Have to say fantastic experience food was fantastic place was spotless and the young girl that seated us so so profesional and friendly its a credit to her. Unfortunalky did nit get her name. She a credit to the sligo store. She bubbly and just professional. The place could do with some music in the back ground. But other than that very very happy return trip very soon

Swimming.When Covid struck and our world was turned upside down, people had time on their hands and needed an outlet for their sanity. Some took to walking, others went cycling, some bought dogs, but the most popular pastime of all was swimming. Swimming was more than just a hobby, it became a whole new cultural movement. Colourful full length robes were de rigueur as the beaches were awash with groups splashing in the waves before sitting around fires and dining al fresco with gusto.I dont like swimming.And I didnt expect swimming when I entered Shake Dog at the Quayside shopping centre in Wine Street. But thats what I got, my chips were swimming.In what, I cannot say. It was meant to be cheese, but believe me, it wasnt. I tried to rescue the fries from the mucilaginous mess with ketchup and mustard but the mustard was as gooey as the cheese. The chicken burger I had was low on chicken but the strawberry milkshake would even have impressed Vincent Vega. The waitress was efficient and deserved her tip and normally Id complain, but I was rushing for a bus and every minute counted so I let it go. This was one nautical experience I didnt expect and a word to the wise, avoid going in at the deep end in Shake Dog.

Absolutely phenomenal atmosphere, comparable to the fun zone in the cinema back in the day! The service was immaculate, with the lady serving us even remembering what flavour milkshake I’d ordered when I went to pay which was very thoughtful. The food was very fast arriving and even faster going into the mouth, I’d barely finished my first quip by the time my burger had arrived. The only fault I could find in the establishment was that they don’t sell DVDs anymore, RIP XTRAVISION

Terrible service, tried to order three things off the menu ,they said they had run out of them ,nachos, piri piri fries, and the combo fries.. drinks were flat and with no ice. The place was cold. Chips were nearly cold too. Staff uninterested and unhelpful. bad all around. Avoid

Alot of very unique sounding things on the menu. Better tasting than Eddie Rockets.Meal deal also very good price!

Customer service really good, the food was ok,but can be improved, like the cheddar melt, that in my opinion was watering. Price for meal deal was fear once you can get a milk shake, side and sambo of your choice, atmosphere really nice with a vintage decoration.

I dont know which dark magic they have in that kitchen. But my burger was uncanily good and the fries...omg. The best part is that my wife, whos vegetarian absolutely loved. It is difficult to find placed with both good vegetarian and meat-based food. Price was spot on and the portions not too big. I will be coming back, even though I live in Athlone.Disclaimer: Bear in mind I never eat at premium restaurants, Im a fast food guy, so I dont know how this compares with a 20 euro gourmet burger with shabatta onion gold leaf bread and alien angus patty in a bed of shinvaghanna sprouts in white wine sauce.

SOME FINER DINER! The service was appalling and they ignored us for twenty minutes. Good cheeseburger though. Even had the cheek to take someone’s order before ours after they came in 10 minutes after us. I would have been better off behind the counter cooking my own food!

Just walked out the door happy, great feed, staff polite and well mannered. "Thanks again chef!" Recommended hawaiian burger, bacon and cheese chips, coke. 👍🏻

Food wasnt bad and very reasonable price, but very long wait for service, not to be recommended for a quick snack before going to the cinema next door!!

Okay so me, my sister and my mom went here a few weeks ago for dinner! The food is nice so we decided to come. After they took our order we waited like 40 min for our food to come and it didnt! My mom went up and they forgot our order!! When the food finally came we were starving. But they got MY order WRONG! I asked for bacon cheese chips but I got curry chips. Once they finally managed to give me my right order they forgot the sauce we ordered too. Not to mention they were out of a bunch of milkshake flavours? One star because the food is kinda good anyways. Shame.

Their milkshakes are really big and tasty. The seats are comfy and private. Its decorated nicely. Overall a great experience

Sorry they should have called it " wouldnt give it to a dog " not shake dog, definitely would not recommend it, we went there at 20.10 and all we could get was chicken burger as they said all the burgers were sold out , the chips were from the day before Id say.

Politely greeted and seated by a friendly server. The service was swift. The food was fine of which were generous portions. Unfortunately there covid safety measures where obviously less than up to standard. I personally would not return. But wish them well in these difficult covid times.

Yum!Shake Dog is very similar to another brand of American diner style establishments but its a much better version!The food is so tasty, the meal deal is inclusive of all menu categories and therefore nicely priced. I really enjoyed the cheese burger but I loved the Texas chili fries (so much that I had to go back two days later to make sure 😉).Like so many restaurants at this time, getting back up on their feet. The service is impeccable, the restaurant is very clean and the food is really enjoyable and good value.

