Al Shuwaihean - Sharjah - United Arab Emirates, Sharjah
Modern 3-story museum featuring stylish galleries with more than 500 pieces by Arab artists.
The best place for art lovers is located in the heart of Sharjah 💗
Entry is free. The art work is lovely, it just was not fully stocked. Only the 2nd floor had art when I was there. The art they had was very beautiful. Definitely worth a visit

Over all the museum is set up in a linear manner room after room which makes a narrative easier to navigate. Great collection, good curating.
Great place. Lovely ambience. Master works in display. Free entrance and parking.
A must see lovely staff And a very helpful tour guide free entry takes about two hours so see ( gorgeous pieces of Art)

Beautiful well managed and well maintained museum. Easy accessible place with good parking facility. Lot of historical, scientific information and equipments to see and explore. Very informative place.
I was really blown away by this museum when i first went six months ago. The collection was stunning. Though my recent visit wasnt quite as impressive as some of the pieces changed, Id still give it five stars given its status as a true gem of Sharjah (plus free entry!).
Amazing place and I recommend it for whoever loves arts.
This museum has a place of its own when it comes to art and ancient civilization. Showcasing the life of ancient people of Persia and their ways of livelihood. The paintings are really spectacular both in terms of meaning and acknowledgement.
I loved the Arab art there
Amust visit museumNew art ..New ideas together with historical art works
This is the best islamic art museum that Ive seen so far. Most of the items are quite relevant to our experiences, each has its own association, so it brings meaning to our visit. Hope you enjoy this to the same extent as I did.
Great museum .. love the oriental paintings at the permanent collection and the Arabian artworks and paintings
The museum have good collection of artworks. They conduct art festivals too. Its an opportunity to meet international artists.
Great place for Art lovers
Great place to explore Arab artist and their art. Also the interior architecture is stunning. Morning times is the best for exploring without any distruption.

I wont say its awesome. Its just okay. The main minus I felt was, the number of artworks displayed is very less compared to the space available. Very big building but they have not utilized the space properly. Since the entry is free, you wont feel disappointed after your visit. It would have been better if they had included more sculptures and exhibits. However, its a good place to visit for art lovers.
Best exhibitions with well known artists always get hosted here. The museum has so many galleries that take place together so in every 2-3 months there will be something new to see. Free entry and offers free educational programmes for schools, families, and adults. Make sure to ask the reception for details.
Amazing exhibition of the work or David Roberts, lovely display... must see

Great paintings and well organized Museum , had the knowledge of many artists and their work in art
Superb art gallery and collections. Oil paint section was awesome. Nice lighting arrangements. They was offering very nice customer services. Recommending to increase the collections. The main attraction is its free of cost. The entry absolutely free. We can have a different experience by visiting the museum. Sharjah Museums Authority - SMA (Sharjah Museums Department – SMD previouslywas established in 2006 by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as an independent government department. With the opening of this stunning museum, you can now visit one of the largest art exhibitions in the Gulf region, which contains permanent collections and paintings by renowned artists. Throughout the year, the museum holds a variety of temporary exhibitions and art events. The museum has a great art collection which we enjoyed watching. You would spend between 1-2 hours in this place, depending on how deeply you want to immerse yourself into art. There is a large collection on the 1st floor and its made of 2 wings representing two different art galleries.
Beautiful museum with wonderful and well composed collection of the most intriguing arabic paintings! Obligatory to see, when in UAE.
Very interesting museum that displays not only works from Middle East, and some Western views as well. I like the material displayed and there are transitory expositions as well. When I went the museum was empty and it was very atmospheric to walk along the long corridors by myself. The cafe of the museum doesn’t offer anything, just water and coffee basically. The museum is free and I think it’s totally worth it if you’re around and like arts in general.
Situated in the midst of lots of tiny alleys, the Sharjah Art Museum was a Really great place. Lots of galleries with looads of great contemporaty and old artworks, with a central focus on Arab artists and pieces in the upper gallery, whilst the lower gallery (ground flooris about temporary exhibitions. Not many people (went on a Sat morning), but staff were nice and friendly.Paid parking outside (5dhs for 2 hours), and nice area to walk around with traditional architecture and creek as well. Lots of clothing shops nearby and some food places if you walk a little further away.Overall great for art lovers.
The Sharjah Art Museum is the centerpiece of the Arts Area in Sharjah. Located in a large building, this museum is extremely spacious and has a good collection of art, both in its permanent gallery as well as from the temporary exhibitions. The museum is so large that, it can hold many exhibitions simultaneously.Entrance to the museum is free and one needs to deposit their belongings in lockers near the reception. Galleries are well-spread out. The museum has many wings, each hosting a different exhibition. From local artists to international collections of note, this has something of all. From paintings to sculptures and artworks, there is a lot to see and admire here. One can easily spend 2-3 hours just taking in all the collections this museum has to offer. To get here, one must closely follow directions as per Google Maps, as the building is in a rather busy area and not that easy to find. While here, one can also check out the art collections at the Bait Al Serkal next door.
Great museum with several exhibitions. Currently showing a fantastic photography exhibitions a great permanent collection of Sharjahs ruler. And a decoration show for Anderson fairytales. The museum provides lots of room for the artwork to be shown, friendly staff and its even free of charge. Could use a nicer cafe or any decent place to have a bite nearby.
Visited Dubai/Sharja 3 times, last visit was in 2018. Beautiful place and really modernized by the rulers. Number of sites to view are worth seeing. A small area of Sharja still under developed but work was in process to uplift it.
Cool Museum with a nice aesthetic. Its suitable for quick and fast artistic inspirations. However, the interactive section was the best part as well as the red euthiopian section. I wouldnt recommend this for a family visit as it contains art that is not fully appropriate.
Amazing place takes you back to ancient times. There is a lot paintings for famous artists. Got a library for books and a gift shop. It is safe to go visit as they have all the necessary precautions for covid.
Great place. Very peaceful. However the guy at the reception asked where I was from. felt uncomfortable about it. Other than that. Its a beautiful place however the timings should be increased!
Liberating! Healing! Fun!Very beautiful view with lots antiques. Surrounding is picturesque. First visit but Im totally coming back here.
Rediscover your artistic side at this art museum. It has an amazing collection of art work of various artists from Arab countries from various time periods. I was enthralled by the amazing art works, the attention to details in some of the paintings and different styles of paintings.
Great place to visit. HAs it’s own free parking for visitors. Some stunning “ grand tour” art from 1800 David Roberts for example. Plus lots of middle East artists work. A lovely cafe too
Do you like artwork? Well then, Sharjah Art Museum is a must visit museum, amazing Arabic artwork.
It’s a great place to celebrate ART, calm and cozy and the staff are helpful. Only thing they don’t have a prayer room otherwise it’s good to go if you’re in sharjah
this is a awesome place for art lovers. should visit here. no fees charged here for visit. it’s totally different from any other places from art related experience. here have exhibiting some painting work of some arabic artists.
Had a great time! The museum is not very big, which allows you to focus on every painting while still providing a wide range of different exhibits.
A great place to spend a couple of hours. We visited it during the Sharja art festival. It was a great experience especially for our kids who are interested in art as they love to draw using different mediums. The old souq is across the street. You can buy some traditional pots and items.
It is an excellent museum for art lovers. The entrance with wooden door. The museum is fascinating and everyone stay typically for an hour. .. The upper floor had more traditional oil paintings on canvas and wood. ..collection in the museum is very good and I think its worth visiting. Finally entry is kept free. ...
