Expansive, contemporary Japanese buffet dining with individual hot pots and minimalist seating.
Amazing food, customer service and seating! I cannot fault anything from our dinner here. The food was all so fresh, and the sushi was the best weve ever eaten. Will definitely be coming back - probably one of the best buffet restaurants weve been to!
Shabuhouse is a very fun joint. All-you-can-eat hotpot, a la carte and unlimited sushi?! Insane. A really fun time with some good friends. I would highly recommend this place!
First time here tonight and it was really exciting and different. The food was delicious and was really fun choosing ingredients and cooking it all up yourself. The only thing I didnt like was it was super loud so unless you want to scream at eachother, dont expect to be able to have a conversation. All in all, it was nice and Id go again. Maybe Ill try a weeknight
The sushi was amazing however the hot pot was not good at all. The meat had a dry, weird texture and the prawns had weird blue spots, the soup did not taste very nice and overall it ruined the experience. Overall if you come eat the sushi not the hotpot. Along with this, parking was a nightmare
My boyfriend and I were the on 2022 Oct. 09th Sunday, we went for dinner date and got seated around 7pm.Anyway, the environment looked okay but both of us got food poisoned and been very sick even until today (Tuesday). Had to take 2 days sicko due to severe diarrhea symptoms and dehydration.Since we didnt have any other meal nor food together before dinner, it has to be from dinner. And we were both well before dinner, too.If anyone dined that day also got sickness please reply to this comment.
Good price for a lunch buffet on the weekends with family! Sushi and fried stuffs are awesome! Shabu part could be better if add more cooking choices. Restaurant is clean!
Couldnt recommend enough!! Very good value for money!! The all you can eat sushi is great and the shabu (hot potbar is awesome as well.Im a vegetarian and there were two vegetarian soup options, miso and spicy miso. Both delicious! Theres definitely enough veggie options for them as well. The sushi bar has about 5 vegetarian options which are all delicious!
Food was delicious and great service
amazing variety and the buffet is well maintained and clean, will definitely be back!
Loved this place and will be back. The price is incredible for the amount and quality of food. Cocktails weren’t the most impressive but the food and fun of doing your own thing definitely made up for it.
You can eat both sushi and BBQ. Service was kind and fast, food was ok.
Soooo good. 46 dollars per person but the bases are so good, variety to choose from and also plenty of sushi. Very good vibes to the place too.
Buffet of Sushi and individual hot pot (small pot per person, you can make your own flavour).Lunch price is reasonable, but dinner is a bit expensive.Good service, staffs are friendly, clean table and refill food frequently.Kids love the food. A good place for family weekends.
Excellent dining experience. Reasonable prices. Great variety of food. Hotpot and sushi are good.
Loved it. Quality of the food is very high, even for fussy me.Sesame dressing was exceptional as well as the pork. Soup base choices were great too.Im hungry just thinking about it again.Missing is the fruit, watermelon etc, to finish off the meal.
Food choices are limited, its good to fill up plate but dont expect quality meats..
Must have been the day we went to try this place but there was no nigiri, as most people have in their photos, so maybe it was just a bad day. Was really just looking forward to salmon nigiri. The selection was really poor of sushi so very disappointing there. The floor was very slippery, our party were slipping getting to our table. Because everyone’s using the hot pot function and there didn’t seem to be great ventilation, everything was steamy, humid and just generally wet. Poor customer service, using the call button on the tablet didn’t bring anyone over for about 20 minutes until we went and got someone. Would be a good midweek lunch place for people working in the city, wouldn’t go out of my way again.
Yummy food and plenty of it, but a little bit expensive... good value for those who can eat loads! Weekend rates were a bit of a surprise. Drinks were also pricey, but the overall experience was nice.
