Absolutely fabulous! The food was sublime and the service was wonderful. We went for a long lunch on a beautiful Sunday and it was just perfect.

The food was great but the service let it down. We were asked if we want water, then it wasn’t brought, we’re were asked again. I got a beer and the the waiter noticed the glass was very dirty so said he’d bring another but he didn’t bring it. We order wine to be served with the meal but they didn’t bring it. We spent half the night trying to get the attention of the staff to get them to do the things they already knew. It was frustrating

Smart dining experience, DIVINE sea food. My parents, travelling from Europe insisted on re-visiting this fabulous restaurant. Surprisingly well-geared for kids too.

Perfect location for a special occasion. A birthday dinner provided the perfect opportunity to view a range of dishes, but I think my lamb dish won the day. Deliciously tender and aromatic. And because I’m an old man, I want for the roast banana desert to satisfy the sweet tooth. Hit all the spots.

When to dinner to celebrate a friends significant birthday, table of 8. The food was delicious, atmosphere vibrant. The waiter went out of there way and presented the birthday girl a plate with happy birthday wishes and a small cake with lit candle. We bought a glass with shed 5 logo and all signed it using black vivid marker as a take home memento for the birthday girl (went down very wellnow sits on her shelf.

Loved everything I ordered great service great wine and even a wet windy cold day could not spoil the warmth of the food oh yes and my company.

Well trained staff, very important. The fish we had was perfect. Its unfortunate the white wine is kept in the beer fridge. Its served too cold. A common problem though.

The Girls lunch was wonderful. The food is some of the best I have had.

We came there the second time because we fell in love with their duck fat chips and market fish. But when we got there the menu was changed. We didn’t know it changed because their menu from outside was still the old menu. We were very apologetic for wanting to go instead of ordering something we didn’t want to eat. As we left we sensed that the maître d was mad at us for some reason. She didn’t apologise, no words of explanation from her.

Ordered the seafood risotto wasnt much sea food.. husband order the 55 day aged stake portion was too small. Daughter ordered the chicken burger and chips. She loved it.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here last night and the staff here, especially our server Sara, really made the occasion absolutely perfect. Everything from the food, the comfort, the wine, the service were all exemplary. Was a fantastic experience.

Great dining experience. I had the risotto and my wife had the market fish. Risotto was not like the ones I had in Italy but decent job. Would definitely opt for the market fish next time . The oysters were delicious as usual.

Great food - My only issue was the service, had a few servers and a few of them weren’t sure about the Gluten free options and questions seem to pass from server to server. In the end the manager(?was serving us. I also couldn’t help to feel that we were judged based on our look and age cuz everything went friendlier when we paid lol. We had a few platter of oysters, starters and mains (only took a few photos). All delicious as anticipated but perhaps the service was a little less smooth so 4 stars

Fantastic dining experience, a very good waiter whoknew his stuff, the food wsas excellent and even though, my wine needed to be sent back, there was no hassle, just swapped it immediately no arguing. Highly recommended, as even though they were nearly full the service was quick, but well timed. Great night.

Went there on the weekend with a flatmate, both of us got extremely sick about 30min later when we got home (and we were out of the house that day, dinner there was only food we shared). Just called shed 5 for suspected/very likely case of food poisoning, mostly just for food safety concern in the future, but staff only said they will “trace back” others who were there, and said “thanks for letting us know”. No apology, didn’t take ask for my number. More annoyed about how they handled it than getting sick itself

Wonderful experience. Staff very friendly and efficient and gave a great vibe. Te Kouma oysters were absolutely delicious. A special way to celebrate two birthdays!

Lovely service, however 4 different servers came over to us which was not great. Had to report an issue to another server because our original one who took the order did not come back. The issue was resolved quick and easily which left a good impression and would return. Would recommend the seafood risotto!

Always a great meal and what a perfect place on a sunny day. Seafood is fresh and brilliantly prepared, wine list is extensive and the service is great.

This review is about the bar at the northern end, not the restaurant (I have been to the restaurant before and enjoyed it). The reason I am writing this negative review is because they tried to overcharge us. Two of us shared a single bottle of wine and the bar was very quiet so everything was calm and relaxed. When I went to pay for our $54 bottle of wine, they tried to charge me $72 for it. I said that cant be right. They apologised and put the correct bottle in which they knew without even asking/checking. Good - all sorted. Though I am disappointed that they can make a simple mistake so easily or did they try it on? Other than that it was nice.

Wonderful location. Glorious food and friendly service. Did not appreciate the 2% surcharge for credit card use...you dont need to do that! Still, a good find. Go there

I enjoyed a beautiful meal with friends we celebrated 3 birthdays we do this every year. Lovely setting and the service was exceptional. We love Shed 5

Luxurious dining. Don’t show up in your Kathmandu jacket and Nike sneakers like I did. Food was pricey but delicious. Our waitress Georgia was AMAZING. She was funny, suggested the best wine according to preference, and was great at making small talk. Will return just for Georgias service, yummy kai was a bonus.

Outstanding food and service. Every bite delicious and full of flavour. My husband and I had goats cheese soufflé 12/10, seafood chowder 10/10, fish with truck loads of flavour n yummy ingredients and , steak with duck fat chips . Yum. We will be back.

