Smith Tower, 508 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104, United States, Seattle
Neighborhood pub bringing together traditional Irish food, draft beers & regular trivia nights.
It was a delight to find a great place to eat within walking distance of our hotel. The food was amazing. I an English and know how to cook Shepherds Pie but this one at Saun ODonalds was the best I have ever tasted. And was not disappointed with the desert. Service was top notch. Recommend this place highly.
Perfect pregame bar. Great staff, simple menu, cold beer.
Great food at a great. The meatloaf was excellent complemented by the mashed potatoes and vegetables.. highly recommended Shawn ODonnells.
Good simple Irish Pub with great food and very friendly staff. Fast service and great selection of beers on tap.
As we were gently caressed in the Glory that is IrishPub Nirvana, we danced the morning away & emailed the moon to our mood. Jay is Grrrrrreat as well.
This place is amazing!! My first time here. The beer , food and atmosphere are great!! Loved listening to the music. The server was so nice. I found it they have live music. Will definitely be coming back for that!
If your a fan of grunge its a must to visit. Nirvana played their 1st ever gig to 15 people here 🤘
Great price on a Bloody Mary and the clam chowder hit the spot. Rachel is a fantastic bartender. She made my first stop in Seattle memorable helping me with directions to my next stop.
The bartender amd everyone is so sweet. I loved their customer service, their food and drinks. I will definitely go back.
Cool little spot to stop in for a few beers or quick bite. The guy behind the bar was amazing all around. To notch service. Small selection of local/ regional crafts.. along with the Irish Pub staples. Had the Irish meatloaf.. was just so so for me. Remainder of the menu looked good however.Id recommend for sure!
Food was good but service was mediocre. The waitress seemed a bit rude and stand offish. Price was good.
We stopped by for a few beers and found a friendly atmosphere and cold, tasty beer accompanied by some simple comfort food happy hour specials (running 3-6)! Guinness, Smithwicks, and Harp flow freely as does the Irish music pumping out from the speakers. Would gladly visit again!
Very nice atmosphere and large portions. Wait staff was exceptional. I loved the "picture " in the guiness foam
Good food and service. Nice atmosphere as well, enjoyed our lunch!
I had the shepherds pie and the fish and chips here. The shepherds pie was warm and hearty, and the fish and chips were crispy and tasty. The pieces of fish were dipped in breadcrumbs instead of batter, which is a style I havent tried before, but they were nonetheless delicious. The portion sizes were generous and the prices reasonable.
Not enough priority or care is given to Uber eats/ doordash orders. Theres only one hostess typically who is too busy with seven tables to go to the kitchen and bring orders up, so they sit there sometimes up to 10 minutes.Food is good, but staff needs more help from management
We stopped in here for a Guinness and a Smithwicks and ended up having a delicious meal as well. Started by sharing the clam chowder and a salad, both delicious. Then we shared the chicken pot pie. Totally recommend all of it. Strongly suggest that if youre in Seattle, go here! Jay is awesome. Tell him "hi" when you drop in.
We really liked this place. The facility was fine, it was pretty standard Irish bar action. The Bartender was great, he was chatty and upbeat. The food was excellent, we got the Reuben and the Monte Cristo and both had plenty of meat and lots of flavor. The beer selection was good, and you can get custom images printed on your Guinness : The mixed drinks were also good, and my wife ended up with 3 of them lol.
The pot pie was absolutely amazing. One of the best ive ever tasted. Had a great atmosphere that made me and my group of 6 feel comfortable. Good drinks as well!
We split the fish and chips and the Reuben sandwich. Both were very good along with some fries and of course the Guinness beer with that totally amazing Mona Lisa etched into the foam head of the beer.
Great Irish pub with excellent food. The fish and chips were terrific. Also a great selection of Irish beer, including my favorite. Guinness.
Friendly quick service. Average Irish pub food.
Really nice staff and tasty food. I had the shepherds pie 3x! Location was very close to the Marriott so it was a great choice. Seeing the baseball and college logos on the Guinness foam was a neat truck and a cool feature.I can highly recommend the shepherds pie and the chicken pot pie. The clam chowder and burger are also outstanding. Very busy on game days, but again the staff is GREAT!