Have been to shabu house many times over the years it was always great. However, last night I had a table reserved for 4 adults and put in the notes that wed need a high chair aswell for my 11 month old. We arrive and theyve tried to seat us at a table with only 2 chairs and no high chair, the staff member was not impressed when we said wed need another 2 chairs as there were 4 of us and that we also put in a request for a high chair. Anyway. That gets sorted. My husband was up getting some food and the same staff member came back and tried to take my husbands chair which it was obvious someone was sitting there. Then we find mould on the inside of our table eater, we told the staff and all they said was "thanks for letting us know" no Im sorry or anything considering my husband had already had half of the jug of water before we realise, my husband isnt well today. Will NOT be back.
My Hot Pot heater didnt work, though was compensated with a Lemon Lime Bitters, which was appreciated. Buffet pricing was high, would appreciate more signage with the pricing around.
Sushi was amazing, definitely recommend this place.
Absolutely incredible selection of all-you-can-eat sushi, shabu hotpot soup and chicken!! Everything was delicious and really great quality. Service was A+, extremely quick and attentive. Great atmosphere and fun environment. Highly recommend and one of the best restaurants Brisbane has to offer. Will return to show all my friends this amazing restaurant! 10/10 must try!!
First time experience with my friend from New Zealand. We both loved everything and quality was great for the price and location. The waiter was incredibly attentive and quick to assist. Definitely one of the best restaurants Ive been to :)
overrated, number of choices doesnt match the price. nice sushi though. but they didnt refill the food since about 8, when they close at 10. and they clean up by 9.
Wonderful selection of sushi, had 4 or 5 different hotpot soups to pick from, various meats, vegetables and premade foods to choose from. It is quite expensive but quite worth the experience.
Verry little sushi available. Low grade sushi when there was any at all. Looked nothing like the pictures but more like leftovers...Shabu Shabu was not great either. Not likely to ever go back or recommend.Sterile atmosphere as well.Tap Water included, everything else extra.
OMG all you can eat sushi. Need I say more.Clean and tasty. Go and try this place it’s amazing.
It is quite expensive but worth it. I only eat the sushi because if I have a hot pot I get full too quick. I’m vegetarian and you can just let the chefs know and they’ll make you specific stuff and bring it to you. Recommended.
Food is good. We needed extra soup but really like the different options
I’ve been to Shabuhouse quite a few times. Before Covid-19 the experience and food tasted a lot better then now. The sushi is still good but the options now are very limited.Staff are friendly. The pricing is quite expensive.Hopefully, Shabuhouse will eventually be at the level they were at before Covid-19.
The best experience in my life in Brisbane! The restaurant itself is amazing, really clean and I have never seen so kind staff. The food is just gorgeous, the best hotpot ingredients and the soup was delicious. I’m considering going again as soon as I can! Thank you Shabuhouse for this wonderful experience
Great service very friendly. Due to covid you order with your waiter at the table what items you’d like. Very easy and straight forward. Food was great.
The sushi was old, even though we got there when they opened for dinner. The soup and ingredients were fine. The hot food from the buffet was legitimately cold. I told the guy serving us, he was confused but I said well it tasted okay. Dont get the spicy wings, the sauce they used is a mystery and it tastes... EhOverall Id go back for the hotpot. Not for the sushi. What a shame as I really wanted both to be perfect. Not just the hotpot.
First time customer. Happy with the food and staff was very attentive. But we ordered drinks first and it didn’t come even when the food arrived. Had to ask again. But with the challenging times serving to the tables I would say you guys are amazing.
Decent. Not the most amazing selection and the meat quality is mediocre esp for the price but service is good. I also appreciated the single serve hotpot, great for covid times! Good convenient location in the city too.My advice, dont expect to be wowed and you wont be disappointed!
I just like everything about the place. You have your own hotpot in addition to other side dishes. Not too many selection in terms of broth or sauce but it can be overlooked by the sheer number of cold food (sushi), raw meat (for hotpot), vegetable, and hot/cooked food (side dish). Perhaps, the only downside is the fact that its getting pricier.
