Shami Kitchen - Asian restaurant in Muenchen, Germany
Good but not outstandingly good. Duck was dry. Very loud inside.
The food was good but even though we came before some customers, our food came after them. And the waiters were pretty ignorant.
The restaurant is located near the Englischer Garten. There are many restaurants around this area. However, Shami Kitchen is one of the best ones when it comes to Asian Fusion. I ate here already several times and my food was always on point. This time I came at lunchtime and took the Duck Peanuts. The duck was cooked perfectly and fitted into the peanut sauce. Additionally, the sauce had a slightly sweet touch because of the added pineapple. If you like Asian food, I highly suggest you check out Shami Kitchen, and I doubt you will find something quality-wise better for the price.
Excellent food and cocktails, light years away from the typical fare offered at Asian restaurants in Munich. Could have been a smidge spicier, but delicious nonetheless.
Nice indoors place, amazing food
Nice place, awesome food!
The service is good. However the food is sad. Follwing the foodstep of a previous comment I ordered pawn and scallop noodles. Like most Asian restaurants in Europe, they put tonnes of soy sauce in it.I finished the meal in tears, as I was so hungry...I also walked an extra mile for it, as I really wanted some good Asian food, after eating German food for days already.
We came as a bigger group and we all loved our dishes. I had the tofu in a spicy sauce which was excellent. The cocktails were also delicious.
A good recommendation. It’s a bit expensive but the quality and service is quite good.
Delicious food and the best home made ice cream I have had for many years ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A little hidden away, but definitely worth a visit! Fast service, hip interior and tasty food. It’s a little on the expensive side, but definitely a good spot for a date. The starters were average, however, they got compensated by very delicious mains! Definitely try the fried noodles with shrimp or the fried rice with duck!!
Fantastic, going again, but dont tell anyone.... Had a cheeky beer, or two, around the corner at Keg, great atmosphere, going there again too.
Good things about this place:- very good location- beautiful interior design- the food is superb. We ordered salmon tartare, crispy duck fried rice and beef noodle soup. Everything tastes amazing. In fact, it was the best fried rice I‘ve ever tasted in Germany (and I‘m from Indonesia, so I eat A LOT of authentic fried rice, but this one tops it all)However, there are some downsides as well:- The price is definitely on the higher side. 16€ for fried rice is quite a lot. The salmon tartare costs 14€ which is OK but the portion is a bit small. This could maybe be justified by the taste of the food which is definitely better than most asian restaurants I know but it‘s still a bit pricy.- We talked to three of the staffs; two of them were super friendly but one of them was kind of rude. We were taken to a table, we asked nicely if we could get another table and he just pointed to the other side of the room without saying anything to us.If you‘re looking for asian food with better-than-average-taste this is the place to be. But prepare to pay a bit more :)
Nice panasian restaurant. Atmosphere is a bit anonymous, but service is absolutely nice and kind. Menu is nothing special, but dishes were fine.
Its a nice little place with good atmosphere. The food is amazing but I cant give it a 5 stars for a few reasons. First the sits are not really comfortable, there are more comfortable sits at the other side of the restaurant but these high sits are not very good. The second issue was that we ordered some appetizers alongside our main dishes but we received the main dishes and no appetizers. Which I asked to cancel afterwards.Beside these issues everything else was good, as mentioned the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
The fried duck with with egg rice is very delicious and recommended. Also they have great cocktails.
The place is warm and popular among locals. Because of that popularity, it is hard to get a place. I would recommend the duck along with fried rice. The toilet is freezing in winter which was kind of annoying. The place is crowded so I wouldnt recommend it for vulnerable patients who are at risk of coronavirus. Moreover, I would not recommend for a quiet date. Otherwise, the place is fantastic and you should give it a go!
Nice restaurant with delicious food! I went here two times already and I can really recommend their cold starters such as beef/salmon tartare and their homemade lemonades ♥️ other than that I also tried the Pad Thai which was a tad too salty. The interior is also very nice, however, the tables were a bit too close to each other.
Great, authentic Vietnamese food; buzzy atmosphere (which is hard to come by these daysand stylish interieur. The wine and drinks menu also offers a great selection that complements the dishes very well. On top of that, there are also many vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Delicious food and friendly service!
Visited this place a few month ago, felt unfair that I didnt give them a well deserved 5 star. The food was awesome and the portion was big and satisfying, the interior was like a cool place to hang. One of few restaurants in munich that looks cool
Sadly I don’t have the pictures but the food was amazing! For the price it was 100/10 !! So good! Bun Chai 💗 the interior is also very nice and we spent almost 4 hours with friends comfortably eating and chatting the whole evening! The staff is also very very nice and happy to help!
Super good Asian Cuisine! Loved their chicken with cashews 😍Find me on ig: Foodstagramando
It looks like nothing interesting from the outside but is a nice, clean, quite big and modern place inside. The food was as well very tasty and the most outstanding was the service. Always there to ask if we need more rice or drinks. They really try their best. Warmly recommended.
Delicious! We’ll definitely come back.
A delightful variety of Asian fusion food. Quick efficient service in a beautifully decorated ( and fairy smallrestaurant. Absolutely recommended that you make reservations and bear in mind that it can become noisy when it’s crowded, which it often is on the weekend.
Very good - food is super delicious - prices are reasonable given the quality but above your average asian restaurant.Service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is also good!
Had take-away food, unfortunately not that good. Veggie dumplings had no taste/flavor at all, chili noodles were very dry and fried soft shell crab (which came as a mistake for smth else we had orderedonly tasted of the coating! Not impressed.
The food here is great and they also have a good selection of cocktails. The only problem I see is that there is not much space, so booking a table is a must. Regardless the food is delicious and the prices are in line with similar places. You can expect to spend 20-30€ per person for a nice dinner with a cocktail.