This is a fantastic authentic looking Irish Pub. The handcrafted design makes you feel very happy to be there! Excellent array of beer options and delicious food to boot! When in downtown Seattle, give Shawn O’Donnell’s a go!!
Our first time visiting Seattle, we ate at this restaurant twice because it was so good and super close to where we were staying. Great atmosphere, delicious food, drinks were made excellent.
Great little pub to pre-game before a Mariners or Seahawks game. Good whiskey selection and fun apps.
Wonderful small Irish pub in the historic Smith Tower. Simple fair at good prices.I had the Chicken Pot Pie, my wife had Fish and chips.
Really good food and fantastic service. Don’t be scared away by the « family friendly » label — it seemed very chill when we went.
Great food, had the fish and chips. Substituted onion rings since the kitchen was out of fries but they have very good onion rings. Took a chance on the clam chowder despite some negative reviews on other posts, its amazing. Definitely coming back next time were in Seattle.
"God created liquor to keep the Irish from conquering the world" and he blessed ODonnells to give a place that reminds us of home. This IS that place. The Guinness Irish Beef Stew would make my Nana weep with joy and the Irish Poutine is SINFULLY amazing. You miss this place and you will regret it.
Found this place while exploring Pioneer Square. Sketchy neighborhood - warm and friendly restaurant.Service was 5-stars. Morgan rocked and took excellent care of us.Food - standard Irish pub fare. The fish and chips were excellent with a flavorful crust rather than a tempura-like coating.Must save room for the bread pudding!!!
Ended up coming here on a last stop through Seattle with the family. What a fantastic place!!! Food & drinks were great & we had Rachael for our waitress & she was fantastic. Easily fit right in with us & the pub decor is awesome!! Ended up meeting Mr. ODonnell himself while there and having a great conversation. Dont pass this place up if you have the chace to stop. Get the fish and chips !!!! We will be sure to stop anytime we end up back in Seattle.
The food was phenomenal...rich, creamy, and hearty. I got the Irish Whiskey Mac & Cheese...the corned beef melted in my mouth, along with the smooth, cheesy sauce and noodles. My parents shared a Reuben....the meat was tender and flavorful. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. If youve got a few days in Seattle...I definitely think its worth visiting. Just make sure you check when they stop serving food...they were open until 9pm....but the kitchen closed much earlier than that...we got there with 15 minutes left to order food.
Very versatile bar, good for the family, as a sports bar, eatery, and pub. You wont be disappointed in the shepherds pie, rueben, or Guinness (trust be its creamier/smoother here because they keep the tap active).
the food is awesome and the staff were lovely :the shepphards pie can feed me for a whole day!
I used to live in Seattle about 10 years ago, and I recently went back to visit to see if I wanted to move back. Sean ODonnells was one of the restaurants that was still in business back when I lived in Seattle and so I got to revisit it on my trip. The quality of the food is still fantastic, the staff is still pleasant and friendly, the atmosphere is laid back and familiar, and their Monte cristos are still decidedly non-vegetarian friendly but damn Delicious! (Not complaining at all, whatsoever, just pointing out that Im a bad vegetarian)Trying to swing by for their happy hour between 3:00 and 6:00, and if you hate crowds as much as I do for the love of God avoid the place during any sort of baseball, football, or hockey game.
Randomly selected after the football game. This place...RECOMMEND 100% if you want a burger, a salad, a quesadilla, an appetizer, whatever you want they have it. Its a super cute bar with amazingly friendly staff and the food....Holy moly the food!! I cant even begin with how tasteful the food was. If you like quesadillas recommend! If you LOVE fries like I do, HIGHLY recommend, if you like burgers...GET! IT!So glad we dropped in! Will definitely be coming again.Edit! Had the creme Brule....comes with a shamrock sugar cookie...nuff said. Hands down the best! Love it!
