The best Guinness I have had for 25 years!

Fish baramundi was bland, dry and not tasty. Chilli chicken better to name it as curry chicken instead and rest good service and friendly staff.

What a great Hobart pub. On a cold day its the best place to go and enjoy their open fire, friendly staff and terrific meals that are competitively priced along with a good selection of beers on tap. A must go kind of place in Hobart that is a 10min walk from the centre of the city 👍👍🍺

Came at peak lunch time, so very busy, but the staff made it look easy. Youll get everything you want at this Irish Australian pub, we had the Shamrock burger and the grilled fish of the day, which was barramundi. The burger is huge, and tastes great, just need to use a knife and fork. Barramundi was nice, but a little dry. Sides and beers were equally tasty. Overall, a great pub.

Solid pub meals, a central go to the Shammy is a favourite place for a work team lunch, be sure to book a table unless solo and grabbing a front bar seat if ones free.

Very disappointing we ordered entrees they came out not even 5 minutes later our mains came out we hadnt finish our entrees very poor service

Cant rate the food or service highly enough, and the value was amazing!!! We were so impressed, that even though we were only in Tassie for 4 days, we ate dinner here twice!! The steaks here were better than one of the supposed "high end" resturants we ate at in Hobart!!!

Dont know about the accommodation, but the food is good and reasonably priced and the staff have always been very friendly! Highly recommend!

There is nothing better than a friendly classic Aussie pub. We called in here for lunch and a beer on a Saturday afternoon. The place was filled with a mixture of locals and visitors. Guiness on tap which made my husband happy. The food was really good and value for money is incredible. We both got chicken snitzels and the meals were large and filling and delicious....and the price was soooo cheap for what you got.If we had been staying in Hobart longer we wouldve eaten here multiple times. A great find.

This placed USED to be great but now it’s nothing short of terrible. The Chef is a rude and vulgar person who will practically bully his customers. We could hear him swearing from the kitchen while we were in the dining area. Even the staff told us that he has a bad reputation and receives many complaints. Do not go to this place due to “having a great experience a few years ago” as this is just not the case anymore. 0/5 Stars if it was possible!!!

waited 40 minutes for a steak to find out my docket hadnt been added to the chefs list. NOT HAPPY, poor service, hopefully better next time.Update: i have now received my steak but instead of the ordered vegies i was given chips. the service just gets better.... downgrading to 1 star.

Great food, old style pub and meals

Good service, food was awful. Chicken schnitzel cooked to a crisp, steak was tough definitely an old dairy cow. Never again. Caesar salad was nice.

Went to this hotel for dinner twice during our 4 night stay in Hobart recently. We found the meals to be of a high standard with plenty of options for main and dessert. The prices were also VERY reasonable. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. Would recommend.

Thank goodness for this pub!I was in Hobart for a few days, and I couldnt find anywhere open to eat in the evenings, outside of subway and a lot of Asian cuisines (which unfortunately isnt my tasteand I was feeling increasingly desperate to locate somewhere to get a good easy meal.I stumbled upon this little pub and honestly its a absolute gem.Good food, good service, simple and warm atmosphere, good location, and serves food on Sunday nights too!I ate here the remaining 3 nights of my trip to Hobart and Im sad I wont be able to go again.If youre looking for a quick good meal, lots of variety and good servings at great prices, hit them up.I also highly reccomend "the wedge parmy" and their soup of the day, YUM!

I haven’t written a review in a while… but the food here was stone cold which was really disappointing! I had a good expectation walking in, but unfortunately upon my food arriving, it was piping hot on the outside but dead cold in the middle… very dissatisfied

Shamrock is a consistent pub! We find their menu and service is reliable and good. We always order the parmis, but havent made it to their special parmi night yet! Good prices for good food.