Unfortunately, my 6 year old loves Shake Dog, especially just before the cinema. But it is hit and miss at best, more miss than hit. Sometimes, its like they dont even look at what theyre plating. More than once I have been served blatantly burnt, black food. Today, the food took forever (we didnt have time to eat it before our movie started), and the nuggets were black. It was fairly full, with 4 staff members (2 cooking, 2 on the floorrun off their feet, not being able to provide anyone with a good service - through no fault of their own. The manager needs to hire more staff, and be present to check the food. Im afraid Ill be putting my foot down, from now on, and insisting we go elsewhere

Happy to sit indoors but the food was lukewarm and slow. Food left in the heating cabinet with no heat lamps turned on. But definitely happy to be allowed to eat in doors .

I wanted to try somethign new and i got a recommendation to order from here, i dont regret it and i plan to order again.I enjoyed the food and the food was delivered 25 minutes early than what was said on the Just Eat app and the best part was that the drinks were still cold on arrival, the delivery man was friendly and quickly gave me my change, i believe his name was Mathew.This is a great establishment and i enjoyed the food :)

I thought that it would not be possible to mess up American style diner food. But it can be done. Burger was charred on outside and, no idea how they achieved this, but the inside too. The milkshakes, just taste of iced milk, very little flavouring at all.We were a party of four and the only good word that we had to say about the place is that the staff were pleasant.

OK food, good service, OK value. Had the Smokehouse burger, it was described as having smoked cheese, not even the faintest hint of smoke, it consisted of what was billed as a 6oz Irish Hereford beef patty, it was a very basic frozen burger patty, youd get the same in any fast food takeaway, the onion ring and bacon was fine. Fries were regular frozen fries. Nothing tasted bad per se, just these days when theres so many places doing gourmet burgers, if you advertise as a burger joint and sell average burgers its kind of a disappointment. That said the burgers arent expensive, so its not a rip off. Shakes were really good. All told a very regular basic fast food diner. If they improved the beef patties, maybe do smash burgers, it could be a great little spot.

Old style burgers, with a great choice of options, and good value at €13 per head (Adultfor burger, side and drink. Staff friendly and efficient with good service. Very happy & thank you so much (definitely be back!)

Food is great but their shakes are my absolute favourite. The shakes are big enough for two to share and at a very reasonable price. Love their sweet potato fries as well. It’s got a nice 60s American diner decor as well which is really cool. It’s right next to the cinema which also makes it a great place to dine in before a movie

American style diner serving very good burgers. Place was spotlessly clean when I was in. Restrooms were very clean also.

Always enjoy my visits, burgers are really good and the nachos as well!If you are in Sligo and are hungry, theyll look after you!However if you cant handle lactose, they do not have alternatives for that (for milkshakes)Highly recommended, go visit!

Boyfriend ordered fries and shake the last day and got vanilla instead of brownie, both straws were destroyed. Food was amazing so we let it go. Decided to treat myself to Texas fire fries like he got and wow I couldnt believe it was the same thing. Portion half the size and I wish I could explain how the container is stopping me getting at my chips.. very disappointed :(

Food is nice but can take a while to come and the 3 times i have been there, mine or someone elses order has been wrong. For example i heard a guy asking for no onions as he was allergic and his burger came out covered in onions which he sent back and had to wait a long time again to get his correct food. Apart from this the decor is nice and gives you a 70s old school diner feel.

First time visit and we found the food to be lovely and the atmosphere likewise. An American style diner that really looks the part.The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was prepared to order. We all enjoyed the experience especially the shakes which were excellent.

Shake Dog plays great music and serves yummy affordable food quickly. I had low funds but ate well here. Their nutella and peanut butter milkshake is gorgeous.

I love the food. It is always clean, staff are very friendly and polite. Great value for the shake,burger and fries deal for €13.00. Take away option is always available.

The food is incredible and with the meal deal, reasonably priced. The milkshakes are incredible and massive, the chips are tasty and have plenty of toppings and the burgers are incredible. Could be more effort put into theming but apart from that its perfect with lovely staff . Cant wait to go back!

Honestly, I loved my "experience" at this place, it ticked all the boxes for me! It was as previously reviewed quite expensive, but that is definitely something to expect from this type of casual restaurant. Apart from that, the toilets were spotless. The food tasted amazing. But most importantly I felt welcome in the place the whole time. The staff actually looked like they liked it there. (Even if they were acting, they acted well). I the guy taking my order even started a small casual but friendly conversation, unlike nowadays where the person taking your order treats you like a "box" waiting for food to be served. Overall I would give it 4 stars but because of the tremendous effort the staff put in Im giving it 5 stars. It is what you see and more. Give this place a try! You wont regret it.