I have been here twice now, once last year and once this year, both on Saturdays. Its rather expensive (37.50 adult 25 childfor a night out with family but the food has improved I think from last year to this year. The range of sushi and fried food has gotten better with more choices for non seafood loving people. Last year I didnt want to come back whereas this year I would go back again. However the rest of the family who loves seafood and hotpot have been happy both times we have gone. Things can get busy though with quite a crowd in the restaurant. The staff do a good job of keeping up with the demand for food though, with minimal time between a tray running out and a new one being provided. They are also very helpful when needing anything brought to the table and cleaning out after tables have finished. The place has generally been clean both times with minimal spills or dropped food even though buffets are often prone to that kind of mess.
Its almost 40 dollars per person on Friday or weekends. Theres isnt much choices with hot pot food, basic slices of meat and vegetables. Prawns were not very fresh. For ready made food, there are fried food, sushi nigiri and rolls, even so, they are not the freshest. The staff were very friendly though, they would explain clearly upon your arrival to the restaurant, but for the price I would prefer more variety, as after the first round of food, you probably tasted most items, and some items dont look too appealing.
What a awesome experience. The food was on point the service from staff great and fast. Selection was great and very tasty and fresh. $35 well spent. Kids will love it select and cook ur own and chicken wings an sushi as well! 👍🏽👍🏽Go hungry get ur moneys worth. Will definitely be coming back again. Thanks shabu house!
We came here for lunch and it was ok.I like that idea that everyone has their own pot at the table but the meats were really chewy which was really a shame. I enjoyed veggies and some fish cakes in the soup. They have lots of different sushi rolls but no nigiri. We got the table around 2:10pm(had to wait to get a seat for 5 minuteswe thought they close at 3pm for lunch but actually they closed all the bars around 2:40 which they didn’t tell us at the beginning. I would recommend going in early for the buffet because if you go in close to finishing time the food don’t come out at the bar. Especially for the sushi rolls. You might need to ask to get it.
Good experience in this place, the buffet of sushis was amazing and really tasty. The only point was that there is not a lot a choice at the hot buffet and it was cold when we arrived.
Still one of the better Japanese themed buffets out here in Brisbane City. Staffs were friendly and tend to your requests promptly. Seating inside is huge and gets crowded during peaks hours especially weekends. Private rooms available to use for larger groups. Several soup stocks to choose from and a wide range of sushi.
My experience wasnt the best here. Ive experienced a few issues but also some positives of the restaurant. Lighting was inadequate a bit too dark. The beef was rather rough and difficult to chew. However the second round was slightly better. Meat quality could be improved. One of the staff members took away my friends fruit drinks but last time I came nothing happened. The shrimp wasnt very fresh with an unusual smell and the smell cause the soup to become contaminated as well.Sushi was okay. but this time no nigiri was available.
Food was fantastic and great variety for the whole family, unfortunately the desert selection was just oranges.Sushi was delicious👌🏽 definitely worth a try.
A very disappointing dining experience. Cannot understand how come it is rated as one of the best Japanese restaurants in brisbane. Truly doesn’t worth $36 per person, in terms of food quality and variety of selection. There were 4-5 hot dishes but all were just average. Sushi bar looked like a mess...seafood was not fresh at all, prawns were all floppy. Beef is very average. There were four sauces provided and all tasted weird. And it requires customers to take their own pot and get the soup from counter, it was very dangerous as there were many customers walking around the counter.
Great selection of food. We went for dinner and they provide both unlimited sushi and shabu shabu hot pot. It costed around $40per person because we ordered wine. Overall, quality of food is good for its price range. Sushi selection is acceptable. Especially enjoyed the personal hot pot with vegetables, meat and seafood selection. They also provide three different soup types. I would recommend going there if you are hungry, haha!
Everything was amazing. Freshly prepared sushi and a range of ingredients for the soups. I wouldve loved it more though if the ice cream was included in the price. Its Soooooooo delicious buy expensive when you see the serving size compared to the price! Otherwise I would go back there for occasions.
This place is brilliant..$30 or so for all you can eat mini hot pot and sushi. The food is great quality and the staff are friendly and helpful. Couldnt fault it.
Excellent food, great value for the price paid. Fast and professional services offered by the wait staff here
You can find a lot of kinds of Japanese sushi and also you can cook your own food in front of you. Its all you can eat @ $32 per person.
