop and a Cafe as well. The price isnt expensive either at Β£10 an adult. I highly recommend this place and it is situated in a lovely area!
We love Shepreth, lots of animals to see, the bat house is great the way the bats fly past you so close you can feel the draft created by their wings. I had a capibara experience brought for me as a gift which was brilliant π the kids really enjoyed the day out. ππ Would definitely recommend a visit.
Please please please support this amazing family run wildlife park.Their ethos on conservation is outstanding. The love and knowledge they have for their creatures is amazing and you will have the best day out.Every keeper who walks around, if you have a question and stop them to ask, will take the time to answer that question and will always ask if they can help with anything before they leave you to enjoy the rest of their animals. The VIP animal experiences are very worthwhile too, if you are debating doing one I highly recommend you do it.We did the aardvarks and I urge you to participate in hands on experience. Our keeper Liz was amazing and knew everything we wanted to know and so much more.Terry and his daughter are the kindest, sweetest people you could meet and are never too busy to help you or answer questions.I definitely recommend going here for an amazing day out with all the family.Thank you for our day out. X
I went there for the red panda experience. The park is not big but its lovely and the staff was lovely too and keeper talks were interesting, I like the fact that they raise money for animals in the wild such as tigers, red pandas and more! Some animals could benefit from slightly bigger enclosures for sure, but overall I had great time there!
Very compact, clean place . Easy access to all animals, you can watch them all donβt need to wait hours to see it or search. Great idea for day out
Great to visit and support. Lots to see and do, at time of writing many improvements underway. Ill look forward to going back in the future to see how it has changed. Opportunity to feed selected animals is a an experience well recommend. Lots of history and information around the park with animal adoption schemes and information too. The nocturnal experience is great for all ages and a chance to get up quite close to the bats. The canteen is quite slow and long queues as a result, Id recommend bringing snacks, there are plenty of places to sit and test.
Taking in to consideration the chaos corona virus must have caused the sight seemed well kept, nice informative talks, friendly staff that clearly care a lot about the animals.cages as good as cages can be. Kids enjoyed it very much π
Myself and my partner were very lucky to do the panda experience at the wildlife park today. It was incredible, the keeper was very friendly, answered all our questions and we even got some lovely photos. The park itself is small but still a good venture out. Lots of unique animals that I havent seen before and I live next to a big well known zoo, so was nice to experience different animals too.The cafe is reasonably priced and we didnt have to wait long for our food which was freshly prepared. The staff were constantly cleaning areas and the park itself has a one way system due to covid which worked well. The gift shop at the end is filled with lots of different animal themed toys/gifts/accessories and more. All in all a very good day out. Thank you, special thanks to the panda keeper (sorry I forgot your nameshe was incredible.
Had a lovely afternoon at Shepreth wildlife park. No real grumbles but we really wanted to see the fruit bats but the house was still closed. We will be returning in the future to see the fruit bats once itβs open.
Fantastic afternoon out. One way system in place to help with social distancing but can get busy in certain areas. Due to covid some of the indoor attractions are closed but it doesnt spoil the visit. Its important that we support these attractions now lockdown is lifting. All in all great value for money highly recommend. Will be back.