A disgrace. Poorly prepared food. The fish ‘N Chips had the texture of chicken, the Clam Chowder was surprisingly SLIMY, the Pot Pie was a tray of “chicken mix” with a crust sitting on top. They should be ashamed. An apology is due to Irish chefs around the Globe. Gordon Ramsay would be appalled. Never again.
Traditional Corned beef, mushroom burguers, mac and cheese! Oh and get the cider is delish! Very good place for a quick bite. The service was quick, and food was on point. I recommend it if you are near Pioneer square. Enjoy!
My friends and I had initially wanted to go into the bar at Smith tower which Im sure is very nice, but they charge $20 just to go up there so we decided to just go down a few doors into this Irish pub and it was a very pleasant surprise! Our waitress, Rachel, was charismatic and funny, truly made our night! not to mention the drinks and bread pudding(picturedwere absolutely delicious!
Decided to try this place and it was amazing! I am a huge burger fanatic and had the Rasher Burger and it is definitely in my top tier of burgers I ever had! I usually judge a place by it’s burgers and this place has definitely earned a repeat customer to try the other options! Will definitely be back for more
The food was great but our server didnt really check up on us. Wasnt sure what kind of sauce was on my mashed potatoes she said she didnt kno didnt really want to find out from kitchen staff. Other than that it was great
Super busy as we went between the end of a Mariners game and start of a Sounders game but we still got prompt and great attention. Didnt eat anything but great beer selection and even better whiskey selection.
Great Irsh pub at the lower level of the Smith Tower. Traditional menu with shanty music playing and a few TV scattered about to watch sports. Looks like a great place to watch a game. We had the fish and chips which were a very good size with a nice crispy batter. The chicken pot pie was also a good portion, perfect comfort food after walking in the snow! We dined there twice over a snowy weekend, as our flight was cancelled 3 times! Hotels by the airport were booked so we reutned back on the Link and stayed in Pioneer Square. This restaurant was one of very few open for indoor or outdoor dining. Servers were in good spirits. Good social distancing, clean, everyone wore masks except while eating of course. They also accept the Passport dining card, thats how we found the place and it was a block from our hotel.
It was wonderful being able to sit in, the service was great and the atmosphere was awesome. I felt as if I was back in Ireland.
Anna was an amazing waitress the food was fresh and worth every penny I ordered the Irish stew as well as the Irish coffee and soda bread and bread pudding it was absolutely delicious I have no complaints
My new favorite Reuben! Cabbage had a fantastic kick, love the Havarti bump of flavor. Ruins the curve for everyone else.Great fries and the Long Island was done right!
All you can eat fries comes with sandwiches, burgers, etc. Great prices when without happy hour. Fish and chips were crispy and really great breading. Fries were perfectly cooked. Beers for $6.50 (20oz!!)
Six for dinner. Start with great, authentic Irish music playing as you enter the bar and grill. Id say the most difficult thing to decide is what to eat. Absolutely everything on the menu made me salivate and imagine eating each thing. My solution was genius--i sample a little of each thing my dining companions ordered.I got the chicken pot pie and shared a few bites of mine with everyone. I tasted the Corned beef and cabbage; and the macaroni and cheese, etc. The braised cabbage and corned beef was my favorite, the macaroni and cheese with small pieces of corned beef, my second, and my pot pie, my third--all good.Decor, of course, is part and parcel of what really makes an Irish pub. Without the acoutremount, the beer on tap, the Irish harp, the pithy Irish blessings and sayings on plaques on the walls, mirrors, music, the color green, etc., what is a pub? Yes, all present. Plus, the great grub.Parking, of course, is non existent, except for paid parking, perhaps across the street. Outdoor seatings available, as is both booth and bar seating. Reservations can be made, but when we tried, we could not get through to a live person, and the online scheduler didnt work. We gave up and chanced a walk-in. Thurs. evening, we were seated right away-few people were in the restaurant.
This place was a happy little discovery while walking around Seattle at 7pm. We went in because it looked pretty empty; had no wait and the food and beers were excellent. The only small downside was the waitress took a little longer than wed like with the check, but it wasnt the end of the world.Strongly recommend the bread pudding.
