Great little fish and chip takeaway shop. The fish was fresh and the portions were reasonable, however, they did get one of the orders mixed up giving us battered instead of crumbed fish. That said the food was still delicious and very cheap. Would go back again.

Good good, not been there in a year or two as he was always messing up our orders, nice though but husband doesnt tolerate consistent bodge ups with food orders 😂🙄😂🙄😂🙄😂 she however is great, A1 cooking & service 😁😆😅🤗

Fish was ok. Chips were sloppy and tasted old/reheated. Ive noticed there are a few complaints about your chips, you should really look into your quality that youre putting out. Customer service was bad, didnt say one word to me when I picked up the order and just threw the bag down on the table.

Ordered a 9 dollar special that came with a hamburger. Was expecting the normal burger youd get at any other takeaway, but when I got home I found out they make their own patties! And what an amazing pattie. Went back a week later to try the notorious King burger, for 15 dollars. And was definitely not let down. Sooo good 👍

3 weeks ago we phoned an order in & was told half an hour, turned up & it took another 35 minutes, strike 1 - did the same last week & the same result (even though we asked if it would an hour??), strike 2 - & tonight they told us it would be 30 minutes so we turned up after 40 minutes & it took another 10 minutes extra - strike 3. Just be honest with the wait times ??

Loved the fresh fish. good variety of fish options. Loved the “old school” styleChips. Smiley happy prompt service. We’ve told everyone at The Cosy Corner CampTo come to your takeaways. Definitely recommend.

Waited over an hour as they completely missed our order, had already payed for it as well. No extra food was offered or an apology instead they missed our fish from the order as we later discovered. Won’t be going back.

Never go to this place because you will be treated terribley. I asked what was on the chesse burger and he stared at me and said chesse. Him and his worker both not wearing masks started bursting in laughter mocking me saying whats on the cheese burger. The next customer walks in and the owner points at me and tells the other customer that I asked whats on a chesse burger. Disgusting behavior and all three people working were not wearing masks.

Great F & C from Shellrock , fresh fish, nice crispy batter, homestyle chunky chips , good stuff. Resonably priced.Will return sometime, recommended

Fish was fresh , but meal was abit cold chips werent crispy or seasoned. Ordered a Hawaiian burger an got a basic hamburger an didnt taste great. Disappointing.

I placed an order on Monday night and the guy on the counter was so nice and friendly! He even gave us extra fries ! The meal was amazing I love this place

It’s not very often you come across home made chips in New Zealand and wow do these chips hit the spot. So yummy - definitely up there with the best chips in the country for sure. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Dude, hands down best fish and chips in general.We had their fish burger, King burger, a scoop of chips 2 sauces and the cute wee family even threw in a free hot dog!!The hot dog was icing on the cake of the overall flavour and effort put into the service.I dont enjoy dripping in grease food and this was far from that.❤️ Cheers guys well defs be back!

Chips were poor quality lots of small hard burnt bits. Fish was overly greasy.

Chips were horrible, tasted really old, sure the oil used needs a change. Ate 1 chip, threw the whole lot away

Update: used to be a great place, things changed. I guess its a new owner now. Terrible soft chips tastes like old and reheated, little soft piece of fish... Please avoid if possible.My old review: The only place I know around the town to get so great, not oversalted hand cut chips. The fish is good as well.

This has to be the most disgusting tasting chips I have ever had. The chips were dark brown - tasted of old fat and soggy. They were binned.

Have been here before and the food is highly recommended by me and others.The reason for this review is about the way i was treated and the food.Im not sure what i did to upset the owner, maybe it was how long it took me to choose what fish i wanted.Everyone before me when they recieved their food got a conversation and a come again.When mine was ready he just threw it on the counter and glared at meEveryone there was a bit stunned as we did not no why.We left and went to beach.Fish was so overcooked that had to feed to the seagulls.Chips were crumbs and no better.Only took photo when i remembered i had phone.People drive from afar to come here and its worth it so i really dont know what his problem was

We specially make the trip over to sit on the beach and have some of their yummy fish cakes, 2 sundays in a row, no fish cakes....

Fries were really disgusting, oily and not crispy at all. Its the second time we buy there and for the second time chips are awefull. It seems like they were fried a while ago and refried today. Awefull, unfortunately.

Went there on Friday... Use to go there 10yrs ago, changed shops because the chips had always tasted, looked felt like yesterdays chips, reheated. and well, nothing has changed.

Beautiful food and wonderful service it might take a little bit longer than some places but well worth the wait at drive our favorite summer fish n chip shop xx

This place is conveniently located near the heart of Mount Manganui. Finally a place that does great burgers. The chips were alright, but the burgers were fantastic. Reasonable wait for the food which is alright if youre prepared

Quite a rude young person who chose not to serve us or speak to us as she was answering the phone...instead chose to use finger gestures without making any eye contact at all instead...then sulked when she was spoken to by her boss(dad?Food was over cooked and tasteless. A real disappointment

The customer service at this place was on point. The banter was hilarious and the burgers were incredible. Great portion sizes and would 100% go back. Keep up the amazing work!

Awesome burgers as normal but once again the chips were terible in that they were soggy and unsalted. Almost like they had been microwaved. Also ordered and paid for 4 x chicken nuggets and only received 3!!

Great tasting chips and a generous serve, fish (terakhiwas tasting good and portion ok - the batter was a bit soggy. Service was very casual/unfriendly, the girl at counter seemed to be away with the fairies. Store cleanliness was slightly below average.

Sherlock Takeways has the freshest Gurnard fish crunchy home cut chips, the yummiest fishdog with cheese, fish filled burger delicious. My favourite fish n chip shop. Better than Bobbies in the wharf trust me.

Fish, hotdogs (amazing), kumara chips were great. Sadly chips were inedible, very overcooked, small off cuts and tasted odd. If we come again would order the shoe string chips instead.
