What a beautiful museum. Its now my daughters favorite spot on the planet. There are numerous enjoyable activities for children. The main attraction is "The Dig," where children can dress up as archaeologists and search for artifacts in the sand (these pieces are actual replicas of objects in the museum!Isnt it amazing? Furthermore, there are interactive displays and numerous activities available throughout the exhibitions, ranging from ceramic restoration to coloring hieroglyphs to puzzles or playing hand shadow on the wall. Highly recommend it.

Great place for kids. My toddler enjoyed digging for treasures in the sand.

Its soooo great. Really interesting. There is at the moment an exhibition about the village at the time of pharaos. There are a lot of activities for kids for example there is a dig; kids can dig around in sand to try to find a trinket, among other things. This museum is a must do

Amazing

Very good for kids, well maintained and cheap such that all kids can visit and learn. Excellent place to visit for kids interested in archaeology, iron age, bronze age, mummies etc. Kids are also given pots to fix and paint and the staff are very friendly.

Wonderful place for a family outing, specially for kids. Ticket 0-2 years free, 5-12 years 5 dhs and adults 10 dhs. For elderly people they allow one person free entry with them. The whole place can be viewed in 1½ hour. At the end of the tour the kids get to paint an earthen pot for free and the adults can paint a tile. There is also a souvenir shop. The bathrooms are really clean. It closes at 8 pm so keep around 30-40 minutes for pottery painting. Very friendly staff.

Visiting any museum is Sharjah, is an experience....They all are travel machine.

I was surprised by how much it offers. I wasnt expecting this much tbh. Entrance fee is 10dirhem per person (as of today).

It a fantastic experience that shows the history of the UAE region through the Stone Age, Iron Age and Bronze Age. It is a must visit for those interested in getting one step closer to understanding the UAE.

It was just amazing, so informative, clean, temp checks are done at the entrance. The digging section was so fun, kids found alot of things and they have free workshops at the end of the tour. We chose the pottery one which is joining broken pieces and then they give you paint to decorate. Its free and comes included! Its surprising that you get to keep it in just 5 dhs!

It was really a great experience with good hospitality and amazing management. Since I didn’t know Arabic so the tour guide named “ Mr YAQOOB did a wonderful job by explaining all museum details in English and explained it so well that my kids loved the overall experience of the museum a lot.

What a hidden gem! I cant believe how many historical artefacts they have here. We had the place to ourselves which is a shame as we learnt so much and were blown away by the amount of information provided and items on display. Do yourself a favour and spend a few hours here learning more about the origins of this amazing country. And all for only 10 dirhams!

We went this morning with my children aged 2 to 8 years old. They had an amazing and memorable time doing the different activities around ancient egypt. Excellent place for adults n children

V Nice museum with lots of history details showing old era. They have a special area for children where they can dig the sand and find hidden treasure. Although it was not allowed to take it but still kids were happy with this activity.In 1-2 hour you can visit the whole museums but with kids 30-45min will be enough.Tickets: adults 10aed kids 5aed

This museum shows the different ages of history of evolution. They have a good collection of exhibits. We went on a weekday so it was less crowded. Very clean and well maintained.

Very interesting museum comparing to Dubai archeological museums and local villages. Big collections. Spent 1.5h and was not enough to read all. But can be passed during 20-30 min too, if with childs.

Excellent without being ostentatious. Has plenty of parking and a must for history buffs wanting to know more about the region. Good staff.Next door to each other so went to both on the same morning. The archaeology museum was huge, surprising how old some of the artefacts were. Very well presented.

As soon as you enter the museum you are faced with a serene and harmonious atmosphere. I was greeted by the staff in an excellent way and given the best directions to visit the museum. The rooms are large and the artifacts are harmonious and organic, interspersed with explanatory videos and signs describing the materials on display. It is also worth noting the attention paid to the didactic path and the fact that every indication is easily understandable even for children. The museum is therefore an example of exhibition and teaching, which allows visitors and scholars to meet the daily life, customs and habits of the ancient people of this beautiful country.

I loved the Museum. Especially the grave finds with groups of scelettons in perfect shape, with their jewellery still in place. But also the rich collection of objects starting from the stone age up to late pre-islamic times. I had been out to the Mleiha Archeological Center before, which made the visit of the museum even more meaningful, having seen some of the excavation sites where the objects were found. I recommend visiting also the Mleiha Archelogical Center, which offer different activities to discover not only the archeological sites, but also experience the desert and outdoors activities of various types.

I decided to go to Museum of Archeology in Sharjah for their temporary exhibition of “The Echo of Caravans: Pre-Islamic Civilization Sites in Saudi Arabia” (until Jan 31, 2019). I enjoyed this exhibition a lot and since getting a tourist visa to KSA is very difficult, I did not want to miss it. Plus KSA is a big country, it requires commitment to visit these major sites on one trip. The museum also houses many precious and significant artifacts from the archeological sites in UAE. There are many things that I love, but specifically, the gold horse bridles. The reconstruction of the tomb of Al Buhais 18 is another favorite - especially how the jewelry of one of the women buried there was excavated as it was found settling on her crushed skull. Very interesting. For archeology enthusiasts, this museum is a must-see.

A real very interesting place where the story about UAE and whole GCC past is to seen. A absolut advice to visit. With unbelievable authentique statues and founds.

Archeological museum have great collection of ancient remaings found in excavations around UAE. they have preserved veriety of exhibits in an Time line order. Great place for similar taste people and kids

Sharjah archaeological museum has a great collection of pottery, daggers, beads and pearl jewellery and other artefacts which were found during excavations in Sharjah, Mleiha and Kalba regions from Bronze age, Stone age and pre-Islamic era. Theres also a collection of coins from Roman and other Mesopotamian period. But I liked the Islamic Civilization museum more than this one.

Lovely place! Not all the taxis know where this is nowdays, show them your map. Littlebit distant & peacefull. Take all the time to explore the relics, take more than 2 hours!!! The Staff is very helpful and they have this speed-dial taxi-line for your purpose.