Just had another fabulous lunch at Shed5. As always, the food and service was superb but today we had an especially bubbly and fun wait person who made our day. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and everything was done with humor and fun.The Bluff oysters were sublime (thanks Geoff. Our table enjoyed the calamari, tuna crudo, seafood chowder, risotto and a perfectly cooked steak followed by some excellent cheese and accompaniments. Great food, great seaside location and a stunning Wellington day. Who could ask for more.

I brought my family here for dinner and it was amazing, We had a warm welcome, a great waitress (Georgiathe food was phenomenal, could not pick at any little detail, as it was just perfect. For our family of 10, it was well priced and outstanding overall! Loved it! Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!

Chose to go to Shed 5 as most recommended in Wellington, after last nights affair I sure was left in awe, this waterfront facing restaurant has much to offer beyond the huge glass windows overlooking the water. The interiors are adorned with perfect lighting and vintage decor that will enchant anyone who would love to experience fine dining at its best. Dont get me started with the food. Ordered fresh oysters which really brightened my night, every piece felt like the goodness of the ocean. The entrees are delightful to the palate as they they all have their own flavour and had the perfect crunch accompanied by sauces I havent tasted before. Had the lamb shoulder for mains and the meat just melts in your mouth. All and all I would definitely go back here for seafood goodness.

First of all very surprised the waitress did not ask us how we would like our meat cooked. Eye fillet came more medium-well and the duck was cooked well-done which I rather eat rare to medium-rare however was never asked by our waitress.Secondly the curried cauliflower which comes with the duck was very over powering and took away the balance of the dish.At last we ordered a side which never arrived.Overall experience was good however not as good as I hoped and expected of a "upscale" restaurant

Excellent food, excellent wine,excellent waiters,duck was slightly overcooked, but delicious food will definitely be going back.Went back a second time and once again was absolutely delicious had the 55 day aged steak for main and it was the nicest dish I have ever eaten,highly highly recommend shed 5,excellent food,excellent staff,excellent price

The food was beautiful read the menu and you think yeh I dont know then order and even that first bite you are absolutely blown away, the flavour are textures are to die for😃

Loved the theme and atmosphere.Food was sublime. 😍 I had the grilled yellow fin tina and my partner had the grilled snapper. Both meals were absolutely delicious.Our waiter was amazing and really knew his stuff.Sadly, the speed of the drinks service was a major let-down, having to wait nearly 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive: 3 glasses of wine, a lemonade and a beer (still in its bottleSeems there is only 1 person working the bar/drinks area 😞

Dinner was great, the desserts were so pretty youd hardly want to eat them - but we did and they were wonderful. Edwin our waiter was very attentive, knowledgable and doing a fabulous job. Thanks for a great night.

One of my favourite restaurants in the world for seafood! And this time we only sat in the bar area but the food and cocktails were still on point. 👌💯

My friends and decided to have fine dining there instead of going to the Crab Shack because they provide truly fresh seafood. The food quality is really high. We had salmon and king fish cooked with puree and cheese. They tasted amazing. But the entree did not worth the price given its too salty flavor.

Excellent food and wine and the service was superb! Marko served us all night and his fantastic knowledge about the produce on menu made our meal such an enjoyable experience. He made amazing recommendations and I would 100% go back again. A little more expensive than your average but worth every penny!

My friend and I had starter, main and dessert and all 3 courser were delicious and beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed the Ika mata as an entré. It was one of the nicest and most interesting raw fish dish I have ever tasted. Also the chocolate mouse with rosemary, tangelo and olive oil ice cream is worth a try.

Great food that was surprisingly really filling. Our waitress Ines was awesome. Weve had her twice now and she was absolutely on to it, friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best dining experiences in Wellington.

We were visiting from out of town and decided to check this place out. Food was pretty good for the most part meals came out within a good time frame. Initially it was quite hard to get a table although the place wasn’t busy and we ended up sitting in the bar for a considerable amount of time without anyone taking a drink order from us either. The service was a little bit lacking overall I’m however this was made up by the food. I’ve been to this establishment a couple times before however first time it was a bit of a let down considering the amount that we paid for dinner. I hope this is an isolated incident .

Our go to for a special dinner or for overseas visitors. Always first class service, New Zealand cuisine and wine! On the Wellington waterfront with plenty of nearby parking.

Shed5 provides the best and fresh seafood in town. We ordered blader market fish and duck roll, the taste was speechlessly delicious. You can pick a seat near window - the sun light would make your experience more wonderful!

Loved the setting and location. Our waitress, Eleanor was delightful and enhanced our evening beautifully. Great food well presented and tasty. The scampi spaghetti was very good and the desserts Devine.

delicious meal & some dishes are very particular & we hardly to see in other restaurants. Service always good too. Whats why we got her every few months.

Wow! Was really impressed with the friendly efficient service. The view is relaxing and the table is beautifully set out. We went for a light lunch and found the entrees to be a reasonable and good size for lunch along with some fresh bread and a few oysters. The food was delicious and a good variety of wines as well. We were disappointed that we couldnt get fresh oysters that day but the lightly battered ones were really tasty.
