Chemin du Zoo 1, 1077 Servion, Switzerland, Montreux
Zoo with landscaped & wooded zones keeping animal species, from Siberian tigers to macaws.
The Zoo itself is good, they should increase prices and hire more staff. Guests behave horrible and disrespect animals. For example, Lions were fed and there was a large sign saying please keep 1m distance from the window not to stress the lions. But people were right to the window, knocking on it and taking photos with the flash on. There should be a camera and a different sign: “you are being filmend. Please keep 1m distance to respect the lion, failure to do so results in a CHF 500 fine. Thank you.” The other bothersome thing was people smoking everywhere, it should be forbidden or at least have designated smoking zones away from children and animals.
A perfect place in any season, a small structure that works perfectly well and gives pleasure to young and old.
The place is good and very nice for the kids with place to play and all. But regarding food at the restaurant available, if you are vegetarian, there is almost nothing to eat ( except for a sandwich, spring rolls and fries ). I Hope someday they keep Atleast a pasta nepolita or something basic for the kids who are vegetarian.
Great time in family. Lots of spot to sit and pic nic. Restaurant available also. Beautiful birds and easy to go on with babies or small kids.
Good park, not to big but worth the visit.
So beautiful place, good for familys
Nice little zoo with lots of varieties and a nice playground too
Its a good place to take children to spend the day
Love the place, love the animals. One can see that the Animals are looked after with love and dedication.
Very nice Zoo, easy to see all animals! Great playground for kids. Very beautiful araras and amazing monkeys 👍I recommand and much cheaper then Zurich.Only the restaurant is without surprise, only eat if you have forgotten to eat before you left the house and its urgent because of a disease cause unless its not urgent then dont. Trust me.
Its not a very big zoo but it is very nice and clean. They have great exhibits and happy looking animals.
So much to see here and a very nice size zoo for families to walk around. Large enough to have good variety and some of the big major animals while also being small enough for kids to walk around without getting too exhausted.Love that the zoo has wolves, snow leopards, lions and a tiger. The Komodo dragon was a big hit also. Very well worth a visit. An added plus is the kids play area that is outside by the restaurant.
Recommended for families with young kids. In addition to the animals there are nice playgrounds. Go to the terrarium also. The restaurant is quite OK.
Lovely little zoo, lots of unusual species of monkeys and birds. There are tigers, lion and a bear.Enjoyed watching them at feeding time.Nice day for children, family or even couples. We went in November sowrap up really warm.
The zoo itself is okay, and Ive been going here since 1985 when I was a child. However, the staff at the cafe is extremely rude and unhelpful. I was told that I had won a free coffee by filling out a survey. When I confusedly pressed the wrong button on the machine and got a cappuccino instead of a simple coffee, something which was not prohibited by the free coffee coupon I was given a few minutes before, I was chided in a way that is usually used on children... Im writing this in english, but let it be known that I am also fluent in french. This message is for any guests coming in from out of town who might not want to be treated like children when they are in fact in their late 30s.
Really nice zoo, the animals have pretty large and well designed cages. It is very family friendly, indeed there is a nice playground for children to play and children can be quite close to some animals.
Nice small zoo, has had alot of improvenents since i last went 8yrs ago? And still improving the enclosures now.Add the tropiquarium to the ticket..its worth it.
Such a pity that tigers, bears and other wild animals are held captive for our entertainment. They all want to be free. Instead, convert the zoo to be a sanctuary to preserve endangered species
I had such a great time at this zoo and tropiquarium (which is situated just on the other end, some 5 mins walk). Very family/kid friendly with playgrounds and a nice restaurant. The zoo has a lot of different animals that seem very well taken care of which I especially liked, and a lot of the staff were really friendly. Will go again !
Perfect half day trip with kids (can be full day if you combine with the vivarium). There is a nice playground too in the center of the zoo. The restaurant has descent “fast food” offering such as burgers or nuggets for kids. To avoid queue, go for lunch in the vivarium.
good bang for buck, features a variety of large predators despite not being a big zoo. Worth getting the combo ticket with the tropicarium. Takes like 4 hours to visit both if you dont rush it.
Calm and pleasant park with playgrounds for kids, family friendly. Animals got plenty of space, recommended.
Great place for kids .. and animals is so many.. recommend for families with children.
Not a big zoo but a nice quantity of animals and great environments for them. I loved that they made everything possible for you to see the animals in every angle, even if they are resting inside their caves. The snow leopards and wolves were my favorite. Both are besides each other so if you could see them, just wait a bit in a bench near by and they will appear waling around eventually. Huge parking lot. I wasnt able to try the food or the reptile area but I will be back for more photos and go there as well. You can by a ticket for both the zoo and the reptile area for a reduced price.
Very nice small zoo with lots of space for the animalsRestaurant has a good selection of meals at reasonable prices and there are many picnic spots around the siteWell worth a visit
There are in fact two: the outdoors Servion zoo and the mostly indoors tropicarium, which houses reptiles, including komodo dragons and crocs, amphibians and birds. Both are well worth a visit, especially with kids. Combined tickets are available.
Very suitable to spend a day with kids. No very big yet rich in its collection of a wide variety of fauna. Some rare species such as arctic fox and wolf. .Also has children play area.
