Spiced Indian & Sri Lankan specialties with a tasting menu, in a restaurant with traditional decor.
Sleepy service, poor food quality.
I’m a Taiwanese and this is my first time trying food from Sri Lanka. We ordered the shrimp salad and two plates of traditional dishes. We love it so much that I must post a review here to show my satisfaction.
The place is nice but the food is so bland, can barely taste any spice and more Indian than srilankan style
Re-heated foods, Worst experience. Food poisoning.Stop going to this place
The waiter was disrespectful he couldnt even look into my eyes when I asked for something. He had no smile and was unfriendly and made the diner experience worse. The food was below average and it not worth the price. The cheese Naan was thick like a pan pizza and was poor. I would not recommend this restaurant due to the miserable service and unfriendly waiter.
The fish meal is not good as I expect but the Meat meal is great. And the Indian bread is surprisingly excellent.
The store is very classically decorated and has a great atmosphere. Their dinner tasting menu is very generous.
Really really good !The restaurant is great, employees are nice. They even offer us some drinks !Go there !
Not tasty, not fresh food. "Michelin" sign only confuses, it has never head any star, it is just on Michelin map, theres no connection with quality.
Astonishing food! We had the vegetarian degustation menu. From antipasto till espresso everything was delicious an still very light! Its the kind of restaurant where you feel just the rightly saturated! Accompanied by very friendly service and no long waiting time inbetween dishes! 10/10!
Fantastic atmosphere that welcomes you from the entrance. The dining room is filled with statues and art from the region. The menu offers plates packed with spices and flavors found only in India and Sri Lanka. Prices and portions are more than generous. I plan on returning many more times in the future.
Good Sinhalese restaurant in Milan. Discreetly elegant, with large tables, the mise en place articulated with suitable fabrics and wine glasses. The staff is kind and accommodating. They helped us in the choice and we opted for the tasting menu offered by the house. It consists of 10 courses of everything a little ... from appetizers to traditional Sri Lankan dishes. We washed it all down with an excellent aromatic, fresh and fruity Traminer. Normal price. We will definitely be back and next time we will choose different dishes from the menu.
The atmosphere is lovely! The veggies are INCREDIBLE. I wouldn’t order anything meat-y though. My shrimps were very rubbery and on one of our other orders the chicken was really tough.
Host rudely turned us away after showing our foreign covid vaccination card to sit down at the restaurant. Our vaccination card has been accepted in every restaurant across Italy for the last 3 weeks we have been here and is the exact substitute for the Italian green pass. When we tried to explain that to him, he would not accept it and rudely told us we were not allowed to stay. Which as uninformed as that was I get the rules change every day and the times are complicated and weird. But he didnt go ask for help and he wouldnt even listen to that everyone else has accepted this and look at the documentation to show that it is a suitable substitute. Instead he just kicked us out of a completely empty restaurant, which was the other kicker as it wasnt like they were swamped or even had a couple tables to take care of, no one was there and he could have taken the time to become informed and gain two customers. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Rel food: interesting, good, simple, spicy, tasty,...The "degustazione" menù is really extra large. They have good wine. The location is nice and prices are more than honest.Suggestion: go there for a nice lunch
Good restaurant with atmosphere. Good quality for food. The Service and timing could be optimized.
Ate here once while on holiday amazing authentic , reminded me back of home and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Nice restaurant near Moscova in Milan. Good balance between price and quality in comparison with others on average.I had a dinner on saturday evening with friends here. We reserved a table outside ( a little space with few sitting palce).Fast service: we waited only 20 minutes on avarage!!We ordered 3 plates:Vindaloo (beef in hot tomato sauce and rice); almas (beef with rice and pineapple); gemamas (beef in curry sauce and rice). We enjoyed our dishes: they tasted good. The waiters served us also 3 kind of sauce ( we loved that one made with onion!!! <3with tipical bread as starters for free.Reccommended !