8 of us went to Shamrock and 8 of us will not return. Scotch fillets (3 of theminedible and mainly grissle. I asked for veges with mine, got chips. After 2 bites of steak, realised there was no point in trying to chew it any further put plate aside and went across the street to Curry House and ordered take away, to take home. Didnt bother asking for it to be changed as waitress was in a foul mood and dropping the plates on the table from a height that made a loud clanging noise. We were respectful to her and not abusive to deserve that treatment. DEB mashed potatoe, vegetales straight out of a frozen packet. Worst pub meal ive been to in Hobart. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Highly recommend the Shamrock Hotel for delicious meals at great prices. Jake the barman suggested the Thai Beef Salad as the menus hidden gem and it didnt disappoint - a huge serving with quality ingredients.Amazing! My partner enjoyed a burger, which he literally couldnt wrap his mouth around. Fabulous tucker. Thanks Jake and crew.

Great staff, great environment, great prices however, the meals itself were average. Roast was good, steak was undercooked. In Their defence, it was a 550gram steak. Only 27 dollars

The salt and pepper calamari made me throw up and it was very salty.The steak was raw and the chips were cold when we got them.Cleanliness needs to be addressed, they don’t clean anything in here. The floor is hairy and dusty, the bathrooms are disgusting and the cutlery had crusted food still on it.Spend your money elsewhere, it’s full of bogans for a reason.

Lunch at The Shamrock...l asked my waitress Jess for a meal not on the menu...she organised it straight away...l asked for Chicken with Lemon cream sauce...The Chicken was grilled to perfection...the sauce should be their signature sauce... Jess you are the best waitress..

It wasnt the best but still good as it was only $14. Usually though I think they are $19.You can choose chips and salad or potatoes and vegetables

I absolutely love this place for a quick meal.. Meals are available from 11am until late.. no set times.. Excellent fire place going in winter.. friendly quick service.. Excellent for a quick bite or friendly drink

Been here a few times, a few years back when living in Tassie and a couple of times this month while on holiday. Classic pub food, downstairs bar has a good atmosphere. Good serving sizes, quality for the price is pretty good too, plus theres a bunch of hot sauces to try. Thing that pushes this place from 4 stars to 5 is the customer service, Jack took great care of us tonight. Will keep coming back.

First time at the Shamrock last night and we were impressed. Half price pints between 4-6pm Thursday and Friday. The food portions were massive. $14 for the burger and $21 for the monster Parma. Tasted like any other standard Parma I’ve had over the years (not the best I’ve had thoughbut a much better price and portion size. Will be back. Cheers.

Another delicious meal had. This is our regular. My partner likes his steak blue and over the 2 years of eating here, he has never been disappointed. We dont try new pubs as nothing compares to Shamrocks quality and price in town. One of my favourites!

WOW!! Not one to eat take a ways often. But just had a beef Parmi, Chips and Salad, A Chicken Parmi, and Vegetables, And Pavlova, Ice cream and Strawberries. Very Reasonable prices, And the meat was so Tender, Salad was so crisp and fresh, Great Service. Well worth a visit.

Great atmosphere, and service, value and food. Its good for a group of people.We went in without a booking, and the pub was packed on a Friday night. We were lucky to get a seat on the side.I ordered the steak, and requested 2 sauces, the steak was not too grisleyc and was a decent portion size, and went the quality tasted good. My dining companion had the parma, he enjoyed that also. The staff were attentive on the side, they had a range of sauces available.

Just enjoyed an awesome scotch fillet steak at the Shamrock, it was certainly worth the walk here. Steak was cooked perfectly to my liking medium rare and the garlic seafood sauce was also nice. Great value

Food is delicious. And staff is super friendly and helpful. If you are looking something really good food, you are at the right place. The quantity is more and price is quite affordable. Ambiance is also really good. Also try the huge collection hot chillie sauce collection they have. Highly recommended

Absolutely fantastic! To be honest, my expectations were quite low, given the bargain basement prices in the pub, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and freshness of the food, and the accuracy of the order (I ordered a 200g Rump medium rare). In fact, the steak only came out to $12.50 altogether! No wonder they were 7HO-FM’s Pub of the year for five non-consecutive years! Highly recommended for anyone in Hobart!