Very delicious, can only recommend this restaurant. I had the chicken Bun (#443and it was a bowl style mix, which was really good. Had the Beef Noodle Soup too, which is a Pho-style soup. Everything was freshly made, no instant broth or similar, as fas as i can tell. There is a bar in therestaurant too, they offer a veriety of cocktails, which I cant review since we had none. If you are looking for a good selection of Asian food, this is the place to go. We were there around 8pm and every table was taken. So maybe you should call first.Fully recommended!
Love it! Reminds me of the other great Asian restaurant - Shimai. I bet they belong to the same owner. Anyway, the food is awesome. Mixed startes (spring rolls, saté, dumplings, Edameme and many morewe’re really satisfying. The fish as main was also top notch. Great cocktails like a Ho-Chi-Min-Sling round up a perfect dinner at Shami. I was really sad and disappointed that staff kicked us out at midnight - but that’s probably a proof that we enjoyed the evening and lost track of time!
Great cocktails, great service, big portions with a nice flavour
Went there yesterday with my fiancée. The service was good but unfortunately both of us got the symptoms of food poisoning the next morning. Both of us ate the same dish - chicken cocos cream.
Excellent food and service. Perfect portions. Highly recommend!
I eat more Asian (and "Asian fusion"food than European food these days, and this place makes some of the best Ive ever had. I lived nearby for four years and I wish had discovered this earlier. We could even bring our dogs (pugsalong, which is often a problem with Asian restaurants, but not here.
This is a must visit restaurantThe dining room is well presented and the staff are very friendly. The menu is a fusion of Vietnamese and Japanese dishes with a European touch. We enjoyed a meal here on a very busy Thursday evening.I would highly recommend Shamis if you’re in Munich.
Spectacular!Best Mojito weve had. Amazing lemongrass beef. Extraordinary ambient with very peaceful music and very stylish interior. Helpful and friendly staff. Would give 6 stars if we could!
Amazing! I was there for the first time and it just blew me away. The food was fantastic, even my grandparents were thrilled. Big portions, great taste, friendly service and also the sake afterwards was mild. Absolutely recommendable!
Very nice restaurant. If you are in front of the restaurant it’s not very nice but this changes when you go inside. No reservation don’t go. Make a reservation. Small tables but great food and good staff. Can they serve #glutenfree food. Yes they can but they should add this to the menu and on the website. Because they have it. Thanks for the nice experience. Will come back.
We go here very frequently for lunch and I have tried almost all of their lunch menus. During the evening the menu is different and a bit more pricey. Food is delicious sometimes tad bit more salty than my choice. If you are there definitely try their duck in peanut sauce and their Lachs. Both dishes are delicious. They have many vegetarian choices too. Nice ambience and attentive staff. I recommend reserving before hand if you are a big group.
We were five vietnamese girls visiting this restaurant for graduation. It was sooo nice there! We ate everything together just like vietnamese style and had the following: Mix Dumplings, Gio Du Du, Red Curry mit knuspriger Ente, Salmon, Chili San Noodles, and Shamis Grill Surf&turf(?). We were soo impressed because the interior is very nice, the bathroom is clean as well. The food was super delicious and we enjoyed every single dish. The service was great as we were allowed to eat rice as much as we want :We will definitely come again! Thank you for the nice service. See you soon.
Trendy fusion restaurant that does everything right. Great cocktail menu (so creative!), hip atmoshere, and the food! Fresh, flavorful and exotic! We loved everything but the do-it-yourself wraps were the biggest hit. Simply delicious.
My favorite restaurant in Munich. Excellent asian food and attentive service. Try out the crispy duck with peanut sauce, its amazing! If possible, come in the work week and get the lunch meal for just 10 €. The restaurant is a bit out of the way from Münchner Freiheit station but well worth the walk.
Great food, polite service. A bit pricey, but totally worth it. Really stylish interior, but a bit of a tight space. Had dumpling mix as entree (cool new approach to Asian dumplings), and ginger duck as main, while my girlfriend had lemongrass beef- both just great. Had a little misunderstanding considering drinks, so had a great long drink instead of a soft drink.
Buzzling spot, even on a Monday night. No wonder with such an intriguing selection of Asian delights. Juicy scallops, crispy duck salad and a red curry to die for. Attentive and welcoming service. Will come back soon
Truly exceptional! Everything was delicious!
Very nice restaurant :good atmosphere and good service :the price is ok
I really like this place. Great cocktails and food - always fresh, beautifully presented (starters and mains, never tried deserts so cant comment on those). Make sure you book, if you want to go Fri or Sat. The restaurant looks very good, contemporary Asian style with food market influences. The service is not consistent, sometimes really rude (esp. one guy! sometimes nice. The service is slow and sometimes forgets orders, but its because the place is always packed. I would rate is 5star if the service would be better (went there 5 times now and always there was some issue with the service). Its a pity for such an amazing place .
Dishonest and unfairWe were a group of 5 people which were surprised by the superior quality of this restaurant but this magic broke as the bill arrived. We explicitily asked the waitress - together with wine - for FREE tap water. She replied:"for tap water we only have sparking one" and we accepted. TAP water is by law for free in Germany. Well, at the end we paid 2.5 euro each for a plain glass of water. This is absolutely obscene, as we previously asked for something that is actually for free. When asking for an explanation, the waiter never responded in English, expecially when we pointed out that - in addition to this 17.5€ we paid extra, they calculated some food twice.NEVER AGAIN. THEY are just scammers.
Awesome Pho & Bun Bo!!! Dumplings are fresh just as the rest of the food. You can taste that its good quality produce they use and the spring rolls have incredible flavour. Wonderful range of different Asian cuisine. Totally worth your while and money!!!
