My regular place in Tampere, I always eat here when visiting the town if possible. Generous portions, friendly staff, decent prices. Kääg chicken is amazing. One of the best fast food places I know in Finland.

This restaurant has maintained large portions, low prices, and absolutely the best tasting meals for years. The chicken kääk is the best chinese meal you can find anywhere. Absolutely ❤️ it.

When I arrived at Shanghai Chinese Restaurant my fist impression wasn’t anything special since it’s a very small place. While ordering my food I noticed that the staff was very friendly. While eating the staff was always smiling at customers and was very nice towards everyone. I myself had ordered some noodles with shrimp and enjoyed it. The portion size was pretty big, but just a quick ask from the staff and they’ll give you a box for taking the rest with you.I give this restaurant 4 stars because the staff was very nice and the food was good. I didn’t give it five stars because the noodles were maybe a little too greasy and when I walked in one of the tables was pretty dirty. Even tho, I would totally come to Shanghai Chinese Restaurant again.

Affordable, basic chinese.

Affordable Chinese restaurant close to the city centre. It offers a fair variety of Chinese dishes for eat-in as well as takeaway. Dont think twice to visit Shanghai if you want some fine Chinese food. Opening hours is pretty convenient. Both English and Finnish languages work here. And its not too difficult to find or reach too.On my first visit on a Sunday late evening, I ordered chicken fried rice and chilly chicken gravy. The food was delicious, and arrived in 10 minutes, although there were takeaway orders in between.

Probably best friend rice in the area of Tampere for as far as I know. Ordered from it as a takeaway 3 times, went there twice, and going to continue ordering from there.

This small and cosy restaurant makes very very tasty food.I decided to write this review right after I tasted their curry chicken (just amazing!). Its a little spicy bur creamy, and the chicken is so tender. My spouse told to mark chicken kääg as his favourite. Its too spicy to my taste, but those who like it hot should really appreciate it. Also lemon sauce chicken is pretty nice, its for the days you dont feel like spice.Anyways! Very nice crew and good food I recommend!

This is my favorite place for Chinese takeout food and I resort to someplace else only during the summer weeks they are closed for vacation. Ive been coming here for years because of the steady quality of dishes; you always know what you will get. You can dine in the restaurant, and I do that when I have time and interest to try new dishes, but the number of seats is quite small and the place is popular so you should be prepared to take it out. They have the menu online so you can call in your order and fetch it after 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the current workload of the kitchen. Recommended.

The best chinese food in Tampere. Great quality, 10 euros for food that can last for two meals. Large enough menu to give even vegans several delicious options.Only complaint is that the restaurant is pretty small, though beautifully decorated. The take out menu practically the same, so this isnt a problem for me.

On a first glace looks like an average Oriental restaurant, but Shanghais "Kääg"-sauce is one of the hottest sauces Ive ever eaten in any restaurant in Finland. Not only is it hot, but it also tastes great. Serving sizes are huge and very cheap for what you get.

This is by far the best place in Finland for fried rice/ Asian food. If you are sick of over-oily or too dried Chinese fried food, this is the place for you. The fried rice here is the must try trust me, and you can eat it with anything. Price is decent given the central location. 9€ to eat in and the portion is huge. We called 2 dishes which costs in total 22€ (fried rice and water includedbut the leftover is more than enough for my next day lunch.The other day we had meal for 2 with soup starter, rice, 2 meat dishes and banana icecream dessert: fantastic.Quick and nice service.Spoiler alert: the folks here are Vietnamese actually, not Chinese :)

Casual place with quite basic menu, but the taste has always been excellent, prices affordable, and the staff friendly so this has become our go-to place when were out around town or just feeling too lazy to make our own meals. Takeaway foods also seem popular based on the continuous flow of people picking up their orders, but we havent tried those ourself.

Was only trying to look for a quick bite near the railway station and found this place. Staff is friendly and service quick. Very surprised at the quality of their fried noodles (tofu and shrimp). Felt like hitting jackpot unexpectedly. Price is reasonable (€9 for tofu noodles and €4.5ish for a single serving soupwith good portion size.

This might not be your typical Chinese food restaurant (I would label it an Asian food restaurantbut I can say that I like the food in this place! There is a wide selection of options in the menu and the food seems to be freshly made. The menu clearly indicates which items are spicy and how spicy so you cant really get surprised. Overall a good place. Worth a visit!

Average, but tasty Chinese food. The chili chicken was quite spicy, but good. The sweet and sour chicken was good as expected, but the sauce contained quite big chunks of tomato which I dont really like.

The restaurant is quite bare with little atmosphere, but the food is great. Recommend the chicken kääg for friends of spicy foods.

Bang for the bucks! The food is good and fairly priced for a student budget. One minus is that all dishes (at least tofutaste quite same after a while. Maybe they are using the same curry base for quickening the cooking.

If the food has been excellent in the past, something mustve happened. Food tastes more or less the same than most of the so-called Chinese food in Tampere. There are better and worse places than Shanghai, but I wouldnt venture here unless I lived next door. Price-quantity ratio is good, though.

Best quality/price "chinese" in Tampere.. And with "captions" -I mean that come on, you cannot get proper chinese food in Europe. :DHeat level of Kääg varies by the angry-factor of the chef so beware! :)

It is my favorite Chinese restaurant! There is a nice atmosphere, usually you dont need to wait too much and the staff are friendly. So far I have loved all the meals I have ordered, specially the chicken and cashew nuts! The meals are always large, delicious and for a totally reasonable price.