Nice cute Zoo with not so many species at the moment due to Corona. On a warm day it is a very enjoyable tour with kids or without. Will go back once all the parts of the Zoo will be opened again.
Excellent little zoo, focused on kids and families. Restaurant is decent, animals have plenty of space, and its a good place to spend 2-3h.
Been going to this zoo since I was 6 or so and I really like it. There are plenty of things to play with for the kids and a LOT of animals of all sorts, ranging from the small chicken or rabbit to the majestic lion and bears. There is a lot of space to walk around, there is a restaurant (which with covid was closed unfortunately), bathrooms, etc. great for the whole family.
Nice zoo --- lots of animals, easy to see them, and good value for the entrance price.Only downside is that it can get pretty busy, particularly around the play area near the entrance.
Servion Zoo is situation near Jorat forest. It jas over 60 species of animals. We went during COVID days, so it was a bit gloomy but worth a visit on a good sunny day. It is in woods so on cold cloudy day can be a struggle. The zoo has a restaurant with children friendly services; such as high chairs and changing area. The terrace is lovely overlooking the Tigers cage. Plenty of picnic options in summer. There are some excellent eating options a few minutes away from the zoo. Spacious parking area. Overall nice zoo but its quite old, so bit run down, especially the childrens play area.
Very well maintained, nicely placed, 20 min from Lausanne.Great to spend an afternoon with kids, especially from 14-16h, when the staff feed the animals.
A very cute little zoo. All animals look well-groomed and healthy. The zoo has a café, an ice cream stand and a small toy store. On the website you can find the feeding schedule and go by time and watch the feeding of the animals. There is also a tropicarium nearby, you can buy tickets immediately there and to the zoo with a small discount.
Very nice Zoo.. good facilities for kids.. quite calm and vast.. good variety of animals and birds... Would like some more animals though like Zebra and giraffe.. free parking with enough spaces available...easy to reach... Restaurant was very good..
Small but well managed Zoo and Tropiquarium. Make sure to go in the afternoon time if you would like to catch the feeding sessions. There is plenty of parking, swings for kids and a cafe that serves hot and cold snacks. Good for a sunny day break :)
Zoos are always creating ethical questions so this review is not pro/contra zoos but rather how this particular zoo is maintained. And unfortunately this did not go well. The cages and in general environments for the animals are way too small. On some animals you definitely see they are not doing well (especially the reindeer). The bear cage is probably the biggest one, they seemed to have received the "best place" in the zoo and seemed to be doing ok. The cages were not very proper, seemed not very well maintained. In general everything looked old/used.
Small and organized zoo. My daughter loved it. Recommend it for an afternoon trip. 2-3 hours for both parks (zoo and aquarium)
Small zoo, but in a lovely setting. Nice for a morning or afternoon trip. Free parking and free for children up to six years old. Definitely worth a visit
Great place for a family’s day trip with children. Feeding time between 14:30-13:30 is a great moment.
Small but nice zoo in a forest. It has a small restaurant and a big parking lot. Its fun to see the animals in the snow, it seems they are really active even in the winter. Entrance fee for an adult is 12chf and you can pay by card too.
Great zoo, especially in the winter. Well chosen animals, looked after well. Some of the animals are quite old so look a bit rough but are well looked after. Enclosures are species suitable and the zoo has a good balance between animal comfort and viewability, with the former being the priority. Nice, reasonably priced restaurant and good free parking facilities. Fully accessible, plenty of picnic areas and a nice play area for children. Excellent way to spend half a day and good value for money!
Ok-ish zoo. I had the feeling many animals didnt have the space that they needed. A zoo will always be a conflicting topic. No animal deserves to be caged. However, it may be the only way to bring conscious about the extinction of many of the spieces in the planet and the only chance to see them alive anymore. For educational purposes, I really like it. However a minimum space should be guaranteed to each one of them
The zoo is very spacious and covered in shades from the trees (even the car park is). Which makes it bearable on a hot day.Not many fancy animals, but the cages are spacious and easily accessible even for younger kids, which allows a great interaction. Some free ranging chickens and gooses are completing the experience. The zoo has several pic-nic tables over the compound, which allows a nice alternative to the restaurant. There is also a big playground (in the shadownear to the restaurant and drinks/snack stalls.
Good place to visit especially for children..Small zoo but worth visiting ..It is located near by Lausanne . 30 minutes bus from sallaz metro station
Very nice small zoo, perfect to go with kids. Entrance is quite cheap, you should try both the zoo and the tropiquarium.
Ive enjoyed it, our 3 years old son was also very happy with playgrounds that are in zoo. He also loved small bears that were playing around. Good thing to know is that inside there is only one restaurant, with „everything with fries” menu, which wasnt bad. Problem is that because that is only one restaurant, it is very crowdy and you have to wait 20 minutes + in line.
Local zoo with a fun selection of animals for the kids. Main attraction are the brown bears which are very well displayed. Tour takes about 1-1.5 hour. Zip line and small playground are an icing on the cake for the kids at the end.
Great experience everry time we go there the animals look healty the employe are nice on everry area of the zoo from the front cashier to the man who give food to the animals
Nice little zoo. I enjoyed time here. There is also a small restaurant.