The best food in Milano! Very welcoming owner, delicious food, reasonable price. So satisfied!!!
Excellent food, great curries and variety with the Sri Lankan menu.. Great service - definitely worth a try when in Milan
Amazing cuisine. Kind personnel. Cheap prices. A must go in the area
The quality of the food was disappointing.I tried the meat curry dishes. It was bland and missing many flavors. The vegetarian curry was okay though. For me the experience was comparable with less than average Indian food. And the price was relatively high. Overall, Not recommended.
I am Sri Lankan so I know how the food from my country should taste. Pros: Ambience and decent selection. Cons: Most of the meat dishes are catered to Italians/ Europeans. Quite bland. The vegetable dishes are decent and taste similar to those back in Sri Lanka. Been here twice and not sure I will make it back as it is not the best Sri Lankan food I have had.
This is what I call a hidden gem of Milan.Hidden - because its not on the main street, if you dont know it youll have a hard time finding it.But when you do - you will never forget it.Amazing food, excellent hospitality and even better service. They have a big variety of choices but I recommend you take tasting menu, portions are big and the food is splendid.Price is another positive - for food and service of such quality, you are definitely getting your moneys worth. Not enough words to describe, just go and experience it yourself.
Delicious Indian and Sir Lanka Cuisine. Beautiful atmosphere. Tutto Delizioso.
Very testy Indian and Sri Lankan food 🥘 with a lot of choice. The portions was very generous. This restaurant has been a real delight. Compared to other indian restaurants (same level as for the quality of food), this one is quite expensive.
Me and my friends we went there and we really enjoyed it! We decided to take tasting menus, so we tried all the specialties. Meat is, for sure, the best thing of this restaurant. Everything was spicy, but not in the exaggerate way, all the flavours were interesting and not banal. Cheaper than you think: 25 euros each for the tasting menus, drinks not included of course.
One of the best ethnic restaurants in Milan. Excellent food, good services and honest prices!
Good food and good service, great priceLove it! ❤️
The staff is excellent and super nice. Good food and good selection of Indian wines. They have offered us a indian wine tasting to facilitate us in choosing the one to drink during the dinner.
Nice location and good quality food. With about 30 euros you can get a 10 courses meal and wine.
Food doesnt matchup to the ambience and service!
The owner was really nice, we were hungry pretty late at night and accommodated me and my girlfriend even though it was really close to closing time, and we were the only people eating. Even offered us free wine tasters. Really nice staff, that are willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Food and drink is lovely, will be recommending to anyone I know coming to stay in Milan. Great restaurant and amazing service.
Great Indian restaurant! For the price of 25€ you can get a degustation menu which is not only an awesome way to try out a huge number of really good traditional indian dishes, but its also such an abundant option. No, believe me, degustation menu is a reeeally huge amount of food!!
Love the atmosphere of this place, me and my girlfriend tried out the tasting menu and was really good. Original cousine and tasty food we loved it!
Great atmosphere, with a lankan touch. Food was wonderful. Correct level of spicy and the service was good and calm. The best original Sri Lankan food i ever had in Europe !!
Very helpful and friendly staff. A great range of food from India as well as Sri Lankan traditional dishes. The testers of Indian wine before being seated was a very nice touch. It is also very reasonably priced.
I had high expectations from the restaurant because it is in the Michelin guide. It is also very highly commended in the Gambero Rosso guide. Plus a few friends had recommended it to me. Does it meet all the expectations? More or less. The food is indeed delicious, enjoyable and flavoursome. I am not the best guide on Sri Lankan food, because Ive never had it before. However, I can authoritatively say that the Indian food was very good. Not the best Ive had, but of the best Ive had in Europe. The dishes are not authentically Indian. But they are extremely well executed. Loved it! Plus the service is excellent. The staff was always happy to serve and enjoyed conversing. Very much recommended!
For tasting menu:the only problem is the portion is tooooo generous. Can hardly move after finish all. Great flavor for all dishes though.
Very very friendly owners and staff. Wonderful food and atmosphere and very reasonably priced. We couldnt get in to our apartment and the owner allowed us to sit down, have a drink and use his facilities. We decided to eat there that night and wasnt disappointed. Very highly recommended.
Michelin quoted and also in the list of Top 10 restaurants in Italy. The owner personally welcomes each and every guest. He also offers complimentary indian wine/beer and makes sure that you feel privileged. The restaurant is full most of the times so the best part is that you cant go wrong about taste, be it a veg or non veg as the cuisine is enjoyed by local as well as international travellers. The staff is humble and offer immaculate services in taking care about guests.
This place is a rare find. Although it was quite late (10PMwe were greeted with an offered Sri Lankan wine tasting. The food was great, portions were abundant and service was impeccable (the owner was really sweet to us). Prices are absolutely honest (39€ for two). Great location and decor, feels really cozy!
Im never coming back to this place again. Although the food was OK (not outstanding, just OK), the owner was rude and unpolite. We had to pay 260 euros (6 peoplefor an average dinner. It was a colleagues birthday, and he didnt get his discount (even if it was on the menu), I still cant understand why. And on top of it, the owner refused to take my credit card and said it was not his problem. Never again.
Good prices, and tasty food
Tasty, cozy and filling. Definitely one of the best Indian food you can ask for in Milan, both for the quality and the price. Loved it.
It was okay. I accepted the very mediocre service as it was busy on Saturday night. Never received the naan I ordered so I didnt pay for it. From the reviews I was expecting an excellent dish. I ordered the chicken tikka masala. Chicken was dry and I was disappointed. Ive had great Indian food in London, New York, Boston and Johannesburg South Africa. I think perhaps the fact it was a Sri Lankan restaurant. My dish comes from north India. Overall I wouldnt go again.
My boyfriend and I went there for dinner, waiters were friendly which was a plus but the food came out almost too quickly. When he received his lamb curry the majority of the dish was bones and fat. When he kindly asked to change the dish the waiter didnt even listen to him and promptly took the bowl to bring more of the same, which again was all bones and fat. The waiter then said it was all out the same pot, so there wasnt anything he could do. by this stage I finished my meal and we asked to speak to the manager(owner), we asked that we paid for everything but the lamb because it wasnt even a dish, he insisted to argue with ask saying you got two servings and also "thats lamb, what do you expect", my boyfriend being from New Zealand know what good lamb is. At the end as some customers were listening to the commotion, the bast he could decided to settle for was the lamb half price, in which we had enough, accepted and left. Completely unimpressed, lamb was terrible quality, waiters did not listen to request and food is not freshly prepared and owner was completely unprofessional and argumentative with our disappointment with the dish. Not going back again
Atmosphere and staff are great, treated us with some complementary wine while we waited for our table. Was a bit disappointed with the tasting menu in terms of spiciness and variety. Will in any case give another shot at the a la carte menu the next time in town.
ENG: Located just near "Moscova" metro stop, its an excellent place for dinner, decorated with dozens of surveniers from Sri Lanka it brings you right into an athmosphere of a classic dinner place, its one of those places in which youd like to bring a good conversation partner and have a relaxed time together or go on a romantic date. Service was excellent and the srtaff was very friendly. The food is superb, I found it to be a bit more delicate than Indian food and much lighter, tasting menu is also a great choice if you want to try different types of food (as it varies a loton one go.ITA: Vicino alla MM2 Moscova in pieno centro, E un ottimo ristorante sia dal punto di vista della qualita del cibo che dal servizio, lo spazio è molto accogliente decorato con gusto con vari surveniers dalla Sri Lanka. ho trovato il cibo molto più leggero rispetto alla cucina Indiana. E un ottimo posto per andare sia an un appuntamento esendo romantico che con una buona compagnia.Consiglio!
